Very poor wi-fi on tab 3 10.1 - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
We have a galaxy tab and have a problem with wi-fi. The tablet will only pick up wi-fi if you stand next to the router. I thought this may be a problem with the wi-fi antenna so opened the tab up. I cannot find anything that resembles a WI-fi antenna. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I will upload a pic. The only thing I have removed is the battery.
Thanks
Chris

Intermittent WiFi Dropouts?

I got a Tab S 10.5 a few weeks ago as a replacement for my Nexus 10. Overall, I feel like the Tab S is head and shoulders above the Nexus - but I've had some strange issues. I've had the wifi signal intermittently stop responding - it seems to be more prevalent on my 5GHz network using 802.11ac speeds but I've experienced it at standard 2.4GHz connections as well.
I haven't rooted the tablet yet. I thought at first it might be my wireless network as I hadn't used any other devices that were 'ac' capable even though I have a pair of Netgear R6300V2 routers bridged across my home. However, these wifi signal dropouts persist only on the Tab S - if I turn wifi off, then back on, connectivity is restored. My Galaxy S4, Chromecast, PC, DVR, all stay online just fine.
Has anyone else had this issue? I got my Tab S with the Samsung Book Cover - which I love, but it almost seems like it happens when I hold the Tab a certain way.
Thanks for anyone who can give any feedback.

Did you connect your Tab S with your S4 through SideSync at one point?
Yes, I have used Sidesync. I disabled remote notifications, but occasionally still get a pop-up that remote notifications are enabled even if I haven't used sidesync in days.

I too suffered wifi drop-out and Bluetooth issues. Following this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/heads-sidesync-bt-wi-fi-bug-t2828911) I realized that there is a problem with SideSync. Even when not connected it sitll tries to communicate with the tablet and affects the wireless components. I removed Sidesync from my Note II and clear the data from SideSync on the tablet and for the past week I have not ahd any issue with Wifi or Bluetooth.
Thanks. Side Sync Sux.
Brilliant. Thanks. I was having a big problem with 2.4ghz wifi. I though there must have been some interference. 5g was fine. Tried chaining channel and all sorts. Would have thought it was my router but I have two with same prob just on 2.4ghz. It was happening to my phone and tablet, but then noticed only when the table was connected to wifi. Just disabled Side Sync and now the wifi is blazing.

Unable to detect wifi network...!!!

I am using D-Link 2750U ADSL router, the issue I am facing is quite weird. My Phone, Laptop, Nexus 7 Tab can see Wi-Fi Network in range but Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (10.1) cannot see Wi-Fi network. I tried connecting it manually by providing SSID, it says Network not in range. Interestingly, Samsung tab connects to Wi-Fi network in my office without any issues. So I am clueless as to where the problem is – is it with Router or Tab? Can someone help please

crash your router, try again
access your router, check your settings, history
try unsecuring your wifi, seemif it picks up, then resecure
tab does 80211 abgn, check you're setmfor wpa2-passkey
in your tab if always scan is enabled, toggle it
check system/etc/wifi/nvram* - if present
it's most likely the router and the tab.
Issue resolved (hopefully) by setting channel to fixed number rather than using auto option in router wifi settings.
Interesting aspect is my phone, which is also samsung (s4) and laptop had no issues.
@heeemz
channel!, Uhhh, weird,
My best guess is that you have a router with Full open channels like for Europe or Japan and that the TAB3 is an American version. So as American Wifi is not allowed to transmit on EU/Japan extended frequencies?

[Q] Note 4 Can't Connect to Wireless

I'm not sure what my problem is. When I connect my Note 4 to my wifi it says that my network may not provide internet. In addition, it shows "(secured)" next to my SSID name. The phone then connects to the internet, but it doesn't have internet. I think the problem has to do with the fact that my wifi is being brodcasted on 5Ghz. I attached an image of my wifi settings. Does anyone have any ideas of what to change on the router or my phone? Thanks.
As pathetic as it sounds, I simply restarted my phone and reconnect to the network at it is working great. Go figure.

Poor wifi connection

I have galaxy tb 3 t210 and it has terrible weak wifi reception. My rom is official 4.4.2 and you guys any idea how to solve this problem? my phone and all other wifi devices connects perfectly except tab 3

WiFi on SM-T800 dead

Pretty much settled that the WiFi on my tab is gone. Did some online research. Can anyone verify the WiFi chip is indeed the Broadcom BCM4354KKUBG on the SM-T800 16GB? Figure the motherboard functions well as the tab does but none of the ROMs I've tried "re-activate" WiFi. Tried on several access points also. I've no problem cracking the case and digging in. Thoughts anyone? Thanks.
Follow Up:
Plugged the Tab into a laptop (Win8) to transfer some files and AMAZINGLY the WiFi activated! Saw all local networks and was able to logon to home network. Working on office network also. Noticed Windows installed some files when first plugged in cable but other than that nothing else was done. Weird but welcome!
