Does the Pixel / XL come with a built in blue light filter feature or something like it or will we have to install a 3rd party app to get it?
Sent from my SM-N930V using XDA-Developers mobile app
I believe it will be hidden in the System UI Tuner like it is in the 6P - so no 3rd party app, but not as straightforward as on other devices (like the Note 7 - RIP).
I have read from a few places that the Pixel will be getting Night Light but can't really find any info on it.

It is supposed to be built into 7.1 (which Pixel/XL come with).
See here.
Here is pertinent info from above: All devices running 7.1 will receive Night Light (a blue light filter)
I confirm, it's part of Android 7.1 and it's called Night Light. (and available in the Display settings, not hidden in any way).

Is there any way or tweak I can install that will allow the notification led to light up while charging and possibly have different colors (red for charging and green for full charge) ?

LightFlow will allow you to do exactly that, plus more. Paid version is worth it.

perfect and works like a charm much appreciated!

Looks similar to the nexus 4 to me, except that it's only white.

Install an app called "LightFlow" to enable colored LED notifications.

The Dev of LightFlow will have to get the device first before he can make his app compatible with it! Come on people!
The nexus 4 led is only white as well on a stock setup. Once you root and install cm/lightflow gets updated, it enabled the other colors.

False. No root was necessary. Light flow worked for the nexus 4 immediately out of the box to give multi colored notifications, just as it did for other devices such as galaxy nexus and droid RAZR.
Maybe an update will fix multi colored notifications on nexus 7, but I'm just saying there have been many devices for which neither an update nor root was required.

False. See above. Some are compatible out of the box.
BTW I'm fine waiting, I'm mostly just asking if anybody knows whether this may be a hardware limitation, ie, the light only physically supports white?

Read it again. I said you can root and install cyanogenmod 10.1 which has native support for multi color LEDs. But since that's not available, the lightflow update is necessary

As the title says, I'm not able to turn on blue light filter from settings or quick tiles. Nothing happens when I toggle the feature.

Nope. Can't access options either. Can't even toggle it on.

To fix go to Settings, Accessibility, Vision, and turn off Color adjustment.

I find it useful that's it's built into the device and I use it. I had to use a program called twilight to achieve the same results on my previous note 4. I'm one of those people that blue light affects at night so it's win for me.

Thanks! I have a Galaxy S4 running on a DarkLord N7 ROM and I didn't know why it wasn't turning on!
Lightning Notifications might be one of the coolest features of curved displays, so I wonder, is there an app or hidden mod that could allow control over these settings?
So far, any apps I've found are only for calls, but I'm more interested in my other notifications, like Facebook, WhatsApp etc and being able to chose the color or pattern of each.
Any help appreciated.

Wow. That's pretty great. I'll try it out to see if i go for the full version.
Could there be another one which mimics the stock patterns a bit better? Just wondering...

No, you can't. The percentage is now displayed next to the battery icon when selected in settings/battery. This is much better.
That's an opinion, but, thanks
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It is an opinion. Nothing more. I say it's better because I can actually read the percentage now.
I wish we could get rid of the battery icon and just use the % text. The icon is worthless.
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Agree, like my percentage but not icon....
yeah i really wish there was an option to take the battery icon away since i use the text.
i've gotten to the point i just block out that image when i'm looking at it lol
