In the developer options, you can check Notification Flash. Its a good alternate. It will light up the flash when you get calls and emails. I dont know about texts.
Im going to get it I'm just worried it comes with knox :/

Not at all. No need to install anything. Do this:
1. Navigate to SETTINGS.
2. Goto MORE.
3. Goto About Phone.
4. You will see a build number, click it (nothing will happen). Keep clicking it 7+ times it will inform you that developers options are activated.
You will find the developer options in the settings.

It dint work with the text notifications on my end. Only emails and phone calls. Have no clue if you can configure apps to use this. I think basic Samsung apps only support it mate.
bln does not work with notifications which are turning on the display. So for SMS just use an app like GoSMS where you can configure the display to stay off, like in whatsapp.

How to disable update check?

I have the latest official 8.1 ROM and don't want to update to PIE yet.
But notification about this update is just like the ones from iPhone, keeps coming back and I see no way to turn it off.
I've disabled automatic update in developer settings, but would like to disable checking for update and notification about it also.
In my other phones there always was system app called "Update" or "System-update" and stopping/disabling it was enough to stop bothering me.
Is there any way to disable checking for update and notification about existing update?
My phone is not rooted.
When the notification comes for the system update just slide it right/left but not all the way, just halfway across the screen and let it go. This way you'll see "snooze" and a "gear". Tap on the gear and then "Don't show notifications"

I'm sorry, English is my third language and sometimes I don't know how to make a correct accent on the specific part of the question
the main part of my question is to disable checking for update and after doing this notifications will disappear
I understand that I can just hide the notifications but I'd like to know how to solve this problem completely

I don't think there's any thing more you can do about it Disabling from Developer Settings and hiding the notification is all I can say about it
Disable automatic system updates in developer options.
If developer options are not enabled, activate by giving 7 clicks on "Build number" (Settings / About phone / Build number)
Go to System / Advanced / Developer Options / Automatic System Updates
Disable and no longer have automatic updates. When you want to update, you'll need to manually fetch.
What is keeping you from rooting and removing updater package from system/app? Especially if you are not planing to update to pie yet

Updater not showing in settings

Using star2lte: lineage-17.1-20210121-nightly-star2lte.
It's only a minor problem because I can always do adb sideload but I'm sure is was there at one time. I can see the updater in the apps but I can't see any way of running it, also new updates are not announced.
Is there any way of getting the updater to run again?

Nice. I can reproduce this picture with disabling updater app.
Ok, that's interesting. How did you disable it, or more appropriately how to you re-enable it? It's possible I may have disabled it by accident.
I've just checked under Apps, and it's is enabled, weird.
Thanks.

Just tried that. For good measure I also stopped the app, cleared cache and data and then enabled the app. After that I restarted the phone. And it's still missing in settings!

Updater keeps stopping, I guess that's the reason it doesn't show. The question is: why does it keep stopping?

Android 11 screwed up system gesture navigation in 3rd party launchers (again). I've just returned to 3 button nav bar + edge gestures app. Now I have the best out of both worlds. Quick and easy to use nav bar and also swipe gestures.

Thanks, I had tried setting the stock launcher to check if this was the case to no avail. Evidently I hadn't opened the home screen to let it load. Now have it working with no custom launcher and very slow animations... Hope MIUI can fix this soon.

I find stock animations very slow too (be it "clean" Android or MIUI) - enabling 0.5x speed for all animations in developer settings feels much snappier.
Btw. it's not a fault of MIUI, this time Google is to blame.

Yeah I've since found other complaints of broken gesture navigation with third party launchers on Samsung devices. I guess hopefully it's either patched in upstream Android by Google or Xiaomi patch it within MIUI.
Unfortunately, the MIUI stock launcher and Recents doesn't respect the 0.5% animation speed setting!
I've also found that you can no longer change individual app dark mode settings. The app list is just empty, still respects any that were setup prior to the update though.

I can't comment on stock launcher as I'm on Nova launcher, but recents screen seems to be snappy. I don't use it that often though, so maybe it's with 100% speed.
I can still change individual apps in dark mode - but only when the dark mode is active. It takes about 3 seconds for list of all apps to appear though, on the first sight the feature seems missing/broken.
The two main things I've noticed is the notification led is now bright enough to actually be useful.
And on poco launcher 2 if you keep pressing back to exit from an app or push the home button sometimes you get the apps icon appearing at the top left of the screen for a few seconds for some reason.
But if you switch to system launcher and back again this bug goes away until you restart the device.

Are you sure that you are flashing the same version of ROM as you have currently installed? You can use recovery update only from the very same region - Global or EU or China or Russia or another.

You might find the culprit with logcat - enable usb debugging, start "adb logcat" on the PC with the phone connected and run the update again. There should be an error message displayed with more details.

as far as I know, it no longer exists (is also no longer available on my op 9p with oos 13)
Assuming you can or want to root, the best option that works on Android 13 is likely: https://github.com/KieronQuinn/ClassicPowerMenu

They changed layout of system apps from op10 up. I will try without Xposed module activated
