Bricked? help - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Phone WAS soft bricked. Could only boot into fastboot because recovery and OS were both deleted. Using the hard brick guide worked like a charm

LOL!
Leaving the original post and adding how you solved the issue would have helped someone else facing the same issue. Instead you had to go and delete the OP itself!

[Q] After flashing new ROM, the phone won't boot

Hello guys,
I'm no stranger to this forum since i've advised it from pretty much anything but this is my first time posting due to a critical situation.
I decided to root my phone (DHD, 2.3.3 Gingerbread), and while the root procedure and S-off procedure went smoothly.
When i flashed a rom to the phone, this rom to be exact http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077180, the installation was completed and now the phone hangs on boot screen (white screen with HTC letters just that) for a 10+ mins.
i cannot access it in any way i know of.
i would like to ask if there are any options here to fix this issue
Thank you in advance!
The best way to start would be to boot your phone into recovery. When you first power on the device, as you're holding the power button, also hold down the Down Volume button. This should allow you to get to the menu to then boot into recover. From there you should be in CMW, which you can then try re-flashing the ROM, see if that solves your problem.
Thank you for your reply, zidane. what you suggested worked like a charm and i now have a working phone again.
at least now i know how to resolve certain issues but i hope this incident will be the only bump in the road!
Take care mate!

When you install a Different Rom from the one you have installed it is always advised to do a FULL-WIPE

Also, the first time a new ROM starts it will take quite a long time so dont pull the power

You welcome, glad i could help. I had the same issue a few times flashing a ROM, the first time i panicked xD But it's easy to resolve. Also make sure to follow the tips above. They're useful !
my DHD is having the same problem and ive tried reinstalling the rom but that didnt fix it

This problem mostly occurs if you didn´t do a full wipe before installing. Try doing a full wipe, and then reflash the rom. That should resolve the issue
i did a full wipe even tried 2 different roms still nothing
Sorry for hijacking your thread but what's the procedure to do a fullwipe?

Many thanks for the reply. I'm pretty new to the scene and appreciate the help. Currently flashed two ROM's so far without a full wipe and haven't run into any trouble but I will be sure to do it next time.
Thanks again!

[Q] [HELP] Unresponsive menu and back buttons

It seems that my menu and back button is possibly broken cause it is not working in "some time". Working then few min, not working.
So is it a hardware problem? or firmware problem? possible conflict in firmwares? I noticed it when i flashed DXLC1 from DXLB1. I've try hybrid v3.0 and repencis v3.0, same problem occurred.
Anybody have the same problem?

I dont think flashing would damage your buttons. Its not the problem with only you. It happens with me too but a restart resolves it. Have you ever dropped your phone or something?? That could be the only possible reason for that problem
if only they put the question if FAQ section...this forum will looks nice and they'll get the answer.

might be a hardware issue; still, have you tried flashing another baseband, just to see if it changes anything? and please, don't ask me on how to flash a baseband, plenty of guides around here (hint: stickies, general and q&a forums)

Stuck in bootloader

So yesterday I was taking a look to xda developers when I saw a post with cyanogen mod 14 for the Nexus 5x so I installed it. Everything went ok but after looking at the OS for a bit I thought that the OS i had was better (it was nougat 7.1.1, beta program) so before installing cyanogen mod i had made a backup of my older system. I tried to restore the backup but when i tried to turn on the phone it froze when booting, and that started happening over and over, it turns on shows google logo starts booting and freezes, turn of, turns on ....
I've tried to install many diferrent roms from here xda, the normal ones in root toolkit and nothing works, every rom freezes when booting. I've wiped the phone i've done everything i could do in TWRP.
Please if someone out there can help i would be very thankful.
Im sorry for bad english!

Read this carefully, at the end there is a tutorial how to flash stock. It's number 9 or 10. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206930/page150

Yes but be careful what version of Nougat it is and try to match the vendor accordingly.

I done step 10 as you said to do from that post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206930) then i installed the rom and know its basically happening the same thing that happened in first place.
I probably done something wrong installing the rom.
I've done factory resets several times in stock and custom recoverys

Or it's a hardware issue. Apparently, a lot of 5x are dying suddenly and lately. Try the factory reset first before you flash stock again.

I'll do as you say, but if i can´t solve this i'm kinda screwed because i have no possibilities to buy another phone and i have this one for like 3 months, i have to solve this, i really do. Thanks for all the help! Really appreciated.
Ran into the same exact problem as OP, while restoring 7.1.1 backup when coming from MIUI 8 rom.
Same stuff when completely restoring to stock/installing a different rom etc.
Mike, did you restore EFS from TWRP backup? I have a feeling that it gets corrupted and it wont let the device boot anymore.
Because TWRP runs absolutely fine and even the file manager in it works perfectly, which indicates that it may not be similar to the hardware issue which people might be having.
Phone restarts after first loop of the bootscreen (after all the blue-red-yellow-green dots have turned to their initial size), correct?
Edit: See post #14 for fix.

Anyway I did not manage to get it to boot again, I recommend you restore to stock via fastboot and lock your bootloader before you take it to warranty.

I restored through TWRP the backup i have then when i turned it on the dots just stoped the animation then the phone restarted and it just kept restarting over and over again. The problem is that the warranty ended few months ago, so or i solve this problem or i lose my money.
(I only have the phone for about 3/4 months but the warranty was almost over when i bought it(online))

It seems you made the same mistake as I - You backed up the EFS partition and restored it. I read that this function does not work correctly with TWRP 3.0.2-1,2,3. It will corrupt your EFS partition.

Follow the first post exactly (even though its from the 6P thread), and it will get fixed .

Helll, i have HTC 10 and i installed Ice rom in my phone before few months. Suddenly after the instslation my notif. Bar stopped working. I tried to reinstall but it didnt help.
In the painting screenshot you can see that i cant even do something in the top part of the screen.

I'm assuming you didn't make a stock backup before flashing a custom rom. Grab a ruu from the thread below that matches your mid/cid, and your firmware version (or higher). That will bring you back to full stock, but will also wipe your phone so make everything up.
