oneplus 3 missing blacklist - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I have a OnePlus 3, update oxygen 3.2.6, Android 6.0.1.
I really like to keep oxygen instead of using cyanogen mod, but Oxygen does not have built in call blacklist.
I like the built in version, cause it saves stored numbers even after an update, and it's fast, easy to use.
Is there a zip mod or anyway to restore the blacklist?

Looking for stable daily usage with call blocking feature with wildcards custom rom

As title stated + nougat based rom with clean stock feel.
Wildcards mean like auto blocking unknown number not in contact, hidden number, 4 digit number auto block.
I remember got that feature in CM rom and missed it so much. I've tried the unofficial CM 14 but it's buggy.
Now i'm using stock oos . I've been using various call blocking apps and got so many headache. The non root version will likely to hang up the phone which is kinda rude, while the root version like RCB is not working, and root call and sms manager is buggy..

What's the best custom ROM for 5t out there?

OnePlus's aggressive battery optimization is the worst optimization I've ever seen on a smartphone! i won't go into much detail coz every body knows it, I give up on OOS, so i want to settle for custom roms so please recommend me the best custom for this device and also if it's possible, how i can migrate my apps/app data to custom roms.
thank you.
Hi,
i never flash rom in my 5T but i have same opinion !
i wait expert rom 5T but i see Paranoid Quartz 2 !
Have you tried oos 10 beta ? I had agressive battery optimization issues on oos 9 too but no more since i flashed oos 10 beta

Yes sort of. I can't confirm this but I feel it's a lot better.
May be this (https://www.androidauthority.com/oneplus-background-apps-1028409/) finally came to our 5/5t

thanks for the update. i always liked an app i left hours ago being freezed at exactly where i was with out the app refreshing each time i get back. what i mean is my previous iphone/galaxy used to do that i.e i will quit facebook like hours ago and when i get back it will be at exact point (post/comment) i was borrowing.
Is it like that on OOS 10 now?

So I tried to left Twitter in recents for an hour and when I re opened it, the app doesn't have to restart but it's not exactly at the same state. It may be caused by some other apps (xda, reddit, galerie, camera, Snapchat and skype) that were also in recents and needed to free some memory
However oos 10 is worth a try, those new animation feel much better than on oos 9

thank you for your time i appreciate it. anyway clearing the recent apps all the time stresses the memory and in somehow wastes your time. later versions of android efficiently manage background apps [recents] so it won't eat up your battery and you won't wait longer when getting back to your apps.
you can try PE Plus
It is a preference to be fair but out of the main ROMs the stable choices with frequent support and updates appear to be
Oxygen os based:
Theone5tOS
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/rom-theone5tos-v1-0-t3729798
Pixel based:
Pixel experience (or optional plus version with extras)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/rom-pixel-experience-t3976333
Stock android based:
DerpFest (very customisable)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/rom-unofficial-aosip-aka-derpfest-t3978357
Crdroid
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/rom-crdroid-android-6-t3972533
They are the most stable and frequently updated which some people would class as best.
While others would say best is for battery life and if so then usually pie builds without gapps if possible say like
Lineage OS 16
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/rom-lineageos-16-0-pie-oneplus-5t-t3843026
Would be your best bet as you would save a lot just removing all the bloatware and background features that comes with gapps.
Again it's preferance and based on individual use cases same reason why people publishing SOT means absolutely nothing. As unless they show a before and after with a guide to drastically change the battery life ; all they're doing is saying if you use it like me you may get this time (some people only text and phone and some game while others are social media butterflies).

PS. as long as you sync all you apps and photos and data with Google everything will transfer to the new ROM. when you sign in with your Google account pick restore from cloud.
If you have anything that is installed from another source or a patched app ; then you can use Titanium backup to backup all apps and restore them when you have installed the new ROM.
Usual procedure to change ROM is :
1.Unlock bootloader
2.Install twrp or another custom recovery. ( I recommend orangefox as you can manage magisk modules easy through it.)
3.wipe system and data but do not format data where SD is if you want to keep what's on your phone's drive. (never wipe vendor as it has the treble files in it.)
4. Flash ROM zip you have chosen.
5. Flash magisk if you want root with mods if not just the keep recovery zip if installing oos. (oos replaces twrp or other recovery's with oos ones when installing not a big problem as can be flashed through fastboot again.)
6.optional you can install custom kernal or no Verity at this point.
7.reboot into new ROM (sometimes takes 10 minutes or so to boot up.) and restore desired files and apps by clicking restore from the cloud.
I've only wrote this second part of the reply as you also asked for advice on transitioning to a new ROM and keeping apps ect. Even though for more advice on the unlocking and rooting I would read the available guide.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/oneplus-5t-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3704592
you can try pixel rom, but overall I think stock rom is best. And this is oneplus, so, stock roms are so close to any other custom rom.
Yes, i agree with you before i update to Android 10. I experienced a poor battery life compared to Android 9; i make improvements installing a custom kernel but i'm far away from battery life of Android 9.

Hello.
First, thank you.
How to go back to OxygenOS? If users don't like or have some issue.
Does it matter if routed or not ?
I saw that Color OS 12 have "Rise phone to ear to answer a call". This is great.
Does it do Wipe? I'm on crappy Beta 2, hoping they fixed some critical flaws...
No. Instalation is like upgrade, not wipeing your data. Photo, music, docs still in the phone.
I've watch the video.
Installed update everything works pretty good didn't notice any issues yet. Google play all here.
Do you still get annoying VoWifi permanent notification and does anyone is using Work profiles (I'm not able to even change password in he work profile...) ? Also my phone is rebooting randomly when connected via BT in the car in combination with Android Auto and mobile connection is extremely unstable, I hope they have fixed it otherwise I'm probably going to throw this mobile away :-( This is valid for Beta 2 btw.
Stable version of ColorOS Android 12? Wait, what does this mean for OOS 12, development is stopped for OOS and we are to move to ColorOS if we want A12?

I can't extract the boot.img for root, do you have it?
I don't understand people saying that Color OS C36 Stable is running fine for them. For me, so far I got following issues :
- the default DPI 360 is too low for me, changing to 420 DPI is much better but it get reset after restart
- you can't configure to launch camera using double Power button press, now it's Volume UP/DOWN
- Developer settings is getting "disabled" after reboot (and settings are reset) to prevent 'phone to be unstable'
- by default MOBILE DATA are set to be Always enabled (can be turned off in Developers settings)
- I can't force to have same PIN/Password for Work profile - it doesn't stay enabled
- Google and other apps are frequently loosing permissions, eg. to even access contacts (doesn't matter if Permission monitoring is disabled or not)
- Android Auto doesn't work for me and it anyway asks when connecting always to choose connecting method (why????)
- phone is full of Chinese crap (not all aps can be removed while I believe during update they will anyway install back)
- phone is also heavily integrated with some Chinese Cloud solution - HeyTap Cloud and some of their Chinese payment method
- Nova Google Companion doesn't work anymore, didn't have time to take a look on it yet
The good thing - annoying VoWifi notification is gone (was present in the OxygenOS Open Beta).
So, I will for sure switch back to OxygenOS (aparently I'm going to loose ALL User data?) BUT I don't understand one thing.
Are we getting OxygenOS final 12, or it's ColorOS 12 as final version ? (yes I know about merging yet I don't get the Beta 12 OxygenOS stuff).
Thank you.

why dont you try reset device from recovery
The camera app have xPan mode ?
It is very stable, VERY nice, but as someone mentioned before, with default language as Amerikin English, I get a lot of apps that default to chinese. I am still trying to get my oneplus health watch to pair today. Overall, I want to see this brought to America, but, more globalized.
Thank you OP for letting me check this out! Testing Android Auto soon.
Thank you thank you thank you!

Any idea on the question related to the OxygenOS vs ColorOS ? Will also OxagenOS get final v12?

Bruh. Also, I turn off VoWifi since it causes a constant wakelock. VoLTE is good enough for me.
I did a local upgrade from ob 2
It works fine for me. I uninstall chinese bloatware.
Bluetooth works fine for me. I test my bone connector headphones and my smart watch.
It's Beautifull that i can uninstall google BS !!!
I love the gesture that i miss on Oxygen OS, "Rise phone to answer a call" . There is more on Color OS "Rise phone to make a call"

Question Installing Custom ROM on OnePlus 9 Pro / degoogled / Restore from Stock ROM

Hello everyone,
since my OnePlus 9 Pro doesn't work as fast as I expect, I'm wondering if installing a custom operating system would make it faster. I want degoogled phone, and I would like to be able to restore WhatsApp Chats from OxygenOS backup.
Which Custom ROM do you recommend? LineageOS?
Will Android be faster after installing Custom ROM and is it even necessary to install Custom ROM for speed? Or do you have a suggestion of what to do with OxygenOS to make it fast?
Thank you!
I would find a aosp rom most pute source if you want speed. Also if I were you I would use swift backup to save and restore my apps and data if going to other roms
toolhas4degrees, can you explain how can I do that? at least the first thing you mentioned?
hello,
Long story short:
1. CustomRom: Carbon Rom because battery life is good but for bugs you need to check for yourself
Optional for Battery-Life improvement and issue tracking:
1. "MinMicroG" as a flashable option instead of Gapps ( Skip this if you don't want microG and use Google apps)
2. app "Warden" to analyize apps which are using "Trackers, Google Analytic Services and Ad services" (Some Apps are extreme battery hogs probably because of some Services, Receivers and Wakelocks as i recognized)
3. use app like Servicely or similiar to disable receivers and services (as mentioned above)
4. Use Gsam Battery Monitor for Wakelocks and an advanced battery-usage-Statistic
5. Tasker for Automation for turning things off like Wifi etc. (only for experienced or "willing to learn" users, not necessary)
Note: Custom Rom with MicroG support is needed for MicroG to work (CarbonRom, LineageOS)
Note: For OSS Backups i have no experience, normally Whatsapp makes a backup to Google Drive or atleast local on your phone.
@AndroiduserBlazeIf you need some guidance trough the mentioned procedures, i will try to guide you through.
Ps: if you are still OSS with all your data in place, you can backup and restore via Android Debug Bridge
Best Regard's
Alex1911
Is Carbon ROM faster than LineageOS?
It is difficult to say, I think CarbonRom and LineageOS are close up but not really similar.
I would prefer CarbonRom (android 11) because you can customize your experience a little bit more than LineageOS. I have ran and still run CarbonRom with issues of course but a battery life way better then OSS in my experience.
The other Customroms with Android 12 are not really stable.
I had similar problem with my Huawei P8 LITE 2017 PRALX1, since the last emui update my phone was slow and soft crashing every time and battery wouldnt last long (screen turns black and i'm back at the unlock screen) so I decided to at least try to fix it, after somes adventures I unlocked the bootloader and installed LineageOS 17.1 with android 10 (recent version dont work very well yet, think it comes from the kernel)
My phone was running as new, battery was lot more better, and everything worked except the back camera, I think I broke it when I was opening the phone (tbh not a big deal since I never use cameras anyways)
I opted for LineageOS though. Can anyone tell me how to restore WhatsApp (because it is the only application I want to restore) on the newly installed Custom ROM? Can this chat database be found in Google's drive and just copied to the new Whatsapp on LineageOS?
Thanks in advance!
Can someone tell me why this error appears by trying to flash LinegeOS;
"error: cannot load 'lineage-18.1-20220308-recovery-lemonadep.img': No such file or directory"? Where do I need to put the image file so that he recognise it? I use linux
EDIT: I got it. Problem solved. I just gone into the Downloads folder where I downloaded the image file. Now I´m trying out my new LineageOS ond my One Plus 9 Pro

Android 12 Stock on Redmi Note 9 Pro (global version)

Hello there,
I'm new and I need your advice.
I own a Redmi Note 9 Pro (global version), and I became desatified with MIUI.
I can no longer tolerate ads on a phone I paid for, dual unnremovable apps eating up space, and the dark theme not working in many apps.
So here's my question,
would installing Android 12 (stock version) fix all the issues I had before? Will everything work correctly, i.e. the camera, GPS, NFC, and the other basic utilities?
Should I worry about battery life?
Has anyone done this before?
Thanks for your time

I am not clear what you mean about "Android 12(stock version)" is that Stock MIUI Android 12 or some other non MIUI custom Android 12 ROM.
Anyway, for me the biggest problems with non MIUI (ie custom) ROMs are - no VOLTE, no VoWiFi and inferior non MIUI camera apps. With stock MIUI ROMs you can use debloat tools to stop ads and remove system apps.
By stock android I mean the native android experience, without any skinning (= no custom ROMs). You can read more about it here. The one you find in Nokia and Google devices.
