Here's the issue I have a HTC Desire 526. It's prepaid through Verizon Wireless I'm having severe Wi-Fi issues. In order for me to connect to my router I have to place my phone within an inch then use WPS to connect. Once I'm connected I cannot walk more than two feet before it disconnects. Once it disconnects it says either disabled or null under the SSID. While I'm connected I cannot use apps that that use high bandwidth like Twitch. While I'm connected to the internet I hold 5 bars never more, never less. I have attempted to clean the Wi-Fi antenna if I correctly located what appeared to be the Wi-Fi antennaa according to pictures on Google Images. As well as the GPS antenna I also unplugged and plugged all of the what appears to be brass or gold plated terminal thing wires back in. I have 3G and what appears to be three signal bars but it usually takes 2 to 3 minutes after the phone starts to turn on. I've never had any issues like this with any other device or router or Internet or anything. I may have while unscrewing the void screw possibly cracked the board somewhere that's what I'm thinking. I also broke whatever the microphone looking thing was attached to the screw, does anybody know what that is?
Also the Wi-Fi turns on and off normally it also scans other ssids which I know are fairly far away in The Neighbourhood so I don't think it's a Wi-Fi antenna issue.
I did not put any screws back in because they were making weird ringing noises.

Hello everyone! I recently upgraded my house internet connection to fiber optics (100/10) and i'm so happy with my internet speed! But I think my router is causing problems.
It's a Comtrend router. Here is a picture of it.

I'm not sure it's a very good router, but regardless, it's giving me problems on my phones and tablets. I noticed that messages didn't come in right away. And sometimes if I wake up my device and try to use the app store or gmail it'll say that it couldn't contact the server. I have to hit retry a couple of times before it works again. For the app store no problem. But for incoming messages via Line or Whatsapp, or emails via Gmail, it really gets on my nerves. But after I get it working again it doesn't give me a single problem until it sleeps again or I drop the connection with the router. I don't know...
The configuration is pretty straight forward. It WAS on just WPA and now it's on WPA2-PSK with AES. Both are giving me the same problem still.
Do you guys know anything that could help?
U should give it a try without encryption and see if it's causing the problem. And also u can turn off the router's firewall and ckeck how it goes.
From the middle of nowhere to the center of everywhere!!
As mentioned, try without encryption, but also disable wmm, qos, maybe reserve an ip etc. If it's fine then, enable the services one by one by process of elimination.

I need to boost my WiFi signal in my apartment. Even though I'm only 30 ft away (down a long hallway and around a corner), it keeps losing WiFi signal.
I am typing on my Note II, but I also have an S3 and two Galaxy Tab 10.1's (P7510) connected, all having the same issue.
My Router is a brand new Belkin N600 and it has both the 2.x & 5.x GHz Freq's, so the Booster/Extender would obviously need to as well.
Any recommendations, without getting too pricey?
Also, what's the best placement? The Router is in my livingroom, but I am always in my bedroom while using the devices.
Do I place the Booster/Extender in my bedroom with me?
Also, do they use a separate SSID? I saw a couple that are small little things that you plug into an outlet, but how would you even access them to set them up? Especially when my setup is Static and they're DHCP out of the box. I hate it when I have to switch my setup to add a new piece of hardware to my network!
Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy (Sprint SPH-L900) Note II
Whompasaurus ROM/Perseus Krnl/JB 4.1.2
Buy a repeater. You can buy one for i believe around 20dollars. Then plug that repeater along your hallway near your room.

Or buy a directional antenna for the router.
You can do with beer can
1.Remove ring

2.make cut as shown
Then like this
3. open up the middle piece of metal by bending it until it vaguely resembles the shape of a radar dish.
4.Place the completed Wi-Fi booster on your router. Place it so that the antenna pokes through the opening, and stick the base of the can to the router with a small piece of poster tack or other suitable adhesive. It's time to test how much your Wi-Fi is now boosted!

There is a WiFi network "BrokeAsDancer" that shows up on both my phones. Rooted N3 and stock S5.
My PC picks it up at home but on our phones it shows always nearby and full strength no matter where we are, including another state.
Anyone ever see this issue before?

Its because either you have connected to that network before knowingly or unknowingly and it saves it in the phone, so when you are in range you can connect it again. You can get rid of it by long pressing that network and forgetting it as og.blaah said. Even if you restart your phone it won't go away, you have to manually "forget" that network. Hope it helps.
I've never connected to this network and it shows up as full signal available on multiple phones in every location I'm in. Its been doing this for over a year. Anyone that comes into contact with this network (as in, in range of) gets this problem
If it was on both phones in multiple locations, and one phone was stock, its because of some app you're using, only reasonable explanation
No apps. Just switched ROMs didn't install anything and same issue. No common 3rd party between the two phones. It is a mystery
Trying to figure out if this is an issue for others or I just have a defective phone. My Verizon M9 has been occasionally dropping signal throughout the past 2 days that I've had it. It's not a signal strength issue and none of my other devices have this problem, so it's not my router.
Anyone else out there a effected by wifi drops on this phone? My build number is below, for comparison.

Have not seen this on mine. Wi-Fi performance has been better than the m8 for me. Netgear r8000 here.
Same here we have 3 m9's in house an no WiFi issue @dottat nice router i got same one
I use UniFi Access Points all over my home due to the size and no issues with WiFI whatsoever so far.
Thanks for the replies, I may be taking it to the store then to swap out since it's looking like the wifi on this phone is kinda defective.

If you disable the switch to cellular setting does it stay connected?
Or disable the Wi-Fi optimization.
Hi
I was wondering if other have experienced the same as me (I have sent my Samsung Galaxy S20+ to repair.)
In the start I occasionally experienced when talking to other people that I suddenly could not hear them/they could not hear me – and I when lost the connection. Of course, it can happen – but it was way more frequent than my old Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
I also occasionally experienced that I lost connection to the internet (Not WIFI – I was using the mobile broadband). I have 2 Sim Cards in my phone – they would show no connection - when shortly after they will show connection.
One time I was sitting in a car (which was not moving).
First both sim cards – showed no connection:

}
2 seconds later only one of them showed no connection:
and 2 seconds later both sim cards showed connection:
As you can see at the last image - there are full bars for both sim cards. All 3 images are taken from the same place with only a few seconds interval. I have of course tried to reinsert the sim cards and also hard booted the phone.
Im also facing the same Issue on Samsung A32 4G after july patch update Any body if have fixes it then please Help us
I have the S20 5G unlocked variant & randomly I'm lose access to Internet services. It will say that I'm roaming but I can still call text & sometimes depending on if I was using an internet based service i.e playing PoGo or listening to Spotify.
But after my internet access ability vanish I can't use any data, other than replaying sis I've listened to. Can't even connect to my Chromecast. (Which happened last night. The happened while on WiFi)
