I'm really new to this, hopefully someone can help me. I rooted my phone via method 3 in the Zenfone 2 resources thread. I didn't want to update but the phone downloaded it and I thought it might be ok. The phone updated and got stuck in a bootloop. I believe the update was Z00A 2.19.40.22 ( it was like 34mb?). I read all the threads I could and came to this one. I downloaded the preroot image Z00A 2.19.22 because in my recovery at the top ,it said that was what was on it now. Did I make a mistake there, should I have downloaded an older preroot image? I followed all the directions on recovering from a bootloop ( This thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-to-apply-ota-bootloop-rooted-zf2-t3127835. The phone booted up after the install and I was able to go through the setup. The phone suddenly froze though and I restarted. It gets past the Asus logo and then is stuck at a black screen with the green led blinking. What do I do from here? Is the phone just dead now? Is there a possibility of saving it?
More info- Before downloading the preroot I did try to factory reset from recovery. I was still stuck with bootloop. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it a lot.
Hi All,
I need your help :crying:
I have Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML which was bought couple of months back. Since it had lots of bloatware apps, I thought of installing unofficial cyanogen mode 12.1 os in my phone. Though the installation was successful, I was forced to uninstall this too early as it had too many bugs.
As a initial step I tried to restore the original recover and I was successful. But in between I tried flashing the boot and something went wrong. Now I am unable to go to the boot loader option - it always shows a 'usb' icon. I tried with power button + volume button combinations, also I tried adb reboot-bootloader but no luck. All these options took me to a screen where it shows just a usb icon image.
Could you please help me to restore the boot loader ? Also please help me to restore my original firmware.. Please...:crying:
Appreciate your efforts.
Seby
hard briked, same here, hope somebody here on xda can help us
It sounds like you flashed the wrong image file on boot partition... Beware copy and paste when doing this...

Take back to ASUS and hope it will be replaced under warranty....
Similar tragedy happened to me few months ago. Flashed the wrong file, and the recovery partition missing. On zenfone 5. Somehow the phone still boot with cm12.1. Tried everything, still unsolved. Not yet tried asus service centre. So i give that phone to my sister, and i bought this zenfone 2. Lesson learned. ?

xfstk-downloader
The only way out is to use xfstk-downloader. But the problem is in missing required files FW DnX, IFWI, OS DnX, OS Image files. Especially last two of them which can't be found in firmware files. Same solution already exists for Zenfone 5/6
hey guys my G4 apparently bootlooped itself for some reason so i factory reset it which didnt help. This lead me to use lgup to flash the same MM that the phone was running from a .kdz file. Now after the flash it just stays on the LG bootimg screen and wasn't booting up. I removed the battery and put it on again and this time the phone shut off. I also have no recovery mode and when i attempt to boot into download mode it just stays at the icon and doesn't go to the firmware update screen so ive been doing some research and it says the bootloader is most likely the problem. My computer also recognizes it as the 'qhsusb_bulk' error but i came across no solution.
Can anyone give me some advice on what to do here...thanks in advance
I don't know where to start. So I changed the resolution of my LG G3 F400L to 1080p via terminal. then I reboot it. The LG boot logo appear, after waiting for a while the logo won't go anywhere. the boot sound can be heard also when I touch the screen I can hear unlocking sound and touch feedback which means my device is working properly JUST the LG bootlogo covers up everything just like a curtain.
Another thing is, I tried to boot it to recovery to restore my firmware but it just won't work. My device has TWRP flashed by AutoRec. I used every button combination and tried like 100 times each that I found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/f400l-recovery-t2960352 but the device won't boot to recovery. It just boots normally and stuck on LG bootlogo as I mentioned above.
Running to a dead end. I put my device to download mode (which the only mode that I'm able to do) to flash my device back to stock ROM using LG Flash Tool. After a few processes it stucks at S\W Upgrade part saying "Upgrade stopped due to an error". Just so you know I have the latest driver installed.
The stress and frustration really makes me want to bump my head to death. Any help and solution IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Please Help me.
Hello guys,
I think I cracked up my Zenfone 2 551ML completely and I don't even know why..
I just wanted to flash android 6 stock rom instead of 5.0 which I had installed.. and now my device does nothing anymore. It just shows up the asuslogo white background black color. but then nothing. YES i have unlocked my bootloader and I think I destroyed my bootloader.
I've tried EVERYTHING I could find on the web
I found this xfstk tool to reinstall my bootloader but it doesnt work it says: "Firmware download completed. Continuing to OS..." and then my phone restarts showing the asus logo and doing nothing. and the timeout runs out and my device is not detected in device manager under IntelSoC anymore. it only detects my device when I power it off and then power it on but only for a few seconds then it disappears in device manager again..
I'm so frustrated I don't know what to do. I did everything as in the instructions. all drivers are installed...
What shall I do to get it back to life (except bringin it to a support center cz I won't do that).
I was in same situation and with this guide i got it work again
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=68477856
Be sure to set the correct address in xfstk 0x80000807 (4 zero after first 8). some guides here showing a wrong address with 5 zero.
Further i did not used AsusFlashTool, i made all steps manually as described.
Good luck.
