invalid argument ( Fire Phone )
hello, help me please ...i'm same Problem
I used my phone normally and then everything from a cpip to planted, and then I do the same manipulation as you on my Smartphone Amazon but nothing without following it shows me on the recovery '' E: Failed to mount / cache (Invalid argument)''
what does it mean according to your expertise please?
U see AMAZON LOGO OR FIRE LOGO when u press the power button?
If u see amazon logo, try to sideload original firmware, u have some tutorials in Amazon Fire Phone section, search on google "sideload amazon fire phone firmware" if will not work, the phone is DEAD
was his problem Dear Friend, I try with the Official Firmware 4.6.6.1 But it has still not given its many times written to me (Invalid argument), But in other forum for other android phone that have even worry they have been able to settle but for my Fire Phone I do not find it until, I'm on there is a solution because the Phone is not Hardbricke but rather Softbrick so you just have to find the best order in Linux To repair this softbrick ???
But, until I have always searched the net, but without finding a better solution except I have seen on this forum we are only two who have this problem of (invalid argument)
helped me please, there are no those who are strong in LINUX Here?:crying::crying::crying:

Ok people so I think I F***** up royaly. I had my KF for months now and swaps plenty of roms on i butthe other night I was flashing a rom and accidently erased everything off the KF. Now it won't boot flashed rom. It says installaton success but follows with e: cannot load or something in that effect. I finally got my computer to recognize KF and mount but it won't boot custom rom. it'll either stay stuck on the triangle screen, back to TWRP or boot but screen stays black. Idk what else to do . I tried dozens of things and I feel that my head is going to explode. Please someone help.
Btw when using KFU I get
ABD status offline
Boot Mode 0x5003
Anyone?

Did you remember to wipe system and factory reset before flashing the ROM?
yea I did. after it's done installing it says
E: failed to mount / cache(Invalid argument)
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: failed to mount /cache Invalid argument)
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: cannot load volume /misc!
E: failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
what am I doing wrong?
I finally got it to boot but now it's stuck on the boot animation..
Scratch that, I finally got it to work. Got it to normal boot. kept freezing on me but instead of holding the power button, i rebooted thru twrp. Did the latest update thru KFU , rebooted and did sustem wipe and factory reset, reinstalled and currently running Cyanogen Mod 9 Thanks for the help soupmagnet
In recovery, enter the following commands and post the results
Code:
adb shell
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0
print
A friend asked me to help unbricking his Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi, 2013 version) ("flo") (it's stuck on Google white logo screen that shows after boot-up), as I am the only person he knows who have some custom ROM installing/etc. experience, but I am hardly an expert. I tried my best, but after few hours I am stumped.
I found the guides at XDA and elsewhere, and they all suggest I need to start by unlocking his bootloader. I tried two (similar at core) methods: first, using the command prompt fastboot.exe from the ADK, and second, using the Nexus Rooting Toolkit. The device is detected through fastboot devices command, but after running fastboot oem unlock, fastboot terminal is stuck at (bootloader) erasing userdata... for many minutes (whereas the action should take no more than few seconds). NRT is also stuck; while the device is frozen on the confirmation of unlocking screen. I read somewhere that some USB ports are problematic (3.0?), so whereas I am not sure how to check (in Win 7) which USB ports I have, I tried 5-6 on 2 computers (laptops) I have at home; both provide exactly the same result. I may try a 3rd (work) computer tomorrow, but I wonder if the device is beyond help?
Now, I was able to enter the Stock Recovery mode, too, and it starts with several errors (yellow script at the bottom). I wonder if it means that the internal SD card is gone, or such?
E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
same fir last_log and last_install
E:failed closing /dev/block... (I/O error)
Factory reset from stock recovery gives
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
E:failed to mount /cache... and a bunch of can't mount/open followed by
Data wipe complete.
Then more failures to mount/open ending with the I/O error and a final failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument).
Any suggestions what can be tried, if anything, would be appreciated. Just please, if someone links me to a guide to unbricking that starts with "your device has to be unlocked", for pity's sake, remember I cannot unlock this damn contraption, so I need either a solution that bypasses unlocking, or suggestions on how to unlock this given my failure to do so on two computers.
A Friend gave me his galaxy s3 since he recently upgraded to a note 4, so naturally i wanted to wipe everything on it and i figured the fastest way would be me doing a factory rest. . so the phone does its thing then reboots into recovery with the image of the android guy on his back with a red cation thingy above him.
i get the following messages below the blue option menu thing that you scroll with using the volume rocker. :
E: failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
cant mount '/data' (invalid argument)
E: failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
and others like it all saying it cannot mount /data
i tired using kies to have an emergency firmware update but ask me for a code.
would be installing a custom recovery and downloading a custom rom fix this or not ?
please help
Hi there !
I have an Ascend Mate(M1-U06) here which stopps booting, first it shows the Huawei logo, then a white android logo - thats all.
When i enter recovery mode it works, the phone shows me this line:
""""
E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
ensure_path_mounted Failed
E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
""""
Flashing or wiping in this menu fails.
Meanwhile I'm familiar with adb/fastboot.
Drivers are installed(Win10), phone is recognised, bootloader is unlocked.
I tried flashing several images, I tried flashing TWRP, everything worked well but nothing changed.
After flashing TWRP 2.6.3.3 I enter recovery mode and there is still stock recovery mode(3e).
What am I doing wrong, did i forget something ?
Can i use every TWRP Version for the mate ?
Tried to flash stock rom without success.
any ideas
thanks in advance

So, I've got a Galaxy Tab S 10" (SM-T800X), its the retail demo version and I've been trying to remove the retail demo firmware, I can't factory reset the device because the option is greyed out. So far I've had no luck, I've tried using Odin to install a stock ROM but that doesn't do anything. I've tried going through recovery mode to wipe the device and it says that MDM doesn't allow factory reset. Tried running Odin a few times in case it just wasn't working the first time. I've now encountered a new problem where its stuck on the Samsung logo when I try to turn it on, even after running it through Odin, and whenever I boot it into recovery mode I get the message
E:failed to mount /data (Invalid argument)
can't mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
E:failed to mount /data (Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /data/log/recovery_lot.txt
E:failed to mount /data (Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /data/log/emmc_checksum_log.txt
I'm at a loss as to what I should do here, I don't use android and have never rooted a device so I've just been reading what I've found on the internet to attempt to solve it.
Anyone got any ideas what I should do now?

You need to install TWRP. Factory reset within TWRP, reboot to Download mode then install the stock firmware with odin.
