Leaked News:
OUKITEL starts a new device: U7 Plus with fingerprint scanner
From the beginning of July, OUKITEL has gradually leaked that they are working on several new smartphones. We already know something about K7000 and U13 Pro, now there comes another new smartphone, the U7 Plus.
As an upgrading version of the U7 Pro, this one follows the design of it predecessor that is similar to the iPhone 6 but moves the fingerprint sensor, that works also as physical home button, to the back cover. U7 Plus will get the latest 360-degree fingerprint sensor which allows unlock screen quickly while the screen is off as well as providing extra data protection.
U7 Plus will feature a 5.5 inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass and a unibody poly-carbonated battery cover. It offers 16.7 million sharp and bright colors for photos and videos. Inside the device, it carries the latest Mediatek MT6737 Quad-core chipset with 1.3GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM and built-in storage of 16GB ROM. It is getting 3 slots with two for SIM cards which supports 4G and one for 32GB expandable memory TF card.
What’s more, U7 Plus adds a notification LED for phone calls and notifications as well as charging which didn’t appear on U7 Pro. It is between the PGL (Proximity, Gravity, and Light) sensor and receiver. According to reliable resources, U7 Plus will start presale at the end of July with a competitive wallet-friendly price.
OUKITEL U7 Plus is getting its first hands-on video that shows its design and appearance.
From the video we can see that the OUKITEL U7 Plus is designed to be a pretty elegant device. It is a 5.5 inch device with 2.5D curved screen. Similar to the iPhone, the top and bottom part of the front are wider than normal 5.5 inches devices but the frame inside the screen is narrowed to 0.1mm.
On the upper part of the device, there is a 5MP front camera, the receiver, a notification LED and PGL sensor. The power and volume keys are designed to be on different side of the frame; Earphones Jack on top and Microphone, Speaker and USB port on the bottom.
U7 Plus is coated with a whole piece of piano lacquer painted plastic cover. Piano lacquer painted cover is showing a feeling of metal luster and not easy to lose varnish (let's say pseudo-metal). The 13MP camera is on the top left with the LED flash below it. The fingerprint scanner is located at the top, convenient for index finger to press (because it also works as a key).
It also indicated in the video that the U7 Plus will get 3 colors, space grey, rose gold and champagne gold.
OUKITEL U7 Plus Full Specifications unveiled with retail price and much more
OUKITEL has just unveiled the final full specifications for the U7 Plus. As an updated version of the U7 Pro, U7 Plus adds much higher level hardware for it.
Design
Same as U7 Pro, the U7 Plus features a curved 5.5-inch display and whole piece of poly-carbonated plastic uni-body. The difference is that U7 Pro got champagne gold, space gray and white colors, while U7 Plus will be available with Champagne Gold, Space Gray and Rose Gold colors.
The rear camera is located on the top left of the back which is the same as on U7 Pro but adds a fingerprint scanner at the middle 1/4 top back.
As regards the size, its dimensions are*157.6 x 78.4 x 9.15 mm, which is not extremely thin for a phone sporting a 2500mAh battery but the removable battery cover requires more space.
The battery cover is removable, so OUKITEL designed the SIM trays inside the device, not on the side of the device. It supports Dual SIM cards and an extra Micro-SD card. There is a physical power button on the right and volume buttons on the left. A 3.5mm headphone jack is located at the top of the phone, while the 5-pins micro USB port is located on the bottom, together with the loudspeaker.
Specifications (full on first post)
OUKITEL U7 Plus features a curved 5.5 inch HD display, 5 mega-pixel front camera and 13 mega-pixel rear camera. The rear camera has an F2.0 aperture and features noticeable additions such as “V” gesture detection, HDR mode, face beauty mode and panorama exporter.
Things are different as regards the used CPU and the amount of RAM/ROM for U7 Pro and U7 Plus. The U7 Plus has a MediaTek MT6737 chipset and 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM while U7 Pro had MediaTek MT6580 chipset and 1GB RAM with 8GB ROM.
Network support for U7 Plus is better too: 4G Bands 1/3/7/8/20, 3G bands: WCDMA Bands 900/2100, 2G GSM Bands: 850/900/1800/1900, while U7 Pro only supported 2G/3G.
Fingerprint
As rumored, except for unlock device and lock APPs, U7 Plus fingerprint scanner has other two addition features.
1 - you can link a specified finger to one app
2 - the fingerprint scanner can be used to take photo and receive phone calls, but this needs to be confirmed.

As OUKITEL U7 Plus is officially online, more details about it emerge. U7 Plus is getting a similar design as the iPhone 6s plus, but move the fingerprint sensor to the back and put menu, home and back button on the front. The fingerprint sensor is based on the latest tech, offering same unlock speed like iPhone 6s.
U7 Plus features the same ROM capacity as the iPhone 6s plus, both with 2GB RAM, but the U7 Plus will not have any 64GB and 128GB version. As almost every Mediatek device, the U7 Plus offers smart gestures to unlock device to a targeted APP, while iPhone doesn't have this feature.
For camera, we can see from the video that the U7 Plus takes sharper and clearer photos than the iPhone 6s plus. However, for the download speed, U7 Plus is a totally win over the iPhone 6s plus. When U7 Plus already finished downloading and install an application, iPhone 6s plus is still 5% downloading. U7 Plus will be sold only at $89.99 for retail (Official Price), which is nearly 9 times cheaper than the iPhone 6s Plus.
Detailed Information can be found by the link: http://www.oukitel.com/products/u/u7-plus-52.html
According to the project progress, OUKITEL U7 Plus will start delivery before end of this month.
As OUKITEL U7 Plus pre-sale starts, they finally decided which software to use and stepped into the testing process. It will bring some new features for its fingerprint sensor.
Previously for OUKITEL android devices such as the K6000 Pro, the fingerprint sensor is used to unlock the whole device from the black screen, lock and unlock APPs, now another 3 different thing is coming for the fingerprint.
- First, it will divide the usage for unlock screen and lock application. In the old fingerprint usage, if you don't use the fingerprint as the unlock way for screen, your settings for lock and unlock application is also closed. But in the new version, even if you use password or pattern as screen unlock method, you can set fingerprint unlock for your applications. This is a good way to protect your personal information. If your family member wants to use your phone, you can give it to him, but use your fingerprint to lock your important conversation app.
- Second, it adds some new functions for the fingerprint sensor. You can tap the fingerprint to take a photo, to answer a phone call, to change to next photo in your album page, to pause music and start music again, and to pause/start a video again.
- Third, it allows you to link a fingerprint to specified fingerprint. U7 Plus allows you to link 5 fingerprints to it, previously, all the fingerprint are same function to unlock screen and applications, now it can open an application directly. For example, you enrolled your right index finger and choose to link to Facebook, then in black screen, when you tap fingerprint by index finger, you will go to the Facebook app directly.
all those new fingerprint actions are very useful , especially the 3rd one saves so much time
In this video, the U7 Plus and their next, unknown yet, new model C4 were inserted in a watermelon, and then dropped from 12 meters high building.

Is there someone who has already pre-ordered the device?
Nowadays, we are more and more relying on our smartphone cameras to take photos, not only for our daily life sharing, but also for business, travelling, etc...
To take better photos, the camera photos quality is a quite important factor when we choose devices. Mostly we will judge by camera's megapixels and the reviewer's taken photos.
However, for mobile cameras, even though the same pixels camera, the photos quality can be quite different. If we only see one device, we won't feel any difference, but, once you compare the same scene together, you will know that the quality on different devices is quite different.
Here is a video showing the photos taken by 3 devices with similar price and same camera's megapixels.
They are the OUKITEL U7 Plus, Bluboo Maya, and Homtom HT17 Pro. All with 13MP rear camera, but the photos, videos, and selfies are quite different.
Which one you prefer?
Introduction
This is the OUKITEL U7 Plus.
Hardware
This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6737 SOC clocked at 1.25GHz, a new CPU from Mediatek that is basically an MT6735 with a new Modem that supports VoLTE, together with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. It features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with basic accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Certificate and the Smartphone (of course). No TPU Cover or Screen Protector, but as always a screen protector is already applied.
The device has an Unibody Plastic Chassis, pretty solid and it provides a great grip with curved edges. We all might have preferred a Metal Chassis, but this is removable and makes the device much lighter.
It is 16.00x7.83x0.94cm, considering that this is a 5.5 inches device it isn't compact at all. I had to use my old-Meter to measure the device because my caliper supports maximum 15.3cm. It weights 197g, maybe a bit too much for a Plastic Device.
On the front side there is the usual 2.5D Curved Display, with small bezels. The upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors, and the rare Notification LED. Finally a device that has it, well done OUKITEL! This is something so rare to find nowadays. On the lower front side there is only the Soft Keys area, with Menu, Home and Back touch buttons.
On the back side there is the Unibody Plastic Chassis, removable and solid.
The upper rear side of the device features the Camera Sensor supported by a single rounded Flashlight, and the compact, rounded, Fingerprint Scanner. OUKITEL design makes all rounded. The lower rear side of the device features just the brand logo, because the Speaker is positioned near the Micro-USB port.
Device
Screen
The screen is pretty good, without any issue as regards grayscale, color reproduction and so on, just a bit warm.
Light Sensor supports smooth light changes, this is its maximum brightness. Maybe it should have been a bit higher for a 5.5 inches screen.
Viewing Angles are not as good as i would have expected. Compared to other OUKITEL devices, this doesn't offer the same viewing experience.
Camera
Rear Camera is pretty good, photos quality doesn't have major noise issues, even on low-light conditions. Daylight photos are detailed and sharp.
Flashlight is powerful enough, sufficient to improve low-light photos but do not expect superb light. (do not compare it with Dual-LED configs)
As regards Video Recording, 1080p videos (Video Quality – Fine) are recorded with an decent level of details, just remember that there is no OIS so you can’t expect stable videos.
Front Camera records decent photos, and it seems to be a wide-angle variant. Selfie-lovers will appreciate it.
Audio
Speaker is loud enough, a bit distorted it seems but nothing serious.
Unlike most other devices, it is positioned near the Micro-USB port, so even if you place it on your desk or anywhere else, you won’t have to worry about it. A nice add-on.
As regards the Microphone, it works decently well in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...).
The Audio Department has been accurately enough designed, i am a bit bored to see devices with speakers on the back, so this is something that i always appreciate on any device.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Thanks to the 4G Band 20 support (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it), I’m almost always and everywhere connected to the 4G Network of my Mobile Network Provider (TIM Italy).
Also 3G Signal Reception is accurate, even though some 3G frequencies are missing, maybe my engineering sample will get other frequencies with an update, who knows.
4G Network Speed is pretty good, it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good. While 3G Network Speed, is just fine as it should.
WiFi 5GHz isn't supported here, so only 2.4GHz WiFi speed can be tested. I managed to get connected to my network connection at 65mbps, and Speed Tests reached more or less 41mbps.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity matches the declared one. (declared 2500mAh, real ~2550mAh).
Check this Geekbench Battery Test, good battery life for just 2500mAh of Battery Capacity.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/386758
As regards battery charging times, the 5V/1A charger is enough for a normal charging runtime, but you can't expect super-fast times.
Software
OUKITEL choose to use, as they always do, an almost completely clean Android 6.0 release and it works pretty good, but with some performance issues. I'll talk more about performance in the next paragraph.
Just like other last-gen Mediatek Devices, there are some typical features such as Gestures, Scheduled Power On/Off, etc…
Notification LED settings are pretty simple, the color isn't customizable but still better than nothing.
As regards the Fingerprint Scanner management, it is pretty easy to configure, pretty fast unlock times with just some minor issues with its accuracy.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 3, GFXBench, PCMark (Work & Storage) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance isn't superb, lower than MT6737, maybe the software isn't ready enough. I hope to see some improvements here.
AndroBench – eMMC Performance is decent, not superb, but more than enough for basic tasks. At least it guarentees no lags while saving photos or such.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – As you can see, 3D performance is medium. Not as good as MT6735, but sufficient.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (4x Cortex-A53), enough to handle almost every type of activity.
GFXBench – As already said, GPU performance is lower than MT6735 so it clearly confirms that the software isn't ready yet.
PCMark – As you can see, only the Writing score is a bit lower than others.
Work
Storage
Vellamo – Nothing to say about this benchmark, seems to be decent for the CPU.
Just like i said for the OUKITEL C4, it is clearly noticeable that this device needs some software improvements as regards performance. Every OUKITEL device i have tried have been updated constantly, so an OTA update to fix this performance issue might be near to release.
Conclusions
5.5 inches devices are becoming more and more common nowadays, and this makes no exception. It has a good screen, great design and solid build quality. If OUKITEL manages to fix this Performance issues that seems to be present on all MT6737 devices i am trying, including their latest OUKITEL C4, then this can be definitely considered as the cheapest, and most complete, 5.5 inches device.
So, do I recommend it? Yes, unless you manage to find something better at the same price.
Pros:
Accurate Screen
Notification LED
Good Quality Camera
Fingerprint Sensor
Decent Battery Life
Nice Unibody Design
Cons:
Software needs some performance improvements
No Compass/Magnetometer
A Dual-LED Flashlight might have been better
Not so compact as other 5.5 inches devices

What is the procedure to root it?
Does it support SDXC of 64Gb?
Great review - thank you!
Did you test the GPS Fix?
I've heard that MT6737 is very slow and unstable.
Thank you.
I have bought this phone yesterday on GB, hope i won't get disapointed, but just for 65€ for the specs it's hilarious! The Reason i bought this model apart from the other MTK67537 is the beauty and the Led notification that hope i can customize it has i want, having 2GB ram while others only have 1GB, but i thought that it would be thinner 9.4mm it's already a bit bold not comparable with iphone, but who cares for this price.
@Napfgeist
I saw on youtube a review in spanish about this phone and it works very well the GPS.

I have the strong feeling looking that Uhans A101 redefines for us the philosophy of smart-phones.
Uhans expresses a lot with A101 about style-consciousness and luxury.
Uhans A101 redefines smart-phone delivering powerful up-to-date CPU MT6737 with 1.3GHz
Here you have a comparison of Uhans a101 on MT6737 with any other smartphone on MT6580
Uhans A101 is equipped with the powerful MediaTek MT6737 chipset, more precise GPS and 4G network
Uhans A101 operates on efficient, elegant and energy saving Android 6
Sneak Peek Review.
Package consists of phone, charger, USB cable, manual.
I am very glad to see a manufacturer insert something else in the package other than the basic stuff. In the Uhans A101box, there is a micro USB cable, a charger, and a user manual, you know, the basic stuff.
Besides all that there are a screen protector and a silicone case as well. Headphones are not included in the box but that is a standard practice nowadays.
Any headphones with a 3.5mm input will do, so I could use the one I have at home
THE PHONE
The material used for Uhans A101 is of high-quality plastic made solid by use of ultra-thin metal.
The design, is quite similar to Samsung s7 with some changes.
The screen to body ratio is very good and it also relates to s7.
Like in most smartphones the capacitive buttons at the bottom and the volume rocker and power button on the right side of the unit.
The whole design of the phone is round edged which looks very good and provides a premium look to the phone.
On the front of the device, there is a 5-Inch display covered with a 2.5D glass panel. Above the screen, there is a front camera.
The back there is a primary camera with a single LED flash in the center as I like the most..
The design of the back is quite nominalistic, and it looks astonishing
On the top of the phone, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and at the bottom, there are speaker grills as well as a micro USB port.
Hardware
CPU: MTK6737 Quad Core , ARM ,Cortex-A53, clock speed is declared 1.3 GHz GPU: Mali-T720MP1 , 550 MHz
System: Android 6.0
1GB RAM
8GB ROM. 4.48 GB available
SD card up to 64GB
2xSIM
Uhans A101 has 1GB of RAM so I do not think it is sufficient for high multitasking. But looking at price I cannot complain too much.
For storage purpose, the internal 8GB of ROM is provided for installing the application and their data.
Luckily the storage can be expanded up to 64GB using TF card because you get less than 3GB of ROM available for user.
Uhans A101 runs on Freeme OS 6.1 which is a copy of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The UI is really fast, very customizable, and it comes with many modifications over a stock Android. There is no back up apk.
For many of us there are 4 basic things with smartphone that are immediately seen and evaluated
1. Display.
Uhans boasts with A101 supreme display.
IPS 5' display with 720p resolution (1280x720 pixels).
The display is luxurious ..
The comparison available to watch on youtube did not lie.
It is the best screen I have ever had in an economy smartphone.
The UHANS A101 display is high quality 5.0 inches HD IPS TFT SHARP Display with multi- touch enabled and two layers of anti-fingerprint coating, this helps to keep out of display from smudges.
UHANS providing latest Gorilla glass 4 for superior protection for the screen.the PPI is about 294.
The visibility angles is not very narrow and the color intensity is great due to having Sharp display. The image rendition stays the same except viewing in extremely sharp angles. The display in maximum settings is bright as in models above the price tag of Uhans A101.
Screen is responsive, high sensitive and reacts to the touch very well providing smooth touch for users. It reacts precise while writing. It has 10 point touch.
A101 has Google keyboard pre-installed. Typing and spelling is perfect and easy in any language we download.
Anti-Fingerprint and Sensitive Touch
Two layers of anti-fingerprint coating protect 5.0-inch display from any smudges, while keeps the high sensitivity and smooth touch
2. Camera
Panasonic MN045 8MP
I was worried that 5MP camera would be weak.
But no worry with Back 5.0MP Panasonic MN045 we can make nice pictures . The quality should be corrected by software future updates.
Front is OV9762 sensor not very great for selfie
3. Battery
Uhans A101 comes with a 2450mAh battery, which is seems not enough comparing to other budget phones I had but Uhans A101 has 5 ‘HD display and with Android 6.0 and MT6737 which is very efficient
Replaceable battery is quite sufficient for daily moderate usage and it can support Fast Charging.
MT6737 is economical so the battery consumption should be moderate. MT6737 is 4G and on paper should be more efficient than MT6580. While I tested some phones on MT6737 it was with mixed feeling. Screen mostly had visible slack.
Uhans A101 in comparison is quit snappy.
Although as I mentioned above I would prefer a 2GB RAM version to 1GB.
4. Superb build quality
Uhans A101 comes as you can see in 2 aesthetic colors
midnight navy & cloud dancer
Both desirable colors and build quality express style consciousness, luxury of material and perception of ergonomics.
I tested the blue version.
Moreover Uhans relates the idea of A101 from architecture of Antoni Gaudi to engineers of Nokia.
The back cover has an elegant look, it is made of plastic with pleasant rubbery feel to it, which makes it feel and hold stable in the hand.
GPS TEST
First lock unassisted takes 3minutes later fix is fast about 10 sec.
No inside house GPS. Test doen with clouded weather.
SNR hits 30
Pros and Cons
This list can be your user guide to see whether this device suits you or not.
Pros
* Incredible attractive design and solid build quality
* Super Display made by Sharp 10 point multi-touch
* Decent camera experience
* 4G LTE network speeds
* Good chipset MT6737
Cons
* Battery life is average at best
* Not too much of storage at your disposal 2.9 GB
* Enough for daily use but 1GB is not too much of RAM for multitasking and is standard in economy phones
* No NFC
Conclusion
Uhans A101 5' with glorious display should be our first choice when it comes to budget smart-phones.
My first impressions are VERY positive.
Workmanship and quality of materials and components surpasses any other budget smart-phone.
10 point touch Sharp display and gorilla glass 4 is above average.
There is only one element that makes me think about budget phones.
This is the price. For 59.99USD.
For a MT6737 with 1GB RAM device it is snappy and responsive.
Last but least Google Sky map can be started on that device.

UHANS A101's back consists as if of two layers of rubber matte coating, creating a texture close to skin.
Two layers of soft rubber coating is smooth and soft.
No sharp lines. No sharp angles.
Exquisite fine processing together with eco- friendly plastic material, and a sprayed metal painting, the frame gets even more stylish fitting with the curvy edge.

Uhans with A101 resigned from suddenly so common fingerprint scanner at the back cover.
With Iris security technology fingerprint scanner is out-dated.
Comfort, speed and security of Iris technology does not justify fingerprint at the back cover any longer.
Back cover has the ergonomically justified tools in form of back 8MP camera and flash light.

I have a smartphone at this company. Hopefully craftsmen on this forum will do custom firmware. I love to update smartphones. That is not enough.
Maybe Uhans too has the potential to sell 200 millions units of A101 model like the Nokia original did. Maybe it doesn't.
Uhans A101 has Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (Freeme 6.1 UI).
In time there will be TWRP recovery, so you can customise your Uhans A101 as you wish.
Are you certain you would like to change it?

The recently launched Uhans A101 is not dazzling anybody with its powerful hardware, but among the budget devices it has an edge thanks to the 4G supporting chipset.
Most of the phones in comparable price range are still sporting the MT6580 without a trace of the faster 4G internet networks.

Leaked exclusive renders
With the increasing demand for better visual experience, this year numerous smartphone manufacturers have released their smartphones with larger-size screen. Chinese mobile manufactures, Bluboo Mobile just launched their 6.0 inch Maya Max, and now a set of pictures of their upcoming smartphone named Bluboo Mini are exposed.
The new Bluboo Mini comes with 4.5’’ qHD IPS 960x540 display. From the exposed pictures, we can find the device is really small, exquisite and would fit perfectly well in your hand. Bluboo declared that the new Bluboo Mini would not compromise on visual performance with smaller display, and would produce vivid and colorful images
Stayed tuned for further news about Bluboo Mini.
Bluboo Mini Review
It is a comeback to 4.5 inch smartphones.
Mini is an addition to the Bluboo line of budget phones and is a strong contender in the market for those consumers that seek a phone with a high visual impact and low price and good hardware features.
Bluboo Mini is packed in white carton box which contains Mini, charger & cable, Warranty and user manual.
DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
The Bluboo Mini is all plastic structure with plastic frame metal electroplated effect on the sides which gives an elegant and unique image.
Design is attractive with the unique geometric texture of the back cover with white, black, red and blue for options. Mini build gives an elegant impression. The build of the device is solid, The phone is firm and it doesn’t bend.
Bluboo did a good job designing budget smartphone Mini with an appeal of upper class.
Standard volume rocker and the power button made of plastic are placed on the right side, which is a standard. The back cover has a nice cool looking pattern of chick plastic very aesthetic in handling in four colors white, red, black and blue.
On the back which I find not very practical there is speaker chamber.
DISPLAY
The display packs a 4. 5-inch qHD IPS 960x540. Screen Density good for an general phone on 240dpi.
Pixel density is average. Display gives more natural colors and display is very bright for a budget phone. Much better than in many Doogee and Homtom competitors.
The colors are quite vivid and natural. Viewing angles are excellent with little to no color and contrast changes when viewing from extreme angles. Viewing angles are good and the screen is readable even in direct sunlight. The control buttons are not back-lit but they are good visible in daylight.
The display is 2 point multi- touch.
The response of the digitizer is really good. It reacts even on gentle touches with fast and precise response. The auto-brightness setting works quite fine.
PERFORMANCE & STORAGE
Bluboo Mini Hardware features:
* MT 6580 1.3 GHz
* Mali 400 GPU
* 5MP main camera (interpolated to 8 MP) GC 5005
* 2 MP front camera (interpolated to 5MP) GC 2365
* 4.5 inch display qHD IPS 960x540 resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4
* battery 1850 mAh
* 1 GB RAM
* 8 GB of storage
* 3G
* Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the OS
* 1 x Full size SIM 1x Mini SIM
* SD card up to 264GB
The heart of Bluboo Mini is Quad-core processor MT6580 clocked at the speed of 1.3 GHz.
MTK 400 GPU .
RAM memory capacity is 1 GB.
Internal storage capacity is 8 GB from which 4.6 GB is free with SD card expansion slot up to 264GB.
AndroBench – eMMC performance is very average especially in regard to Random Write of just 1 MB/s.
Antutu Benchmark results.
Overall performance is about average considering the 50USD price range it is self-evident on the AnTuTu Benchmark of 22227 which I do for the fun of benchmark fans but which is not to be relied on very much.
BlLUBOO MINI GPS
I have made the GPS test outside the house.
The first cold lock on the Bluboo mini took more than 5 minutes, and subsequent locks took far too long
No 3D fix with 2D fix hard to get. GPS of Mini is not to be used with a navigation at least not mine unit.
Mini supports GPS and A-GPS no Glonass . .
NETWORK
Band (3G): WCDMA 900/2100 MHz
Band (3G): WCDMA 850/1900/2100 MHz
Mini has 3G support. No 4G and no LTE
SENSORS
CAMERA
The rear camera has 5 MP GC 5005 used already with success in many budget phones
Photos are of an average quality and details
Above I include a sample.
If you enjoy taking selfies this model is definitely not for you since the front camera also has 2 MP GC 2365 camera. This interpolated to 5MP selfie camera is really average. Just adequate images for social sharing.
OPERATING SYSTEM (OS)
The all new Bluboo Mini runs on Android 6 Marshmallow with Phenix Launcher, which is energy efficient. A standard user will quickly find his way while using this device and the overall user experience is at its top. There are few bloat-ware apps pre-installed which after rooting can be removed. No spontaneous restart occurred to me during the review. Everything is running smoothly.
The system has a set of smart gestures.
BATTERY
1850 mAh is just enough for daily task since Mini has 4.5 display and energy efficient MT6580 and Android 6.0
SOUND
An average sound during the media playing due to sound chamber at the back of the phone.
Good quality of sound during GSM and Wifi calls.
In my list below you can see the arranged qualities and flaws of this handset.
PROS
• Back camera 5 MP GC5005
• Elegant plastic with electroplated metal effect on the sides and chick geometric pattern
• Battery of 1850mAh
* 256GB expansion for SD card
* qHD display with 2 point multi-touch
CONS
* Old 3G CPU
* no HD screen
* lack of etui in the box
CONCLUSION
The whole configuration of Bluboo Mini seems quite decent and could satisfy the essential needs of users. Bluboo offers Minii at 49 USD so they kept their promise when mentioned that it would be more affordable than ever.

Leaked News:
OUKITEL is starting to work on a new smartphone named U20 Plus with dual camera design on back cover.
This is not the first device that designs two camera lens on the back. Other brands like Huawei, LG, HTC, Apple, Xiaomi already released some smartphones with dual rear cameras. OUKITEL is also joining this field to build dual rear cameras smartphones, but with most cost-effective price.
The model is named as U20 Plus, it will pack dual lens on the back, the main rear camera is powered by a 13.0MP (interpolated to 16MP) Sony IMX135 sensor. Combining superior hardware and optimized software with dual lenses, the U20 Plus will offer DSLR experience with more light and better clarity.
U20 Plus also offers the latest fingerprint sensor. Except for improving the unlock speed, OUKITEL will also pre-install more functionalities for fingerprint. It will divide long press fingerprint function and single tap fingerprint function.
A good camera ensures great photo and video quality, it would be more exciting if the display can show it in a perfect way. For showing the best effect, U20 Plus will get a 5.5 inch FHD display with 1080p resolution and adopting original SHARP glass for screen.
U20 Plus is planned to go to market at end of this month, and will be officially on www.oukitel.com next week.[/url]
Last week OUKITEL stated that they are releasing a new smartphone named U20 Plus with dual rear camera. Here comes more information about this new promising smartphone.
The most important feature of this device is the camera. It will pack dual-lens on the back with the main camera processing imaging and the secondary camera recording the image data, providing SLR shooting experience. The most obvious photo effect is that it will highlight the theme and blur background.
The main rear camera is adopting an original Sony IMX135 sensor. Originally it was planned to do 13MP mega pixels and interpolated to 16MP in software, but according to research among consumers, it's better to not use interpolation (finally). So this time U20 Plus will feature real 13MP Sony IMX135 camera and 5MP front camera, no interpolation.
Big battery is surely important for batter enjoy the device. U20 Plus will get 3300mAh big battery from SCUD with intelligent power consumption management.
According to OUKITEL sales team, U20 Plus will be the most cost-effective dual-lens smartphone. Presale is starts from this week.
Authorized stores will be listed on OUKITEL official website www.oukitel.com.
Below are main specs for U20 Plus:
Screen size: 5.5inch FHD, SHARP display 1920*1080, 2.5D curved, 5 points multi-touch

How to distinguish a real dual-lens camera and a fake dual-lens camera
Recently many brands like Huawei, LG, HTC, Apple, Xiaomi and others already released several smartphones with dual rear cameras. Other manufacturers are also following their steps to produce dual-lens cameras. The produced photo effect is surely great if you use a dual-lens camera because it can reach the levels of a SLR camera.
When we choose it, we need to be sure that it's a real one. But how do we distinguish it then? Here is the way.
Working principle: main camera processes the image, the secondary camera handles the image data. Frankly speaking, the main camera is for taking photos and secondary camera is for handling the photo effects like blur background, deduce noise, etc...
Difference between a real dual-lens camera and fake dual-lens:
a. Among Mediatek chipsets, only chipsets above MT6737T can support two cameras working at same time, so if the device has an MT6737 (not T) processor, then it can't support it.
b. The fastest way to judge: cover the secondary camera, the blur effect will disappear for a real dual-lens camera.
c. The dual lens will both open when working
All specs of U20 Plus have been added to the first post attached. More details can be found on OUKITEL official page.
Another great news is that U20 Plus already started wide pre-sale flash sale on OUKITEL Authorized Stores.
Someone say that the U20 Plus design looks like iPhone 7 plus, but if you see it clearly, you will find that they are different.
See the first video about the appearance design of U20 Plus below. At first sight, it indeed has the iPhone style because both of them design the dual-lens camera on the top left and both of them getting rounded back cover.
U20 Plus gets 3 colors: grey, champagne gold, rose gold. According to OUKITEL product team, they will most probably make a Jet Black color that is the same as the iPhone 7 Plus Jet Black. But, it will come later compared to the first 3 colors.
As already said, it features a dual-lens rear camera, and the main camera is Sony IMX135 (13MP) sensor, here ( https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7cZ8nZJjxovaGUxY1dtT3VHQ3c?usp=sharing ) you can see several photos taken by U20 Plus. Notice the blurred background.
U20 Plus gets a 3300mAh big battery, but it is only 8.4mm for the body. Though the back cover is not metal, polycarbonated instead, the back cover should give you a wonderful hand feel.
U20 Plus is still on pre-sale for the moment, with flash sale. Authorized Stores can be found on OUKITEL Official website.
OUKITEL said that the final software is confirmed and real photos taken by the U20 Plus are now available.
In the video, they took photos in outside, in a room and during the night. They also compared the photos taken in normal photo mode and SLR mode. At the end, they took a short video of an aquarium. YouTube Default Compression has been used so it might be a bit better in real-life.
As already said many times, the U20 Plus has a dual-lens rear camera, with a 13MP Sony IMX135 primary sensor while the secondary rear camera is only 0.3MP, required to adjust the SLR effect. It also features a 5.5 inches FHD display from SHARP.
OUKITEL said that the U20 Plus is on mass-production starting from this week, if there is no issues, next week they will start normal shipments. Consumers who already pre-ordered will get it soon. Also, the Pre-Sale flash sale is still running in some stores, but in limited quantity.
OUKITEL has reworked the design of the U20 Plus smartphone, planning to add the popular Jet Black color version, which is the biggest change and totally different exterior color from all the old models.
Jet black back cover is glossy. The glossy surface is achieved by running the device through a complicated process required to achieve the stunning perfect glossy appearance and to produce a mirror-like effect. As far as we know, all the specs and features are the same with the other 3 colors variants.
The Jet Black color will go on pre-sale online by the end of this month. According to latest news from the OUKITEL's factory, they have already started producing champagne gold version on the 7th of December. Regarding the date for the other 2 colors, we will update it soon.
So, which one would you rather get? Jet Black, Gray, Rose Gold or Champagne Gold? Just post it here if you want.
OUKITEL U20 Plus Vs. Xiaomi Mi5S Plus Vs. iPhone 7 Plus - specs comparison
As we known, OUKITEL U20 Plus, Xiaomi Mi5S Plus and iPhone 7 Plus, all are the new products in 2016 that used the double camera module for an high quality shoot. Regarding which one is the best choice, check out this specs comparison.
For those who are planning to buy a new smartphone for the new year (2017), just comparing the pricing, the OUKITEL U20 Plus will not burn a hole in your pocket.
Great device - just ordered the Gray version.
Mod Edit: Link to video containing selling links removed.
Here unboxing video from me.
Introduction
This is the OUKITEL U20 Plus.
Hardware
This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6737T SOC clocked at 1.44GHz, the Full-HD capable variant of the MT6737 (standard variant supports maximum HD), together with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. Unlike any other previous OUKITEL device, this features a Dual-Camera configuration, made of a 13MP rear main camera and 0.3MP rear secondary camera. Nothing special for the front camera, just a classic 5MP camera.
Unboxing
Packaging comes with some accessories: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x 5V/1A USB Charger, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Warranty Certificate, 1x TPU Cover and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied (mine was scratched so you won't see it here).
This is the second device i review from OUKITEL using an Unibody Plastic Chassis and it feels pretty solid (not superb, it is still plastic), much better compared to the U7 Plus (same type of chassis). Something i do not like at all is the position of Volume/Power Keys, they are on the left side of the device.
It is 15.39x7.75x0.85cm, as big as the U7 Plus, with medium bezels. As regards its weight, well it is heavy considering the type of chassis. 193g are a bit too much.
On the front side there is the usual 2.5D Curved Display and the upper front side of the device features a Front-Facing Camera, an Earpiece, and the Sensors hole that includes Light, Proximity and Gesture Sensors. A Notification LED is here, but it only supports one color: green.
On the lower front side there is the Touch Keys area, with Menu, Home and Back touch buttons.
On the back side there is the unibody chassis, just like the U7 Plus.
The upper rear side of the device features the Dual-Camera Sensors supported by a single rounded Flashlight, and the compact, rounded, Fingerprint Scanner.
On the lower rear side there is just the OUKITEL logo because the Speaker is placed near the Micro-USB port.
Device
Screen
The screen is great, probably the best Full HD screen i have ever tried on a OUKITEL device. Color Temperature is slightly high, but not too much, and everything else is just fine.
Light Sensor supports smooth light changes, this is its maximum brightness. Ok, this isn't the brightest screen you can find on a device, but it is bright enough for any kind of usage.
Viewing Angles are good, just like on all IPS screens, nothing to complain here.
Camera
First of all i am not a professional photographer so my photos might look a bit messy, i do not know how to handle this Dual Camera system properly.
Photos taken using the standard photo mode are good, the usual noise level is here, but every single photos looks pretty detailed. The old Sony IMX135 (13MP) sensor still works great.
"HDR off" on the left and "HDR on" on the right.
Here you can see some photos taken using the SLR feature, "Standard" on the left and "SLR" on the right.
Flashlight is powerful enough, but sometimes it seems to be a bit too warm making photos look a bit yellow, just like my glove here.
Macro Photos look great, detailed and with vibrant colors.
As regards Video Recording, the camera is able to record 1080p Videos at 30FPS, and the quality is decent. Check my sample here.
Front Camera is not great, but neither too bad (GalaxyCore GC5005). Sufficient for Video Chats. It seems to be a Wide-Angle variant though. Here you can see a cat-selfie.
Audio
Starting from the Speaker, its volume isn't super-high and lacks low frequencies. Unfortunately this is something common with OUKITEL devices. (except the C3 and C4)
As regards the Microphone, it works great in any case (in-call, VOIP, etc...), and the earpiece is loud and clear.
GPS
The GPS on this device confuses me. Ok, it was cloudy when i have tested it (check this photo) but it is weird to see that outdoors is able to lock many satellites (just like all OUKITEL devices), while indoors it isn't able to see any. I don't know how to evaluate this result.
Weather Photo
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Thanks to the 4G Band 20 support (some other Chinese Smartphones don’t have it), I’m almost always and everywhere connected to the 4G Network of my Mobile Network Provider (TIM Italy).
4G Network Speed is sufficient, it highly depends on your Mobile Operator and mine isn’t pretty good.
WiFi 5GHz is supported here, and its speed mediocre. Something that impressed me is the ping, lower than my Desktop PC.
Battery Life
I have measured the real battery capacity using my USB Tester, and it seems that the real battery capacity is a bit higher than the declared one. (declared 3300mAh, real ~3350mAh).
This is the Geekbench Battery Test, somehow the battery runtime is low, definitely not acceptable for a 3300mAh battery. I assume this is a software issue, so i hope to see some improvements with an OTA Update.
https://browser.primatelabs.com/battery3/393303
As regards battery charging times, the 5V/1A charger is pretty slow to charge this big battery, almost 3 hours. I don't know why, but OUKITEL doesn't seem to like fast chargers.
Software
Just like almost all OUKITEL devices, also this one uses a clean Android 6.0 OS with some minor customizations. I know, it doesn't have Nougat, but OUKITEL has already planned the update so don't worry about it. Anyway, it runs smoother than other 2GB RAM devices i have tested, this MT6737T CPU is great.
MiraVision is here, together with other Mediatek Features such as Smart Gestures (double tap-to-wake, etc...)
There is no Gyroscope or Magnetometer even though the software doesn't think so.
As regards the Fingerprint Scanner management, it is pretty easy to configure, pretty fast unlock times with almost no issues with its accuracy.
As you may notice, the fingerprint settings menu is full of nice options. Interesting additions compared to previous OUKITEL devices.
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 3, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – GPU Performance is interesting, compared to the MT6737M it is an huge improvement.
AndroBench – Mediocre eMMC Performance, Write Speed is lower than average.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – 3D Performance is a bit low, the Full HD screen isn't easy to handle.
GeekBench – CPU Performance is nearly as good as other CPUs with the same configuration (8x Cortex-A53), i would have expected an higher single core score.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – GPU Performance isn't superb as regards OpenGL 3 tests, but decent for OpenGL 2.
PCMark – Compared to the MT6737M, this is an huge upgrade.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – I might have expected some higher scores here, just sufficient.
Luckily this MT6737T CPU seems to be the real alternative for low-end devices, it isn't as laggy as MT6737M, and is able to handle almost everything without major issues.
Conclusions
Surprisingly balanced device from OUKITEL, i'm not saying that the Dual-Camera is useful or not, but the device itself, with a great display, snappy user experience and fast enough CPU/GPU, makes it balanced.
I consider this Dual-Camera feature an extra that is good to have (for those who like it), and it works great even though i still have to test other devices with the same feature so i can't tell you if it is working better or not than others.
So, do I recommend it? Currently it isn't possible to find any other device that is able to beat this for the same price, so the answer is pretty clear. Yes!
Pros:
Dual-Camera Design
Good Camera Quality
Great Screen Quality
Decent Fingerprint Sensor
Best CPU/GPU Price-Performance Ratio
Surprisingly Cheap
Cons:
Screen Brightness might have been better
GPS Signal is weird, great outdoors, poor indoors
Single-Color Notification LED
Battery Life lower than average
Heavy for a Plastic Unibody Chassis

Super easy to root as soon as someone creates a full-working TWRP recovery.
And you're welcome, if there is anything missing in the review just tell me.
Hello,
I have the phone for 10 days,
It is of good quality, I am happy to use it. I just had a problem on the front camera that no longer works. I think it's a software problem because the front works well and when I want to use the front camera I have a black screen. I would like to reinstall the firmware but for now I do not find it.
Thanks for your review
OUKITEL U20 Plus features a dual-lens rear camera and has been on sale for a while, now we have got a tear down video to see what's inside the body.
Hello,
Nobody knows when will be able to download the firmware ?

Thank you very much,
I will try to install it to repair the front camera
I keep you informed
Hi all,
Got mine a few hours ago from Gearbest, because I thought that at 90€ it was a decent price.
I then chose DHL delivery because for only 6.50€ I could have it from 1 to 7 days.
Big mistake, I didn't knew DHL was passing all the packages to the customs, taking 15€ too, so I had to pay 29€ in taxes in total at delivery...Which is way less interresting at 90+6.50+29=125.50€ :crying:
Anyway, here's my 1st impressions :
The thing is ****ing heavy for a plastic phone !
Good point is it has a silicon cover on it, bad point is it seems to have a very weak signal strenght, mostly the GPS signal :/
Charger is damn slow, it's written 1000mA on it, but I won't be surprised if it's only 800mA...
Last point from my tests : can anyone confirm that this phone can't do nothing in VR ? I tried VR games, Youtube 360 vids, nothing is moving when I move the phone
For now, i won't advise this phone, the only good thing is the screen to me (oh, I forgot : the protective film is shorter than the screen, which is pretty frustrating when you slide your finger from border to center of the 2.5D screen...).

Different sources state different things. But it seems this device doesn't have a gyroscope hence VR isn't possible (or at least not traditional VR). For clarification simply test which sensors your phone has by using Sensor Box for Android (or whichever sensor recognizing app you prefer): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=imoblife.androidsensorbox&hl=en

Review (part 1)
Introduction
This is the HOMTOM S9 Plus.
Hardware
In the last few months lots of "bezel-less" or MI MIX/S8 devices have been released as never before, and this HOMTOM S9 Plus is no exception. This S9 Plus by HOMTOM is a MI MIX inspired model but with way different characteristics, starting from the chassis design and ending with the internal hardware.
The device is powered by a mid-range Mediatek MT6750T with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Storage all powered by an huge 4050mAh battery that, apparently, offers even some extra juice. More about this in the following paragraphs.
Unboxing
Compared to the usual rectangular packaging, this one feels more premium, even though the contents might leave you slightly disappointed: 1x Micro-USB Cable, 1x USB OTG Cable, 1x 5V/2A USB Charger, 1x User Guide, 1x SIM Card Tray Removal Tool, 1x Plastic Screen Protector, 1x Hard Plastic Cover (no TPU) and the Smartphone (of course). A screen protector is already applied.
This is one of those devices not made for maximum comfort in hand since, even though it is compact, it is slightly "bricky" with no rounded corners. Other than that, it feels solid and there are no visible imperfections anywhere, neither visible glue between the chassis and the back cover. You can feel the coldness (or the opposite, since it works as an heatspreader) of the metal, and this is always a good sign.
Considering the 6 inches screen, this device is one of the most compact i have ever tested (15.8x7.37x0.97cm), as big as my Xiaomi Mi Note 2 that features a 5.7 inches screen. The same can't be said for the weight, since it is slighty heavy considering that there is no metal on back: 226g.
On the front side there is the usual 2.5D glass with the IPS panel underneath and the upper front side of the device features an Earpiece and the Sensors hole that includes Light and Proximity Sensors. A Notification LED is here, and it is an RGB variant.
Here you can see the LED in action.
On the lower front side there is the Fingerprint Scanner and the Front-Facing camera. Unfortunately there is lots of wasted space where hardware buttons could have been fitted without any issue at all.
The back side features a glossy plastic surface that produces some nice light effects. Apparently, there is no oleophobic coating so it is a fingerprint magnet.
The upper rear side of the device features the protruding Dual Camera Sensors with a small rounded Single-LED Flashlight next to them.
On the lower rear side there isn't anything important except the HOMTOM logo since the speaker is located on the bottom.
Device
Screen
An HD+ (that is basically HD with some extra vertical pixels) screen for a 6 inches surface isn't the best idea to be honest, since the pixel density gets too low decreasing the viewing experience, but i must say that on this device i can't notice any serious quality decrease compared to a FHD panel, meaning that HOMTOM opted for an high-quality one.
As regards its color accuracy, it is decent but not the best since the color temperature needs to be calibrated in order to get rid of a blueish tint noticeable on my unit.
No issues noticed with the light sensor, it works just fine and it is accurate. Here you can see the screen brightness.
Viewing Angles are as good as you would expect from an high-quality IPS panel.
Camera
For some reason HOMTOM choose to use an outdated Sony IMX135 13MP camera sensor for the rear camera, that technically isn't tol bad, but in late 2017 there are way better options that could have been choosen. Anyway, photos look decent with accurate colors but there is some noise noticeable even in photos taken outdoors. HDR works perfectly though, almost a must to get some higher level of detail.
Here you can see some random photos, including macro shots.
As expected from a Single-LED flashlight, it is just enough to support the sensor in low-light conditions, just don't expect superb results.
Videos are recorded at 1080p30 with an overall stable frame-rate and acceptable quality, not the best neither the worst. You can't get anything better from this camera sensor.
The front-camera is a pretty standard 8MP sensor (GalaxyCore GC8024) that is pretty good for almost all kind of usages. Average quality, nothing to complain about.
Audio
The speaker used for this device is pretty powerful and provides a minor amount of low frequencies at maximum volume, but a minor distortion is noticeable. In-call Quality is just fine, and the earpiece is loud but lacks low frequencies at all, as usual on those bezel-less devices where the isn't much space for the speaker.
Something that is perfect, even though there is no second microphone for noise suppression, is the main microphone. It provides a crystal clear recording with no issues with the volume.
GPS
Mediocre GPS Signal and Accuracy, even though GLONASS is supported. It is stable though so no issues with navigation softwares.
Indoors on the left, outdoors on the right.
Telephony, Mobile Network & WiFi
Just like most chinese devices, also HOMTOM provides full european 4G bands support (including Band 20), and i noticed the same lack of signal reported in the GPS test. I am not saying that it is really low, but not as high as it should be, and the lower than usual speed confirms it.
Unfortunately the same lack of signal has been noticed in the WiFi tests. It supports 5GHz networks but again the signal isn't excellent, as a result the download test does look like it has been made on my 2.4GHz connection instead.
Battery Life
In order to be sure that this result was accurate, i tested its real battery capacity two times (always using my trusty USB tester) and i can confirm that the battery capacity seems to be higher than declared, almost 300mAh of extra power, always appreciated ^^. (real ~4305mAh, declared 4050mAh)
Considering the 6 inches IPS panel and the not so power-friendly Mediatek SOC, the PCMark Battery Test is impressive. 12 hours and 17 minutes at minimum brightness, WiFi on and Sync on. Well Done HOMTOM for the excellent power optimization.
Sadly no Mediatek Pump Express charger has been provided for faster charging considering the battery capacity. The 5V/2A charger manages to recharge the device completely more or less 3 hours.
Software
Being the first HOMTOM device i ever review, i wasn't aware of their Custom UI. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with outdated security patches (c'mon HOMTOM, you can't release a new device with old software!), with a nice-looking theme and no preinstalled bloatware (except Xender but it can be uninstalled). It runs 100% smooth with no lags even under high-load, mainly thanks to the HD+ only screen that reduces the GPU-load.
Some Mediatek Features are here such as Gestures, Tap-to-Wake, etc...including MiraVision.
Unfortunately there is no Gyroscope or Magnetometer/Compass.
No malwares detected with Malware-Bytes Anti-Malware using latest definitions. Kaspersky Anti-Virus causes the device to self-reboot for some weird reason.
As regards the fingerprint scanner, it is accurate and fast enough. Not the fastest neither the slowest. It is possible to use it to control the UI, something that can be choosen from the Fingerprint settings.
Review (part 2)
Benchmarks
I have used 3DMark, AndroBench, Antutu Benchmark, Epic Citadel, GeekBench 4, GFXBench, PCMark (Work 2.0, Computer Vision, Storage & Work 1.0) and Vellamo to stress the device to the limit. I won’t test Games or Video Playback because there are already some related tests included in these Benchmark suites.
3DMark – MT6750T (Mali-T860MP2 GPU) + HD+ screen = pretty good 3D performance. Way higher compared to FHD alternatives.
AndroBench – Excellent I/O Performance, an high-quality eMMC has been used. One of the fastest found on a MT6750T device.
Antutu Benchmark – I won’t say a lot about this benchmark, this isn’t as reliable as others. I’m providing this just for benchmarks lovers.
Epic Citadel – Excellent result for a mid-range SOC, really enjoyable games on this device.
GeekBench – Of course the HD+ res. doesn't improve CPU performance, similar to other MT6750T devices and enough for most basic tasks.
CPU
Compute
GFXBench – The same thoughts written for the 3DMark benchmark are valid also for this one.
PCMark – Overall high scores, still impressive Storage performance also here.
Work 2.0
Computer Vision
Storage
Work 1.0
Vellamo – Weird result for the Chrome Browser test, really low for some reason, while other scores are just fine similar to other MT6750T devices.
Conclusions
As a device meant to compete directly with other 6 inches alternatives, this is absolutely not a bad one. Sure, HOMTOM could have used better antennas or a better rear camera sensor, but it is impressively complete and well-made.
If the company releases an OTA Update with up-to-date Android Security Patches and, hopefully, some improvements to the camera software, it might differentiate itself from others. In the current status though, it is just a reasonably good device with some minor flaws.
Do i recommend it? Yes, unless you are looking for a more ergonomic alternative.
Pros:
Excellent Build Quality
Decent Screen Quality
RGB Notification LED
Solid Performance
Nice Design
Cons:
Camera Software needs to be improved
No Magnetometer/Compass & Gyroscope
Outdated Android Security Patches
Lower than average signal reception (GPS/WiFi/4G)
Low Pixel Density due to the HD+ only res.

That'll be fantastic. I've just been given this phone as smashed my other and I must say, its not a bad phone really, quite heavy but at least I know its in my pocket & know ive not lost it.
I'd love to get root on it but not use to rooting MTK devices so some easy clear instructions would be great. I tried the one in OP but with my lack of understanding of these devices, I couldn't get it done. Some places mention mtk tools program, but I really don't want to jump straight into it & mess the phone up.

Thanks, I seen that & that's where I meant to post, sorry. Yh, its say twrp not available but has SuperSU & magisk flashable through twrp, does mean we can't root safely yet until we have twrp?
I'm not too fussed about TWRP tbh, just want root to block ads & use Substratum. Can Mtk tool for PC root this phone?
Edit: I will read up more on mtk devices anyway as new to me. I'm use to flashing Samsung phones etc but not this one.
