So, I have the AT&T Note 4, I believe it is stuck on 5.0.1 because I can't get it to do anything, and anytime I try to update it, it says that it currently up-to-date...I really don't want to have to wait for Odin files, nor do I have the time to do so... Anyone have any clue? Preparing to call AT&T this weekend.. Hopefully I'll get the marshmallow update soon! :good::good: If anybody has any ideas, let me know, and anyone having this issue could also get it resolved..

Hi all,
I'm still having issues getting my AT&T Note to update from 4.1 to 4.4. I'd previously had it unlocked and rooted, but even after undoing that all, it fails on update. A few kind helpers on here gave some tricks to try out based around where it might be failing in the process (ie which specific file was causing the problem) but that hasn't worked either. I haven't looked into it for well over a month, so I thought I'd check back in.
Any hope for a ROM that can just be applied using odin?
Thanks!
hope you find one, if true please let know
I havent read anything on anyone officially trying to load Sprints firmware on the W8 version and rooting, and wanted to see if anyone has done it.
I cant stand not having a rooted phone.
Is it safe to try, in the event that something messes up, I can revert with W8 firmware via Odin? Does the Sprint firmware erase partitions?
Go check the Canadian note 7 discussion. People are actively using the exploit as we speak.
Sent from my note 7, my pixel C or my oneplus 3 depending on how I'm feeling!
Okay so I know that I am supposed to be giving my original note 7 back but I just can't, there isn't any other devices that I can live with for another year. So I'm just going to hold off till the s8 comes out and I'll give the note 7 back then. Okay with that out of the way, I am trying to root the note, I download all the files from the guys here at xda and I followed every step as they said. But every time I run the tar with Odin it fails and I don't understand why. Could it be the forced update I got not to long ago, the update that sends this nagging message about the recall every time I charge the phone . Could that be the reason because it's a different firmware that the original? Please help if you can I really want root and because the note isn't getting any updates I figured why note. I have rooted all the devices I have had in the past, note 5, 4, s4 so this isn't my first time but I've never had this much trouble. Thanks

Hello. I was in your spot before and I can give you some tips or information that helped me and should help you.
•I was able to get some security updates for my AT&T Note 4 by waiting a couple days to check for updates, clearing cache, then rebooting the phone with WiFi turned off. Then I would go and try to check for an update while my AT&T data was on then try with my WiFi on if it didn't work. If it doesn't work, try again after a few days. Believe it or not, something simple as that can fix it. It worked for me.
•If that doesn't work, you can try the Samsung Kies application for PC to try and download then apply an update to the phone.
•if those two do not work you can also try to download the Stock Android Marshmallow AT&T firmware and update your Note 4 through the phone recovery. Make sure you have all the appropriate Lollipop updates installed and make sure you download the correct Base Stock AT&T Note 4 Android Marshmallow file. (I am not responsible for any bricks. If you go this route, make sure you read everything and double check information).
~I hope this information could help you! ~
