LeEco, the global Internet company that is disrupting the Indian smartphone market, launched its new line of smartphones – the Le 2 and Le Max2 a few months ago to an overwhelming response. More recently, the company announced a special offer for Diwali where its flagship, the Le Max2 is available at Rs. 17,999 on LeMall, Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal – no strings attached!

If you haven’t heard of LeEco’s great “value for money” superphones, let us show you how it compares to the latest flagships from well-known brands! We are pitting the Le Max2 against Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and HTC’s uniquely named 10.
PERFORMANCE
To start off, all three smartphones boast top-end specifications in almost every department – 4GB RAM, 32/64GB Internal Memory, at least a 3000 mAh Battery, support for the latest Wi-Fi standards and almost all network frequencies! So, all of them are snappy performers. The Galaxy S7 uses Samsung’s own Exynos line of processors and they are comparable to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processors on the HTC 10 and Le Max2. It’s a tie here because all three flagships run smoothly no matter what you throw at them.
DISPLAY
The Galaxy S7 has a vivid 5.1-inch SAMOLED display with Quad HD resolution that makes colors pop. The HTC 10 uses a 5.2-inch SLCD display with Quad HD resolution that is known for its true-to-life colors. The Le Max2 goes big with a 5.7-inch IPS display with Quad HD resolution! Place these smartphones next to each other and the difference is obvious! While the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have great displays, the Le Max2 is no slouch either, and it takes the prize in this category because “bigger is better” when it comes to displays!
DESIGN & BUILD
Samsung continues its metal and glass design with the Galaxy S7, rounding out a few edges and the phone feels like a premium fingerprint magnet. HTC goes with its now-famous all-metal build on the 10, adding a huge bevel on the edges that makes the phone stand out in a crowd. LeEco iterates on their successful full-metal design that is a head turner in Rose Gold because of its symmetry! Tie here.
CAMERA
In this department, while the Le Max2 has a higher Megapixel count, that’s not the end of the story. As serious photographers will tell you, Megapixels matter, but so do other things like Aperture and Processing. The Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have lower resolution cameras with smaller Aperture that results in great low light photos. The Le Max2’s camera is not bad, it captures amazing photos in good lighting conditions. However, it is an average performer when it comes to low light photography. If LeEco goes with a better Aperture size in the future, we’ll be completely sold! The Galaxy S7 takes the edge here with a better aperture size and crispy processing.
BATTERY
All three phones come with non-removable batteries, though the Le Max2 fits in an an extra 100 mAh battery capacity that might help with those last-minute “my phone is dying” phone calls we all make.
SOUND
Both the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 have the usual 3.5 mm analog audio port but LeEco is trying something new with its Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) standard delivered through the USB Type-C port! Listening to music on the Le Max2 with the CDLA earphones showed us how much we missed out earlier. The same tracks sound richer, with perfect bass and treble. Forget all the hoopla about custom DACs on smartphones, if the industry follows this standard, we’ll not need to worry about audio quality at all – for the vast majority of us.
CONTENT
The future is here and content is king! This revolution in India was started by LeEco in February this year and we can already see major players scrambling to bundle some kind of content with their smartphones. Xiaomi gave away a few months of Hungama Music along with their smartphones, and now OnePlus gives users a 1-year subscription to Saavn Pro for all their music listening needs. The older players, Samsung and HTC haven’t bought into this model yet, so LeEco walks away with the honors in this section. The 1-year LeEco Membership that comes bundled with the Le Max2 offers 2000+ premium movies, 100+ Live TV channels, 3.5 Million songs and 5 TB cloud storage! This is a game changer for the smartphone industry in India.
PRICE
The Galaxy S7’s lowest variant costs Rs. 48,400 while the HTC 10 is unreasonably expensive at Rs. 52,990. The Le Max2 was favorably priced at Rs. 22,999 until last week and is now a steal at Rs. 17,999!
VERDICT
We hope this comparison shows you why we consider the Le Max2 a winner. It is in the same league as the flagships from Samsung and HTC while costing about a third of what you’d usually pay. While some users might be enamored by the ads about water resistance on the Galaxy S7, we don’t think an average buyer wants to pay 30,000 rupees for that feature.
The Le Max2 offers reasonable storage, good performance, great audio quality and, most importantly, the biggest catalog of content! There are so many ways that the LeEco Membership adds value to the end-user that it boggles the mind – you can’t consume all that content even if you try!
LeEco is redefining the phrase “value for money” because you’ll not have to worry about any additional costs when you want to listen to music, watch movies, catch the latest news from your favorite TV channel or even when you want to store your data in the cloud!

On UMI ZERO 2's facebook page we can now see a picture showing “Duplex Life, the best from UMI”.
• What does duplex life mean? A dual-screen phone? I remember the first dual-screen phone was from Yota phone2, where one screen is made by Samsung and the back side has an EPD screen.
• The EPD screen is using E ink technology. If you look at Kindle from Amazon, then you will know how the screen looks like.
• The thing with this screen is that it will be perfectly readable even in the brightest sunshine: Fiction, Facebook, Twitter, news, RSS-feeds, blogs, mail, messaging etc.
• All in all, it’s likely that UMI ZERO 2 going to be the world’s second dual-screen smartphone made with EPD. And it seems that UMI will continue with a SAMSUNG display after the first UMI ZERO.
• The official retail price is still unknown, but could get high.
PS. This is an very early engineering sample, it seems that this one still doesn't have the dual display!
Specifications (still unconfirmed)
- MTK6752 SoC 1.7GHz Octa-core
- Mali-T760 GPU
- 13 megapixel rear / 8 megapixel front
- 5.2 inch Full HD 1080p Samung display
- 3GB RAM / 16GB ROM
- Support for 4G LTE
- Support microSD card & OTG
- Dual SIM - Dual Standby

UMI Zero 2 To Feature 4GB of RAM & Helio X20?
Although we had heard a few rumors about the upcoming UMI Zero flagship a few weeks back, recently, there hasn't been much news about this device. However, earlier today, we came across another piece of information about the UMI Zero 2 flagship. It is said that the device will come with 4GB of RAM on board, which if true, will be a first for a UMI smartphone.
In fact, even today, there aren't many 4GB RAM phones in the market. If this does turn out to be true, UMI will join the ranks of the few premium smartphone makers who have released such a device. This much amount of RAM means you no longer have to worry about lag during multi-tasking as it will handle any task thrown at it with ease.
As for the processor, the UMI Zero 2 will reportedly come with a Helio X series chipset. Given that the company is adding 4GB RAM inside, its likely that the phone will feature the deca-core Helio X20 chipset for maximum performance. However, this may drive up the cost unnecessarily, and hence, the company may decide to settle with the MT6795 Helio X10 octa-core chip. Even this processor is quite capable of powering flagship devices, so it won't be disappointing to see it inside the Zero 2.
UMI seems to be making a smart decision by using the Helio X series processor instead of Snapdragon 810. Despite the claims from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 810 is still believed to overheat when used for a long time. As a result, this chip has often been the target of consumer criticism. So, using the powerful Helio X series chip (either X10 or X20) seems to be the right decision at the moment.
As per the previous rumors, UMI could be working on two variants of the flagship UMI Zero 2, one with the dual display and another with a real leather back cover, like the one on the LG G4. The phone will reportedly come with a 5.2-inch QHD panel, 20MP camera and the new USB Type-C port.
Unfortunately, we have no further information about the UMI Zero 2 at the moment, but we will keep you guys updated with new details in the coming weeks.
I'm planning to buy this phone, is there any weakness i should know before?
Looks great!
UMI ZERO 2 will come with premium Liquid metal body
We have been hearing a lot about the upcoming UMi Zero 2 flagship. The latest information on the handset says that the phone will feature 4GB of RAM, which will make it the first such device from the company till date. While the specs are turning out to be quite impressive so far, earlier today we came across some new information about this upcoming handset. And it’s quite interesting too.
According to the latest rumors, the UMi Zero 2 will come with a premium Liquid Metal body. I am sure you would have heard of this alloy which is reportedly tougher than any other material used for a smartphone housing. Its extreme durability and strength has made this alloy quite popular. In fact, Apple has been using the same Liquid Metal for some of its small components. Even though its been years since we first heard about this alloy, smartphones have not yet used this material on a wide scale. In fact, only the Turning Phone can boast of featuring a Liquid Metal body till now. So, it would really be surprising to see a local Chinese manufacturer like UMi use this material for its own device.
Of course, nothing is confirmed so far, so its still very early to make conclusions about the phone's body. Even if the phone doesn't come with Liquid Metal body, other specifications are sure to impress the masses, especially when priced right. Let’s wait for more information about the UMi Zero 2 which should hopefully debut sometime before the end of this year.

First Snapdragon 820 processor phones
Le Max Pro with the previous Max phone looks very similar, Letv defined "bezel-less" "metal body", "no screw design," etc. also appears on the "Music Max Pro". Its biggest selling point is undoubtedly its processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is the latest and most high-end mobile processor, using a new 14-nanometer FinFET process technology, integrated Adreno 530 graphics processor, official data performance compared to previous generation up to 40%. And lower power consumption than the previous generation.
Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner
The phone also is the first to employ Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which doesn't require the use of buttons or sensors. As a result, the fingerprint reader can be embedded in a phone's screen. It is said sweat can avoid interference and other factors, compared to the previous fingerprint recognition technology is more accurate.
LeTV Max Pro also support Wi-Fi 802.11ad, and is the first model equipped with the technology. Not only will this provide for faster speeds while using a Wi-Fi network, it also supports the use of a wireless docking system. Users will be able to wirelessly connect the phone to a mouse and physical QWERTY keyboard.
Other hardware Le Max Pro uses a 6.33 inches 2K screen, with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, rear main camera equipped with a Sony 21 million camera, front camera is using a 4 million super-pixel camera. Max Pro using Type-C interface, supports the latest Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology, charging faster, 2 times faster than the first generation QC fast charge technology. QC 3.0 technology also adds intelligent control technology, the transmission of electricity through the intelligent control algorithm, can reduce the fast charge to the battery damage, maximum extend mobile phone battery life.

Letv Le Max Pro, first Snapdragon 820 Octa core 4GB phone is coming on Jan.5,2016
Now i read the news from Chinese tech. It’s said Letv will usher Letv Le Max Pro smartphone on Jan. 5, 2016, and it will release the event at Caesars Palace in LA .
From sources the phone, codenamed the X910, will feature a 5.5-inch 2K display, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 21 mega-pixel main camera and will be a true bezel-less design with 2.5D glass display.
Leaked renders of the phone show a very sleek design which has a curved rear and 3D curved display. The render also seems to show an impression on the chin where a home button fingerprint scanner may sit.
So will you look forward to this Letv Le Max Pro smartphone?
Looking forward to seeing this x910
My x800 sent this
I don't understand why these are rumors if they already showed it off at CES.

I thought that fingerprint scanners on screens were BS but I guess we're that far ahead already.
It's rumored Letv le Max pro will be on sale on Feb 23 at 3,699 RMB around $567. It seems it is so expensive for the users. And there is some interested rumor that Letv will release Letv Le Max Pro on Feb 23, before Xiaomi Mi5 Officially launches. So Xiaomi and Letv has become the best rival in smartphone industry.
Seems like this phone might never be released, at this rate....
Where to buy?
Anyone know what the story with pricing is? Was originally touted as $350 - 400 US but its no on sale at 600-700 which frankly isnt competitive with the GS7. Had my hopes set on this one but not at this kinda pricing.

Hi guys,
This is Rakesh and today I am sharing my views on the LeEco Le 1s that I have been using for the past month. Yes, we all know that LeEco, formerly known as Letv, launched two smartphones in the market - Le 1s and Le Max. The Le 1s is priced at Rs. 10999 and the Le Max (64GB) is priced at Rs. 32999. Le 1s is their lowest priced phone but at the same time gives features of a flagship phone. LeEco claims that they are selling Le 1s at lesser than BOM (Bill of Materials) price (which is more than Rs. 16000). Let’s move on to the review then.

BUILD & DESIGN
The first time I opened the box I was like “Wow, awesome!”, yes guys it looks great, it really looks fantastic. One of the most beautiful phones I have ever seen. The mirror-surfaced fingerprint sensor, a smart looking camera and all metal body - all these things make Le 1s a looker! It looks premium and it feels premium. The weight is a bit on the upper side but still with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and bezel-less design it is very handy and easy to use.
9/10
SCREEN & MULTIMEDIA
Le 1s comes with a 5.5-inch LCD IPS Display covered by Gorilla Glass 3. The display is great with awesome colours and contrast levels. It is sharp enough and watching Full HD videos on the display is a visual treat. Mediatek’s clear motion technology is there, so there is not even a single frame drop. It can compete with flagship phones for sure.
9/10
CAMERA
Le 1s comes with a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. Rear camera is an ISOCELL unit with PDAF and high aperture for low light capturing. Still, with all these features, this is where Le 1s suffers a bit. The daylight pictures are good with good details and natural colours but in lowlight the camera is just okay. The pictures turned out to be noisy and macro shots turned out to be “whitish” in low light. I also found some reddish tint on the photo. Front camera is good enough for video calling but for selfie lovers it will be a “hit or miss” as the camera works sometime good and sometime bad. Lots of software optimisation is needed in the camera section as the basic things like “beauty mode” is missing. I hope LeEco will release an OTA update which can rectify these issues. UPDATE: The latest OTA improved the camera experience by a huge margin – both front and rear cameras!
8.5/10
PERFORMANCE
This is where Le 1s outshines every other smartphone in the same category. Le 1s has Mediatek’s current flagship 64-bit Octa Core Processor MT6795 Turbo (aka Helio x10 Turbo) clocked at 2.2 Ghz. Almost every other smartphone in this price range uses cheaper processors while LeEco uses this flagship processor. We can find this processor even in the flagship phone of HTC M9 (Which costs almost 45 K). Le 1s also has 3GB RAM with the system using almost 1.5 GB RAM but still the phone performs very well. No lag at all. Almost every high end game plays butter smooth. I have tested Asphalt 8 and Temple Run, both run fluidly. As far as the performance is concerned, it is really a beast. It warms a little bit, but that is common for all metal smartphones, so not a deal breaker for me.
9.5/10
CONNECTIVITY
Le 1s supports 2G/3G/4G networks in India. Everything is working fine. I didn’t experience any network issue so far. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are up to the mark. Le 1s supports dual SIM - one micro and one nano. Both are working perfectly fine. A small negative side is that it doesn’t support VoLTE, so for Reliance Jio users it is a deal breaker. Still it satisfied me. Thumbs up!
8.5/10
MEMORY
Le 1s comes with 32 GB of internal memory which is really good considering the price. It doesn’t support SD cards but it supports OTG. I was able to connect a 64 GB pen drive through USB Type C OTG cable and it was really fast and I had a nice experience. Overall at this price range it is really good.
8/10
SOUND QUALITY
The external speakers perform well and after plugging in earphones, it sounds really great. It is superior to the competition in this price range. Soothing to the ears and a good option for audiophiles.
8.5/10
PROS:
Stunning design
Premium Feel
Great Display
Good Speakers & Sound Quality
CONS:
Okay Camera
No VoLTE
No External SD card support
Considering the price point of 10999, LeEco provides a super “value for money” product which can break all records in the Indian mobile market. As their tag suggests a #SuperPhone at a #SuperPrice…
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
Verdict: Paisa Wasool..!

Leaked News:
This season has seen a lot of big phones. Some are even commenting that this is the season that will mark the return of the big phone. Is that true? Well, so far, it seems so.
UMi has been on the forefront of technology ever since its inception. This season, they have successfully launched the UMi Super (including its EURO Edition) and of course, the UMi London (which has just started shipping for UMi's buyers). What next then? The UMi Max!
What will the UMi Max be about? Let’s imagine from the name! Maybe it will come with a 6-inch screen. Not enough? Maybe it’ll feature an AMOLED display! So no more sub-pat LCD displays on your big phone. Anyway, UMi Max is going to be a phone that is made to do big things.
After using a lot of big phones, including the Xiaomi Mi Max, LeEco Le Max 2 and the Nubia Z11 Max, they thought the big phone market needed something that’s truly special and made with the consumer in mind. The next will be UMi Max?

UMi Max Walk in front of Iphone 7
Few days back UMi revealed to the world our upcoming project, the UMi Max. The UMi Max is the result of the increasing requirement of a big phone that does not suck. What that means is that the UMi Max will be a truly ‘max’ phone with everything big.
When UMi revealed the Max, they mentioned maybe it is going to be a phone with a 6-inch screen. Bear in mind, to ensure proper screen utilization and epic contrast rates, maybe UMi will choose an AMOLED panel over the standard IPS display (for example, the display on Mi Max).
Except screen, what else you will think about from the name of UMi Max?
UMi Max maybe will go one step further and will likely come with 6GB of RAM. As many of you may know, even the Mi Max does not offer 6GB of RAM.
Not only that, UMi Max walk in front of Iphone 7! we are also considering shipping the phone with 128GB of on board storage so you don’t need to worry about running out of space!

Samsung Galaxy Note7 Declare War to UMi Max
Samsung announced a flagship in the Samsung Note7. It is the first phone from Samsung to feature iris unlock, but there is a little bit of innovation for Note 7. However, the Samsung Galaxy Note7 will cost a meaty $849.99 which makes us wonder… WHY, SAMSUNG! How can we afford?
Reacting to this, UMi honchos revealed that their upcoming UMi Max will be very similar to the Note7. But at the same time, will be made for the consumer with the price and experience in the mind. The executives said that the appearance, memory, battery life, USB Type-C interfaces, of the UMi Max will be comparable with the Samsung Galaxy Note7.
Design:
The UMi Max will have a symmetrical aesthetic appearance which will be staged, ergonomic. It will be comparable to the magnesium alloy technology used on the iPhone, which brings an excellent feel and sense of visual impact.
RAM:
Taking into account the kind of requirements of today’s world, the UMi Max will support a large RAM quantity (possibly 6GB RAM) along with a microSD slot for memory expansion to PK Note 7.
Battery:
UMi Max will go beyond what the Note7 has on offer. And it will have exclusive saving battery method. Thus, you can expect hours and hours of usage time without having to worry about battery life one bit!
USB Type-C:
ForSamsung, this is the first time to use Type-C, but for UMi, it’s not the first time.
so we are no alien to the technology. And of course, the UMi Max will support USB Type-C!
Price:
We must learn to deal with products and consumers. We want to make consumers our friends, rather than to earn money from them. The UMi max will give you a surprisingly lucrative price and an experience beyond satisfactory!

Nowadays, a lot of companies promise premium build quality on their smartphones, but not everyone manages to match the expectations when their product is released.
UMi, on the other hand, has always been confident about the quality of its products. The company showed different times in the past how their products are manufactured, showing materials and productive processes used in order to achieve the ideal result.
The UMi Plus E, the latest flagship made by the chinese company, makes no exception. UMi released today a video where you can see the full working process which transforms a piece of metal into the finely crafted body of the Plus E, In this case the Onyx Black variant, showing how much work and care is put behind every single unit.
More than 125 complex processes to making one Onyx Black UMi Plus E
The process starts when choosing the best aluminium alloy 6000 series, which is finely assembled to give the best possible tolerance when facing bumps and falls without deforming. Then, the body faces some CNC polishing processes, to give the smoothest and refined feeling to the touch: sandblasting, Anodic Oxidation, manual sand papering. After putting the logo and writings with laser, openings are made and the frame is finely worked, then the coating is applied, to give the final appearance of the device.
It’s a very simplified description of what happens in these 125 processes, but it gives the idea of how much care and attention is needed when crafting every single unit of the UMi Plus E, it’s a process which relies constantly on the experience and the craftsmanship of the artisans involved, something which would be impossible to achieve if only machines were used in the process.

Looks like a great phone. A friend has the regular UMi Plus and it performs very well. The only issue with it is the GPS performance is very poor, it hops/stutters around a lot.
Does anyone know if the new chipset in the UMi Plus Extreme will address the GPS problem or is there an easy fix which can be applied to the UMi Plus Extreme? I'd like to purchase the UMi Plus Extreme but I need good GPS functionality as I rely on Google Navigation a lot whilst driving.
Not sure if 6GB of RAM will ever be utilized fully
