First things first:
I want to flash with Odin because that's the only thing left for me, as I can't get in Fastboot/Bootloader!
I have fiddled around with Odin now for 2 days and flashed several stock roms on my phone which unfortunately didn't fix my bootloop.
Now to my question:
At first I flashed my phone via "PDA" then found a thread where you should put the file in "Bootloader" (still a rom and it worked for him).
Should I now try putting a stock rom in "Phone" or update my bootloader? (saw this mentioned as a fix for the Fastboot/Bootloader problem.
Hi,
I send you a PM... Hope this will help you.
Best regards

The interesting point in this Odin tutorial is the usage of a .pit file, which will re-partition your phone's flash memory. That said, it appears that some Galaxy Nexus devices mess up the existing partitions occasionally and randomly. Of course, an inaccessible partition cannot be read, causing the freezes / bootloops. Additionally, wiping and re-flashing in fastboot or recovery will have no effect, since all they do is wiping the existing partitions, but not actually fixing the damaged partition.
All this is just stuff I read - I cannot try this myself, since I sent my phone back to the distributor to get it replaced.
Hi all,
i've search and tried most of the methods on threads with similar issue but to no avail.
So i'm posting my situation here hoping someone with the expertise can help me.
My IMEI became null/null after flashing Criskelo rom. I had previously saved a copy of my efs.img on my PC.
When restoring my EFS backup, it says "/dev/block/mmcblk0p3: write error: No space left on device"
So i used Odin, flash a stock ROM with pit, bootloader, pda, phone and csc.
The flashing was successful with no errors but stuck samsung logo for as long as i can wait.
I then booted to stock recovery and notice it says "E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)"
so i did a wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
Reboot. Still stuck at Samsung logo.
I tried to sideload my efs.img but there is a "E: signature not verified" error
So i thought what the heck and flashed Chenglu's CWM via Odin. Phone successfully boot to CWM
i wiped data/factory reset, cache and dalvik. Reboot and still stuck at Samsung logo.
I then tried flashing CF-Autoroot, it was ok as well with no issues but stuck at Samsung logo again.
Rebooted back to CWM, Tried to mount efs, got an error saying error mounting efs
i flashed various stock rom via Odin, all process PASS with green but mostly stucked at samsung logo...
is my device soft bricked? or is my sd card is dead? or is my efs partition fried?
anyone kind enough to share his complete backup file? my country sells the n7105.
i bought the export n7100 instead so its kinda hard for me to find a friend with the same fone.
i have been flashing roms since the good old Galaxy S and this is the 1st time i cannot revive my phone from past experience...
bump for you, im facing the same error.
Hi mate, im not sure if this would work but have you tried the super wipe mod here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925402.
worth a shot cant make it any worse.
also checkout this for a solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/sitesearch.php?q=E: signature not verified
Hi thanks... sadly links are down. will try the super wipe thing.
i remember doing the wipe in TWRP before flashing Criskelo.
i did get away with the signature thing. its easy. just turn it off in CWM.
i went to my local samsung service center and they rejected my phone as its considered "export" to them
did the super wipe.
Flash stock with Odin.
Still keep getting stuck at samsung logo on boot and recovery still shows : Error: Can't mount /efs
cant you restore it to factory settings and return it to where you bought it from.

mine is under warranty, so I could try to restore to stock rom which gets stuck at the samsung logo.
problem is that going into download mode shows this :
custom binary download : 12
Current binary : samsung official
system status : custom
iv had alook round and cant see anything that will fix it, in odin theres a clear efs button.
edit: just found this info on a usb jig that resets counter to 0
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934771
how do I go about clearing the EFS since it is greyed out.
so there's no work other solution to this, except for getting the jig?

Edit the ini file for Odin and set PhoneEFSClear=1 that'll check the EFS Clear option (even though it remains grey). See if that helps.

Has anyone found a solution to this yet?! I have the exact same issues, phone died, then when powered back on was stuck in a boot loop, returned to stock and got the unable to mount efs invalid argument text, now its still stuck in a boot loop with a flash count of 8 so cant be sent in for repair, any advice is greatly appreciated!
I have the exact same problem
i have the same problem . . and to make matter worse i don't even have any warranty . . :crying: . ..
is there no way to to get the phone to boot in to the OS regardless of any functionality ??
I couldn't find the topic where i learned this info, but it's something like this: if you flashed the modem (i think so) and you have an EFS backup like me, you just need to flash any other thing and restore the EFS backup. But, if you don't, you must stay with the modem.
okay, i just found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332913
Good luck. (And press the thanks button if i've helped you :fingers-crossed: )

Seem to have been struck by the same issue and no efs backup prior to this.
Custom binary download: 0
Completely stock Note 2 just got screwed after flashing new 4.4.2 ROM for my country via Odin, the ROM booted fine, transferred contents to PC, factory reset the phone, set google account and reinstalled apps and transferred saved data back. Data, phone calls and everything else was working. The phone got to 10% battery lost network (this is normal lately lol) and shut off when battery died. Phone never rebooted and stuck at Samsung logo. Recovery reports "/efs I/O mount error" tried the guides by ketan and a couple others nothing seems to help
same applies to me. Perhaps some hardware fried is my guess.
I recently rooted my Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100) - following 'High on Android' web site instructions.
Everything went well and I installed Clockwork Mod Recovery (CMR) and I backed up then current ROM successful.
Recently, I got a new update to Gmail so, I decided to backup the ROM again. I ran CMR and I was prompted to name the backup file and I was prompted the phone would reboot and complete the backup.. The result was the phone went into a loop constantly displaying the boot logo.
I overcame the problem by re-rooting the phone using ODIN - the download mode was accessible on the phone.
However I spoke to soon: the phone became increasingly unstable and, it eventual Froze. I tried to do a factory wipe & re-root the phone - That left me in exactly the same position - at the boot logo, dead. I have written an email CMR & High on Android but, they have not replied.
I quickly realised I would have re-flash the phone completely and I sourced the correct files from 'SamsFirmware'.
That's the first question: the file I download was compressed and when it was decompressed it gave me two files;
N7100XXALJ3_N7100OXXALJ4_N7100XXALJ2_HOME.tar.md5 & SS_DL.dll
Q1. Can I run this tar.md5 using ODIN (PDA) function?
Q2. I have read that a file like this need to be further spilt? If so, How?
Q3. If spilt the file into component parts, how will I identify / set up the files to ODIN ?
Mild panic is breaking out here - it's the last time I will ever flash a perfectly working phone again. Any advice or practical instructions you can provide to recovery the situation will be warmly welcomed!
Solved - http://www.lockermike.com/how-tos/a.../unbrick-a-galaxy-note-2-with-stock-firmware/
Thanks for sharing your solution, it's always good to know should anything go wrong. I'm about to flash new custom rom in an attempt to unlock the phone too
I am desperately crying for help here!
I was using cm-10.2 with twrp 2.6, data encrypted.
Now I upgraded to cm-11 and before I needed to upgrade the boot. Now:
1.) I suddenly do not have any service! What can that be? The boot upgrade or cm-11?
2.) I wanted to revert to my cm-10 nandroid upgrade. However, twrp2 always says "Password failed, Please try again". That's impossible it's the correct password! I can start the normal system with the identical password and it used to work always!
So I have a broken phone currently
Can anyone help me out?
Something similar happened to me earlier. Idk if this could be helpful.. I had a encrypted I747 and i flashed CM 10.1 on it, and phone was dead. However,I could go to download mode. So i Odin back to stock att rom. Even after odin i have problem booting because of my earlier encryption, so i factory rested in recovery. it worked for me. But i am not sure, if u have updated to 4.3 bootloader then running odin will brick ur phone.
Did you flash a compatible modem?
Hello!
I just got another Note 7 phone that I am trying to rescue and make usable for me.
I got used to HydraRom 1.4.5 on my primary phone.
The phone I am trying to rescue is SM-N930F.
It has SM-N935F ROM on it, some useful info:
Firmware: N935FXXU1AQI5_XDAVN_STABLE
PDA: N935FXXU1AQI5
Baseband: N930FXXU3BPL1
The phone has TWRP 3.2.1-0-gracelte on it.
I tried to flash HydraRom via it, I suceeded but when I turned on the phone and put my SIM card in, on every restart it says something about SIM Update...
I Have IMEI and S/N on the HydraRom so EFS is not corrupted. I am able to take calls on the phone and messages. But the connection is only 3G/H+, on the Note 7 FE Rom I wrote above LTE and everything works fine. On the HydraRom i can´t access LTE or it still says SIM update.
I tried to flash FULL firmwares BL+AP+CP+CSC N930FXXU2BPI7 which work fine on my primary Note 7.
But ODIN fails to flash BL because of it is downgrade. It fails on param.bin and phone writes SWcheck rev fail.
So for the right functionality I tried to load HydraRom via TWRP and then only CP+CSC which ended by null IMEI.
After my last experience I made whole system backup including EFS so when I restored everything works fine on the Note FE rom.
I am now little bit afraid of flashing because at some point phone could not be booted up or TWRP had problems with unmountable data or extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255
Can you please give me little help how to have: Working HydraRom, with LTE, OK IMEI.
Donation to your PayPal for sure.
It is easy to downgrade for N930F,l. Just flash a combination and then you can flash U1 firmware.
I solved my primary problem with no LTE connectivity, but not with flashing combination, just by reflashing another official ROm then installing HydraRom, thank you.
But I have another little problem.
I have many Note 7 phones home and when they are turning on there is Black font on white screen. After that Samsung logo animation starts to appear.
When I was installing HydraRom i ticked by mistake to replace bootanimation by HydraRom.
I would like to have stock one. But his can´t be done by reinstalling the ROM because there are two possibilities: keep the current animation or install HydraRom animation.
I tried to copy all bootnimation .qmg files in system/media/ from phone with original bootanimation to one with HydraRom animation, it does not make any difference. I replaced files with root explorer and also tried with TWRP file manager.
I also tried reinstalling whole AP via ODIN and installing United States ROM, odin passed and ROM was installed OK, but whole problem was that the bootlogo was still there.
HydraRom Shows instantly after pressing power button.
That logo appears also when entering Recovery or download mode. Whole AP was replaced and didn´t replace the logo.
I want to have that Note 7 in best condition for future, as I want original Bootanimation and so during system startup.
Can you pelase tell me where to find those files and how to replace them? Or do I need to replace Bootloader via ODIN?
Thanks
I solved this problem, developer answered me that it is not about bootnimation but about splash screen. So I reinstalled stock one via HydraRom but this was also possible to do by reflashing bootloader via odin.
