Hi everyone just wanted to ask if MI Max supports display out to VGA, DVI and HDMI
Thank you
Unfortunately, no. The Mi max doesn't support slimport, MHL, or any display port for that matter. It can do wifi direct however but video quality won't be as good as the wired slimport or MHL connection. If you want slimport support, the Asus Zenfone 3 ultra is a good alternative which has almost everything you want in the Mi Max (and more) except for the absence of an infrared port (for controlling appliances). Also, it is more than twice the price of the Mi Max.
thank you for the information but I already have the mi max and i love it. losing display out is just fine. ill just find a workaround. thank you

You cant. However, you can buy for 25USD a TV box with amlogic 905x soc and you can use the tv box for mirroring the phone's screen via wifi (miracast) for browsing, watching photos. Video playback or gaming will be laggy and blocky with frame drops.
Of course, because the tv box is another android device, you can play and watch videos on it too
If your projector have only VGA input, then you will need a hdmi->vga converter something like this:

What kind of cable
Hello,
What kind of cable are you using exactly? is there any picture or link to buy one online?
Thank you
Same question.
where can we buy this cable?
It's a Nokia N95-96-97 video out cable (CA-75U), I bought one for £1.94 delivered off eBay.
Bear in mind it's composite (not Component), so the picture quality up close is pretty bad, and there's some noticable lag, so using it for gaming isn't ideal.
CA-75U cables
Ok, I think I can find that kind of cable, but they are pretty expensive new around 33 Frs

Just received my component cable, will be giving this a go tonite a very nice feature to have!!
I'm getting tearing when things move around alot on the screen, watching videos is very annoying because of this. Other than that, I have nothing to complain about. I talked to Samsung about it last week and they got the same problem with their handset/TV, so they sent the issue to the techs. Hopefully it can be resolved by a firmware update.
couldnt get a picture, i could faintly hear the movie i had playing, but picture was too fuzzy. Maybe the cable I got was bad quality, will have a go with the nokia cable.
GN running ICS 4.0.2 seem to default into landscape mode when you plug in an HDMI cable and just sort of "sticks" there with no option to change it...

This means that portrait mode apps appear sideways on the TV like so:
Not sure if this is only a GN issue, or an ICS issue, but I would love a fix for it... I demo apps and things on my device and its annoying to have to have a 90 degree swiveling HDMI computer monitor handy...
does anyone know if this is even possible?
how did you fix the overscan on the hdmi out from 1 picture to the next? Is it a setting on the tv, or the phone? I tried it on 2 tvs in my house and both look similar to the first picture. Not a dealbreaker, but a little annoying.

Yea, on my samsung it's called Just Scan. It cleans it right up.
Anyone have any insights into this whatsoever? There are no settings for MHL HDMI at all....

I can confirm this for LG tv's as well
ok as we know that zenfone series doesnt have 3g calling option (not skype or tango, i mean 3g native video call)
My carrier priced same cost voice calling and video calling
is there any possibility to porting samsung's dialer app or something similar that can make carrier supported video calls? (3g native video calls)
may be there are no one to develop something but in the theory is it possible?
i think zenfone totally disapointment for who before using samsung phones
- bad lcd quality (compare to amoleds)
- non replace battery
- poor plastic back cover, sometimes not fit well with the case
- extremly battery draining,
- charger socket and stock usb cable has bad quality
- in my country it sold with the same price note 3, and a bit lower price like lg g4 note 4 etc.
- good news it has a fm radio, make me happy to using it on the bus going to my work. listening news, live morning shows etc... :laugh:

The RTS DLP Projector (Texas Instruments) is a mini/pocket projector with 1000 lumen. Very good for video, pictures & text. It doesn't have any Android OS built-in, but that is also not necessary as it supports Miracast / WiFi-Direct where you can connect any smartphone over WiFi and stream the content to the projector.
The RTS DLP has a built-in big battery, speaker and a USB port (just connect a USB stick or harddrive with some movies!) so it can be used while you are on the go. For the money this projector is IMO great value! You can also connect a gaming console or TV box directly to the HDMI port. And with the IR remote it is very easy to control.

Price? Where I can buy?

I am trying to connect a fire stick 4k max to a 5.5 inch 4k lcd (where the hdmi interface is provided by a MI-PI board). However, here's what i get :
While booting :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and a few seconds later :
The lcd is working on windows. Also, after struggling with display configuration, I managed to make the lcd work on a RPI 4, at the desired resolution (i.e. [email protected]). I am pretty sure that it should also work with a fire tv 4k max, regarding to the first image which is in 4k (I think), but with rotation and wrong pixel positionning issues; I had something very similar on RPI4 before changing some parameters in /boot/config.txt file.
I am a total noob at android. I tried however to set the resolution and the density via adb shell,
but it didn't work...
Any Ideas or suggestions? I can send some logs if needed. Thank you in advance.
Try FireTVs resolution cycler. Hold 'up'+'rewind' on the FireTV remote for 5sec, while in FireOS.
This will cycle through all the FireTVs supported resolutions and refresh rates. It stops on each one for ~+10sec, so it will take a couple minutes. See if any return a usable picture.
I don't know about an option in FireOS to rotate the picture. That's easier done in vanilla Android. That orientation appears to be a property of the display.
Thank you for your reply. Actually, I've already tried that, but it didn't work. I also tried to force the rotation using
adb shell settings put system user_rotation 1
but still havig the same problems...
