I have been feeling it since the start. It has been like a week since I got OP3. I have attached a few pics I took tonight. Please go through them and see if its a "standard" OP3 quality. I have seen some of very gorgeous pictures around taken by OP3 and I just feel that I am missing something or there is some kind of hardware problem. Pictures are getting pixelated and distorted a lot both by front and rear cam.
I am comparing with photos posted by people using their OP3 in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/review/photo-quality-t3400052/page21
Below are my pics:
1 Pic is taken in sunset light and others are low lighting.

Edit: More pictures in 4th post below.
As I see, 1st photo has been focused on cushion. 2nd photo has a completely off white balance. 3rd photo is completely fine. 4th photo is also fine except for that disturbing external light source. Last photo is fine IMO.
These errors could be happen to any camera. Are you facing this issues all the time? How's the camera quality with a 3rd party app? Like "Google camera"?
Post here results from other camera apps too. And few more shots from stock camera.
@GTRanushka
Thanks for your response. I used auto modes (Simple Photo mode) in stock camera. I will add a few more photos today from stock and other camera app today evening.
Here are few more pics I took in afternoon.

First clean flash stock ROM even if you are already on stock. If that doesn't cure the issue, then go for the service centre. I think that it is a software issue.

How do you install Google Camera? It isn't listed in the Play Store through the OP3.

Are you rooted and have TWRP? If so, download the 3.2.7 signed ROM from XDA, boot into TWRP, wipe system, data, Dalvik and cache (without wiping internal storage), install the downloaded ROM, wipe Dalvik and cache and reboot to system.
If you don't have TWRP, then sideload via adb.
The main issue in a clean flash is you wipe system, data (not internal storage) etc.

Can I simply install System from that? I do not wish to lose my apps with their data. By wiping data, I will be losing my apps?

Wrong thread, sorry.
Dude you have to clean the camera lens before using the camera. Those photos that are a bit washed out and look over exposed because you have dirty fingerprints on it and what not... There's nothing wrong with your camera

You can but it will not be a clean flash but a dirty flash. Try it first to see whether it solves your problem, if not clean flash.
Apps and their data are not a big issue. Simply back them up in TiBU and restore afterwards.
Also you will have to decide which is more important for you, having a proper camera or setting up the apps again. Further, if you go to the service centre, you will lose not only apps but your phone will be wiped clean.
Well TBH, i have found OP3's camera more pathetic than the OPO's. I mean that camera was killer man. The front camera on OP3 sucks, too much. But i don't use camera that much so i only need a reliable camera with good quality, nothing like S7 quality. If you are more into camera and taking pictures, OP# might disappoint you, badly.
I have been very happy with the quality of my camera. Much better than my past phone (Zenfone 2).
Something to keep in mind is that the pictures you take with cameras/sensors of this size will be very reliant on good lighting. Poor lighting = soft/grainy pictures.
Here are some taken with the rear camera. No post editing. These are not even the full resolution (automatically backed up to google photos).
And here is one that was taken from the front camera. (I don't take many selfies, sorry you have to see my mug)

Hey guys this is HTC One X GREAT camera BUG i found recently.

Ok so anyway i found this bug when i was compering S3 vs HoX in deep , for those who missed it you can find it here

As for the bug with camera :
1st how does this bug works:
Simply , it gets stuck between scenes which i found accidentally while comparing HoX Vs My cousins s3 lol.
Anyway to be more specific it uses 2 scenes at the same time which provides great photos @ night , probably best 2012 phone @ day and Night INDEED is HOX. and i'll dare to say it comes close to HTC One with this Bug.
Important: this bug works ONLY with SENSE ( maybe miue roms as well ) and i found this bug on 3.18 base ( also working with 3.19 base ) for those still on ICS idk would it work there or at lower bases probably does.
How to use this BUG/GLITCH:
Outdoors night photos
> Open camera
> Turn off flash
> Chose NIGHT scene
> Chose HDR mode
Click to collapse
> Take a photo
This bug will add you an extra 100-300% more light to your photos. For even MORE light i'd say 50/100% more light do this:
After taking the photo , go to gallery>edit and AUTO ENCHANT it.
NOTE:
After this if you see boost in your display regarding brightness = bug is applied. Take a pic but be VERY VERY STEADY , even little movement will up the photo.
NOTE:
If you don't see improvement from the start you gotta REPEAT the process , sometimes it takes more then 1 time to get this bug working.
Also you must notice this: When you apply NIGHT scene you should see CAMERA being LAGGY when moving , after switching to HDR if it stays laggy and gives more light = bug is working 100%
For indoor photos with bug
> Turn ON flash ( not auto but ON )
> Chose NIGHT scene
> Chose HDR mode
> Take a photo
NOTE:
If you're using Underclocked CPU i'd suggest you use minimum 1300mhz quad core, with less speed shutter isn't fast enough to catch the light with HDR
BUG with FLASH - 50%-150% more light then normal flash light photos:
Ok this bug works similar as first one.
> Open camera
> Turn ON flash
> Chose NIGHT scene
> Switch to BACKLIGHT scene
> Take a photo
Note:
When you switch to NIGHT mode you should see your camera being LAGGY , after switching to BACKLIGHT scene if your camera stays laggy = bug is working.
TIPS:
1. Try to be still when taking photos especially with HDR BUG.
2. For more light use after taking the picture gallery effects - auto enchance , with picassa / instagram you can modify them even more to be even better.

Recommended GOVERNOR for this bug is INTERACTIVE + Deadline or RoW scheduler.
IMPORTANT
Q) Will this bug crash/kill my camera ?
A) I don't know , i've been using it for over 2 weeks now everything is working as it should.
If you guys gonna use this BUG would be nice if you could upload some samples as well
So NOTE if you gonna use this bug you use it at your OWN RISK so don't blame me if you up your camera.
Thx to Hamdir for testing my bug and providing us professional comparison.
Also thx to neuTrue for enchanting one of my photos to show us what we can do with some more software

HTC One X: Hidden Low Light Abilities (Firmware 3.19.401.1)
Did you guys know the One X has night vision abilities? check this out
Ordinarily the Flash can be used but it casts the photo in blue plus add abnormal shadows, at least you can counter the blue by setting the white balance to Fluorescent before taking the photo
The included Night scene is not as effective, it forbids the Flash, it locks to ISO 1250 and cuts the shutter speed in half for more exposure time, sadly the results are often bad and not useful
But then for very low light and still photos, there is a revelation that is the HDR mode, especially when combined with auto flash it can do wonders, auto flash will smartly use two quick flash bursts to get better exposures for HDR, surprisingly auto flash with HDR does not cast shadows neither does it tint the screen
Finally a bug discovered by Shan89, switch to Night mode and then immediatly back to HDR mode, the shutter will get stuck in slow mode collecting even more light, you can also combine auto flash for killer results!
The bug mode is highlighted below with an *
keep in mind the shutter will be very slow at this point and you need to be very still until the word "processing" appears on screen (to counter motion blur),
Equally the resulting photo will fail to record the correct shutter speed since it's a bug after all
Some of the following results were brighter than my own eyes

This is the best bug i have EVER seen
This is probably a feature, and it work perfectly, I've just tried. See the difference between bug and a feature
Is there some feature to reduce grain in photos in low light conditions, it really anoys me? I've tried sharpness to -2, lock ISO to 100 but it has very little or no effect on grain...
First of all apologies, but do not know a thing, I have installed the mod. lyapota camera, however, I see in the pictures iso 1200, when the max. I see in the mod are 800, I see active hdr mode, I do not see that option in the mod, etc etc, that is what I do wrong?

Hi!
Nice bug!
Can you tell me which rom do you use? Beacuse I have Ordroid 14.0.0, and I don't have Night scene.
This is NO bug
I'm sorry to say so, but this is NO bug, it's a feature. And it's well known to photographers that in Manual mode you can always shoot better photo's then in Auto mode (with any camera).
Actually you managed to post a great tutorial on how to make better pictures, so I would recommend you to change the word "bug" in the title to "enhancement".
Furthermore great job!

Thx but still you're very wrong mate for many reasons , you're right when talking about digital cameras but as far as Hox goes you're very wrong.
1. Hox doesn't even have auto scene / mode selection , it can only change iso , condition , flash and that's about it , it will never chose night scene at night nor it will chose hdr when needed or any other scene / mode.
2. This bug seams to be working only on Hox and Hox+ , guys with snapdragon version reported it doesn't work for them , doesn't work on s3 as well nor nexus 4 , LG optimus etc since I tested it on many devices.
3. If this was a feature as you call it don't don't you think HTC would advertise this when releasing Hox and claim it as the best night camera phone for 2012 ? Cuz trust me none 2012 flagship can match Hox here. And HTC doesn't even know for this.
4. It is a bug for many reasons since you can use 2 scenes only when mixed with night scene we were never supposed to use 2 things at the same time , aside from that you are not able to use flash with night scene nor hdr unless you bug it this way , lastly this would be found out for sure 1 year ago if it wasn't bug and everyone would know about this .

Viper 3.5.4 , I used sd , black pearl , renovate and some other roms as well it works on every Rom based on 3.18 base + , maybe works on lower bases as well , dunno. Shan i saw your new results, you know this trick is using extreme slow exposure so really you need to hold your hand still, try to place your device on a surface
also the normal HDR+auto flash mode gives almost as good results with much faster shutter (the bug even brighter)
This is awesome. Thanks man! The cam's finally putting it's f2.0 aperture to good use :thumbup:

Check out the below article, explains the functions and features.
What is it you're trying to do exactly and what happens?
http://www.htc.com/uk/support/htc-one-m8/howto/473767.html
Actually it is just saying that "duo effects is unavailable for this image"
For every image I take.
I know what are the procedure to take photos for duo effects so thr is no problem in that.
Duo effects are not compatible with manual camera settings. Its likely that you changed some minor & inconspicuous thing that's preventing you from applying duo effects.
Try the following:
- Clear the camera app settings.
- Make sure you don't change any setting, not even the flash.
- Make sure your fingers aren't blocking the depth sensor, and that its clean from greese (a simple wipe will do)
- Test drive the camera and the gallery for duo effects.
Cheers

We're still not ruling out the software side. So, next step: clear data + cache for Gallery, since its responsible for using the depth sensor data to apply effects. Then, when that fails, you still have the tedious task of hard resetting. Then its either a bad rom flash or hardware fault

What about resetting the camera app settings to default?
The option is on the settings menu when in the camera app itself. Do that then just open the camera and take a normal photo without changing any settings and try editing it from the gallery app.
These options need to be set so that duo effects can be used:
Scene Auto
Flash Off
Filters None
Aspect ratio Wide 16:9
Zooming Zoom slider should be at the minimum zoom level.
Continuous shooting Not supported

I had to go in to setup then apps then the gallery. I cleared cache and uninstalled updates. My gut feeling is that it was a gallery update that broke it.

Hi guys, I just got my oneplus 5T today and i want to talk to you about the quality of the photos of this phone and how this camera setup is helping or not ?
For me, it's a waste of the second camera slot to use this "night camera module" ...
First of all i don't see the diference (using the pro mode and switch between the twos) and second, there is no other functions of the phone that use this second camera to improve anything (at least it shoud he use to combine two photos and result in a better pixel quality but since they have the same lens i don't think this helps either)
So what do you think guys ?

In my opinion, I think they should implement the same feature as the essential phone. Using both cameras to create on single and good looking picture. If they can, they could make the main lens take all the details of the image and make the 2nd lens take all of the light and then somehow merge both images to create a perfect one.
Probably never going to happen though......

They can't do it now because "the black and white sensor has had its top layer’s color filter removed. Without it, the sensor is unable to capture color, but its ability to capture light increases by 3x. This is especially helpful with low-light environments."(qualcomm clear sight)

I guess we'll just have to wait for oneplus to release an update improving their camera's performance.....
Or if you look online, you might be able to find a ported google camera with hdr+
I am trying to figure out what, or if, I am doing something wrong. The 2 xl should have a great camera, yet my recent pictures all come out grainy (for lack of a better word). It is worse when viewed on my PC. A couple of examples are attached. I have tried with and without flash and adjusting my room lighting the best I can but nothing seems to clear it up.
Currently I have flash set to Auto and HDR+ Enabled.
What else can I try to clear this up?
(Attachments pending upload from my phone.)
Have you tried to reset the camera app and revert it to its original settings? Under App info, storage, hit clear data.
Hmm I think the photos look nice ?
The first picture looks like you could lower the exposure. That might help a bit.

They look fine to me. Try the same on an S8+ and you'll get worse. That is pretty low light.
Also, don't bother with the flash, absolutely no need with the Pixel 2, picture with and without comes out the same.

Hard to say for sure because I'm not sure exactly how much light was in the room, but those do look a little on the fuzzy/grainy side from my experience. This camera if nothing else is incredibly sharp, yet that is not the case at all in these pics. Have all of your pictures looked this way or only recent pics? I would definitely try resetting the camera app settings to default. If that doesn't work I'd consider a factory reset and if that fails, then RMA.
Hmmm,
Seems like the HDR+ mechanism trying to bring shadow details bit too much, resulting in chroma noise,
You can try to reset your camera app,
Btw, have you updated to 8.1 ?
Thanks to everybody for the feedback. Some more information based on the comments:
Running 8.1 on a Verizon Pixel 2 XL
Did reset the camera app after it was suggested. Not seeing much difference on the same bookcase.
It is not every picture. I have a few closer item pictures that look perfect. To test I snapped one off our back deck during the daytime. The brighter scene is a lot better overall, but you can see the grainy texture in the darker areas.
Hi guys, I bought a Xperia XA2 and is a great device, except for one thing, or the camera, which has problems focusing. Let me explain: when I take pictures with the main camera before shooting the picture seems to focus and presents all the details, while when I go to see the camera taken this is blurred or not perfectly focused. I also tried with the camera manual but nothing changes, and yes, I also tried to put the object to be photographed to more (well over) 12 cm, but nothing. I also took the phone to assistance where I changed the camera but the problem persists. In the end I tried another camera app that seems to have solved the problem, but at the cost of taking pictures in 8mpx. The question then is: how can I resolve this error? And if I can not, which camera app would you recommend? Thank you so much in advance to those who will answer
Send it to the Sony service point to repair.
I've alredy done It but whitout results
May I ask which camera apps did you use?
