Hello,
I have a note 8 aswell GT-N5100 though and it has a bootloader from china, but i just managed to flash it with samsungs current STOCK ROM for poland.
First i would ask what error is odin3 giving..? If you already tried flashing please download the UK ROM for your GT-N5110 from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ follow the instructions on the sight to update your device via odin3..
If it stops at modem.bin like mine did then follow the instructions on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2626778 to root your device. The minute you root it it will reboot and that's it..
Welcome to KIT-KAT
Hope this helps

help with att galaxy s3
i bricked my galaxy s3 i747 and using enewman17s method here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
I downloaded the mk5 file from another one of his posts, and with that download it gives me multiple folders and a boot.img.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, the phone is actually up and running now, but the main problem i have found with it is that the sound is not working at all and videos dont want to play. Do i need the files in those folders and the .img file to make everything work properly? any other information can be provided and all is welcomed thank you.

Did you brick you phone while on 4.0? How did you brick it?
No the device is virgin non rooted, new out of the box and unlocked, I want it to be 4.3 unrooted and unlocked

What is the model? In Canada, the s3 is the i747m. In the USA, the s3 is i747. The i747m bootloader and modem cannot be flashed on a i747.

What bootloader is on your phone? You need to confirm that before proceeding. If you have a 4.4.2 bootloader and you use the 4.3 restore procedure, you could brick your phone.

Yes, that is 4.3. Make sure you read the instructions very carefully. Flashing is always risky and there is always a chance that you wind up bricking the phone.

Yes, but any more risky than flashing to the Carbon rom I just loaded?
Normally, flashing custom ROMs such as Liquid and Carbon do not flash a modem or bootloader. If something goes wrong, you can boot back into recovery and re-flash or flash a different ROM.
Flashing a stock ROM desktop Odin usually includes a modem and bootloader change. I believe changing the bootloader is the most crucial part to get right.
Hi there, first time poster and I want to thank the OP for the great efforts, write up and support!
I have a rooted ATT SGH-i747 that OTA soft-bricked on the way to 4.4.3 - I was able to get the phone back up and working with the 4.3 .zip and ODIN 3.7 following your thread, and then restored most of my data - but now my phone won't connect to 4G, it's wifi only, and Baseband version is "unknown"
I am assuming I should continue to update to 4.4.2 but I don't want to do further damage...
Any advice on how I can get back on ATT 4G or what my next move should be?
FWIW, I have CWM and TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery -v5 installed on external SD

Is the baseband still unknown? If it is, you should determine the bootloader installed on your phone. Sounds like a mismatch between the bootloader and modem.
Thanks bro you just saved my life and my fone's life

If it wasn't complete it wouldn't pass the md5 check in Odin.
I always use FDM (Free download manager) to download and have never had an issue.
You need to use Internet Explorer and click through the links as normal (no right clicking) for FDM to pick it up.

here is a screen shot of the error in odin
The firmware is fine it passes the md5 hash check.
The problem is either the wrong firmware or your bootloader is locked or doesn't allow downgrades.
As a hunch I'd say the wrong firmware for your device, try a t705 firmware instead if t705w.

thank you for your time ashyx I have tried everything like different firmwares, different odin, different computer but all the same results. I think the bootloader is locked. the only firmware I could flash using odin is the last lollipop and all kitkat failed. I think I might sell it and buy an international model instead.

In order to root you have to go back to lollipop. Here is the link from hsbadr to tell you all you need. If you follow the instructions carefully you shouldn't have any problems.

Try 3.12 or the newest build (i used 3.12 on my sisters note 4 and my own it was newest when i dl select AP when prompted in odin flash bpa1. That should get you to stock 5.1.1. Then attempt temp root, bootloader unlock, twrp with same odin,SELINUX permissive kernel @ supersu flash via twelve after u have unlocked and confirmed this by seeing unlocked lock on first splash and your phone should be in bootloop til you flash permissive kernel. You also cannot have the sdcard used to backup your boot loader (ever!!!! Unless you format. Device will try read old CID on card)

I tried it too and it didn't work, I dont think you can flash whole Verizon stock firmware using odin to 910t, what you gotta do first install twrp once you get that done then flash Verizon ROM, if you could and see if that fixes your issues
if you are just looking to install baseband, modem etc then try this first to install this Partial Verizon stock firmware using odin
N910VVRU2CQL1_PartialFirmware_DevEd.tar.md5
https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=28233
this will update those if you can install these to your 910t then you should be fine?
also in one post you said you have 910V phone and you want 910T rom and now you are saying you got 910T phone and want to run 910V stock?? which of which you have??

Since you have Verizon note 4 you have to unlock the bootloader first using this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...t/howto-bootloader-unlock-upgrade-to-t3398144
once you do that then you can install the TWRP, once you install TWRP then you can load that rom which I sent you earlier without any issues, but as I said follow that guide and unlock your bootloader and then go from there, if you can't do that then there is no other way you can do it
