I've recently got the JB update so I installed it, or atleast tried. Because when I try to turn on my phone again it gets stuck on the HTC logo (White screen).
I think somehow my battery went down during the installation and now I can't access my phone anymore.
It's a clean phone, no costum ROM and I haven't rooted it in any way.
Is there a way to fix my problem? (Preferably withour rooting it.)
I tried holding the power and volume down buttons and then selecting recovery but that doesn't work as I just end up getting stuck on the black screen with the Red triangle.

Try going into HBOOT
Hold down Power button & volume down buttons together when the phone is switched off. This will take you into HBOOT.
Select Recovery using the volume down button and press power to select it.
Hopefully it is able to recover and re-flash the firmware.

That is exactly what I did, but I ended up on the black screen with the triangle (As stated in my first post).

Doh missed that bit Sorry to be of little help. Hopefully someone else can proffer a solution.
if it's an unrooted phone, HTC have been very good at fixing phones bricked during OTA in my experience (2 day turnaround)
When you see the phone with the red triangle before you want to enter the recovery press vol - and the power button.....or at least the vol - button. Can't recreate it as i am on a custom recovery. You will bypass the red triangle and will enter the recovery. Maybe a cache wipe wil do, or a factory reset !

I've tried the factory reset be just like the normal boot it gets stuck on the HTC logo.
Clearing the cache might work but doesn't your phone needs to be rooted for that?

I cant recall if wiping cache is an option in the stock recovery !?
One can erase cache using 'fastboot erase cache' after getting the phone to restart in fastboot mode. See here and go to the 'Try this first' section. Hope this helps.

Sounds like hboot version problem with JB upgrade, what version of HOX you have? what version of hboot? , maybe we can unlock your phone and recover the system with custom rom and then rollback to stock rom.

Hi
There's this Galaxy Note II (N7100) which the owner tried wrong patterns a lot and now the phone is locked and we can't use his Gmail account to unlock it. So I tried to get into Recovery Mode and do a hard reset. SO I turn off the phone hold 'Vol Down+Home+power' the phone turns on shows the samsung galaxy note 2 logo and after one or two seconds, instead of going into recovery mode that logo screen starts flickering (scrambling) and then nothing happens, the screen is black although I'm not sure if it's turned off. So now how can I hard reset? Thanks in advance

hey,try this "you will first have to turn off your device. Once it’s turned off, press volume up + power button + home button simultaneously and keep them pressed until you see the recovery mode. Once you’re there, get your hands off the buttons"

Thanks for the reply man. Well, that's what I've been trying for a long time. I tried it on my Galaxy S III and it worked instantly. But on this one it doesn't work no matter how long I keep the buttons down(I held it for 20 secs or so).

Go into download mode instead. Once there flash a custom kernel via ODIN and then reboot into recovery.

boot into download mode and flash philz recovery via odin . uninstall orevious drivers and fresh install samsung drivers and make sure usb debugging is enabled.
a detailed guide can be found here this will solve your problem of recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31801060&postcount=2
Note :
normally, phone should auto-reboot into recovery.
If it reboots into android and your recovery remains stock, repeat above steps and untick "autoreboot" in odin. Once flash is done, keep pressing power button until it reboots (normally will go to recovery)
when in recovery, if you choose option "reboot system now" and you get "yes - disable flash recovery", select that option to avoid stock recovery overwriting cwm

I understand this is a late post, but I hope you can help me out on this one. I have a different smartphone. I have successfully rooted my Galaxy Note GT-N7000, using Method 2 outlined in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
After trying to uninstall a Live Wallpaper using Titanium, my phone is experiencing a similar case as OP. I'm stuck at Samsung Galaxy Note GT N7000 logo.
MY QUESTION IS: will your recommendation work for me also? I am able to boot into download mode. I am confused though where to find "Philz Recovery" ??? Will it be also found where I downloaded the kernel when I rooted my phone?
I downloaded this file for rooting:
PhilZ-cwm6-JPLSB-UAE-5.11.2-signed.zip
over at:
http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=23431#files
Is the Philz Recovery for use in Odin this one?
PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT9-ORA-5.11.2.tar.md5
I hope you can point me out to the right direction. I'm am quite new with rooting. And trying to save my once buttery smooth Galaxy Note I, GT-N7000 pre Jelly Bean.
Thanks,
Bryan
soft brick??? clueless
I think my lenovo a6000 plus has been softbricked as it doesn't get pass the logo screen. also recovery mode is not opening ( tried every combination). Help me with this. This phone has really checked up my nerves. the reason for flashing this phone as it had a problem of automatically downloading apps without consent, and video apps popping out in the middle of night(time service, monkey test apps), so the only best solution i found was to flash it( tried every other possibility- factory reset, password change...etc everything). Now it has died on me, can't get pass the logo screen. Also connecting the phone to pc gives me multiple drive partitions. Please help.

I have a soft bricked (hopefully) Galaxy Note II that scrambles at the startup logo screen and goes blank. I can hear the startup sound and all on startup but nothing on the screen. I have been at it the whole night trying to get it into recovery mode so I could wipe it clean and reinstall the firmware. Tried CWM, TWRP, Philz Recovery (all using Odin) but nothing can get the phone to startup in recovery mode.
I have reinstalled the firmware as well after rooting it with CF Autoroot (again using Odin). I am sure that I am using the correct versions for this model but I have reached nowhere so far.
Now, I have two constraints:
1. The USB debugging mode is probably not enabled (the phone belongs to an uncle of mine).
2. I cannot do anything or change settings on the phone as the screen is black.
Can someone please help me out with this and let me know how to go about fixing it?
Try this: download the stock ROM from sammobile.com, open Odin, uncheck everything except f.reset time. Flash the ROM. When you see the word reset in the status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace the battery, boot into recovery, factory wipe, and reboot.
Hi, recently I just got a weird thing on my phone(N7100)
After reset to factory, I tried to get into Philz15 recovery, I turned off the phone, then hold volume up+home+power, it is supposed to boot into philz recovery but where I got into is downloading...page with a green adroid robot in the middle and two lines of words below it, "Downloading... Do not turn off the target!!" I know you can get into download page by holding volume down+home+power, but this page is a little bit different from that one, there is no small words at top left conner.
I don't know why and how I can get into recovery? Dose factory reset wipe the recovery function? Do I need to re-install Phillz15 again through odin?
Thanks

This might seem like the average bootloop to you but I've been through every thread on here about it and all the solutions have no effect: I can boot into Download mode or recovery (TWRP) but anything I do there has no effect... I've got two custom roms (CM, custom CM) and both result in the bootloop. I've tried formatting system, caches, data etc and flashing stock rom using ODIN but it all comes back to the phone being stuck on the "Galaxy Note II GT-N7105" screen and when I power it off, it switches back on and gets stuck on the screen again!
Can you help, please?

BUMP - This might be against the rules but I desperately need this phone and the KNOX warranty void flag has been triggered so that is out of the question. I've tried flashing "N7105XXUENC3" and it succeeded but just kept restarting and back to square one. It's a N7105 with H3G (Three) UK if that helps.

Try one thing go into download mode without pressing power button , only press home and volume down and see if it still goes into download mode.If yes then your power button is faulty, either it's pressed continuously so you'd need to loosen it out or worse power button needs to be replaced.

Hey, I've checked and it's not the power button.. The phone does go into "recharge mode" with the battery percentage indicator and download mode but other than that it is just rebooting.
Hi, i was reading what you posted on how to fix it but my phone is still stuck on the logo. it randomly turned off and wont turn back on since. the only thing it shows is the logo and if it does disapear its for a split second where it turns pitch black and then comes back to the logo. Please help!
Will the phone stay on in download mode?
I was trying to use twrp to make a backup before I updated to lollipop but when it rebooted it got stuck in a loop. I tried going into download mode but it just says "Downloading.... Do not turn off target!!"

I pulled the battery and it still just says "downloading.. do not turn off target" and won't go any further
But the strange thing for the boot loop in the top left corner it says "recovery booting" in blue and then its the android guy for a split second and then it reboots.
Pull the battery, then press volume down + home and power and see if you can get into download mode. Then press volume up and Odin stock tar.

This is what you are supposed to see. Hook your phone up to tour computer, load the stock tar in the PDA slot, make sure you see com# ie. com6 and then hit start. It will flash the ROM and reboot your phone.

Pull the battery, insert and factory reset again. Pull battery again and Odin stock tar; pick one of the tars in this thread. The steps and tools needed to start are clear.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56853325
Note: the thread was just updated for lollipop; the support posts and help posts are related to the KitKat tars. Original is last of the three. OB7 I'd most likely what you're after unless looking for Xposed framework compatibility which is KitKat only, for now.
