Rooted using Team Epic's method running the stock rom. I have Titanium Backup as well as Voodoo OTA RootKeeper installed. I have a couple of questions regarding post-rooting updates
If I freeze the AT&T Software Update V3_1205_2_2, will it prevent the OTA updates?
If not, how do I prevent the OTA update from downloading or from bricking my phone?
If I temp unroot it with Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper and then update, will my root still exist?
What are the methods to update the stock ROM if I am rooted?
Thank you for help in advance.

I believe freezing AT&T Software Update will prevent OTA updates.
I heard a report that OTA Rootkeeper did preserve root for the LG1 OTA update, but I don't know exactly what you have to do to make that work. I don't think you have to temp unroot first.
Here are the methods to update the stock ROM now that you're rooted:
Use OTA Rootkeeper and accept the OTA.
Flash a complete root-injected UCALG1 ROM through Odin.
Flash the CWM-flashable OTA update through your CWM recovery.
I have a rooted GNex and don't want to wipe the sdcard in order to re-root after the 4.3 OTA update.
My phone already got the OTA update, but I haven't yet allowed the update install to run. If I unlock the bootloader before letting the the update to be installed, will the bootloader still be unlocked after the update?
-------------
GNex GSM (maguro), takju build
Bootloader PRIMELC03
ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.3

First, what do you mean with "wipe the sdcard ir order to re-root after the 4.3 OTA update?
Second, unlocking your bootloader WILL wipe your internal storage. After unlocking it your phone won't have any files besides the system one. All your personal files WILL be erased and your phone will perform a factory reset. You'll have a phone just like a new one. I read somewhere that there's an excetion to this rule, you could try searching for this excetion, but I don't remember seeing it anywhere after, so it's probably false.
But, answering your question, OTA updates (in the nexus case, at least) won't re-lock your bootloader. After unlocking it'll remain unlocked until you yourself lock it again.

Root is lost after the OTA update, right? (I read that somewhere.) If the OTA update also locked the bootloader, I would have to go through the bootloader unlocking process (which wipes all the sdcard, as you just described) to be able to regain root.
You're using a Nexus device, of course it doesn't relock
Thanks. I've already installed the OTA update. Root was indeed lost, but the bootloader remained unlocked, so I was able to re-root the phone without wiping my data.
Even if it did lock your bootloader, you could unlock it with this (provided you have root of course).
You could even unlock your bootloader with Omap Flash.

The salient point being, it doesn't re-lock the bootloader.
Root WILL be lost, but 4.3 can easily be obtained again on 4.3.
If we update to marshmallow will she loose root. It's an OTA update
As far as I know if you try to do OTA update with rooted phone it won't work. You may need to flash the update in TWRP and re-root

Your phone will stuck at boot screen. It is possible that recovery won't work and you will only have the choice to flash a kd or tot file to get phone working again.. So before getting update first do unroot....
As far as I know, unlocked bootloader doesn't stop the phone from receiving and installing MIUI OTA updates. But how about root ? Will I still be able to recive OTAs and install them automatically when i"m rooted + magisk installed + system apps untouched + stock recovery ?
Will magisk and root be able to survive OTA updates ?
No it may end in a bootloop
Unlocked phone can receive and update
But rooted u can manually install
Can I install OTA Samsung official updates if phone is stock with stock recovery, no root but unlocked bootloader?
(apologies, meant to put this in Q&A)
Anyone? I am afraid also to update my note 10 plus sm n965n on OTA because my bootloader was unlocked.
