Group messages getting split to individual conversations - MiUI 8 Dev. China official - Xiaomi Mi Max Questions & Answers

When I am part of a group MMS - conversation it gets split - I have looked for the MMS setting - seems It is turned on - and This should not be happening.
1. Anyone else has the same experience?
2. Is there a setting I am missing?
3. What better MMS / SMS app can I use to control this?
Thanks.

FWIW - Textra and Chomp SMS can both stich the conversations so group messages do not get scattered. Textra is better because it has increased font sizes. I still do not know how to make the standard app do this.

[Q] Message2Reg SMS deletion

Dear all,
in many themes and others, messages are managed by Message2Reg+ThrottleLauncher applications.
Those tools provide (only) the following features:
- SMS Refresh
- SMS Details
- SMS Next
- SMS Previous
Is there any way to delete SMS messages (via scripping or whatelse) ??
If not, I have always to open the native SMS application in order to delete messages and there is not a really full integration between themes and SMS management features.
Hope you can give me hints!
Thanks,
brontolo

GO SMS Pro - question

Anyone using GO SMS Pro? I would like to know how to remove the subject line from MMS messages. For example:

[Q] SMS App

Hi,
Coming from an iPhone background, I am finding the transition to this phone great!!!
One minor problem is group messages of 7 or more getting converted to MMS (as I found out to my expense). Is there an alternative SMS app that doesn't do this??

i use chomp sms
MySMS
MySMS is really great. Support different websms Provide, A perfect backup function and a lot more. Free Messages between Mysms users are also included...
Thanks for the replies :good:
I know this thread is a little old, but I remember that there was some hidden options in the SMS app on Gigerbread (3 Android version ago). One of them was whether or not you wanted to auto convert SMS messages longer than 160 characters to MMS. If your phone was rooted, you could edit an xml file to make this option appear so that you could check it.
In the same .xml file, you could actually set the numbers of character required for the auto convert to embark. I remember putting a crazy number.
In the end, on your phone it would still show as one huge message, but the recipient would receive multiple messages of 160 characters. Your phone would do the magic and send regular SMS instead of MMS.
If I can find the thread, I would link it, and then see if those options still works in KitKat on my rooted Z1c.
Check out sliding messaging. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smitten.slidingmms

Textra is hands down the best messaging app I've used. Try it out!
textra is a simplified version of chomp. i just like the more customisation that chomp offers

LOS sms app - character encoding (simple characters)

I remember that with CM13 there was an option to use simple characters when sending sms but with LOS I can't find that option anywhere.
This would be nice to have as sending an sms with "special" characters will greatly reduce the number of characters per sms and will cause the sms to be split into multiple sms even for quite short messages.
I have the same problem, did you find a solution?
The only workaround I've found is to use google's sms app which is almost the same but has that option.
You can install SMS app QKSMS from F-droid. There is a 'remove accents' choice in settings which will do the job.

NO G-Board GIF Support in Native Note 5 sms "Messaging" app??

I've been using Android Messages for my sms app. However, I still waiver back and forth between that and the stock/native Samsung Note 5 Messages app.
I switch everything back and use it just long enough to figure out that the G-Board GIFs are NOT supported.
Is there a setting or a tweak that I'm missing?
Thanks all!
