I have a problem when I upgrade firmware, I don't have IMEI now. Normally MTK chipset is possible insert IMEI with mobileuncletools but this terminal noy has CDS Information menu.
Please help me

Thanks, so is a good news, expecially for security patch update.. please check with malwarebytes if adups-fota is updated and no malware

I did a scan and malwarebytes found no problems.
I have since also noticed that after this update the notification LED is working! That was one thing I missed previously. It's still very dim but at least I can see if there are notifications without having to activate the screen.

Everything is ok now
I got my phone on 31/12/2016 and it had installed the previous ROM. After I used my phone for few hours I realized it was installing applications without my permission. Also every time I was using Chrome it was opening itself tabs with SMS premium services. I upgraded the ROM with the links provided on the Cubot forum and now everything seems ok.
Also take a look at that: If you use ES file explorer and search in system apps with the keyword "opera" you will find an application with the name "Opera Mobile Store" signed by *hanhai.hanhai_OHQ. It doesn't look like an official app from Opera. I did some research on google and found out it's probably something suspicious. Malwarebytes and AVG didn't show anything but just in case I deactivated this app. That was the least i could do because I didn't root my phone yet.

I just realized that after this update my current ROM is "CUBOT_6093C_MANITO_V09_20161114_215728" and not the V11_20161205 like yours
Any idea why I didn't get the latest one although I downloaded the same link?
EDIT1: I forgot to mention that before this update I tried a couple days ago this method forum.cubot. net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1166 through my PC! (sorry for the spaces but forum security didn't let me post the link)
EDIT2: Finally I managed to update my ROM. The reason I couldn't do it before was because I had to clean the dalvik memory first. After that the update occured without problems.
Now I've got another question and if anyone knows I would happy to get an explanation. The dialer lacks the feature of direct video calls through the operator. I mean I want to video call someone without using my data plan and apps like Viber or Skype, etc. Why Cubot "forgot" to add this option? I believe it's something very important because front camera isn't for selfies only!

In February I got a notification on my phone that an update was available. "Great!" I thought. The upgrade rebooted during the "optimizing apps" phase after about every 20 apps, which I've never seen on any Android device before. After it finally completed, the version is shown as:

which looked good.
HOWEVER!
After this update, I suddenly noticed popup ads appearing at the bottom of the screen, no matter what app was active, see the two screenshots. Also, about once a day some app I never asked for is installed automatically without any questions! The last couple of days it was UberEATS, before some so-called cleanup app that wanted to remove caches etc. I also get the setup opened on the Security page and a message "Please enable Unknown sources, thx"... the b*st*rds...
Any idea how to fix this? I first suspected a couple of apps I had installed after the upgrade, but those are gone now. Might a factory reset help, or could it really be that Cubot is doing this in the firmware?

Hello wurtelll. I did the same OTA upgrade and everything seems ok. No pop up ads or installing of unwanted apps without my permission. I would suggest you to hard reset. Also smth weird. Before this update, the OTA upgrade app was recognized as virus from the AVG antivirus, but now after the last update the OTA app is ok.

Hi beertodeath, good news that you don't have any problems, that's restored my faith in Cubot a bit. I only installed apps from the Google play store, so apparently that's not 100% safe... I've gone ahead and did a factory reset, and reinstalled my essential apps. Now I'll wait for a week to see if anything weird starts to reappear.

It's been about a week since I did the factory reset and I'm happy to say that I've not noticed any strange things going on, so apparently some app I had installed was the problem. Malwarebytes didn't see any problems though, and I only installed via the Googe Play Store, so that isn't a guarantee for safety, unfortunately...

That's strangely funny but now my phone has the same spam ads like wurtell's one. I didn't even download any new app and the last two days I get spam ads in my screen and in addition some times when I enter the PlayStore i get redirected to random apps like "Super File Manager (Explorer)". I also found on a Russian forum that many people have the same problem. It's pretty strange that almost all owners of Manito started having these spam ads at the same time. I started believing that Manito has built in malware scripts.
Anyway, I contacted with Cubot and they asked me the debugging and logs from MTKlogger and I already provided them with these. I don't want to factory reset my phone again because I already did many resets since December and I hate backing up from the beginning all my settings.
I hope they will find a solution soon and finally make a clean ROM, or even better Cubot will get Google certification (ho ho ho).

cubot manito is my fourth chinaphone. Only one of them (Oukitel u8) was clean. The other: umi diamond and THL T9 pro contained spy software in official updates. The same problem with Cubot Manito now.

Comprehensive Updated MCU List for MTCD Head Units

Compiled list of MCUs for MTCD from 4pda.ru- the website is in Russian.
Exact version numbers of each MCU is currently unknown; only the release date was provided.
These MCUs are for MTCDs with RK3188 CPUs, compatibility with the newer MTCD with Intel x86 CPU is untested.
What is the MCU?
MCU stands for Microcontroller Unit- wiki. The MCU acts as the bridge between the hardware on the head unit and the android system. This allows for special interactions between the vehicle and the head unit that would otherwise be impossible through Android. For example, backup camera view can be activated even if the android operating system hasn't finished booting up. However, the nature of the setup inherently includes a major drawback because the MCU is proprietary. This means software relating to the MCU can only be updated by the specific manufacturer/seller of the head unit. Any problems or bugs in the MCU are unlikely to be fixed unless the manufacturer releases an update- i.e. the bluetooth problem. This thread serves to help remedy this issue by consolidating the scarce amount of information available on MCUs and to build on related community efforts. There has been some progress on modifying the MCU for MTCBs in the XDA and 4PDA forums by kumarai, darkleo, and Dark Simpson. No progress in modifying the MCU has been made for MTCD.
How to find your specific MCU?
On your MTCD head unit, go to the 3rd line under "MCU Version" in Settings > About. In the image below, the MCU is "KGL".
This image was taken from a MTCB thread, don't worry if the other specifications are different because your unit is MTCD- not MTCB.

Only use MCU that matches your MTCD head unit's MCU or risk malfunction! Update at your own risk!
Again, dmcu.img files are not interchangeable like dupdate.img files regardless if your head unit is MTCD or MTCB/C!

Update Instructions
In order to flash the updated MCU, you must rename the downloaded "*.img" to "dmcu.img" then place it in the root directory of your SD Card or USB drive.
Insert the medium into your head unit then access your its recovery and choose to update and wipe- it's the same process with dupdate.img files.
If the provided MCU is zipped with "dmcu.ext" and/or "dmcu.cfg" files, include them in the same root directory as your "dmcu.img" file and flash in recovery.
If you have ANY additional information or older/newer MCU .img files, please post here.
Thread will be updated regularly as relevant information is posted.

The Aug 25 KD MCU also added the 5 second shutdown and the Sub-woofer control in the EQ.

You can flash them both at once or separately. You can flash any dupdate.img as long as it's for MTCD.

Correct, if you only want to update the MCU you don't need to include the dupdate.img file.

It looks like your MCU is the latest version. There probably isn't much you can do to fix the bluetooth problem. Do a quick search in MTCD forums and you'll see it's a common issue.

MX is the manufacturer; we currently don't have any MCUs for MX. Your best bet is to contact your seller for an update.

I have downloaded and instead the latest MCU and full firmware. It still goes to sleep instead of turning off, draining the car's battery. ?

I am really confused as to which file I put on the SD card to update the MCU. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Super NoOb here.
Is the first file the MCU update and the second file the android update?

@hotaudio Can you update your bluetooth phone app to include a mute button? It is relatively useless for me without this feature (need to be on mute over long meeting calls with a kid in the car)
or otherwise provide information on how to replace this app with another phone app?

the mcu update is just a few Kilobytes while the ROM (firmware) update is above 700MB
the mcu update file shall be named as dmcu.img (if you received a Zip file with both ROM & MCU, decompress it to get both)
put it on SDcard as mentioned and go to settings>System information>MCU update

@hotaudio is there a easy way to gain root for your system?

I was able to update. Everything went fine except now when I turn the car on and the HU wakes up it displays "Unfortunately Music has stopped working". Anyone know of a fix. Might try a wipe and install of the update. Any thoughts appreciated.

Same issue - 030217 update. When I had originally installed the 030417 update from another PX5 thread here, this issue was not present. I downgraded to the 030217 update to stick with the current Dasaita build.

Yes, they are the same firmware, and you can install them by fastboot

Awesome! Can you also install them as "offline OTA" updates?

As per the screenshot in post #1 of the April update, here, the Fold4, F936B, firmware for your CSC code EUX, (Europe), was released 10th April for everyone. For some reason you did not get the update.

But my build number says CWD9 and the kernal (also CWD9) is from apr 25?

Only the Baseband version remains the same CWCC ( from april ) the rest is CWD9 ( from may )
I also did notice that , and confused me ...

I was going by the Build number you quoted in your earlier post, above, which you state is CWCC.
Your subsequent screenshot does indeed show that you are now on Build number CWD9 for May which was released earlier today.

Not yet its the most annoying bug for me it makes the car radio sound like crap when using power amp and bluetooth

A week later it is the turn of the carrier branded devices to receive the May update.
U.K. carrier devices on the following CSC codes are now rolling out...
BTE = BT (UK)
BTB = BT OnePhone (UK)
EVR = EE (UK)

Since the update, my device gets hot and runs battery down. Not all of the time but a handful of times throughout the day. Have to shut it down for a bit then back on. Have done this several times since the update.
