Just downloaded the os that mister junkie posted thanks but was wondering before i sent it in for repair will they fix it even tho its been rooted also after i install the firmware will i lose root even tho twrp is installed ? should do anything else to it before sending it in thanks in advance

My phone recently quit charging so took it to an AT&T store (i747) and they said they can send it back that it is still under warranty but my phone is rooted, has about I'd say 14-15 flashes counted (trouble flashing CWM.. had to manually reboot), and has a (custom?) APN (restored stock and data wasn't working). I told them I'd be back tomorrow and then I can get my new phone. So can someone tell me how to get my phone legal for warranty again?
Side question: When my data was not working I used an APN for an AT&T phone but instead of having the little 4g symbol about the signal bars it has its on 4G symbol in the status bar.. will restoring to complete stock fix this?
Extra stuff: About a month I rooted my phone, flashed custom rom, got stuck in a bootloop, restored to stock, rerooted and reflashed custom rom, bootloop, and again but with different rom and still bootloop. And now my phone is just rooted, has CWM, and is on stock rom.
You should be able to unroot it if your on stock anyways. Just Google how to unroot your device. If you wanna be really safe I recommend using ODIN to flash a complete unrooted stock ROM. Best of luck!
Sent from my Galaxy S3
i agree with @TheKucho statement but always back-up your IMEI DATA FILES BEFORE ROOTING/DOWNLOADING a custom Rom yu'll thank me for that cuz yu will never have problems with data again (learned the hard way and ended up HARD bricking my Galaxy S2 Skyrocket) it got fixed but i learned the lesson. THANK GOD FOR MOBILETECHVIDOES
At this point all yu can do is restore to stock and everything will be fine using ODIN (relief) att will give yu a new phone but as an experinced guy in rooting yu should lay off the flashing since thats what led to bootloops,
i have done alot but igotta say flashing alot is like getting your phone high 24/7 so yu SHOULD LEARN to stick with a ROM that suits your needs/expectations and i gurantee yu that rooting with cautions and being on the safe side will be a success and never an issue
having a warranty is like an insurance for the car so treasure it dont take it for granted use it as many times as yu want but just make sure your phone is in warranty cuz at some point you might have to send it to mobiletechvideos if its out of warranty and a new phone isnt an answer
THE GUYZ AT ATT DONT CARE IF ITS ROOTED JUST DONT LET THEM FIND OUT THAT YU DID IT........ happy rooting
Okay so I'm feeling extraordinarily dumb at the moment, I've had my phone storage encrypted for a while now and I've also been running a vanilla AOSP custom rom....... However today I felt like it'd be smart to flash a new rom because ya know, who can stay happy with one rom. Well not really thinking of the consequences of encrypted storage, I went ahead and flashed a new rom and surprise surprise, that was the stupidest thing I could have done. I cant get into the recovery, and I cant get into the phone because somehow my encryption password has changed or its all corrupted or something. I get prompted to enter it just like before but it's an error every time now. Currently downloading a stock image for Odin, however I dont even know if this will work. Does anyone know if I am SOL or if there is anything I can do? Thanks for the help peeps :crying:
EDIT: Wiping, installing stock through Odin, re-wiping has fixed the issue. Feel free to close thread bc idk how!
Hello I have not been here long but anytime I need help with something pertaining to a phone I come here.
So here it goes. I got an LG G3. I got root then I installed Bump'd as it was released. I then installed a custom rom and all seemed to be good. A few weeks later my phone got stuck on TWRP custom recovery. I managed to get that fixed by finding a thread on this web site. Now I was going to install candy rom from the Sprint LG G3 section but as I wiped Cache and all that other good stuff what ended up happening is that it may have wiped something it should not have . Because now the phone will now only boot to TWRP, and it keeps informing me that "No OS is installed."
Now here's the tricky part. It doesn't seem to want to go into download mode either.
So all I can do it TWRP.
So I have two questions
1. I heard that you could possibly put some sort of file on an SD card and flash it on TWRP to fix it. Is this true ? If so, can someone direct me to how to do so with instructions?
and
2. If #1 does not work... does that mean that my phone is screwed and there is nothing I can do with it at this point ? I have soft bricked phones but never something like this.
Help anyone as I would like to get this fixed ASAP if there is some way to fix it.
Please and thank you!
No OS installed. I have twrp installed. So literally when i turn it on it goes directly into recovery menu. Apparently I have no back up or restore point. This is a Sprint galaxy note 4. Does anyone have any suggestions. I have been looking for a factory reset firmware somewhere online cant find one. Funny thing is my wife has the same exact phone. I thought making a back up and restore point for her phone would work on mine, but it didnt lol. Please I would be very grateful for help.
Hello, you could get the official software and use odin to get it back all the way to stock, or you can also just flash a custom rom since you already have twrp. To install a custom rom, all you need to do is download the rom and place it on a micro sd card, boot into twrp, and flash the rom from the micro sd.
Thank you for your reply how ever my trouble is finding an OS that works for my note 4 sprint device. I have downloaded dozens and dozens of different roms and so called " factory firmware" but seem to have no lucks. i have the recovery software installed twrp. when i go into there and try to load rom i still get error that says no os installed..
Thanks for the input i will close this thread now. my problem was not being patient at the bootload screen. I automatically assumed that something was wrong because it was stuck at the sprint spark yellow screen how ever little did i know a little bit of patients would have saved me numerous amounts of hours of research. Lost sleep, called off of work, and canceled weekend plans due to a little lack of patience. Well you live and you learn i really appreciate you taking time out to reply.
Trying to root my new op7T has killed my wifi.
I flashed Maura's new twrp, but couldn't see my zips that were supposed to be on the phone... After boot reboot flashed etc all night I tried to flash Jon woo's magisk v20 w/o TWRP.... That's when my wifi died.
So I reformatted and flashed stock rom but it still won't turn back on.
I'm not tripping too bad or anything because I know OnePlus is a company encourages us 2 root our phones and never settle.
So anyway if anybody can like get in some kind of voice chat program with me and help me out one day that would be cool just PM me on Facebook Twitter or on here thanks and happy rooting guys.

Never Settle doesn't mean that you keep bricking your phone.:silly:
Anyway just download the unbrick tool and restore the entire thing.Tool.

Which variant are you on?
This happened to me last night......
I had actually flashed a version of twrp that i got on here, but it didn't boot itself so had to boot in from fastboot. Even then it couldn't see any of my storage. What version of twrp did you use that successfully gained access to internal storage?
I fixed the wifi issue by downloading the official image from the OnePlus website, moving it on to the root directory of my internal storage and doing a manual update via settings>system>system updates>settings cog>local upgrade.
How did you reflash the stock rom? could you try my way above if you haven't already?
I was expecting a factory reset but no changes were made and all my data was safe....
