[Q] EFS lost after installing Phoenix ROM...Help!

Hi all
I am new to Samsung galaxy note 2( But not to custom ROMS) ... Wanted to install Phoenix ROM but didnt release there would be a thing called EFS backup. I think I screwed up my Note 2 now. Installed a european version of Samsung rom,but my sim is still not being identified . I am getting a different IMEI number than the one mentioned below the battery. Is there a way to fix this? If I Install the latest Indian ROM would that resolve the issue? Please let me know! I need this phone like hell!

Touchscreen won't work after installing CM11 from wulsic

i own a samsung galaxy fame duos (GT-S6812). I installed the cm11 rom...till then the screen was working but after a restart the phone screen became unresponsive. i tried wiping data/cache/dalvik cache many times but it didn't work too then i installed the custom rom using odin....but it didn't help me....i then installed cm12.1 (was just hoping that the screen may respond) but it didn't work too.... meanwhile i also installed twrp but the touch screen wasn't responding there too...during all this i raised my custom bin counter to 9 counts.....now i am in a situation where i can't use the phone coz the touchscreen doesn't work nor the list and back button (only power, volume and home buttons work) and i raised my custom bin count to 9 so i can't take my phone to service center and can't reset the custom count without the touchscreen working.........please help anyone:crying::crying:
Same happened with me after flashing cyanogenmod 12.1 and I gave my mobile at Samsung service center and they charged Rs. 2500
Touchscreen wont work
Hi,
I had the same kind of problem also. But it was when I was compiling the kernel for the Galaxy Fame Lite (GT-6790N).
I used the same source code as is in Wulsic's Fame software, which is also used by Karthick to compile his Hyper
Kernel. In both cases the problem arises from the header file used to compile the drivers/input/touchscreen/imagis
files. There are several header files that are used to update the touchscreen driver firmware for different touchscreens.
The firmware file for the Fame Lite is not good and when the kernel is loaded the firmware is updated and causes
the touchscreen to no longer function. When reloading the Samsung software the firmware is not updated again
and stays wrong. To correct this I recompiled the kernel using the firmware file that I downloaded from the original
Samsung source code for my device and forced the firmware update (otherwise it checks for which version, and
the wrong frimware gives a more recent version number). I do not thing either Karthick or Wulsic are aware of this
bug /issue, but it does mean requiring to recompile the kernel. Alternatively you can try and replace the Wulsic ROM
kernel with the original stock kernel from Samsung for your device, and see if the firmware can be corrected.

i can't do that coz my custom bin counter is 9 counts....it must be 0 for the service center to repair it
You should visit Samsung service center they may repair ur mobile with some charges
You can try out to connect a mouse or a keyboard with a USB-OTG cable. Let's hope that Galaxy Fame supports this. Then do the touchscreen actions you need.

I don't have enough information about the difference but my device was on SPR and now it changed to XAS.
No thing is different except that Yellow sprint logo changed to Samsung logo and some csc features changed.
My device still working.
I think maybe if any subscriber of sprint network could notice a little more changes.
Since I am not a Sprint subscriber so I don't notice any difference.

They are they same except for csc settings.
SPR will give you sprint branding and csc.
XAS will give you regular samsung branding.
If your using your phone global or gsm like me, I prefer XAS.
I notice most apps that unlock your sim will make it XAS to. So I believe xas sets csc to work better unlocked but don't quote me.
Did it remove that annoying hands free activation???
Which should world or GSM user choose;Sprint or XAF Samsung Note 4 firmware versions?
Hi, am a world/ GSM Note for user. My firmware keeps requesting for update just 60 seconds after prior update. My present software is SPR. My phone heavily discharge and i feel as incriminating the present firmware version and its regular demand for firmware update.
Someone, proposed i download and flash up my phone with latest firmware. At SamMobile, there are options for Sprint and XAF versions of firmware. Please anyone with an advice on selection choice and maybe a little comment.

Still there on the XAS version.
And for the boot sound it has the Note 3/ S4 version instead of the normal S5/Note 4 one.

Nougat

Can someone point me to the right direction for a working Nougat ROM for the T-Mobile S6 egde+. I'm pretty sure I tried all the ROMs for the Samsung S6 edge+ and it either doesn't boot or it boots but no sim card issue.
I'm currently on a Note 5 cm ROM
They don't exist at this point due to an official kernal for our model not being available. In other words we may have to wait for an official samsung release before devs can support our variant.
Thank you for the response. I figure that is the issue but I just didn't want accept it lol. What got me to actually post (which I never do post anything) is the fact that i was able to flash a nougat ROM and had it working but i was able to receive text but just couldnt send a text. Didn't check to see if I can make calls due to being over it.
If you interested in what ROM I use let me know, I can see if I can remember which one I did (frequent herb smoker so my memory isn't so well lol)

Changing imei number Android p

I have a app that uses imei number to confirm is registered , i used to just edit the apk to fix the imei number but in later builds they added code to stop it from working
so now i use a asus phone and xposed imei changer , but i want to use my google pixel xl now but as theres no xposed yet for android p im not sure what i cant do
i am rooted with magisk, but cant find madgisk modules to change the imei number
what can i do ?
Is modifying the IMEI allowed in these forums?
Anyway, this is not something Magisk can do by itself, you'd need something like Xposed.
Don't hold your breath for Xposed to come to Pie. If it ever does come to Pie, it won't be for a very long while. Xposed for Oreo is still pretty new, and isn't it still in beta?
You should probably go back to Oreo if this is something you need. Running brand new OS versions usually means that you have to live without some mods for a while.
