Hi guys, I did a search and I can't find anything on this, if it's already been answered I do apologize. I've got a kenwood stereo in my car that connects to the phone and streams music over bluetooth. I've used this on my last 2 phones (Samsung Epic, and HTC EVO) with no problems. Now with the Galaxy SII, i can't stream music. It will connect and do voice calls no problem, but when i try to play music, it just skips through every song on the list and then freezes. The only time it worked was the first time I connected it to my stereo. Has anyone else had this problem? Since I use Google Music, all of my music is streamed and I have to do it through bluetooth, this has become quite a pain!
i'm on a clarion CZ 509 no problem streaming from my phone to the car
it does it automatically as soon as the car is in the phone range
which some times is kinda annoying, when you don't want it to auto stream
Yeah, mine will connect automatically and phone calls and dialing work with no issues. It's just streaming music. I'm going to try and delete my phone from the deck and re-connect it, hopefully that works. I'm trying to avoid having to replace my phone or do a hard reset.
my deck can save up to 5 phones pairing
so i just assigned a new profile to the SGS2 when i got it
the other ones registered are my old I9000, XT720 and Nexus S
there is another trick you can use
in the phone in the BT profile after pairing, hold the profile for 2 sec, it will pop up a sub menu, in which you can choose both option or only 1 of them
in which case it's BT audio, or BT phone
so play around with that and see
another thing which i don't know if your deck allows you to do is to Pair the phone as a Media device, or Phone device
so in my deck can can pair the phone to be only as a phone device, or only as a media device, or both
I tried messing around with those options, however it either disconnects the phone completely (unchecking the phone box) or just plays the music through the phone (unchecking the media box). I tried streaming another song through the stock music app, and that worked, so I think it may be google music itself. I had downloaded the ICS version, so now i'm trying to downgrade back to current. I'll have to check to see if works later, as now it won't connect to my account to grab all of my music. Thanks for the replies though, I'll keep this updated incase anyone else has the same issues.
now that you mention it, that might be it
the DRM license thing kicking in
i just found that was causing some random crash on my phone as well, removed music 4.0 and installed another music player, now everything is back to normal
i use jukefox to play music, it automatically creates everything that is necessary, like albums, auto get the missing album covers, etc, etc...
1 button does it all
then you just pick or randomly choose what you want to hear, easy music browsing for when you are driving
Yeah it's definitely a google music issue on my phone. The stock player works fine, but that doesn't help me, I keep all of my music uploaded to the google cloud, and have no way to access it right now. Even with the regular current apk I am having issues. I'll have to wait and see if they can update it for this drm issue I think. For now I'll just use the current stock player and fill up my sd card and play off of that
that's what i do
i play it off my SD card
get a 32 GB or 64 GB and you'll have plenty of space to load all your favourite albums
i keep several copies of 32 GB for different albums / movies
So just a followup to this, I did a hard reset today on my phone and it still doesn't help. Turns out, it only does this when connected through bluetooth, and it's a song that's been "made available offline". If i'm actually streaming a song, there are no issues, but any of my playlists or albums that are saved won't play through bluetooth (they will play normally however). Hopefully this can be fixed in an update through Google Music.
So, i've had this issue as well and it appears to be something to do with "shuffle".
At first I disconnected bluetooth and then started playing the music on my phone and made sure to turn ON shuffle..I then turned bluetooth back on in my radio and once it connected...all was well. I didn't like this solution and decided I needed to find an alternative.
I then downloaded the MIUI music app (which has always been my favorite) and the music streaming is working normally now
Was this an issue that you experienced with the google music beta app, or just the standard music player that came with the phone? Mine has only had issues on the music beta app, and it didn't matter if i had shuffle on or not. I've been using the standard music app that came installed on the phone and have had no issues since. On another note, does anyone know if you can see album art through bluetooth? I'm able to get song , artist, and album info, but I've never seen album art come through yet. I'm not sure if this is something bluetooth can handle or not.
Stock app. I just installed music beta and it seems to work fine like miui music
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
I take that back, music "beta" just did it to me too. Back to miui

sometimes my Note2 shows some problems with playing any kind of sounds.
- Ring for incoming phone calls does not play
- SMS alert sound does not play
- music play are not able to play any music anymore (can't even display the sound files)
- apps to play sounds are stop working
Sometimes I kill all the running apps and also clear all cache files it will work again.
But most of the time i had to restart the whole phone.
I tried different microsdcard's, kernels and roms.
ATM I am on redpill 1.01 Omega 9.1 XXDLL4
How could I analyse the error? Are there any logs i could check?
Sometime I think, it came by playing Great Big War Game...
But it is not everytime after I play...
Any help would be nice, thank you.
Ok, I've had the F400S for about a week now, and it's rooted and pimped up a bit with XPosed and GravotyBox.
I'm wondering:
1) Is there any way to change the [Settings > Shortcut key] settings? I would like to set holding volume up to open something else.
2) I listen to podcasts (through headphones) more than anything else on the phone. Right now, pressing play on the headphones with no audio app loaded will load Music app. I would instead like to default to my podcast app (Pocket Casts). It seems this default setting can't be done openly/officially, so I'm wondering if there's a nerdier way to do it.
3) Is anyone else having issue with the built in quite hours function? [Settings > Sound > Quiet Mode] For me, it starts ok, switches to silent and no led, but it doesn't return to normal after the time range ends.
4) I would like to disable or freeze most the LG and korean apps. Are there any that I shouldn't because it is known to cause problems? Normally I would experiment through trial and error, but because there's no ClockworkMod Recovery yet (or is there?) I cant make the backups I'm used to doing before experimenting.
1. I believe there is an xposed module for that. At least there was a while ago that I used on my note 3.
2. I think tasker could work
Current Devices:
LG G3
Samsung Note 3
Nexus 7 (2013)
LG G Pad 8.3

I tried getting Tasker to run Pocket Casts when headphones are plugged in, which works, but pressing the headphone button still starts music from the Music app.
4) I freeze all of the Korean carrier app on my S, the phone seems to be working fine.
The only problem I have is some app has built-in Korean (e.g. Dialer, Ringtone selector...etc) which I am waiting to replace.

I solved this using Tasker and Send Intent.
In Tasker I created a "Headset Plugged Any" event with the task Send Intent of Action "au.com.shiftyjelly.pocketcasts.action.PAUSE" (this intent is for Pocket Casts)
(It's been mentioned already by several people here but is burried in the 1.4 update discussions. I feel the need to pull this serious problem to the daylight.)
It behaves as follows:
With the Bluetooth "Play phone audio on watch" option OFF everything works fine but like before 1.4 update (no phone call possible from/to the watch).
When I enable "Play phone audio on watch", strange things begin to hapen when I try to use the newly enabled phone call capability.
Call initiated from the watch or answered on the watch results in mute call. Other than that the GUI of the phone and the watch behaves like the phone call is connected and running. The problem of not working proximity sensor (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3330372) also applies here.
Call answered conventionally on the phone results in several seconds mute call (very annoying, making all the "Play phone audio on watch" unusable in practice), after that everything is ok (like in the scenario 1 - "Play phone audio on watch" OFF).
So, it seems I have a problem with sound streaming between my phone and watch. The problem of Shazam not working (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3258367) applies fully (don't know if relevant here). I didn't find any other way to test it. I'm on Slimkat 4.4.4, Samsung Galaxy SII. Fresh factory reset after 1.4 sideloaded update.
Microphone is working (Google voice search tested).
Speaker is working (Ringtones are playing)
Please help with further troubleshooting.
This update, to say the least, is very buggy. I have the same issue you do with calls making the phone capabilities nearly useless.
I have factory reset a few times. I think the OS is the culprit. Its putting the watch too far to sleep (if such a thing is possible).
I have hesitation on my watch faces (some more than others) and my bluetooth will randomly drop then reconnect.

I haven't had this problem so far. Maybe it's related to the Android version running on the phone. I'm using Android 6.0 (HTC One M8 / Google Play Edition).
In case more users confirm this issue, I think it's a good idea to make a report in the AOSP issue tracker:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list
I've done that for the proximity sensor issue.
I can confirm Shazam not working for me with MEC23L.
Hi,
Its hardly 2 days, while I'm using Sony SBH54 with Xiaomi Mi6, and up till now, it worked very well, except for two major issues:
1. I can't receive notifications from any app, despite of giving full permissions on phone to its assistant app, and apps sending notifications.
2. I can't dial the number from call logs, although call logs are displaying and I can navigate them.
One minor issue is, if I play music from Pulsar music app, SBH54 can't display the track details, it only shows MI6 playing. But if I shutdown its assistant app from Mi6, while Pulsar is still playing, device starts displaying the music track information. However, when I changed my music player to Media Monkey along with its assistant app running, device worked fine and displayed the music track information. So it looks like, its assistant app is not cooperative with every music player.
However when I used it with LG Nexus 6, SBH54 was able to receive and display notifications. I tried with Google+ and Google Play.
So, I guess, it might be some issue with Mi6.
Can someone please through a light on these issues with Mi6?
Note: I used both phones simultaneously connected...
I will update if I find anything else...
Thanks
