wifi problem - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Unfortunately, I could not look at other routers out there that can do the problem. Mobile Net does not have any problems in the browser game is not over. My router: Asus RT-N18U
If I've done enough video to see how a browser such as Facebook stutters a bit when I scroll down to up.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kKIl8Zz1Lc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmLx3XIEI3c
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onYEtsenO6I

I tested with other routers and interesting results. My router is not something I Komal. (ASUS RT-N18U) and before that there is a (Dasan H640GW GPON ONT) with the wifi Subscribe refused to join hand. However, the router can connect neighbors and there is not jettisoning it. (TP-Link) And I do not know that you are the drivers of the phone can be a hassle or do not want my my router? Or maybe I should try something Rom?

Any ideas? Or wait for the next system update now? Because it is quite annoying that I can not normally get on the net

[Q] WiFi problems after Froyo update

After installing the Froyo update yesterday I seem to be having troubles with my WiFi connection. The connection is being dropped after a half an hour or so and I'm unable to reconnect at that time. The Desire just keeps connecting and disconnecting to my network.
I need to reset my router in order to re-establish the connection but it gets dropped again after a half an hour.
I did not experience these problems on the previous version, I did however experience something like it when I connected my PS3 to the router via WiFi in the past. After I done that I wasn't able to connect on my laptop. But I switched to a cable for the PS3 after that anyway.
Is it possible that something on the Desire triggers an overload in the router that causes it to malfunction? I'm unable to connect with my laptop when the connection is dropped on the Desire as well.
It's a Belkin f5d7632-4, which is actually a modem-router, but after disabling the DHCP server it functions fine as a wireless router.
Thank you in advance for any ideas.
If I can't find a solution I think I have to get a new wireless router, I can't go without WiFi on my Desire at home!
If that's the case, advice for a new wireless router is welcome as well. Please post the brand and type and if it's functioning fine with the new Froyo for you.
I have the same issue. I went from standard, unbranded 2.1 to OTA 2.2 like a good citizen, but now it won't connect to my belkin wirless N router, but it DOES connect to my SKY netgear router.
What's the deal?
Yes, I've spotted some more Belkin N1 users on (the dutch website) Tweakers.net with the same problem.
I retain a good connection for about half an hour. They seem to be having the same problem right from the start.
I have a similar problem with a BT HomHub 2.0 but it drops the WiFi randomly however I do not reset the router just turn the WiFi Off and On on the phone and the Desire reconnects. My Desire will also change which SSID its connected too, i.e. from my own SSID to BT Fon or BT Openzone (I have them both turned on in my Home Hub) again to get back to my own SSID I have to stop and restart the WiFi on the phone, simply asking it to move back to my own SSID doesnt work.
Just had a call with HTC Netherlands and they advised me to try it on a different network/router and/or do a factory reset to a clean 2.2.
Has anyone tried the factory reset? I doubt that will do any good. A different router would seem to work according to Jammy1 (and I didn't expect otherwise).
Apparently something killed the compatibility between Belkin routers and Android 2.2 ?!
do you guys have the Bluetooth turned on?I realised when both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are on at the same time, the signals tend to clash thereby resulting to connection loss. Though,I experienced this on another android device (a tablet:Archos 5 AIT) especially when a major update occurs.Still waiting for my new Desire.
Random drops also on Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato firmware...

No Bluetooth here. Never even used it.
Try turning off the bluetooth.
Bought myself a cheap Sitecom WiFi router and it works like a charm now. But I hope HTC wil fix this and other little bugs present in this version.
I had similar problems after upgrading to Froyo (custom rom) - the Wifi seemed to get connection then as soon as I tried to use it within the browser it dropped and tries to regain IP. After a bit of fiddling with settings I have found that
i) using channel 12 (12 and 13 are only available if router is set to America location) to avoid conflict with heavy wireless coverage in my area seems to help
ii) using WPA2 encryption seems to give a much stabler connection over WPA, although now and again it forgets the passkey data, even re-entering it fails, only solve was to turn wifi off then on for it to reconnect
still having this problem...
does anybody have some news on this ?
I can connect to my home router a linksys wrt600n with WPA2-PSK key but i cant connect to a belkin N1 with WPA2-PSK enabled.
I tried every setting on the belkin router, just cant get it to connet.
My device just keeps connecting and disconnecting, it gets an ip but cant connect...
What i haven't tried is setting a maual ip and see if it connects then.
If i set it to manual ip, it works.
Does anybody have some news on this ?
What channel is your router on? Read somewhere about it not liking anything over 11...
I've been having the same issue on my Desire and on HD2Android.
If a 2.1 ROM is loaded into either of my devices TKIP and AES work perfectly.
With 2.2 it only connects through my Marconi router and doesn't obtain an IP from my Belkin N1.
I don't think this is a device issue but rather a ROM/OS issue. After speaking with some Linux guys they seem to have the opinion that the driver on 2.2 doesn't resolve it's IP address with some routers. Especially higher end ones with added features like QoS ie Belkin/Linksys.

Doesn't make a difference.

Yes that was my initial thought !
But my linksys is newer then my belkin and it has no problems connecting my phone.
The 2 wireless routers are configured the same.
On android 2.1 i had no problems.
is it possible to try and install the 2.1 wifi drivers on 2.2 ?
i had the same problem 2 months ago when i first got my Desire. worked at just about every damn wifi router but the one in my house.
did some reading, no one had an answer. just seemed that it worked on some and not on others. so, i went out to the store and i picked up a Linksys after testing the linksys at the shop. my phone connected and had internet no problem. i thought, perfect, i'll take it.
brought it home, same problem. wifi connects and no internet. no setting would fix it. i brought it back to the store. and sure enough, we plugged that very router into their connection and my phone connected and worked. they obviously would not return the router because it works (and i live in a 3rd world country, forget about it).
so, **** if i could figure it out. i wound up using an older adsl/wifi router i had and no problems. but, i have a new linksys that is just sitting in a box...
its not your router, but the phone.
you can always sell the router on internet or the phone

I had contact with HTC Scandinavia and they also recommended a factory reset. But these guys haven't got a clue - they didn't even know this was a big problem after the froyo update. Weird when you think about it, I mean wifi is kind of a big thing for a smart phone.
But no, factory reset did NOT change a thing. And replying to other messages: this thing has nothing to do with what router you use. It seems totally random almost.

P600 wifi connectivity

I'm having an issue where my WiFi connection drops. Tab still says connected but I get no throughput. All other wireless devices still work. I have to toggle the wifi on the tab on and off to reconnect. Router is an actiontec C1000A.
I've read other threads where people had similar issues and exchanged tablets for new ones only to have them do the same. Router is good, it works with all my other devices without issue. What good is a WiFi only tablet if the WiFi sucks eggs?

Well my wifi has been brilliant, the only issue I had was that although my wifi router was working with every other device and even my Note 10.1 it didnt want to play youtube videos on it. So I changed connection to my other broadband and it worked a treat so even though your router works with other devices it doesn't mean the tablet is faulty just that the router and tablet don't like each other.
Best way to try this is go to a friends house and try their connection or go to a coffee shop where they have free wifi and hopefully you will see wifi doesn't suck eggs lol. Anyways hope your problem gets sorted.

Are you just complaining or are you asking for help?............ If your asking for help please tell us if you are using 2.5 or 5ghz, b, g, n, ac, channel #. Many things can cause wifi issues and sometime a monitoring app from the play store like "Wifi analyzer" can help narrow down whats really going on.
Im asking for help by complaining. I'll get some more detailed info on my network and post it up later.
My modem/router was set to auto detect... I used wifi analyzer to set it to a less crowded fixed channel. I also turned off 802.11n. It had b, g and n simultaneously... Now it's just b and g. So that's 2.4 GHz? I don't have super Internet, so no real need for "n". I'll report back after I see if this changes anything. The security is WPA2-Personal...don't know if that has any effect. Any other ideas are appreciated.

Anyone having Wifi issues on lollipop?

Not sure if it is something on my end, but ever since the upgrade, which I did as a clean install, I have had issues with being "connected" but not going anywhere. I am connected to wifi, have an IP address, but nothing will load, then all of a sudden it starts working again. My laptop, my phone, etc have no problems during this time, so it doesn't appear that its my router or anything. I am using the 5ghz band on the Nexus and laptop and plan on testing to see if it does better on the 2.4ghz spectrum but it seems like it affects all my apps. I will be looking on Instagram and then pics stop loading, I open the browser, can't browse, type thing, so not app specific, but the entire time I show excellent signal strength, i'm maybe 10ft from the router, my work laptop is connected on VPN right next to me and doesn't drop out, again making me think it isn't my side, but more so something with the Nexus since 5.0 update.
Dude, Google.
I have this issue as well.
For general internet use and most apps it's not a problem as I only lose connection for ~10s before it reconnects but if I'm playing a game that requires a persistent internet connection it kicks me out at the most inopportune times...
I hope there's a fix soon, KitKat was flawless.

Wi-Fi authentication - not working on GoGo in flight Wi-Fi service

OK, so I've got a VERY strange one for y'all.
First off, I had this problem on Nougat. That's what prompted me to follow instruction on here and upgrade to Oreo and try. Yeah, that failed too.
So right now I have no problems at all connecting to any Wi-Fi router at home, my friends, in-laws, etc. Even when we go to restaurants and connect, like Bob Evans, Denny's, etc. where it asks you to accept the terms of service.. no problems.. at all!!
The problem I have is on the plane. I fly 4-6 planes a week and the free Wi-Fi I have with T-Mobile has been a godsend in keeping up with work while in the air. Obviously, it's happening on every plane I fly. I can connect to the SSID, but do not get an IP address. I even bothered the guy sitting next to me once to disable his iPhone and let me connect using the IP addressing that his phone had to try. Nothing. I can ping the gateway, but not the DNS server. SO I resolved the URL for the login page to an IP and threw that in Chrome to try to pull it up. Still nothing. It's so infuriating!! I can open plenty of apps that shows the IP address that whatever router I'm connected to gives me, but for some reason I do not get one when connecting to GoGo. I've tried a different browser (firefox, opera and the Samsung browser). I've tried an incognito window to remove and possible cashed issues. I've tried forcing Google's DNS and OpenDNS, still nothing.
So, the next step.. try a different phone. Yup, works great. It's not an account issue. It's almost like my MAC address is blocked by all the routers on every plane?! That can't be. I carry this Moto Z2 Force and also my iPhone. Problem is, I wanted to try to connect my laptop via Bluetooth to my Z2 Force once it's connected to the GoGo Wi-Fi to get my laptop online, but I can't even get an IP to be able to connect to the router. You can't do that with an iPhone. If you can... a penny for your thoughts
What's worse, is I've contacted GoGo Wi-Fi's tech support chat. They are determined to tell me there's something wrong with the phone.
Can someone please help me figure this out? I used to work in an IT department for the state government, and I should be able to keep up with whatever you ask.
Thanks a TON in advance!!
Some specifics:
Moto Z2 Force (T-Mobile)
Rooted with Magisk (but had the issue when it was bone stock on Nougat)
Android 8.0.0
Baseband M8998TMO_20207.117.02.41R NUS
Kernel 4.4.78-perf-g6174029
Build OCX27
SSID of the affected network - gogoinflight
I'm flying 3 hops tomorrow and I can get you as much detail as you'd like, I just need to know what.
nothing!?

wifi issues

Since I've purchased the note 10 +, I've had some wifi connection issues. The phone never stays connected, or will drop wifi frequently. Normally once a day. Now though, it is much more common, and it is for longer periods of time. I'll be casting something to my tv, and then the video will drop due to the phone trying to "reconnect" to the wifi. Has anyone else seen similar issues?
No issues here with WiFi. Do you have any other devices that exhibit this issue? What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting?
I've tried resetting the router, and doing a factory reset on the device. Also, I've tried it on another wifi network and it does it there as well. No other devices that I have on my wifi exhibit the same behaviour. I was hoping with a software update it would get better but it is getting worse.
Do you have a case on your phone?
Any settings made in advanced wifi settings?
Tried app like wifi analizer? Both to check the received wifi strength and also possible wifi congestion...
Are the problems only while casting to TV or also when streaming of Internet?
Did you try change in wifi settings in router, like extended lease time or assigning fixed ip-adresses to both TV and phone, change of wifi channel, switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

The wifi network is fine. Both in signal and congestion. The phone is set to be on the 5 ghz. And I've never had any issues with it on any other device. I lose signal frequently. I only used the casting example to help people understand what's happening.
Now there is a problem with many routers. Even expensive models may not solve the problem with an Internet connection. I also had problems connecting to wi-fi. The phone was disconnected from the router once every few days. I called the guys who connected the Internet to me, but they said that everything was fine on their part. They sent me a master, he looked, but could not do anything except how to change my router. A few days later, I realized that the problem was not solved and started Googling the problem on the Internet. I came across a forum where they advised me to enter this ip 192.168.1.1 and after a couple of manipulations, I was able to fix my problem.

Are you just talking about the programming page of Netgear's routers? Netgear also has apps for that...

How did entering your router's default IP address fix your issue? What changes did you make to your router's configuration?
Just saying that you entered that IP address and making a couple of manipulations doesn't help the OP.
