Good day,
I have done a lot of searching and have found ways to get better performance but I really need maximum performance for the app I am running to reduce lag.
I have the 2013, rooted on marshmallow and elementalx installed.
The max I can get is 450 on the gpu and 1890 on the CPU. And faster and I get constant reboots.
It doesn't matter if I need a custom Rom I'm prepared to do whatever necessary to get the best performance. Battery life isn't important.
Thanks,
Mike

This one app made the absolute biggest difference. It literally made my Nexus 7 refreshed like it was a new tablet. Now anytime I get a N7, the first thing I do is root, and install this app. Seriously blew my mind how butter smooth everything became.

That is another app of the same thing. Both work fine, do same thing. I Like the first one I posted personally.
Give it a shot, lmk if it helped.
Seems to have helped thanks so much for the response. I'll know forsure in the next few days.

Hi all,
I've got Leedroid and would like to know how the hell people get the 3000+ scores on quadrant ?
I've used most of the roms with a lot of the kernels but the most i get is around 2500 - 2600 , i've heard that the kernel by Kamma is a good one but i'm at a loss as to which one i should use.
So if anyone could point out which one i could use for .
1. Stability.
2. Battery saving.
3. Benchmarking (without smoking my device of course)
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks.

the first thing you need to understand is quadrant is ****, it is not an acurate indication of the speed of your device, a few devs have made kernels that trick quadrant into giving it massive scores, but in reality there kernels are not the best that being said, you wont find a better kernel for stability or speed than leedroids one, it is flawless you can download it here

Have you noticed much difference between 2.0.5 and 2.0.6 kernels? The LeeDroid thread is getting very lengthy to read through these days to catch up on new updates lol!

Yeah the new one is based on the latest kernel source, with the 1.75 libs,

Tbh I use leedroids newest one an its really good, quadrant gets 2500 +
The device is smooth as silk, bit then again it always was.
I didn't know that quadrant was pants, I thought it was a good benchmarking tool.
Confirm that the newest kernel of Lee is the best!but in a few days he prepare a new awesome BFS kernel...
Mmm badly ****ed scheduler. My favourite.
If you want good quadrant, buy the paid app which gives higher scores than the free one. Do the I/O hack which core and lee droids use. Use Leedroid kernel at max freq, performance governor, and finally run it in airplane mode.
Follow all those steps and you will get around the 3000 score.
You should state if you use quadrant standard or advance when posting results as they do differ. Otherwise it's like comparing oranges to mandarins. They are both orange but one is always bigger.

Yea it's just the standard version of quadrant, I thought that it would do the job.
Also i don't want to trick it or actually buy an app just so it can give me higher scores, that's not actually helping at all, i'll try the airplane mode to see if that helps, my phone is rapid anyway so it's only for my own satisfaction and to see how high i could get the score to go to.
Hi there, thinking about getting SetCPU - I have some questions before I do because I hear it can be dangerous?
- I've heard it can brick your phone?
- What if you set it too high?
- Do you personally have to monitor it?
- What are the benefits?
- Use alot of battery?
- Is it really worth using?
- Is it optimized for different phones - example the One X?
Thanks guys!

Hi, i have read that SetCPU cannot view all the cores i have read alot saying that System Tuner works fine you might want to try that.
I used to use SetCPU on my sensation and never hand any issues with it i did not monitor the app at all
Benefits allows overclocking if available in kernel
it can be overclocked and cause some issues such as overheating but if set correctly will be fine doesnt use much battery if any
and no i dont think you can brick your phone
if you set it too high i believe i had to reflash rom nothing major
BTW this is based on my own knowledge and usage
Hope this helps
Thanks man

How much battery life can you save using setCPU?

None in theory, if the CPU is slower it takes longer to go from
idle - process - idle
Faster speeds allow it to get it over and done with faster and get back to idle.
Of course it will at times stop the CPU going higher than it needs too which could save battery.
Under volting will save more batter then underclocking ever will.

Thanks. I have system tuner, but what do I need to do in order to improve battery life?
I have set the governor to powersave. Is there anything else? How would I undervolt using this app?

undervolting requires your phones kernel to support it, currently on these forums there is only one that does but i haven't tested it, sticking firm to the "stock kernel is best" and will do untill the kernels have more time to mature.
you could limit your max speed to 1 GHz, if you are rooted you can use Core control to turn off cores and run your phone as a dual core.

Not to be lazy, but would running the phone as dual core and limiting it to 1 ghz result in a perceptible battery savings? I'm trying to get a feel for how much I should expect custom ROMs to make my One X perform up to par. Thus far, I've installed two custom ROMs and felt like the improvements were all safely in the minor category.
I did install cyanogenmod 7 on a phone last year wow, that resulted in major benefits.

Running on 2 cores stops the phone from using and 2 cores uses less power then 4, playing games and using all cores is over kill 2 cores will run the game without lag use less power and make less heat.
You'll maybe get 10% from doing that but I haven't tested.
Really the only time any of this saves battery is during demanding programs, tegrea has a super low power companion core, for all your power saving needs.

I tried conservative governor while downloading sd files for Nova3 gave execllent results
I strongly advice not to undervolt tegra3
t3 is not like any other chip and UV or OC should not be attempted
OC because the chip is already at the max of its thermals
UV for the same reason n might end up with problems like flicker
changing governors and UC should be enough
I just picked up my Nexus 7, and I have tinykernel installed, and I am now using trickstermod to undervolt my device. I would really appreciate it if someone could screenshot their undervolted settings just so I have something (like a benchmark) to go off of, along with an estimate of how much battery life I stand to gain by doing this. Thank you very much for any help!

Here are the settings I am running my Nexus on. They arent maxed out, I may get some millivolts here or there but its is at least stable. My GPU is running on -150mv
One thing to note is that I have an ACPU BIN 6 CPU.

Did you notice your battery life improved vastly or were the results only marginal?
What do you mean? You mean you have a better binned cpu? How can i see my binning?
These are the stock voltages btw if anyone cares:

With utmost respect to both devs, Franco and Flar, I just can't decide which kernel should I flash LOL. And this is because of this phone. Its so smooth  Well I can certainly live with more smoothness but not less, that's for sure.
Please mention which one you guys are using and what do you like about it.
ElementalX is just so nice. Sweep up and down to wake, terrific kernel manager. Dev is awesome. I've almost ran with it exclusively since getting the Pixel since launch.
I am a Franco fanboi, been that way since my Nexus 6. He is more about battery. You won't see any major speed increases, but it will jump up a bit. Battery life will be amazing. Once everything gets settled with dev on this kernel his app will let you fine tune it. You can boost performance with one selection, boost battery, or run near stock. Plus a million other settings if you want to dig in.
But try them both for a week or so. It's not like it's hard to switch.
They're all so nice and battery-friendly -- everyone of them. I think that goes to show the huge advantage between pure Android vs Samsung's, Moto's, any other.

Is this more battery in trade with performance/smoothness? Or just additional magic?

I'd like to know this as well. I'm in the process of chosing a kernal also.
I've compiled Resurrection Remix with over clocked CPU (@2.2ghz) and GPU (@800mhz) and it's not that much of an improvement. I'd say PUBG runs little better now and some improvement in benchmarks. Well, I wasn't expecting miracles either but let me know if anyone wants an over clocked ROM or kernel. I am trying to add exfat support (I'd be happy if any devs can help me with that) as many user wants but I'm getting nowhere for now.
I can even take it to next level with CPU @2.4ghz and GPU @850mhz but I think that would be overkill.
I'm interested

I think it's little less than the stock ROM but now it depletes faster while gaming (as gaming pushes all cores to max).

Nice. That kernel would be great to VR
Well , good idea is to make only OC kernel and then setup it via kerenel audiutor eg. -- OC @ gpu would be nice because it is weakest part of MZP . I've just made benchmark on stock oreo antutu 7.1.3 = 75716 pts. while on latest Cosmos 3.2 rom result was 81703 pts.
i would be interested in a undervolting one

Under volting is not a good idea, it creates a lot of issues. To increase battery life use smart pixels, build prop tweaks and also amplify and greenify. However for screen on time, lowering resolution and smart pixels are best options.

Yeah, nice idea
I think stock runs on 8.0 while Cosmos on 8.1 so that might've improved it somewhat,
I wish if there was some tweak to OC GPU of normal ROM.

I think a kernel with overclocking possibilities would be nice. In fact, what I would really love was to see a port of Elemental X or Blu Spark kernels.
