Hey guys,
I've had this phone for a while; bootloader unlock/rooted a few months ago without any issues. I'm looking to sell the phone, and wanted to restore everything back to stock:
So I ODIN'd to stock CPF3. I noticed that the phone was suspiciously laggy, and found out that it's caused by spyware left behind by KingRoot, and is fixable by clearing the EFS folder from root.
So I went back to BPA1, unlcocked BL/rooted, and deleted everything from the efs folder. After reboot, phone was running good as new without any hitches.
The issue arised when I tried to ODIN flash the CPF3 full firmware provided by hsbadr. ODIN would go fine, but when the phone would reboot into the recovery, I'd get a dead Android bot saying "DRK is not installed. Please install DRK" or something along those lines. I ignored it, and the phone booted with no issues.
When I tried to factory reset from within the OS, however, I'd face the DRK and dm-verity verification failure when the phone would boot into the recovery, and it would'nt continue with the factory reset.
Now alarmed, I backed down to BPA1, and when the phone would boot back into recovery after a successful ODIN flash, the process would restart the phone when the progress bar would hit ~1/3 of completion (this happens in the recovery).
Rebooting into the recovery would show an orange "dm-verity failed," and when I try to OTA to CPD1 via external sd, It gives the "cannot update from external sd" error.
Googling the DRK keyword showed that it is KNOX being tripped that caused the issue. So far, neither Google nor the xda-forums have showed how to fix the issue on the 910-V.
I really want to restore the phone to as close-to-factory as possible, and removing this DRK issue would be a great help. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Edit #1: I have tried both this guide and this one to absolutely no avail. What am I missing? DM-Verity refuses to go away
EDIT #2: My brother also has a 910-v, and he hasn't cleared his EFS folder (stupid me for not making a back-up, eh?). Is it safe to clear mine again, and copy-paste his EFS folder into my phone? What are some adjustments I should make to avoid a corrupted IMEI? Any help is appreciated.
EDIT#3: I've tried this method, and it removes DM-verity on the first boot. It returns after factory reset. Currently trying a few different combos of flashing kernels/recoveries etc. to see if I can get it to stick. Permanently. Is it still OK to get by bro's EFS folder?
dm-verity and lagginess
HELP!!!!!!
It is annoying to see the dm-verity failed. The phone works fine but its just at the recovery boot. I am not sure what to do. I have a Galaxy S7 on Verizon. I rooted my phone using ODIN. I unrooted it already and it did not work. I did the Verizon recovery and it did not work either. However, I am not able to access to the recovery menu in my phone. I am rooted and the phone is working fine. It is just slow and it has some glitches on some apps like Snapchat... The video is so laggy it is not even funny. I am not sure if that has anything to do with the dm-verity but I need this 3 issues fixed ASAP. I will forever be grateful. I used my friends S7 that is not rooted and it was SO FAST! I am not sure if the root has anything to do with the lagginess but I doubt it because I have read here in XDA that root actually makes your phone faster.
1) Remove and fix the dm-verity
2) Fix laggy snapchat
3) Laggy phone overall.

You might want to go to the verizon S7 forums for that. These are the 910-V forums. Sorry for not being able to help.
Look for how to ODIN flash full stock recovery/firmware in the S7 forums. That is all I can say.

I have a vzw note 4 and I'm getting the dm verity verification failed when I try to a factory reset...been at this for a week so I'm pleading for help.
I posted on dr.cools attempt to fix this before I saw this post. sorry for double posting.
edit--I'm attempting the OP's number 3. will report back. Downloading BOG5 because that's what my version shows on the phonw
Question--Right now I'm stuck at BOG5. Do I need to do anything special to get to PA1 so I can start the root/unlock process again?
edit--just flashed firmware and modem and was able to do a factory reset...now back to rooting and bootloader unlock, hopefully.

I apologize in advance if any of this makes you roll your eyes at my stupidity.
Good Afternoon
I have an ATT samsung galaxy s3, Because of the glitches with 4.3 I was experiencing I decided to install custom software on my phone. So I looked up guides and got everything I needed. I did manage to get root access, and verified with super user. I also installed TWRP and CWM because each kept giving me errors when I tried to install CM 11 onto my phone. I tried CWM first, and when that didn't work I tried TWRP. It says there was no MD5 information found when I try to install any mod. how ever I have used the md5 file checker program and the MD5 matches up to what was listed in this one for example.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2518998
Download:
CM 11.0 Unofficial Beta 7 for d2tmo and d2att
MD5: ef93957db1e6704f23f9015231a82826
So the MD5 matches, yet when I try to install it keeps giving me errors. I also tried other versions of CM that I found on here via links. Right now my phone has no OS as another guide I read some where also said to wipe system data (sorry if that was stupid, I was just following a guideline) And even more stupid, no I don't have a backup because in my naivety and stupidity I didn't think I'd need one as it seemed so simple from all the guides and videos I'd seen.
Yesterday a friend of mine knowledgeable with tech stuff took one of the original stock Image ROMs I'd downloaded and using linux and some program he managed to do some crazy stuff I can't even describe on here. All I saw was a lot of typing of command lines and it got my phone working again, how ever it wasn't exactly the stock image I guess because the phone would not make or receive calls/texts.
Since my phone was powering on again and the android OS was loading I figured I could connect it to my computer and use KIES to download the official latest update so my phone would be back on the legit software. But trying to do that...well broke my phone again. So I'm at a loss now of what to do. Right now I can still get to download mode on my phone, but when I try to get into recovery mode I get an error that "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in KIES & try again." Which I've tried, and every time I try it gives me an error message. So I'm at a loss of what to do next.
So I'd like to get a working OS on my phone asap so I can get calls and texts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And being new I'm sorry if I broke any taboos or did not give some information that is typically given when describing a problem.

same error happened to me yesterday and spent the whole day figuring it out. get into download mode. boot up ODIN and reflash your preferred custom recovery. after that, i couldn't find anything else to restore my phone with so i installed 4.3 leaked from here. doesn't matter which one you select. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498233. place it on your sd card and head into recovery mode, wipe data/factory reset and cache. head to install zip from sd card and select the 4.3 zip you downloaded. reboot system and it should work. the at&t boot screen takes a while so be patient

First of all thank you for trying to help me, I hope you are having a good Thanks Giving.
I used the thread you linked to, and downloaded the version with out knox. I followed the instructions
transferred ROM and flashed kernel file to SD card
used odin to flash TWRP,
used twrp to flash rom and kernel file.
and it takes the file thankfully, there's only one issue. My phone can't make or receive calls/texts. Is yours able to?
I messed up and was playing with things That I had no business playing with and decided that I should do a restore of a backup (TWRP) I made as soon as I rooted the 4.3 OTA. well it has soft bricked my phone. it was a TWRP 4.3 Nandroid and has me messed up a little.
so far I tried My nandroid (no dice now a soft brick) cleared cache and dalvik, It was booting as far as the white at&t spinning thing,
Factory reset same on booting,
Tried a format of the internal sd this is where it gets sketchy it now goes as far as the second samsung screen(the one that says Samsung GALAXY S III)
4.3 OTA .zip (no dice TWRP wont flash it) same on the booting 2nd samsung boot screen
Tried the files in the link above and got a Hard brick
Used the debricking .IMG file and got TWRP and download mode back
Any suggestions?
Looks like I might need a JTAG/RIFF BOX for this one. If nothing else I spent many Hours of darkness discovering the darkness of android 4.3
If I get recovered from this and with a different rom like 4.1.2 I will be happy. the 4.3 OTA was very stable but I did miss wifi tether and the whole hardbrick thing was kind of a bummer. it would be real nice to have an ODIN file to fix this (AHEM samsung) or atleast perhaps stopped the progression of it to a hard brick.
New update
I got my phone booting up again however there is a catch. That unbrick.img file on my 16GB sd card is still required to boot the phone and I have no cell service what so ever. Tried to check apn settings because at home I sometimes get poor service and I run net10 so I was going to fix my apn and it says insert sim??? the sim is properly inserted???
Next Update
the bootloader I flashed apparently flashed to the external sd card? I flashed another one and it is booting from the internal sd. I had to flash a different modem the one in the bootloader/modem file I flashed from the link above didnt take? I got most everything sorted out, but im getting tired, it has been an all night adventure. its 08:23 est now
sorry for the delay in updating this I had to get some rest.

Go into Settings, About Phone, Status and check to see if your IMEI and Serial Number are present. If you only lost your IMEI there's a guide on how to inject it back (I'm not sure where the guide is). However if you've lost your serial number and don't have a Nandroid that can restore it I don't know what to do.

I updated my post above and showed my soultion. I simply had to flash a new modem and almost everything was kosher. I also had to flasah a different kernel but that was for preference not because things werent working.

I used that modem, flash it and see if your problems go away. I use Net10 so after I flashed the Modem I had to create an APN aswell, but that is nothing new for me.

It should be, I'm working right now so I don't have time to fine the guide on how to inject your IMEI. If I remember correctly it involves using QPST. If you have an old (or any) working Nandroid backup that should fix the problem.
FYI, make sure you don't use the guide for the international S3 as it has different hardware and folder structure/contents.
As for the APN, it should automatically fill itself in since it reads it off the SIM Card (I might be wrong).

So I guess the next question, do I try again to install kit kat on my phone.
I've already made bucks of my existing working phone haha....but I'd still like to have kitkat in place. I believe the issue of my phone not reading MD5 confirmations would still be in place, does anyone know how to remedy that situation?
At the same time I'm more than happy to leave my phone as is.

Pretty sure you can turn off MD5 checks in TWRP. Probably in CWM too. Sorry if this has been mentioned. Didn't have time to read the whole thread. Just skimmed through.
2nd, there is a major difference between an IMEI that reads 0 and an IMEI that shows unknown. If it shows an unknown simply reflash your ROM and modem and you will be good to go. Sometimes a reboot is all you need. If your IMEI is showing a 0 on the other hand its gone and will require that it be injected back in which is a messy situation that usually results in tour phone being stuck on EDGE.
3rd, as someone mentioned on the previous page, restoring a working nandroid will NOT reinject your IMEI if it shows up as 0. No amount of flashing anything will get it to come back. Not even stock. It needs to be reinjected manually.

do you know of a good stable kit kat like ROM I could use for the s3? And any speculation as to why the ROMs werent taking for me?
Alright, I'll lay out what happened. My end goal is to just have a rooted tab, but at this point, I'd be willing to just have it back to how it was. Preferably without losing everything on it.
-Looked around on how to root it, and found the following, and use the files it suggested.
- Seemed easy enough, and I had rooted/installed android on my old HP Touchpad, so I dl'd the files, and gave it a shot.
- Couldn't get CWM recovery on it, so I ran verify root and it said it wasn't rooted, even though I has SuperSU. It would even ask to grant apps permission, and I'd grant it.
- I opened SuperSU, and it'd say it needed to update the binaries, but would fail on normal, so I dl'd the newest zip, booted into recovery, and tried to load it like that, but 2 lines would come up red. I think they were just verifying signatures, so I ignored it and let it reboot.
- I opened SuperSU again, and it still said it needed the binaries updated, failed on normal attempt. I decided to try again from scratch, unrooting it and all. So, I went into the SuperSU settings and did it's thing, but it still had the version of SuperSU that initially was on it (it wouldn't let me past the "update binaries" prompt).
- I found that I needed to use Odin to flash a stock firmware back on it, and dl'd both version here.
- I tried the first one, and then it wouldn't get past the "Samsung" screen (the 2nd one with just the word Samsung, if it matters).
- I can still boot into Odin and Recovery, thankfully, so I tried the 2nd stock firmware. Same issue.
- Finally, I tried the rooting process again, hoping to get it to boot, same thing. So, I tried the 2nd stock firmware again, praying something good would happen, and still stuck on the Samsung screen.
I can still boot into Odin and recovery, but I have no idea where to go from here. I still want it rooted if possible, and I'd prefer not to lose all my games and such. I just found "[ROOT][RECOVERY] [ALL IN ONE] Cf-Autoroot-twrp-T800-T805-T-700-T705" thread here, but I didn't want to try it just yet.
It's a SM-T800. I had Lollipop on it. Don't know much else to add, but please help!
Thanks all.

Well... you said you just updated to lollipop, but in order to not stay stuck at splash screen, you have to factory reset. I saw that you don't want to lose your games and such so you probably only have one option. That option is to flash twrp and make a nandroid of your data. Simply boot into download mode, download the twrp .tar http://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxytabs105.html
And now go into Odin, untick autoreboot, now hit the pda/AP button and pick the twrp tar. Hit start and let it do its thing. Now after its done flashing, your gonna have to force reboot. Simply hold power+volume up and down+home button all at the same time. Wait a bit and when the screen turns black, quickly press power+volume up+ home buttons all at the same time and it should boot into twrp.
Now in twrp, hit backup and hit backup data. Hopefully that should save your apps installed. Now after its done, go into wipe and silde factory reset. It should remove installed apps from Google play store and it won't remove pictures and such. It just removes the apps you installed. Then now reboot and wait....
Hopefully this helped
-DUHA
As said you will have to factory reset, this will wipe data and cache.
You can use the link you posted above to install TWRP and root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/development/root-cf-autoroot-twrp-t800-t3079488
Lollipop changes the data partition so even if you back it up and then restore it with twrp In kitkat it likely won't boot afterwards.
All you can do is wipe it and take the hit.
Alright, I have TWRP running. The size of my "data" is just over 16 gig, and my space on the sdcard is 14.9 gig, so I've been trying to delete data to knock it down. I still have 1.3 gig to go. Everything I'm deleting, in the data folder, is barely making an impact.
I see what you're saying that I probably won't be able to restore it and have it work, but I still will try. I can always factory reset it again later. Once I wipe it, though, and update back to lollipop, couldn't I restore that data backup?
I gotta take a break and knock out some real work, lol, then I'll continue, and update here. If nothing else, maybe it'll help some other poor soul like me in the future!
Once I have it booting all the way again, do I just use TWRP to install SuperSU and it's rooted? Thanks again. I appreciate it!
Not sure what youre trying to do here. Just wipe the data partition with twrp,
Sent from my SM-T805 using XDA Free mobile app
Ashyx, I was just trying to save my game data, while ending up with a rooted tab. And you were right, of course! I tried to restore the back up to no avail, haha....well, I wiped it again, and it booted up just fine, and it is rooted to boot. I can't believe it was that easy with TWRP to root it.
I'm betting this isn't going to work out, but is there anyway to extract my game data from that backup I made, and transfer just that back to my tablet? If it is possible, it'll probably be beyond my ability, I bet, but I'm just curious.
One other question. With TWRP, can I get Lollipop back on it? Or do I need something else on it first?
Now, it's off to figure out how to get my Impulse Controller to work with it so I can play my games with it!
Thanks for helping me out, regardless. I truly thought I had bricked my $600 tablet. My wife would've killed me for wasting that much money, lol!
There is an app called nandroid manager that will allow you to extract data from nandroids, you could extract your game data with that.
The better way would be to make a system and data backup of your current system, reflash lollipop then restore your lollipop data backup. Then back up your game data with titanium backup.
Restore your kitkat backup then restore your game data with tb.
I have a T-mobile LG G4 and I'm in the US. I did my research, watched videos, and read several threads about rooting... I thought I had it down. I followed the instructions in This thread exactly, to the best of my knowledge. Unfortunately, after my phone rebooted following step 10 (running the root script), it keeps saying "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped working" over and over.
I'm downloading the kdz files to return my phone to stock (hopefully--since I screwed up somehow, following the root instructions). But has anyone had this happen? Know what's causing it? Or how I can fix it besides a factory reset?
UPDATE: Ok, so I got freaked out reading about how returning to an earlier version of stock could brick your phone, so I decided to bite the bullet and do a hard factory reset. When I did, it asked if I wanted to restore from an earlier backup. I thought, "hey, no way it backed up after I just tried to root it, this backup ought to be safe!" and gave it a whirl. Well, when it finished restoring, root checker says I've successfully rooted! What the hell?! So, um... yay?
I have this exact same problem.
I have a tmobile variant and I had root previous(don't remember method I used). I installed the marshmallow rom, and thought it was too sluggish so I restored my device. But then my phone was wack...so I had to do a complete restore using flash tool. After that my phone worked fine, but I had no root. I attempted to use this new program with adb cmd. It worked but now my phone is sluggish the ui crashes, the camera doesn't work, and back buttons. I restored again... then rooted again.... same thing....so I restored AGAIN. I hope anyone can help.
Buuuuump
Bump Bump Bump... sadly this is the only known root I know of soooo #NoRoot4Meh :/
happen to me too..
just go to setting (use the notification shortcut), search for Home in apps (all apps) and then clear data and cache.
helped me to solved this problem, you will need to re-align your icons and apps on the launcher.
Like many other sprint users, I experienced serious problems with 5.1.1. This resulted in battery pulls and even a downloading boot. I starting looking into a fix. After flashing about every ROM for sprint N910P on this website, I either result in bootloop or the same problems persist. The problems are as follows:
-Can't boot, so I have to wait ~5 minutes to try again
-Boots straight to downloading, mmc read fail
-Boots fine
-Crashes to black screen around 80-90% battery (back to problem 1)
I cannot figure how to use odin anymore because it fails on nearly every rom I attempt. My reactivation lock is OFF.
I'll try to provide as much detail as I can, but I'm at my wits end with this phone.
Thanks!
If you can Odin OK1 stock tar, there is another root alternative: root stock with Chainfire Auto Root. CFAR has been updated for Android 5.1.1 Note 4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55865442&postcount=3
Custom ROMs will take longer than 5 minutes to boot initially after flash. TWRP has been known to fail to flash or not properly flash after trying repeatedly to flash wrong tar with Odin or flash with reactivation locked. Which, if any, apply to you? I hope it's not hardware failure...

Chainfire was going to be my next option. I think the first time I attempted using chainfire through odin, it ended in a bootloop. I haven't tried the update version though. I'll give that a shot.
Is there any way to fix this problem with TWRP (delete it and reflash)?
I'm starting to think its a hardware failure, which would suck because knox is tripped and warranty expired a few days ago anyway I believe.
I downloaded the updated CFAR last night to verify it was updated. It's bundled with Odin 3.10.6 Use the defaults with that for stock OK1 tar.
You should know that CFAR is primarily for rooted stock.
If you want a custom ROM, you may have to use Philz CWM touch recovery for Note 4. TWRP just gets inoperative for some time for some users when tars fail in repeated attempts. Philz' seems to flash where TWRP doesn't if that's the case.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is most likely a hardware problem. I've had two Note 4's do exactly this. Flashed the stock rom on both with Odin, problems still persisted. It would just get random restarts and sometimes boot into "panic mode", whatever that is. The quality control on these phones is terrible. I baby them and never rooted any of them, yet two of them messed up like that, and all 3 of course have GPS issues. If it worked like it's supposed to it would be amazing, my friend has had one since my first Note with 0 issues, super jealous.
I hope its ok for me to post this here i couldnt find any threads on this issue and i didnt want to make new one just for this one problem so i figure i post it here since the post doesnt really point out to nothing specific and its on note 4 thread so i know ill get faster response than if i posted it in help thread ,but if i'm in wrong please feel free to delete this post at once . With that out of the way heres my issue and i hope theres an easy fix for it i was on latest pl1 build of 6.0.1 stock rooted i got tired of playing pokemon so i decided i want my themed look back so i restored my backup of 5.1.1 cog5 build ,everything works fine but my wifi ,its grayed out and when i try to turn it on it stays in "turning on " possition but it never does come on it eventualy goes back to " to see the list of networks turn on the wifi" .Now my question is is there any way to fix this wifi without flashing srock 5.1.1 i know there used to be fix for it back when i was on note 3 but this was yeaaaaars ago and i dont have that file any more thanks a million.

To fix the WiFi and camera focus, get the bootloader for OG5 from OP in this thread and flash it in Odin.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=66352412
The ones labeled firmware are bootloaders. You don't have to flash the whole OG5 stock tar but you still could. Just make sure the flash restores that bootloader and you should be set.
Likewise, you could still restore a MM backup and restore its bootloader.
I think you should backup your keepsakes in internal memory and wipe internal memory before restoring a backup that crosses Android versions. With backups on extSdCard, you could wipe everything but that but I'd think you could factory reset, wipe internal memory plus the Android folder on extSdCard and have a good transition with the bootloader flash. Otherwise, a factory reset would be the minimum step but may leave some residual information you may not need cluttering your memory along with what you want to keep. Seems I recall some having issues coming back to lollipop from MM without wiping internal memory?
Just curious, do you recall what you wiped going back to lollipop?

Gotcha. Just an old question in the back of my mind from early days of MM. I researched the TWRP thread, the developers recommended a factory reset.
If you've ever noticed internal memory available seemingly smaller than usual, it could be the extraneous folders.
Thanks.

Hello Everyone,
I've been up literally all night (I know, that old line) trying to fix what happened. I bought this phone last year. It was unlocked and rooted. I never updated because it was never giving me issues. But the lagging and battery has finally got to me. So I decided to upgrade to this new rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423).
It looked clean and minimal bloat, just the way I like it. However, I didn't get past updating the Bootloader. As soon as I did in Odin it went into a bootloop. Try as I might I couldn't get into recovery. Luckily I can still get into download mode. So I read up and found that I should flash the original firmware. Unfortunately it failed because I tried to upload an older version. Is there anyway I can flash this rom via odin? Sorry for the noobish questions here but it's past 8am and I've just about given up. If I see recovery is not seandroid enforcing or rev check fail s6 device 3 binary 2 I'm going to lose my mind lol. I did have TWRP installed if that makes a difference. Just can't access it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys
P.S. I know I used buy instead of buy but can't fix it. It was really early in the morning haha
Ok I managed to download the stock MM version for my phone. I still have bootloop issues but I'm in recovery mode at least. However not TWRP though, if I try downloading a custom recovery it says the dreaded "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" also it says Device does not have DRK. Any guesses here?
Well, I've just about given up. I've searched extensively and it appears that the fix is to download a different kernel. However, the G925T has no support yet for any custom MM kernels. I made a backup of my phone via TWRP before this whole mess but the problem is I can't get to it. And to be honest I'm not entirely sure if it's still there. Here are the steps I have taken thus far.
1. Downloaded MM Bootloader: this was the start of my issues. Started bootloop, couldn't get into recovery.
2: Attempted to download original LP firmware: Odin denied it, there was another version I download from zidroid called "downgradeable". Obviously did nothing because I was still running MM bootloader and was effectively the same thing.
3. Downloaded stock MM firmware: Finally was able to boot into recovery but it was useless as it was the stock one. Also wouldn't boot up due to "Device does not have DRK" and boots straight into download mode. Tried to download recovery but none of them worked. Kicked me back to "Recovery not Seandroid enforcing".
So this is where I'm at, I just want to get back to my old device I honestly would rather have a clunky phone than one that doesn't work at all. Is it possible to downgrade back to LP and get back into TWRP and flash my backup? Do I still have root after taking all those steps? Any help would be greatly appreciated because this has officially ruined my weekend?
I guess I'm talking to myself here but if anyone ever encounters this issue at least it will be documented if I ever do fix it.
I managed to get into TWRP. Although arter doesn't have a kernel that supports our system yet. The twrp recovery he has does, ours is compatible with the fi variant. Again that's only the recovery no the kernel.
So I was at a cross roads, do I restore my backup or do I continue with the download. Unfortunately none of those options worked. When restoring the backup I get stuck on the samsung page with "kernel not enforcing" or whatever. Do be fair, before I did this with my device it had already said that. So I gave it some time, but alas no luck. And the same issue with the when I tried to continue the download. I'm a little lost as to how to continue now. I just want my device back.
try dd the mm firmware

Not sure what state your phone is in. To begin with, the not Seandroid message with recovery is normal, if you are on marshamallo. If you are on LP then you get the same with the Kernel message when it boots up. BOTH are normal depending on which Firmware you are on. But that said you shouldn't be trying to downgrade, if that's even possible. Have you tried smartswitch and the emergency software restore function. It will wipe out everything on your phone but at least will boot up with the latest MM. Then simply Odin the arter TWRP and then install XTRESTOL which I am using NO PROBLEMS on my TMobile 925T variant. NOT sure about the DRK root key problem. But when you install stock MM with smartswitch you should have also gone into settings and enable developer settings to make sure OEM unlock was enabled before doing anything else.
Lastly, the Arterkernel will actually work fine as far as booting up. The ONLY issue is call audio which we all are waiting for a patch, or a kernel that supports everything. But, I have TWRP installed that arter kernel, and the phone boots up just fine. You just do NOT have call audio. My suggestion at this point is smartswitch. Just know your serial number so that when asked you can plug that in to the menus smartswitch goes thru before wiping and restoring current MM latest and greatest.

Thanks for the reply, I don't have the box for the phone and couldn't boot it up so that was a no go. But luckily for me I decided to give that rom one more go. I flashed bootloader and modem again, then flashed TWRP, and finally installed the rom. And boom! It worked, and it's better and faster than ever. I'm not sure what all that other mess was but I am going to say I have everything I need at the moment and won't be flashing anything anytime soon. I've learned a great deal through this process though. Thanks for everyone's help.
