LG G4 Bricked, tried about everything - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Everyone,
my LG G4 bricked after I returned to stock via flash tool. It's not booting but I can access download mode yet theres a totally different problem: my pc won't recognise my phone, it doesn't appear in the device manager. I tried about 4 different drivers and every usb port.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Philipp
Edit: ADB doesn't reconise it either, same with fastboot

Did you try to downgrade? Try installing drivers on some other PC with different data cable, it should be detected.

Fix your drivers
Go to download mode, plug in the phone
Open device manager, there must be a device not installed or showing yellow exclamation, fix that.
Same goes for when in custom recovery and trying adb.

[Q] i747M stuck in bootloop

Hi all,
I really need some help here with my Samsung Galaxy i747M which i recently wipe/factory data reset and wiped the cache. The phone booted fine after and i went through all the setup steps, then the problem begins. I am unable to see a background then the phone reboots and ends up in a bootloop. I am able to access download mode and recovery mode but my PC is not able to pick up the phone in download mode. I tried switching the usb cables and everything and still nothing.
My question is, is there any way to flash a new firmware via recovery mode or at least a custom rom and/or CWM through recovery mode. I am not able to pick up the phone through Odin.
Please help!!
You mean Odin does not detect the phone when it is connected in download mode? You're running the most up-to-date s3 drivers and Odin 3.07 or 3.09?
What bootloader is on your phone?

my pc does not acknowledge the phone's connection at all!! i have the stock bootloader. the phone is not rooted either
Does your phone have a custom recovery? You mean the phone is not listed in Device Manager, Odin, or both?

no the phone does not have a custom recovery, i wanted to know if there is anyway other than odin to flash in a custom recovery using the stock recovery. device manager or odin does not pick up the phone for whatever unknown reason. what can i do??
You can't flash a custom recovery through the stock recovery. The easiest way would have been to do it via Odin.
Are you running a Mac or Windows machine? What OS? Does the phone charge when it's connected to the computer?

I am running on a windows machine with windows 7. Yes the phone charges when connected to a PC but just not picking up as a device. Is there no other option?

You tried a different computer too? Are there any unknown devices in device manager when you connect the phone? You tried all of your USB 2.0 ports? If you did all of this, it's possible the USB port on the phone has malfunctioned.
You could try loading a custom recovery via fastboot.

So there are no unknown devices in device manager on any computer with any USB cables? If that's the case, maybe the phone's USB port is defective.
Yes, ADB/fastboot requires a working USB connection but the drivers are different from when you connect the phone after it has booted to its desktop.

[Q] Help!! install ROM from SD card??

Hello,
I have LG G3 D855 32 GB not rooted, dropped in water but now it's dry, it was giving me a green screen says "kernel crash". anyways, i have installed the LG drivers on Win7, all the drivers installed except the MTP one to try to fix it through LG Flash Tool but it didn't communicate with the phone because the MTP failed to insatll, no luck with usb cable. I Don't know if it's possible to boot/install anything from Micro Sd Card?? I have the .kdz .tot .dll files for it
I would appreciate any help
Thank you in advance.
It's not possible to install any firmware directly from the phone. Try anyway to connect your G3 with your computer and use the LG Flashtool to flash a kdz or an tot file. If it isn't successful you have to send it to LG for repair.
MTP Failed
Thank you Der CaRl fro the quick reply,
the phone can go to firmware update mode, but as i said the MTP driver couldn't be insatlled. i don't know if there is a way to make the phone in usb debugging mode from pc by commands or something??

Did you try the download mode (hold volume up then plug-in to PC), wait til the PC recognized your phone, then flash your rom via lg mobile tool or update via server.

Yes I've tried it, and this is one of the main problems, when i go to the download mode and plug the phone it keeps searching for the MTP driver and failed to install it. I've tried all the solutions on the internet but with no luck.

[Q] No response from LG G3 (d855) maybe bricked. Need some help.

Hello guys!
Today i make a big mistake. I want to install CM 14 to my LG g3 . At first i can't go into TWRP . After 1 hour a somehow managed to boot in twrp but after formating the old os the phone is not responsing at all.
Things that i try:
I try to install a bootloader with ADB but the my pc cant recognise the device.
Things that the phone does:
There is no boot screen all it does is led and blue LED is blinking.
If i connect to the pc it recognise it as "Android " but i cant do nothing with it.
Please help me. Thank you
Did you try to connect in download mode and flash stock firmware with the official toolkit? I don't remember it's name though

Yes of course but the pc diden't recognise the phone and it say its " not cot connected"
You need to install device drivers and ADB drivers before trying. Use USB 2.0 ports too, it's acting wired with 3.0 ones

Unable to flash ROM due to PC not recognizing device

Hello friends!
New registered user here but have already read tons of threads regarding G3 troubleshooting. Anyway, have decided to post this problem and if a similar situation has already been posted (and solved), please provide link.
For some strange reason, my G3 have decided to stay in the LG logo (I understand that this is the so-called boot-loop). This happened when the phone suddenly restarted while watching a YT vid and the battery still at 30%++. The phone just keeps on restarting until such a time that it never got pass the LG logo.
Here are the things that I have already tried to no avail:
1. Enter Hard Reset page via hardware keys (Power + Vol Up buttons). Have chosen "Yes" to hard reset device but alas, it never got pass the LG logo.
2. Downloaded PC suite, KDZ flashtool, and LGUP. Installed all three software. Connected G3 to PC and entered download mode (Vol Down while inserting USB cable). Unfortunately, unable to fully use either of the three software since the PC cannot detect G3.
Number 2 is quite strange since I have downloaded and installed all G3 drivers. This I know since a friend of mine who owns a working G3 unit was detected by the computer and can sync with the PC suite.
For some strange reason, everytime I connect my broken G3 to the computer, it is not detected by the PC and was not even listed in the device manager.
Any help and advise would be highly appreciated
I already downloaded all necessary tools (KDZ, LGUP, and flashtool) to flash the ROM but I need the PC to see the G3 unit to be able to do so.
By the way, before the bootloop scenario: the debugging (or is it developer?) options are disabled and I'm not sure if the bootloader is locked or unlocked.
I hope all this info is of any use.
Thanks a lot in advance
Have you tried simpler solutions first? Like, trying another USB ? Or another USB port from your pc? This maybe hardware related rather than software. You should try that before anything else. (Maybe you did?)

Thanks for the reply. Yup, have done those. Tried a different cable, different USB port, and borrowed a working G3 unit. The good G3 unit was detected by the PC but when I connect my broken G3 (same cable and same USB port), the PC does not detect it (not even listed in device manager).
Because of this hurdle, I couldn't flash with LGUP (it states no handset was connected). The KDZ flashtool basically says the same message.
By the way, my debugging options are disabled before this whole problem started. Could that be a reason why the PC won't detect the unit?
