NX5 or OnePlus One?
Travelling to Italy, 2 weeks.
I love my new N5X. The camera is outstanding. Better than my pocket camera. And that's important for a traveller.
However, battery life is not impressive (idle is great, no noticeable loss of battery while not using it). I get 2:30-3 screen hours.
My OnePlus One has an outstanding battery. I get 6, maybe 7 hours of screentime, idle is great too.
But the camera is... OK, in certain light or hours. And it's pathetic at night time.
Also, the OnePlus has 64 gigs, while my N5X has a mere 16.

If you spend 7 hours looking at your screen during your vacation, you're doing it wrong.
If good photos are important to you, buy a real camera. If they are somewhat important to you, use the 5X and buy a small external battery pack. If you want to look at the photos your friend posted of the Colosseum on Facebook while you are at the Colosseum take the OPO.
Hi all,
I am thinking of buying Oneplus 3. Currently i have Nexus 5. It's a great phone running Android 7 AOSP. It's 3 years mobile and battery life is no so good.I get around 2 hours of SOT. I do facebook, instagrams, some light games and clash of clans (mostly). Will i get 4+ hours of SOT daily with like 1-2 hours of clash of clan, facebook and some music? I really like to buy Oneplus 3 but my only concern is battery life and future updates. Will Oneplus 3 be updated to antoher 2 years minimum or will it be stuck on Android N only?
Are there any users upgraded from Nexus 5? How are your experience using Oneplus 3 after the upgrade? Please share your experiences.

I upgraded from the nexus 5 when op3 came out. The software updates I would say are a little consistent. But we have not received Nougat yet. On the bright side the oneplus developer community is great.
Battery life is a lot better than Nexus 5. You will get 4+ hours sot. But it depends a lot on your cellular strength and if you are going to use your phone on wifi or on lte.

I own a nexus 5 for the last 3 yrs and now have upgraded to oneplus 3 .
Battery life is much better . I usually charge my phone in the morning around 8 am and at 8 pm i'm still left with 30% .
To compare my nexus with same usage pattern would usually run out by 4 or 5 pm .
What I have learnt by owning the nexus 5 is that at the end of the day what you want is performance with a good battery life .
OS Software updates do not matter to me that much now as not much core features are released that you can't live without or are game changers . You can most of the time fill the void with root/custom Roms/ apps etc.
I was always scared of my nexus 5 running out of juice while travelling or when on client side . I used to charge it at least twice in a day .
By comparison oneplus is much much better ....
I also upgraded from Nexus 5. What you get:
- Much better battery life
- Better display (don't worry about sharpness unless you use VR). My advice: use sRGB mode if you're used to the Nexus 5. Otherwise your eyes will burn.
- Much better camera
- Better and louder speaker
- Better call quality
- Faster unlock with your fingerprint (reliable as well)
- Better multitasking
- Better gaming (faster GPU and bigger screen)
- A more beautiful phone
What you don't get:
- Massive increase in speed (Nexus 5 is just very fast already with stock Android)
- Better software support, although I always mess around with different ROMs and there are plenty for OP3!
- Sharper display (but apart from VR really, really not necessary anyway...)
- Better audio quality through headphone jack (about the same I'd say)
I think it is really worth it! I love the battery life and I still love trying different ROMs! Plus an amoled screen is awesome
Personally, I think the only phone I might trade my OP3 for right now is the note 7 or S7 edge. But considering the price, there simply is no competition for people who want root and a great software experience!
I also came from a nexus 5 and can confirm all the above comments, managed about 2.5 hrs SOT on the nexus on a good day but the oneplus 3 I'm getting easily 4 to 5 hours per charge (and dash charge is ridiculously quick) the soc and the screen are more efficient than the nexus and the battery is 700 mAh larger so it's no surprise it lasts longer. What does surprise me is that I got max 8 hours SOT from an uleFone power that has a 6050 mAh battery so wasn't expecting the oneplus 3 to do 11/16 the SOT with 1/2 the capacity.
simple answer. yes. its a great upgrade.
I don't have a nexus 5, but I had a nexus 6..
Thank u guys for all the feedbacks. Will be getting my Oneplus 3 very soon.

congrats. good decision
Hi.
Last week I upgraded from Nexus 5 to Oneplus 3 as well. To be honest I don't see battery life much better (on nexus I use Krexus rom + bluspark kernel) and on oneplus 3 stock soft for now... Screen on oneplus 3 is amazing, camera much better, sound much louder, dash charging is amazing fast!, software is really good, as good that I don't have to put custom rom for now (most features important for me is build in already but still looks like stock android with is great!).
The only think i don't like in oneplus 3 is metal body because it's very slippery in hand, I know a lot of people love metal look but nexus 5 body was maybe not looking so good but much practical...
anyway I really like my oneplus 3! I can recommand
it's only my opinion ofcourse
Regards,

bluetooth is on all the time (LG urbane watch), screen brightness is set on half, SOT time is around 4h so yes it's better. but my nexus 5 was screen bightness set to minimum.... anyway oneplus 3 is really great

Thankx a lot for feedback. I think 4h+ screen time will be enough to last a day for me. I was worried you are getting onle 2-3 hours like in Nexus 5. :good:
I finally bought Oneplus 3. Here are my thoughts compared to my previous Nexus 5:
1) Display is good, No pixels visible with my eyes. But i liked my Nexus 5 display more.
2) Sound is louder than Nexus 5
3) Battery easily lasts 4 to 5 hours with my uses pattern.Good but not great as expected.
4) Performance is very good compared to Nexus 5.No surprise.
6) Getting used to physical navigation buttons.( intended to use physical buttons for full screen visibility) and also fingerprint scanner
7) Liked the built quality which feel solid compared to nexus 5.
Overall, very good upgrade from my Nexus 5. Haven't unlocked bootloader and rooted yet. Will tinker a bit after i get bored with Stock ROM. Also hoping to get faster Android updates than other OEM.
Hello everyone,
I know this is a P2 thread but if anyone has experience with both devices, or has read about this, please give me some infos.
I already googled but there's everything. Thats why I wanted to ask the "real" user of this device.
So, I ordered myself a Redmi Note 4, the snapdragon version. I have to wait for a week maybe.
But still, I know that Redmi Note 4 is about 50€ cheaper, but, which device is better?
I think that P2 has better battery life (SoT) because of that 5100 mAh battery but, how are the other things?
I know that RN4's camera in daylight is okay, but in lowlight "terrible". How is the P2's camera?
And about the speed, which device is faster? Gaming isnt important for me. Just App opening, YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp and such.
Is the P2's software reliable and does the phone feel "premium" in hand?
One IMPORTANT thing more, this is a dealbreaker for me.
Does P2 support LTE Band 20? For me in Germany it is a must.
If the P2 is really so much better, I would not care about those 50€. I just wanna a phone with great battery life.
Although I already ordered RN4, I could sell it and buy myself a P2 if its the 50€ worth.
Thanks!
I HAVE NOT USED ANY OF THE 2 PHONES
Anyway.....the P2 seems to do Band 20 while the Redmi Note 4 doesn't seem to (according to Gsmarena, anyway). I think the speed should be rather similar - where the P2 is better than the Note 4 seems to be in non-performance things like the battery (as you've written) or possibly the AMOLED screen which seems to be better than the Redmi Note 4's LCD (albeit IPS).
Something possibly in the P2's favour in terms of speed is the fact that Xiaomi modifies the OS a lot more from Google's Android than Lenovo nowadays does.
People don't seem very impressed with the P2's camera at all - don't know how it compares to the RN4 though.
The P2 definitely supports Band 20 as I use it on the Three UK network that uses 3 and 20 and no problems.
I had considered the Redmi Note 4 too but the lack of band 20 support and the potential poor build quality and support put me off.
The screen on the P2 is very nice and the battery life makes up for any other shortfalls. The camera is nothing special but I'm happy with it.
1. The P2 has better SoT...of course..with the huge 5100mah battery.
2. The P2 has better visibility in sunlight due to its AMOLED screen.
3. Due to #2, the battery consumption by the screen is lighter if you were to use a dark/black wallpaper. Just google AMOLED vs IPS LCD.
Alright, thanks y'all, for Infos.
Just to make it clear, I ordered a Redmi Note 4 with Band 20 support. That is why I asked about the Band 20 for P2.
But still, are you guys happy with P2 in terms of speed?
Battery is good anyways, I know that.
For camera I don't know. That's why asked if someone uses/used both of these devices.
Does the phone start to lag after some time? Does it feel (after some time) differently? I mean feel in terms of usage of buttons etc.

FYI...
Having used P2 and RN3, I found the User experience, battery optimisation, Ram optimisation, battery life, UI a lot lot better for the Lenovo P2.
Also I don't know about the camera, also I don't care about that much, but it does the job pretty well and for me it's pretty good.
The build quality seems better for P2 and the costomer support is good out here. So I'd choose P2 over a cheaper RN4.
Honest opinion? They are both on par to each other.
The hardware is identical and thus both devices equally good or bad.
In terms of software support they are both more or less equal as well as both have unofficial Lineage OS builds available, although the Note 4 one is more complete than the P2 one at the moment.
At the end of the day though it doesn't make much of a difference. I personally am still running on an Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 PRO Special Edition phone running Lineage OS 14.1 and only charge the phone twice per week.
If you however do decide to get rid of the Note 4, do get in touch with me as my wife needs a new phone anyway.
Alright, thank y'all 3.
To be honest, I used MIUI on my lg g2 and I dont have any problems with it. I found it cool tbh. After years and years of Cyanogenmod, it was cool to see something else
I mean, I think that both phones are "equally" fast. I dont care about that 0.01 second difference.
If everything goes well with the RN4, I will flash Lineage OS anyways. So the software is not a problem.
I just want that my phone makes the 8 hours of SoT, whatever I do, which I think should not be a problem for both of those devices.
Lenovo P2 may make it even more than 10 SoT, but if the difference is "just" 1 hour in SoT, thats not a dealbreaker for me.
Just a question for you two @Siva Mk and @MrColdbird
How much SoT do you get with both of your devices? Are those 8 hours SoT possible?
@MrColdbird,
can't promise I will sell the phone right away. I wanna test it out and eventually flash the Lineage OS later.
We have to wait for about 1-2 weeks for that bootloader unlock. Thats why the phone is going to stay lil bit longer in my pocket!
@chorba69 I can reach 9-10 hours of SOT on my Redmi Note 3 PRO Special Edition phone easily with Lineage OS 14.1.
In fact its more or less a given for me, which means I don't have to try hard (disable random ****) just to reach that.
So yeah... its not a question of reaching 8 hours, its more of a... do you want 12 hours (P2) or are 9-10 (RN3 PRO SE / RN4 PRO SE) good enough for you?
While I don't have a P2 or RN4 PRO SE myself (yet), I've heard from several friends that jumped ship for the RN4 PRO SE that it more or less performs identically to the RN3 PRO SE, which means my input should apply to your case just as well.
The last I got was 12 hrs sot
@MrColdbird,
10 hours of SoT should do the job for me.
I heard the same about RN3 and RN4. Just, afaik RN4 has lil bit higher SoT than RN3. It because of the 625 Snapdragon. Its almost equally fast as 650 Snapdragon, but the battery managment ist better.
Thats why a RN4 user should get more SoT than RN3 user.
Just yeah, there is a thread here in P2 forums, where people posted screenshots of SoT.
Some have reached 16 (!!!) hours of SoT. Thats why I thought of getting a P2 and selling the RN4. 6 hours SoT more for just 50€ is A LOT in my opinion.
They said it was normal use which means web browsing, youtube, facebook and bit gaming.
I dont know if thats true nor I can confirm it, but those 16 hours SoT more on P2 are really amazing.
I'm not sure if RN4 can achieve that. Maybe 12 hours but not more.
On another note, I think that noboy of us need more than 10 hours screen on. I would charge my phone every night anyways.
Or at least I think so because my lg g2 is over the night on a charger. Maybe I will change my mind when the RN4 finally arrives!
@Siva Mk,
P2 or RN3?
@chorba69 I charge my RN3 PRO SE twice a week (sometimes three times, especially when power-using it over the weekend when I'm off).
So yeah... your charging habits might change if you are coming from a < 4000mah device.
@MrColdbird,
alright thanks.
Just, you are then not a power user or?
I mean I spend over 5 hours per day on my phone.
Whole day at work a bit (8 hours) and then when I come home I dont use my laptop/PC since I can do everything on my phone.
Thats why I think I am gonna charge my phone every night. Maybe with RN4 every second night.

german user here ...
just got my p2 like a week ago ( last sat ) and i am still running the first charge....
current stats are
25% remaining charge
4 d 20h "device on"
4 h 30 min display on
- gps, bt, wifi, auto brightness, all push on
- paired with android wear ( so my screen on is a bit lower because i can check stuff on watch )
pretty happy so far.
lovely device, haven't experienced any bugs with stock nougat
annoying for 14 days unlock bootloader wait
lte (vodafone prepaid) working fine
before i have seen a lot of deals of the xiaomi redmi note 4 and was almost into that one, but i rather prefered the bigger battery and emui is quite **** ( came from that from another device )
speaker quite clear it's a breesze to watch some videos ( except htc m7 the second device which has actually good sound )
ask me anything...
p2 on amazon several times for 230€ ( fr or it ) - actually got 3 devices in like a month ( few friends wanted too, they got it first) rather wanted to complain at amazon if anything goes on within 2 years.
xiaomi redmi 4 is sold on gearbest for like 150-160€ with UK to Germany shipping but i don't like that shop...
I love my P2. I have an iPhone 6S Plus and an LG V10 too. But they have been unused for weeks. The P2 is special with its battery life. Very smooth in operation and it feels good in the hand. Very good screen with great outdoor visibility even in brighter days. Camera is OK nothing more. The only weak point really. It's good enough in good light though.
I constantly get 15 hours screen on time with my P2 over three days full usage.
@endrancer, @dannejanne,
daamn guys you are gonna make me sell the Redmi Note 4 before it even comes to my house lol
Everything you have said is just good. I mean okay, Camera could be better but Redmi Note 4 camera isnt better either so that is not a big deal between those two.
The only "problem" is; nobody of you two ever used RN4 right? I mean, you cant give me a comparasion between those two because you have never used the RN4.
But, how does the P2 feel in the hand? slippery or its cool? or you have a phone-case?
I've watched a lot of youtube videos and the only thing I have noticed (thats worth mentioning) is the battery, which is obvious.
P2 might be 0,1 seconds faster but I dont care about that. And thats maybe just because of the software.
If both had a LineageOS, it would be the same (I think at least).
And about the price on amazon/gearbest @endrancer ;
I found some offers for P2 on ebay for 180-190€. 3 weeks old but without scratches = almost new.
And yeah, I bought the RN4 on gearbest for 147€. for 10€ a cool case and 2 screen protectors. that meanst for 160€ everything I need.
P2 ist about 50€ more expensive but yeah. If 50€ is for 5 hours SoT more, then I would get it. If it is for 1-1.5 hours more, I think I'll pass.

No I have not used the RN4. Only other Xiaomi phones such as the Mi Max and Mi Mix.
It feels great in the hand. Very solid. Build quality like any flagship. The back is anodized aluminum and it is not slippery at least not for me. Some aluminum phones can be slippery. Not this one. I go all naked. You simply don't get anything better for the money today really. It's a fantastic allrounder that is impossible to kill in one day.
And yeah the speaker is AWESOME. Very full sound with bass even. For the first time I use the phone as a mini stereo from time to time.

it's up to you to judge.
the device feels good by itself - comparing other devices with a huge battery ( like elephone p8000 with 4000mah ) p2 is really slim and light having even bigger battery.
p2 has a few roms but i wonder which sub-community is more active and stable.
something to consider as well - i have seen there's replacement batteries available for 25-30€ for p2, however i am still to find a guild/video to see if it's easily replaceable. the only video i have seen is to change screen which looked pretty easy to do - not sure if battery is accessable.
as i said before redmi 4 is a good device it was in my considering as well, but in case there is anything going on with the device you do not have any chance with gearbest.
performance wise, i am not hardcore user... i guess snapdragon 625 is a mixture between good performance and efficient battery. hence hardcore gamers won't get their take on that device, but for everything casual ( even if gaming ) it's good enough. stock rom isn't boated, a few apps may need to be uninstall, everything has been working buttery smooth.
many people already state the camera is bad. for now i have taken like 2-3 shots only as i have way better camera which support wifi and this is not a concern. to send a picture over whatsapp/messenger it's good enough.
several users as read here do not feel the need for custom rom as everything is super good. for myself i am willing to get rooted first, the rom is fine by itself, still want to have backup options though.
i guess in the end it comes up to you. noone will be able to tell you if you, on your usage will get this or that more battery time. number wise if redmi has 4000mah and p2 has 5100 mah you should have approximately 20% more battery lifetime.
i am not sure about the specs. make sure to compare the right device, as there are several subversions of the redmi note 4 ....
mediatek processor? deca core might want to suck some battery compared to the sd625
screen wise it's LCD vs Amoled, since amoled on black /off pixels does not suck battery, who knows p2 has the edge here?
battery wise, there's a test that it charges quite superfast, even if you were run out of battery, within one hour charging you are set for the day...
lastly on the p2 i also like the ultra power savings switch. especially when going to bed you can just flip the switch and turn off all (except signal) ... let's say this is a mute function 2:0.
in the end you could just try out the xiaomi, with the price it comes, you can easily sell it for almost the same after 2-3 weeks... if you loose 20 €... who cares...
I have the p2 and had a rn4 also. Prefer p2. I don't like finger sensors on the back as much better on front plus also having a zuk z2 I love the u touch button and hate on screen ones. Shame on screen buttons can't be fully disabled.
Screen is nicer on p2 and build feels better to me, nicer in the hand. Battery is awesome. I had a Le max 2 up to last week and never got more than 4hrs sot. I sold that to get a one plus 3t but decided to give p2 a try. Performance is not that far behind the Le max 2 with sd 820 in every day use and I was expecting it to be way slower.
I am not a big photographer so this camera seems good to me. Every pic taken looks good.
Don't forget Nfc on p2 too. I use contactless payments all time now and works perfect.
One of best phones I have owned tbh.
Hello Guys,
I'm going to USA in september, unfortunately I'll back to Brazil before the Pixel 3 launch.
Import from things in Brazil it's expensive, then I'll buy a cellphone in my travel, but I don't know if I buy a Pixel 2 XL or a Galaxy S9.
I'm would like to know if still worth it a Pixel 2XL.
Thanks.

Pixel 2XL all the way.
Here's the latest similar XDA thread with info here
That's a good reference galaxys pointed you to. I sold my P2XL and bought an S9+. I won't say it was a HUGE mistake but if we weren't a few months from the P3 I'd sell the Samsung & get another Pixel. I liked it a lot, looking forward to the next one.
Pixel all the way. Had before S8 plus, and this one is spaceship for battery, smoothness and camera wow!

My Mrs has the S8+ which is definitely a very nice device. Beautiful screen and hardware. However, when it comes to battery life compared to my P2XL, it's not even close. On average, she'll get about 4-5 hours of SOT a day, and be at about 20-30% of battery left in the tank after about 16 hours of up time, so she charges it up every night. My P2XL will average 8-12 hours of SOT over close to 48 hours of up time. Having said all that, we use our devices differently. I don't do any social media at all, she uses instafacegraham:silly: from time to time, and talks a fair amount to family. There are times as well where she gets random battery drain for no apparent reason, and the Sammy bloatware apps always seem to be doing something in the background. Granted, the 8+ isn't rooted like my P2XL, so she can't use TiBu or My Android Tools or magisk modules to turn things off. She also likes the fancy AOD clocks and themes that show up on the lock screen, which I think definitely sucks more juice, but they do look nice. So I reckon it all comes down to what you like and how you use your device, I will also say that with the more aggressive edge display of Sammy, that the cases that are available don't protect very well if you drop it on the screen. She's been lucky so far with most all of her drops being on carpet, whereas I've dropped mine a dozen or so times on concrete, but the Caseology vault series case I use has done a stellar job of keeping my device and screen in tact. So there is my opinion of the 2 devices. In the end, I prefer function over flash. So...the P2XL all the way :good:
I'd had both. I sold my p2xl for a s9+. Went back to the pixel 2xl. Here's what I can tell you...The sammy had a better screen, messages and dialer were million times better (they actually tell you who is texting you or calling you), internet browser is better, and theme engine (which I used the Android P beta one on it and loved it). The pixel...updates and better camera. Battery life was similiar between the two. The samsung had much better bluetooth ability in my truck (my pixel skips and **** in the truck). No need for a dongle for a headset. BUT...my unlocked Sammsy was on Feb update (which they JUST updated now). So, it's really a personal pick. I miss my sammy, but I like knowing I'm on the latest security patch too. And the unlock button is still miles better than the sammy.

Whattt 8 to 12 hours of SOT. What do you do to get that kind of battery life?
Also how do you think the P20 Pro compares to the Pixel 2 XL in battery life and usability etc?

I'm mostly just a browser and contributor on XDA. I don't use social media, or watch a lot of YouTube, and the phone gets to sleep quite a bit since I'm retired and it's not always moving on my person. As far as the P20 goes, I have no idea since I've never used it

Regardless how phone is used 12 hours of SOT is insane.
You must have rooted and modified it because I don't see how else this is possible.

Oh I'm definitely rooted! There's a magisk module I use to knock down some of the 4,674 background services that google play services uses(sarcasm:silly)and I use another app called My Android Tools to stop a few others. But honestly, it's mostly all about usage patterns, signal, wifi, brightness, and lack of movement that gives me those numbers. I'm the rarity, not the norm
If I wasn't on Verizon now, I would be with OnePlus still, or even considered moving to something like the Xiomi Mix 2S, which supports VZW, that was just released.
OnePlus Deb support and path they are taking is really nice. Loved my 5T.
My only real complaint with the Pixel 2 XL is the fat and thick edges and feel compared to Samsing and OnePlus, and a few other phones today. It feels dated right after release IMO compared to competitors and chunky in hand.
Otherwise, Pixel 2 still a great choice.
I'm trying to decide between these two and and battery life (SOT) will be the deciding factor for me. I've never owned an iPhone or a Pixel before so I'm not sure what to expect with the Pro's battery life while the Max has been getting universal accolades for its SOT. I've always been an android guy (galaxy notes mostly) and don't like apple (variety of reasons) but the new 13 pro max has set the standard when it comes to hardware with the best camera & video capabilities and now battery life so I'm reluctantly considering it.
I understand in some ways it's not fair to compare these two flagships considering their price difference so I don't expect the 6 pro to match the Max toe to toe with and that's ok. Since they both utilize an LTPO display though I guess it all comes down to software utilization when it comes to their SOT. On paper and looking at the battery specs- the 6 pro should wipe the floor with the Pro Max but since I've never owned a google phone I'm not sure how that'll translate in real life.
Past Pixel and future 6 Pro owners- what are your expectations when it comes to battery life/ SOT once you get your 6 Pros? Do you expect to come close to a full 2 days battery life before having to charge it? If anyone has owned/ will own both please feel free to share your your SOT experience and which one you feel is better.
In short will the Pixel 6 Pro match or even exceed the 13 Pro Max's battery life?
Thanks!
Android over IOS for me any day, daughter has iPhone 13 pro ,be carefully some features only available if you buy the larger storage options

Gapps, by far, are the worst offender when it comes to battery life. With a little bit of effort and root, you can tame them to a significant degree. With some determination, you can replace them entirely with something that is more supportive of your freedom (I've *completely* replaced all goog with a self-hosted instance of Nextcloud and I don't install gapps -- not even microG).
But here is the thing about battery life. Its not even reasonable to measure it in ways its usually presented, because what it really comes down to is (a) usage, and (b) network connection. Screen on, but doing nothing, will use a lot less battery than screen on, and running video gamez.
As far as camera and video capabilities go... apple people will praise apple. Look for INDEPENDENT and CRITICAL reviews to get something more honest. I really doubt that they have anything on the P6's. Google's been ahead in photography for years now, and its really burning the fruit company since in the before-time, its the ONLY thing they actually had. Now they don't even have that.

Yes if you get the standard storage the cinematic mode doesn't record in 4k ,there's a couple of other little things like that

Without really giving a crap, I'm going to guess that they are going to claim that its because the flash chips are in RAID-0 so won't be fast enough without the bigger (more chips) option.

I agree with most of what you said. Pixels have undoubtedly been the camera champs maybe equaled by more recent Huawei flagships. However there's no question that iPhones have had the best video quality of any one out there for a while now. This is all here and there and I don't really care that much anymore because the gap isn't that big unless you're an enthusiast or someone zooming or pixel peeping (which I'm not... for the most part }
I also agree with you about apps in general but you can nowadays put them in deep sleep so they barely use any in the background for the most part. I don't use a lot of apps but it's interesting since you bring up a good point as to whether ios does a better job than android when it comes to battery optimization. I'll have to do more research on that.
I think different companies like Motorolla, Realme and others have great battery optimization while the mainstream ones less so. Now Apple seems to have made a leap in this regard too. Gsmarena has a great tool to measure overall battery life and just look at this list where android phones (mostly not found stateside) dominate.
Previous Iphones weren't any good when it came to battery life. Apples forum is flooded with people complaining about battery life which is why they spent a lot of time talking about the improved battery life on the iPhone 13. My last iPhone was the iPhone X and it would only last me 6 hours of medium usage.

You're right but talking strictly flagship they've been incrementally improving since the 11 Pro Max. The 13 Pro Max has taken a drastic step forward even more so where I feel mainstream android in general (like Samsung) have to respond or they're going to lose potentially more people like me.
Anyways I see so far no one is predicting how the 6 pro's battery life will compare to the 13 max Pro.
I'll take a leap and say I think the tensor chip coupled with the LTPO display with google's clean android overlay will match the iphone 13 max's battery life

In this COVID day and age where everyone is staying home mostly- not so much. But once you start going outside more you'll need it. Especially if you're an outdoors person like me.
I'm still nostalgic for the days where i use to carry 1 or 2 extra batteries in my wallet and pop off the back to switch them out which literally took 5 seconds. There was a time during a camping trip back in the day when out in the middle of nowhere, everyone's phone died after the first day. Everyone used mine for the next few days. I got lucky when a certain gorgeous gal walked in my tent in the middle of the night to use it and decided to stay after.... aah those were the days
Sorry... friday afternoon and I just popped open my 4th beer
The iPhone 12 lineup has problems with its quick battery drain as compared to other models. The 13 has improved quite a bit, but still not on pair with the s21u

Wait, you can't be serious? The S21 ultra can't hold a candle to the 13 Pro Max and it's not even close. It might compared to the lesser iPhone 13 models but that's not a fair comparison by any sense of the imagination.
I almost went Iphone 13 pro max this gen. Almost. You know why I didn't? No fingerprint sensor. I'm not about to go back to entering my pin every time I want to open my device and masks make face recognition worthless.
Well, the pixel has a lot to live up to. I think it'll beat the iphone in pics. But battery life? I'm getting 2 hours screen on time every 10 percent battery used. Ridiculously good. I hope the pixel can get near that. Doubt it though

We all missd these days
For me, there will be no difference in battery life if there is an hour or hour and a half increase
I won't be outside for 24 hours and when I go out I don't use the phone for more than 6 hours
