Everyone should return this phone if they can. Get in contact with Samsung if you can't. I would not be shocked if they blacklist every phone that is not returned.

Imagine if the Note 7 had a removable battery how easy the recall would be? Send everybody new batteries and call it a day. *MIND BLOWN*

I am infatuated with my phone. I love it more than any inanimate object I have ever know.
Perfection.
However, I feel the need to become more mainstream. I want a tablet.
I want one that has a community like this, i.e. hundreds of devs catering for one device.
Any suggestions are welcome.
If my post is incoherent, ask me what I'm on, and what girl caused it.
Get a galaxy note, or Samsung 7/8.9/10 tab

I'd say pass on note , I didn't like the screens horrible at producing black , its a big issue , I had gray boxes a lot of the time during black parts of video

I would first wait what the Google tablet will bring, personally I also think the new huawei tablet will be interesting.

Daaayyuuummmnnn, don't know about that....
But yea if you're looking for something around 7inch screen size I'd wait to see what Google is gonna offer, if not then perhaps.....

IMO, just wait for the nexus tablet. I've learned my lesson not to get a phone or tab that isn't from Google. Or at least get one from a company that updates quickly like moto or Asus. Samsung is just terrible with updates.

Please don't include Motorola in any list of companies that update quickly. They burnt me badly with the Atrix and their false promises.
On the plus side they did push me back to the Nexus line..

Haha fine. But they are way better than Sammy. Sammy is slow as a snail with updates. They even drop support for their devices faster than you can say money.

I agree with you about Asus though. I just wish Moto and the others would start interacting with their customers and keep them informed. I've got a TF101 and have been really impressed with how Asus have kept people informed. Asus UK even asked what issues we would like them to raise with their engineers when they visited them earlier this year.

Coming from a Defy, I can assure you the moto part is totally wrong ^^. Moto don't care about their customers.

If your not a fan of iPads and want an Android Tab. The Transformer Prime is the Answer !
What is everyone's opinion on launch day phones? Do you think it is safe to go ahead and pre order the phone, or do you think that launch day phones tend to have more problems and its worth waiting a little after launch to ensure that you have a good quality phone.
Thanks for your opinions!

Also, I have my moms upgrade and I can use it if I want. Do you think the sIII will be worth the upgrade over a Nexus?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
You're just looking for support to what you already know the answer. Whether my answer be yes or no, you have already made a decision.

Mommy's upgrade? :what:
...
Why not ask in the SGS3 thread where people might be buying the phone.
Here's my opinion: This has nothing to do with the Galaxy Nexus.
Seriously, stop making these threads.
Considering our phones just launched not to long ago and I'm sure many, just like me, got the phone on launch day and I wanted to hear everyone's opinion. Its a Samsung phone and its the most recent phone they have launched. Chill out. If it bothered you that much you should just over looked it. Hurry everyone freak out!

The Galaxy Nexus is over 6 months old.
Again, this thread has literally nothing to do with our phone. You could post this in ANY forum that isn't SGSIII specific and it'd be just as irrelevant.

Reported.
1. Never buy an Android phone on launch day. Never. Wait a month or two.
2. The GSM Nexus will probably get the next version of Android, 6 months before the s3 does.
3. IMO never buy a cdma device unless that's your only option for network.

Took the note 2 out for a few weeks, we had a good time but ultimately she just wasn't a nexus.
Glad to be back!

dont get me wrong i love AOSP and the nexus series but if i had the note 2 i wouldnt come back to this phone... the n4 maybe, but defiantly not the gnex.. but to each their own, glad you are happy with the gnex :good:
I would agree i would stay with the note but am saving up to buy the note 3 and keep my unlimited data plan. Thanks Verizon.

The battery life on the note is why I kept it. I like everything else Berger on the gnex but that is worthless if I can't use it. I hung on to the Nexus to for ubuntu. Can't wait to try that out.

Well the Nexus will be around for a while. The Note 2 probably won't see many more updates. So in a year, the Galaxy Nexus would still be hip and cool and hanging in there with the latest features of Android while the Note 2 was left behind.
While the idea of a Note (10") with pen features sound great, every time I go into a store to play with one, it sucks. The Pen feature is pretty far behind the actual stylus and while it works well, it doesn't work as good as it shows in the commercials (what does though). To me, the PEN is awesome even if just for a quick doodle or note once in a while... but the Note is just too small to really utilize the pen to its full potential and limits it to just small notes.
The 10.1" Note is cool but it feels sluggish and laggy for some reason. Perhaps it is loaded down with junk like all displays... or it is just sluggish. Personally a 5" is too small and a 10" is too big. If they had a 7" at an attractive price point, we'd probably be talking.
Usually threads like this make me smh, but since I am very curious about the Note2 (I want one) I went ahead and decided to see what you have to say..
I am disappoint.
What the hell was the point OP?!
I would have stayed with the note 2 until the next nexus comes out end of 2013, note 2 is clearly a better phone compared to the gnex, that would have been the most logical thing to do but each to their own.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Whaaaaaaat? with that amazing battery life and all?
the nexus is cool and all but whats the point of having a sh*tload of features if you can barely use them
with the note 2 thats not a problem but well to each their own i guess
im happy with my nexus but the battery life on the Gnote is to drool for(SPECIALLY compared to the nexus battery)

So you're saying that the Note 2 (which ships with 4.1 in case you forgot) won't get any updates? Let's not forget that the GS3 is coming up on a year old in a few months here and got Jelly Bean recently while the Note 2 was released less than 4 months ago. Both the GS3 and Note 2 are their best selling devices by a long shot, I find it hard to believe that they'd abandon updating it within a year, even with newer devices on the horizon.
Well at least with Verizon you'd be waiting 6 months for updates.

For most consumers I'm sure it's hardly a thought. There's no question that it's not at it's end of updates but even if it is, such a popular device is going to get community support. I mean, the Verizon GNote2 has been out for less than 2 months and it's already got a slew of roms and a good amount of development behind it.
Yes, it will eventually lose official support from Samsung/Verizon much like the Gnex will, but where would XDA be if Android wasn't the masterpiece it is today?
If the Note 2 was cheaper, I'd have it, as long as ROMs are chugging out for it.

Keep note 2 an then just sell it when the next nexus phone comes out an get that, hopefully it will still cover the cost or close to it.

I'm starting to really want a note 2 actually
What was going through your mind when you decided to switch back? Sure updates are nice but the last 2 updates have broken features on my nexus. I'd much rather have amazing battery life, quad core processor and a large screen/Spen.

I bought it as a tablet replacement and it is simply too small, so I found myself carrying a tablet and a 5.5in phone which seemed crazy. The battery life will be missed, but a fresh nexus is just as snappy 99% of the time.
I have my Note 2 overclocked to either 1.8 or 1.92 and still get over 48 hours per charge and have had 8 hours screen time more than once even with moderate use over the 48+ hours.
Oh yeah, a little birdie told me Codeworx just ordered his today thanks to some nice people that gave him some healthy donations. Its funny that is the first device where people aren't going crazy waiting for AOKP or a pure AOSP ROM because they don't want to lose features.. that being said, there are some great 3rd party apps to take the place of SPad etc.

Which one should i get? if i get the galaxy note 4 of course i'm going to put stock android on it. but with the nexus 5x i won't have a reason to root it because it already has stock android. i'm having trouble deciding between these two, can someone help.
Note 4 on Aosp will suck

My wife had the Note 4 before a software update made it out of order. Luckily, insurance gave her a free replacement with the Note 5. That being said, she would always comment that my 5X took better pics which I did notice. Overall day to day performance though, I felt like my 5X had more instances of lag than her.

I have owned Samsung phones for the last 8 years. So I have blinders on and don't know much about other phones other than iPhone. I'm looking to leave after this note 7 fiasco. What a good comparable phone to the note? I use my phone all day long for business. Thanks in advance.
