I have a photon 36 days old I tried to switch out of the phone but was unable to because I forgot there were 31 days in august and missed my window by on day. Whats the best way to ditch a Photon to cover cancellation 199 fee and buy the Epic touch
Craigslist or eBay. Check both and see what they are going for and go from there. I can't see you having trouble selling it.

This. I posted a rooted Evo3D "for sale, tonight" for $350 obo, got an offer for $300 within 10 minutes.
What they said^^^^
I just sold my 3 day old Droid Bionic on eBay for $575. I am selling the Thunderbolt next and all this should pay for the GSII tomorrow coming from Verizon.
No way to ditch after 30 days, other than selling the phone and paying full retail. or cancelling a line (paying ETF), then paying discounted price on a new line.
You lose your phone number, but sometimes the ETF + Discounted price is cheaper than if you buy at full retail.
Of course, you could sell your photon and make up most of the retail too.
I got really lucky, returned my 3vo within 30 days (bought it full price - evo 4g trade-in and $75 for 1 year). The sprint store screwed up and didnt reset my upgrade (basically lost $75)
So I called sprint a last week and they looked at my history, because the store messed up and didnt reset the upgrade, they reset my upgrade to a FULL upgrade, even though i didnt have that to begin with. So now instead of 549.99 - 75, i'm paying 199

Damn, that's pretty impressive. If you are going to sell your current phone, don't lowball yourself just because you are dying to get the ET4G...unless the first offer you get is what you wanted obviously.

I didn't take the offer...I know I could hold out for much more, I'm just trying to get a backup for if BestBuy doesn't have one and I have to compensate for my loss of Buy-back credit ($350)....that's how I budgeted... free phone +$150 of whatever I wanted. That's what I'm aiming for. I'm hedging my bets...in 4 or 5 ways.

store doesnt have any kind of tool to reset your eligibility. It is automatically done by the system. Can take up to 30 days to reset. Even the retail stores support dept doesnt have a way to reset upgrade eligibility. Got people in my store every few days complaining about this lol

My 3d has been on Craigslist for 3days...not one inquiry. But the OG evo tho?? Always sold hours after its posted

Yeah, my line doesn't reset until midnight tonight. That's why I couldn't pre-order. I was told your billing cycle has to finish before a line reset. Mine just happens to cycle on the right day

Well it was over 30 days and my eligibility wasn't reset I was extremely happy when I was expecting to get my $75 credit back but got the full upgrade credit. Idk if they made a mistake or what, but I'm awfully happy
I would have bought it regardless, but the extra cash helps, it let me have an extremely crazy time on my friends 21st yesterday lol. At the end of the day I'm paying little for the phone. Got $150 for my evo 4g towards the 3d, was refunded $511.80 all together from sprint for the 3d (never got the $75 back, and that doesnt include the $35 restock fee i paid) so $476.80 refunded. Epic touch is $215.49 after tax. Out of pocket all together, it's costing me $100.49. Whereas it would have costed me $500+ otherwise.
I'm looking forward to developing for this phone. I'm staying up all night studying for a calculus 3 exam at 10am, then I'll have the phone around 12:30 and I'll probably pass out once i hit my bed. I'm pumped.

I always have the National Sales Support people just reset the eligibility while the customer is still in the store. I've done this dozens of times via E-Chat, never once have they tell me I couldn't do it and we're not a corporate.
Seems odd to me. Could it be a store grade issue?

I tried doing this for my friend (he wanted an upgrade which they can't do, so he was just going to cancel and get a new contract).
They said they are no longer honoring that (starting the day before I called) because in the terms and conditions they said they can raise the administrative fee up to $1.99. So I talked to them for a bit and they said there's nothing they could do.
I didn't push really hard, thats just what cancellations told me.
Hey guys, there's a good post over on goodandevo, from about a week ago, and it deals with a change in Sprint's term of service...and the details state that anyone can cancel their line of service without paying the ETF if they are unhappy with the changes. You have to call and give this reason for cancelling.
...should I return the other one, or put it on ebay or the marketplace here on XDA?
I guess it was a processing mistake. And they sent me two GNs and charged me with the upgrade price of $250. If I sell my second one, would verizon know? They said that they would refund all charges if I return the phone. I kninda would not mind extra money.
What does XDA think?
Be careful it doesn't screw up upgrade eligibility if you have more then one lime

This is definately something to consider. You dont want to be stuck with a GN for 4 years!
Just call back and ask youre worried about your future upgrade, and youre going to give a ypunger family member the second Galaxy Nexus for Christmas (this way it atleast seems like you dont want to sell it).
Or, right off the bat, just ask them when youre next upgrade is available. If they say something like 2015, say the Christmas gift story. If not, just say cool, because you got 2 GN at BOSS prices lol.
trade the other for a gsm version. heh heh.
They give 50 off if you have a ECPD doliscount(employee discount ex. USPS etc). I got mine for 150 which was that in addition to the extra 100 off 4g promo they are/were having.
I wouldn't think they could extend your contract four years like that. I am pretty sure the systems wont allow for anything more then 2 years. I would be more worried about getting charged full retail for it... That said I would wait till my bill posted and look it over. If all is well then sell the thing!
Those are some really good suggestions y'all.
I checked online and it says:
Eligible for a discount on 8/16/13 !

I guess the GN is going to last me through grad school.
I see I was charged 500+ish on my CC for the two card, just like the receipt that I got with the phones.
This does not change anything. I'll call verizon and see if I can give this to my GF or something. She has verizon, but is on her family's plan. I seriously need to convert her away from the i*hone.
Be careful they don't mess up your contract or decide to come back later and charge you full price. I would definitely go into a store and get this straightened out.
I got my price at $249 as well because that's my corporate rate.
I am fuming and need to vent. Apparently the February 14th rebate finally came back and said that because my phone was activated somewhere it was not supposed to be, my rebate is denied and I have to try all over again.
I was soo looking forward to going to the cheaper data plan too that I heard you could go to once you got the rebate, now it's going to be another eight weeks.

Mine was approved on 4th attempt....
First time they said I used the wrong form. how can I do that when they sent me the printed form which I just signed and sent it back with the barcode.
2nd time rejected because they said you do not have a data in your monthly plan. Are you blind, can't you see I can't get the phone without data plan????
3rd time rejected because of the employee error, on 3rd rejection when I yelled at them they said they will escalate it and will be approve in 30 days, and I got the prepaid card in 10 days after the 3rd submission.
Mine went thru the second time..when they activated my phones they gave us temp numbers till our numbers from sprint kicked over so they had the temp numbers on the rebate paper and was denied kuz the temp numbers didnt have voice or data plan on them ...i called them and they fixed it in 5 min only waited a week and a half to get my two pre paid 200 dollar each cards for feb 11 rebate...call them and they will help you..
Called into customer service... told me because I didn't have unlimited voice AND data, I could only get a $50 rebate.
Called back later, they said they couldn't do anything, but I'd have to go to the store in person.
I've tried calling the manager 5 times and each time he's not there.
Write on their Facebook wall, T Force is who deals with Facebook, and they are way better to deal with than customer care.

Seems like I got lucky. I literally switched the plans the same day I got my phone back to my original plan and still got the rebate back + keep the phones. Only one attempt

I got my rebate for both S2 and Amaze. You have to read everything on the fine print on the rebate forms. The Rep at Tmobile store didn't have the clue. They only care about selling you the phone and the plan that day. I was at the store in the morning and upgrade my lines to 1000 min and was told everything will be good to go....Luckily, I read the rebate form before I send it out. I went back to the store that same afternoon and get my plan to unlimited. A month after, I switched back to 1000 min + 2gb of data and no text messsage for 150 bucks a month + I got 2 free phones. These rebate can be very tricky...be sure to read every single words. Don't trust the store sale person. They are there to get your money.

I called in and they said I was not on unlimited talk and text (even though form said it was not activated in right location). I upgraded ($20 more per month for me). I called rebates back and they resubmitted. They state I should get the rebate in 30 days.
I always say I don't like and will not participate in rebates, but this was one must have phone at the time (came from MyTouch 3G).
Has anyone talked to Verizon about returning the Note 7 but keeping the upgrade until a new phone comes out? Everything out now just doesn't suite my needs, and I don't want to buy an 8 month old S7 Edge that isn't going to replace my Note 5 or 7.
I chatted with Verizon, and was told that if I simply returned the device, whatever I activated on the line (even my old Note 5) would effectively x-out my upgrade even if it wasn't a brand new phone or an upgrade.
Now, one interesting thing is the upgrade is on my wife's line, but the phone is on my line... So question 2, would that work the same?
That's ridiculous. How would activating an old phone be using up the upgrade. I'm going to call myself in a few and see what they say because in my case. I no longer have my old phone so I'm buying one from someone this weekend to be able to activate it in place of this note 7. Dammit what a mess this entire thing has been.

I agree, it's BS when everything else fails to compare. If that is the case, I'll buy an iPhone 7 plus and ebay it.
Ok I just got off the phone with Verizon cs. The rep I spoke to was real nice and she knew her info.
I asked her if I activate my old. Phone will I still have my upgrade and she said YES.
She says I can upgrade at anytime.
I then asked since Verizon canceled the contracts what to keep me from staying with my phone and not returning it. She said EVENTUALLY THE COMPANY WILL HAVE AN AUDIT AND THEY WILL THEN SEE THAT THOSE PEOPLE WHO STILL HAVE THE NOTE 7 HAVEN'T RETURNED THEM AND WILL EVENTUALLY BE BILLED FOR THE PHONE VIA WHICHEVER WAY YOU HAD YOUR PHONE PAYMENT SETUPLIKE. For instance i was going to pay monthly on mine for 2 years and if I keep the phone eventually when the phone is caught in the audit they would Then proceed to charge me monthly again for the phone.
Oh and something interesting she mentioned is when I originally swapped my old. Note 7 for this newer supposed safer note 7 that they didn't have me sign a new agreement. So basically there's nothing tieing me with this phone to them. But once again all it would take is a audit. Which they will eventually have done and they would flag it. I'd have to sign or return phone and be charged etc. Hopefully this answers some of your guys questions. I know it answered all my questions by calling.
I'm going back to my old phone. Getting all my refunds and upgrade next year when a hopefully. Newer better note 8 will be out.

Yep, I went to a high volume brick and mortar here in Jacksonville and confirmed the same. I'm going back to my old Note 5 and will return this to a store for a refund. No stylus or 5.7" screen is a deal breaker for me at this point. I really want a microsd slot, but I'll just have to deal for now.
So, this is weird. I decided yesterday to return my Note 7. I bought a different phone outright so I can get my upgrade.
When I got home I noticed my receipt said 0.00 refunded. I called 611 and the rep had no idea so she called the store and we got on a call together.
The rep is stating that it will take up to 3 billing cycles for me to get my refund because the original purchase date was back in November and we're outside the 14 day window from the replacement device.. That doesn't make any sense. Can anyone confirm this?
What, you left your Note 7 at a corporate store?

I am to get a full refund. I don't want to burn an upgrade in the process.

What happens to the device payment agreement I have for my Galaxy Note7?
Your Galaxy Note7 device payment agreement has been automatically canceled, and you'll receive a bill credit for any payments made towards your installment balance.
Additionally, you'll receive a refund or bill credit for any taxes, down payments or upgrade fees you may have paid. Please allow 1-2 bill cycles for credits to apply.

You'll get a refund in 3 billing cycles... IF THAT.. and while you are at it burn an upgrade unless you have an extra loaner phone .. or willing to pay full price on a device
i bought mine on a 2 year contract, after the first recall i took my phone down to the store, and the sales rep rushed through the exchange, and marked me down as a payment plan, so i have to wait longer to get my money back that i paid on the 2 year contact, because the sales rep was upset and rushed through the exchange. a bit frustrated, and have to wait till december to see the credit (which better be there) and i dont want to get a new phone during this period, because i dont want to mess anything up on my account now... so in other words looks like there is a bunch of us waiting for our money

That doesn't answer my question. If I return the phone directly to Samsung, where is the benefit? I still don't have a phone unless I burn an upgrade taking an inferior phone.
I paid outright for my phone and received my refund in 3 days.
