I had the spigen equivalent for the note 7 and it was much slimmer than the VRS case is. I may wind up returning the VRS one. It's just thicker than what I'm looking for.

Thanks , will most likely go back to the spigen case.
does the Supershields cover the entire front of the phone? including the LG logo area at the bottom?

no glass protector at present can cover the LG logo, the glass starts to curve off, you will get a air gap, there was a company called icroo, that could do it, but I think they closed down, they had the perfect protector for the G5, but it was also very expensive.
The screen protector was not very good. I removed it as it only covered the primary screen and was very narrow on both sides. I knew the whole screen wasn't possible due to the screen cultivation, but I felt this implementation was still subpar.
The VRS case was outstanding. Good grip and protection. Fitment was great. Kickstand is handy. It is a little wider in the hand then say the spigen offering I'd say (I'll be comparing once that one arrives). The only gripe I have about the case is that the headphone jack passage is rather small and will not clear many headphone plugs.

The screen protector you have is just a rebadged like many of those sold on amazon and ebay, they all come from china.

So, is there any new cases coming out from popular brands other than Otterbox?
I used this one from swiss army and it fits the captivate perfectly.

))) I meant Popular Brands that make Quality Cases... Like Speck, Otterbox and others...
Yeah... I really wish Speck made cases for the Captivate.

BUMP! May be something new coming up?
otterbox released their impact series case.. but no defender as of yet
Incipio just came out with a case for the captivate. I have one of their hard cases for my Zune HD and am very happy with the quality. I'm tempted to pick up one for my Captivate. Right now I'm using an Invisibleshield but wouldn't mind a little more protection.
I just got the Otterbox Impact case for the Captivate not ten minutes ago in the mail. Shipping was ok, I ordered it last Thursday. Seems really solid and thick enough that it could take a decent impact or drop. I like it so far but the increase in size will have to grow on me. It's not a ridiculous increase, puts it about to the size of a 3GS iPhone really. Other than that it comes with a screen protector and has a good feel in your hands. I got it for right under $18.00 with shipping using the coupon code "tb1010y".
Check this and this. These look pretty solid, and are very reasonably-priced!

Bought this case in the mall at a kiosk.
http://store.mybat.com/smoke-argyle-candy-skin-cover-18120.html
1. That design, barely visible. It's actually A LOT darker case. Especially when on the phone.
2. It's thick flexible plastic. Hard Gel-like. Not a rubber skin that gets caught up in your pocket.
3. It's the exact same shape as the phone. A true "skin'.
4. Light. Adds almost no additional weight to the phone.

I have that same case, only in green. I agree with your assessments, it really is a great case. I am curious about the Otterbox cases though, have never used them before.

IDK about the first one, but the snap on case isn't that good. I have the black version. The snaps are broken in several spots, the case opens itself when dropped (what good is that?), and occasionally when pulling out of my pocket the case is literally falling off.
YMMV, but if I had to do it again, I'd avoid the Amzer rubberized snap on case at all costs.
Body Glove TPU case is all you need.
I've been using the SGP Argos for a few days now and I'm ready to share my review with the XDA community. Overall, the case has been good and is really high quality, but there were somethings I didn't like about it. You can view my video review and my full thoughts below, along with high resolution pictures of the case.
You can purchase the case here:

The Argos is a genuine leather case available in Black, White, and Vintage Brown. The Black and White models cost $39.99 while the Vintage Brown costs $42.99. For $39.99/$42.99, you're not getting much. No screen protectors, just a leather case. Now not to say that this isn't a bad case, it's actually really high quality. There's no sewing so you don't have to worry about stitching falling apart. The quality of the leather is superb and is 100% genuine. Overall, the construction of the case is just absolutely fantastic.
It also gives you access to all ports, except the bottom microphone and usb port is only accessible when the front cover is opened. I'm sure you could tell by the image above how this case works. You need to open the front flap every time you need you access your phone, and this is also goes for charging it. This is the only downside I could see with the case. If you're someone who uses their phone often, opening the front flap constantly just to use the phone can be annoying. On the upside though, it offers screen protection so the chances of getting scratches on your screen are lessened. Honestly, I wasn't too keen on how the case functioned, but that's merely cause I'm impatient. If you're someone who doesn't at all mind the front flap and would rather have the extra screen protection and a gorgeous leather case, I'd have no issues recommending the SGP Argos for the Samsung Galaxy S III.

Nice, it is really high quality.
These look really nice. It's probably the only case with a front cover that I would get.
I espiaclly likd the way it closes. Very snappy but sturdy!
I also have this case. Overall it's nice but I didn't like how it flips around the back. It doesn't lie flat when it's open and make it a little awkward to hold.

Yup, I stated this in my review. The phone just slides around when the front flap is folded back.
I just got my UAG Monarch series for my S8+. As usual it fits great, the keys are very responsive. Now I hope I can find a good tempered glass that fits without peeling off. I installed an IQ shield (wet install) and had to trim the edge (badly trimmed off by me).

How does it do for edge protection?? Is the top and bottom lip seem to give decent protection on the screen when face down? It barely raises the screen off the desk when face down. I have the Spegein Heavy Armor and it almost feels like the phone will fall out at the first good impact. It also doesnt seem to have much edge protection at all.
It has around 1mm gap
Is the gap enough though? I've always liked UAG cases and something that will protect the device well. This is my first edge phone,so not sure if it will be enough
I agree on that, I might have to go back to an otter box. I hate bulking up the phone like that.
I think the gap is much better for me than my spigen liquid armor
Thank you for posting pictures of this case!
I ordered it off of amazon, but unfortunately, it will be getting shipped in a month .
But I really wanted to see how it looked, so thank you so much for this!
You're welcome. Pre ordered mine on the 1st week of April from uag site, got 2 days after my s8+ arrives
Really nice case, you have better pictures then the UAG website. I didn't realize it was two tone like that.
I'm really curious how the dimensions of the Monarch compare to an Otterbox Commuter or Symmetry. Any chance you could get ahold of one or both of those and do side-by-side photos?
I don't have otterbox case. But im still waiting for the Pelican case to cone out.
Any idea how long these take to ship to the UK from UAG? Thanks.
I pre-ordered this 1 week before my S8+ came. It took about a week when i got it from uag USA. Not sure about UK, sorry.
I have the Monarch for my S8+, in addition to a couple of Plasmas (Ice & Cobalt). I prefer the Plasma, as it feels sturdier - the lower lip on the Monarch is flimsy. However, the Monarch feels slimmer on the sides, making it a bit easier to hold.

Was your Monarch a little bowed in the middle when you took it out of the package?
Hope UAG makes the Midnight Edition like they did for the iPhone 7 Plus.

How the heck do you get to the edge of the screen with a built in screen protector on this type of edged screen?

I have the I-Blason Ares case. I mountain bike often and wanted a rugged case with built-in screen protection to protect my Pixel 2 XL while I am riding. For the rest of the time, I use a Spigen Thin Fit case.

What can you tell us about this case? Does it look like the screen protector is removable?
I'm thinking I may want to run this case with the supcase holster. Looks like it would work.

The screen can be removed if you wanted to, you'd have to cut it off. The screen has a weird dot matrix kind of deal going on with it. If you hold the phone slightly tilted you can see the little dots all over the screen. It does seem to make the screen a bit unresponsive, you kind of have to learn to touch the screen a little different, like more of a flat finger instead of the tip of your finger. The case is decent if you wanted to used it as a permanent case. I got it just to get my by until a good fitting tempered glass screen protector comes out, and the RhinoShield and Grip I pre-ordered get here.

Hi all,
I'm thinking about picking up all three available NagaBee Cases from Amazon. It's the NageBee Snap-On Premium Cowhide Leather, Hybrid Case Premium [Heavy Duty] Defender [Dual Layer], and NageBee [Natural Wood] Snap-On Premium Canvas Fabrics [Heavy Duty]. Details here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GV76F29/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Any thoughts from others on this? Would you order one of them for your phone?
Thanks
The wood and fabric one looks pretty nice. They just seem a little bulky for what they are

Nagbee Natural Wood Case
I have the wooden one, and in my opinion, it is too thick. Not only does it not give you enough protection on the front, but the screen protector included is trash. The black border on the tempered glass gets rid of some areas of the screen. The "wood" is not even wood, I partially punctured the wood with my nail lol. I do not recommend this case, also, if you want photos, I can provide some.

Glad you tested it first. I came a second from pulling the trigger on this. I love the case I got. The feel is brilliant and it protects the back/sides/corners, but finding a good screen protector is a ***** atm. They all have that black ring or nothing but bubbles.
All, here are the pics of my 3 cases. I can't test on phone until it comes in tomorrow.
So far the leather is my favorite followed by the black 2 piece and last is the wood/cloth.

Well after using the leather case on the phone all day I can't say that I'm impressed with the overall mold of the case. I do like the leather design and if the wood was flatter I would dig that one too but I think there are too many flaws with the case mold.
So first off the headphone jack cutout is too small for almost all of my headphone cables. I will have to drill out the hole to use the headphone jack to it's full potential. Next off the case doesn't provide much coverage protruding past the screen. I prefer to have a bit of wiggle room in this dept. Next the edge or lip of the case that rests against your ear when talking on the phone is too sharp, even for plastic. Just catching my fingers on the lip feels sharp. Finally the back of the case is super deep, like Otter Box Defender Series deep. I'll bet that nothing will ever touch the camera lenses due to this depth but it does add a ton of bulkiness to the phone.
On the positive side the buttons feel great, all the cutouts appear to be perfect, and I do love the leather/cork or wood/cloth designs. I think more phone case manufacturers need to adopt these styles of cases.
If you'all have any questions for me let me know.
Cheers
