So, as has been mention in this forums and others, OOS stock doesn't have notification badges for missed calls/SMS/Whatsapp etc
so i installed Nova launcher prime + teslaunread and it works pretty well except for missed calls, for some reason, it won't show a notification badge under the phone icon.
i'm wondering if having installed the google phone app might be causing the malfunction....

anyone else using nova+teslaunread?

I am using WidgetLocker along with Go SMS Pro. I really like the popup feature, but I dont want it to popup when I am on my Lockscreen in WidgetLocker.
I causes me to miss out on some sms because when WidgetLocker locks my screen again after the popup GO SMS think it is because I have read the sms, and then it removes all notifications of ever receiving a new sms.
When using stock lockscreen the popup is visible after unlocking my screen, but not i WidgetLocker. Any solution to get this working? It works find with Handcent, so I guess this has something to do with GO

Go into WidgetLocker settings, and then Popups. Click the box that says "Hide SMS Popups" and see how that works. If it doesn't work, you might have to figure out the package name of the GO SMS alert and do "Hide other".
Hide sms popup doesn't work, go sms seems to override it.
Under "hide others" I got rid of the popup, but it also removes all kinds of notifications from GO SMS. I used com.jb.gosms
This is a bug in GoSMS. GoSMS is prematurely dismissing the notification when their activity is paused, even if the activity is paused by the system like during an incoming phone call or when WidgetLocker takes over. The Android API provides onUserLeaveHint specifically for an activity to use to know if it should dismiss the notification or not, however GoSMS does not use this.
I've contacted them multiple times about this issue and received no response.
A user has reported a work around, though it's suboptimal:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13407339&postcount=1195
The work around with gosms/WL to make the led blink on new messages is to always have an unread text. Use whatever means you want, sent yourself a text; I use something simple, "DO NOT ERASE". Upon receipt, do not open, or if you have popups enabled, press 'to do', which leaves it marked unread. Now, for any new texts received, the led will always blink.

how about just putting the gosms widget on the widgetlocker lock screen? That way the last message received will always be there.
I am not interested in having a sms widget on my lock screen.
Regarding the "fix", my phone dont have a notification Led. It this wont be sorted out soon I guess I have to look for a different SMS app, even though I think GO SMS is the best one (except from this bug).
Have you tried Noled? I haven't tried it with GoSMS as I use Handcent but I don't think Go will overide it's notification once activated.
Rather than start a new thread, thought I'd ask if anyone else was able to hear their notification sound when receiving a message as I haven't

I'd say give his suggestion a try anyway. Even though the phone doesn't have a physical LED, the OS itself still supports it, and that might be more important than anything. It's very possible that it'll still work.
gosms released an update yesterday which supposedly fixes this problem.
Hmm, no update in marked for Go sms as I can see
That's weird mine updated and is working fine now
The update showed up today. It is better now, but the popup still gets on top of WidgetLocker, but now it dont remove the notifications when the screen get locked again.
Only thing missing now is "quick compose"
I did a full wipe of my galaxy nexus last night and installed 4.3 build 1. Everything works great, except my sms, emails and calendar events do not populate in the Notification Drawer. Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Update:
I a reflashed and am having the same issue. I re-installed 4.3 GAPPs, and it seemed to solve the problem. The tesla unread program from NOVA launcher was working and the GMAIL notifications were appears in the notification drawer. After a reboot, however, the behavior reverted back to GMAIL not displaying any notifications anywhere.
I have the Nova Prime - one day, I just realized that my lockscreen (which is stock) no longer provides unread count for the SMS app (Textra) that I was using. Homescreen was showing unread counts just fine with Tesla's Unreadcount mod.
First, I tried uninstalling, cleaning cache, reinstalling my SMS app, and didn't work.
Second, I uninstalled my SMS app and tried everything from default texting app, hello sms, handcent, GO SMS Pro, chomp, and none of them were giving unread counts on the lock screen.
Third, I tried swapping back to LG home launcher. At which point, the lockscreen was working as intended.
This is weird, since I thought the lockscreen was seperate from the home launcher and all the texts that I receive with Nova Launcher as default did not seem to register the unread count. Whatsapp, Email, Phone, all seem to give the counts correctly, but it was just my default SMS app that wouldn't show unread counts. Help!!
Update #1 - So this seems to happen every time I make Nova Launcher my default home screen launcher. That seems to be the trigger for the event. If there is one unread message from home launcher, and I switch over to Nova, the 1 notification badge will stick and will not disappear, no matter how many times I check my Textra. Please help!
bump
Hi, am new on this group.
I've purchased Vivo V9 a month back and I like this model. But, I am facing notifications issue in my Vivo V9.
Thing is, when I got notifications on Whatsapp, G-Mail, Missed Calls, Messages etc. so all of these notifications doesn't always shows up in the locked screen/notification tray etc. I am a freelancer and it's very important for me to keeping eye on my G-Mail, UpWork App (My Work Related App), Parallel Space (Using one useful clone app on this), Skype etc. But most of the times, I don't get any notifications on the locked screen even sometimes on the notification tray. I've checked with all the settings such as each app's notifications/permissions settings, general notification settings etc. everything. Even, restored my phone for two times. But, I always missed few of my important notifications. i.e. I've setup Whatsapp to show all the notifications one the locked screen, pop-up, notification tray etc. but whenever i got message on Whatsapp, it makes sound, popup appeared, showed in notification tray but doesn't show in locked screen.
Moreover, sometimes the notifications doesn't shows up even on a notifications tray.
I wanted to know that is somebody facing this kind of issue on this model? If so, what did you do to resolve this? Or, if someone has idea of all the possible reasons for this issue?
Thanks!
Hi all, after Nova 7 update there are something different with notification badges, i suppose due to the end of use of Tesla Unread.
Before i had notification badge for all notification, not just those on the notification bar.
In particular there are different behaviours with Whatsapp: i have many groups chat with notification turned off, with Tesla Unread the notification badge still showed the count of unread messages, both of "regular" chats and muted ones, which was very useful to me; now after the update, i see notification badge only for "active" notifications and i have to enter the app to see all unread messages.
Anyone in my same situation? Are there any workaround?
I hope i have explained.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Francesco,
yes, I'm in the same situation. Have you found a workaround?
