Hello, I
is there any Honor 7 stock call recorder apk that we can download into our PLK-L01?
It seems that Honor 7 Chinese version had a build-in call recorder.
Hope you can help to find it

It´s a bit messy to install stock recorder. You have to fiddle with build.prop file.
I used Boldbeast and ACR and they work just fine, loud and clear.

Thank you for your reply.
I used ACR before, but I can only hear my voice. The other end voice are very low and I need to increase the high volume when playing it back.
This is when i'm using recording m4a format.
Would there be any different if i choose AMR instead? What would you recommend or do you have any tweak around?

My settings are:
Start recording - Manual
Audio source - Voice call
Recording format - 3GP
Note that settings may vary depending if you are at a KK ROM (B1xx) or a MM ROM (B3xx).
I can hear both voices loud and clear.

I just done testing all the format. Seems like it is not very good from the other end. I have 2 phone and easy for me to do the testing.
Thank you for introducing me to another alternative, Boldbeast.
With Boldbeast ver 8.6 which i tested just now, works like charm. Tested using AMR format and WAV. Both perfectly recorded. Playback from another end are very clear.
If you familiar with Boldbeast, I would like to ask:
When the recording is done, i can find it easily by seeing the date. Unfortunately, the file did not change to caller name. It only shows "Unknown"
Do you know how to change it? I saw the Playstore sample - it goes by the caller name.

Yes, I confirmed by go to Settings - Apps - Boldbeast Recorder - Permissions -
* Contacts
* Microphone
* Phone
* Storage has been set to enable
Im not sure why it is still not showing the name. Even after reboot twice + uninstall the app - reinstall back. Result is the same.
Perhaps the rom compatibility?

They'll never consider a 5.5 screen normal in any way.. It should have best the Note 2 but that's just my opinion.
Most people love my phone but the first reaction is always the size.
Maybe the mixed up the g with the g pro..

What's that third category? The only one in which the OG Pro doesn't score "Excellent."

The LG Optimus G Pro's is an appealing alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Note II. It allows you to perform many of the Note II's fancy tricks, including jotting down memos and annotating photos, with your finger instead of a stylus that can be easily lost. Its high-scoring, richly featured camera is another plus.
Highs
• Superb 5.5-inch, high-definition display with excellent quality
• Display and keypad are easy to see in bright light
• Many tools help you access and share content you create and capture on your phone
• Top-notch ease of use, messaging, Web browsing, and battery life
• Excellent e-mail readability and attachment capabilities, including document editing
• Supports both types of AT&T's "4G" network (LTE and HSPA+)
• Camera produced very good quality pictures
• Allows you to launch apps such as a camera, messages, or phone directly from a locked screen
• Can snap a still image while recording a video
• Front-facing camera facilitates video chats and self-portraits
• Supports wireless technology that allows you to pay at store registers with your phone
• Uses versatile Android operating system, with access to many apps and services
Lows
• Larger and heavier than many of the smart phones we've tested
• Holding this large phone up to your face for a phone conversation may be awkward
• Accessing apps and features is easy, but often requires two hands
• Fair voice quality when listening
• Lacks a physical button for quick phone access, and its virtual keypad makes it hard to enter a number without looking
• Lacks Flash video
• Memory card is hard to access
Detailed test results
The LG Optimus G Pro is essentially a supersized version of the Optimus G, packing an excellent-quality 5.5-inch, high-definition (1080p), touch-screen display in a relatively thin case. In addition, the display is easy to see in bright light. The phone's giant screen invites comparisons to the popular Samsung Galaxy Note II. While it lacks the Note II's stylus and the floating-preview options that come with it, it compensates with other capabilities. These include Quick Memo, a pull-down menu option app that lets you use your finger to scribble notes on anything you see on the phone's screen, from photos, e-mails, and calendar appointments to the home screen itself. The finished "memo" actually becomes a picture that you can easily e-mail or text to others, as well as share on social networks. In Smart screen mode, the front-facing camera monitors your eyes while you're reading a Web page or other document to prevent the screen from timing out. Also onboard is Video Wiz, an app that can quickly turn a tossed salad of video clips, photos, and sound clips into a polished multimedia presentation. The QSlide feature makes videos float transparently behind other apps on the screen so that you can perform other tasks, such as send a text or browse the Web. The Optimus G Pro has an IR blaster and its QuickRemote app, like a universal remote, can be programmed to control compatible TVs, set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, and more. The camera has some intriguing features as well. For example, when you use the main camcorder's digital zoom to zero in on one or two subjects in a group, the camera's microphone subltly increases the volume of the voices of those subjects while diminishing the sounds made outside the frame. Also, you can capture video simultaneously on the front and rear cameras, allowing you to appear, as an inset, within the video image recorded by the phone's main, rear-facing camera. The idea is to allow the shooter to be part of the video. You can easily move the inset anywhere on the phone's display, as well as resize it. Its Live Effects feature lets you select from a variety of visual effects when recording video, such as silly faces including big mouth, big eyes, small eyes, and more. Additionally, you can take a picture by just saying "cheese," and the Time catch feature takes a group of photos just before you press the shutter. Another feature is VuTalk, which lets you collaborate on hand-written messages and drawings real-time between Optimus G Pro users while on a call. But holding the phone while on a call or performing other one-handed operations is difficult on this slab, which measures a seam-busting 5.9 by 3.0 by 0.4 inches and weighs a hefty 6 ounces. But you can shrink the dial pad and keyboard and slide them to either side of the phone's screen to bring them closer to your thumbs in portrait mode.
The Optimus G Pro provides easy access to all main functions via a highly responsive touch screen that supports three home screens of apps, programmable shortcuts, and a home button flanked by menu and back keys. Pressing and holding the home key launches a stack of screen shots of your most recently used apps, search, and the task manager. Tap any one of them, and you can jump to that app. For convenient visual cues, the Home Button LED shows different colors and patterns for events such as new messages, missed calls, and calendar reminders. The Quick Button on the left side of the phone gives you direct access to QuickMemo, though you can program it to other apps. The Optimus G Pro provides a straightforward way to add apps, widgets, or change wallpaper. You simply press and hold a blank spot on the screen to summon a Lazy Susan-style buffet of home screens, apps, widgets and other customization options. You can also launch the phone, messaging, browser, email, or camera app directly from a locked screen without the need to first unlock the screen. You do this by swiping upward on any one of app icons that are visible on the locked screen.
The Optimus G Pro lets you perform Google searches by voice command, and lets you download applications, services, and games, and more from the Google Play Store. Its multi-touch screen lets you zoom in and out of photos or Web pages using two fingers (for instance, your thumb and index finger). It also has a handy on-screen drop-down status bar that alerts you to and takes you to new messages, upcoming appointments, and other items that need your attention, even when your screen is locked. Its Android OS offers better text editing tools and controls for managing data usage, and enhanced voice-activated navigation and dictation. The Optimus G Pro supports both types of AT&T's "4G" network (LTE and HSPA+), allowing faster streaming, downloading, and uploading of high-definition videos and other large files. The faster network also facilitates better Web browsing experiences. The Optimus G Pro supports Near Field Communication (NFC), a short-range wireless communication technology that allows the phone to read "smart" tags, or other items that have NFC capability in them. Though the technology is not yet widely deployed for mobile phone users, it could ultimately allow you to pay by phone at the register. The Wi-Fi connection provides another way to access the Web, e-mail, and other Internet-based content, without using your data plan allowance. But this model lacks Flash video.
MESSAGING: The virtual keyboard was excellent to use. It features five rows (a rarity among phones) with dedicated keys for numbers across the top row. It supports a method that allows users to type words without lifting a finger--literally. You enter a word by dragging your finger across the screen from letter to letter. Though it's initially awkward to use, we eventually had a lot of success "typing" quickly and accurately. This phone comes with common preset text messages, and also allows you to create custom preset text messages for your individual special situations or frequent use. Excellent e-mail readability and attachment capabilities. If you tilt the phone on its side while viewing e-mail (wide-screen mode), you see a split-view mode. The window on the left shows the e-mail list, and the window on the right shows the selected e-mail. You can adjust the size of the windows, and you can turn off the split-view mode to see the e-mail full-screen. This phone allows you to edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets out of the box, which can come in handy when working on the go. The Optimus G Pro also supports Microsoft Exchange and Outlook for work e-mail. When connected to Windows or Macintosh computers, this phone can appear on the computer as another drive. You can then transfer data to and from your phone as you could on a regular drive.
PHONE: We tested this phone under a variety of conditions to simulate environments ranging from the quiet indoors to noisy roadsides. We found very good voice quality when talking, though only fair when listening. Talk time was an ample 13.25 hours. This phone has a very good mixture of controls and features for making and taking calls. Excellent keypad readability under most lighting conditions, even in bright light. Its voice command allows you to conveniently dial numbers from your phone book by speaking the name, without the usual training. You can also dial numbers by pronouncing the digits. It has Bluetooth for wireless hands-free voice communication. This model can simultaneously be on a phone call and an Internet-based connection over the cellular network. Can be used internationally. But this model lacks a physical button for quick phone access, and its virtual keypad makes dialing difficult without looking. Auto answer doesn't work with headset.
MULTIMEDIA: The 13-megapixel camera has a very short shutter lag, and produced very good-quality pictures at ISO settings up to 400. Camera has a flash, autofocus, manual ISO settings, face detection, and can record HD video. Its touch focus feature lets you override the autofocus by tapping on any subject on the screen. You can even take a picture by just saying "cheese." And its Time catch feature takes a group of photos just before you press the shutter. The camera's flash and ISO-setting controls help improve your chances of taking better pictures under low-light conditions. Its face detection comes in handy when you're snapping pics of babies, toddlers, or other fussy subjects. You can also snap a still picture at any moment while shooting a video. The camera took decent 1080p video, probably adequate for casual use such as uploading to the Web. The front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera allows easy self-portraits, and can support video chats. It can also record at 1080p.
The music player has the capabilities and controls of a typical stand-alone MP3 player, including an equalizer, music shuffle and repeat controls and options for sorting music by album, artist, etc. This model also supports Bluetooth stereo headsets, and can download music over the phone network. Its Bluetooth data support enables the phone to wirelessly share pictures, contacts, and other files with compatible printers, computers, and mobile devices.
GPS navigation capability provides spoken turn-by-turn directions and automatic re-routing. The Optimus G Pro supports the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) standard and Miracast protocol. This lets the phone connect via Wi-Fi to share content with other compatible certified devices such as a TV, printer, and computer. The Optimus G Pro can act as a mobile hotspot for up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices. It has 32GB of built-in memory, and supports memory cards of up to 64GB. Its memory capacity is beneficial for storing music, videos, pictures, and other types of files. But the memory card is hard to access.
About This Brand
LG has recently introduced several promising new devices, including the Optimus G series. The Optimus G has a brilliant 4.7 inch display, long-lasting battery, and offers an impressive blend of top-notch hardware and intriguing Apps for work and play--including Quick Memo, a pulldown-menu option that let's you use your finger to scribble notes on anything you see on the phone's screen, from photos, email, and calendar appointments to the home screen. Other notable phones include the Nitro HD, Spectrum II, Viper, and Intuition.

The note II was ranked higher? It only has half the specs of this phone.
Current Devices:
LG Optimus G Pro (LG-E980)
HP Touchpad (Tenderloin)
Previous Devices:
Samsung Galaxy SII (SGH-i777)
Pantech Burst (P9070)
One could argue that it does have a physical phone button. You just need to set that quick access button to phone.

Consumer reports should stick to cars and refrigerators. They know nothing at all about tablets, smartphones, or commuters.

!!! PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE PROCEEDING !!!
My goal for this application was to create a more flexible camera solution for LG phones. The camera hardware itself is very capable, but LG didn't necessarily take full advantage of it with their software. This app extends the capabilities of the camera and offers increased control/quality.
This is ONLY for stock or stock-based firmware (the version of Android that LG provides)...not AOSP/CM/etc.
If you are looking for instructions on using the XCam LG Settings donation app, see the 2nd post.
If you are a developer or have a rooted device and are interested in the advanced camera driver/binaries I have created, see the 3rd post.
This is for Android 4.4.x and higher. If you are looking for older 4.2.x versions of my camera mod see the 4th post.
Installation:
Make sure you have turned on the option for "Unknown Sources" under Settings > General > Security.
First you need to decide which version of the apk to download onto your phone. If you are using a 100% stock unrooted G2 you will choose the appropriate G2 Stock version. If you are currently using a rom that has the advanced driver (ask in your rom's thread, not here) you will choose the appropriate G2 Advanced version. If you are rooted, are running KitKat and ONLY and wish to add the 4kUHD video mode you can flash (via twrp) a modified media_profiles.xml file and install the G2 UHD KitKat version.
XCam LG - for G2 Stock KK
XCam LG - for G2 Stock LP
XCam LG - for G2 Advanced KK
XCam LG - for G2 Advanced LP
XCam LG - for G2 UHD KK
When the download has finished, pull down your notification tray and select the file. If you can't find it, go to "Downloads" listed in your app drawer and select the file from there. This will start the install process.
If you wish to support development and gain additional functionality, please consider purchasing the XCam LG Settings app from the play store HERE. For details on the options within this companion app, see the 2nd post.
Due to changes Google made starting with Android 4.4.x, if you want to save photos to your external SD Card you will need to install and run NextApp's SDFix (requires root access). After you restart your phone the external option should work without issue.
Due to limitations of the stock LG G2 camera driver, the 120fps (slow-motion) video is VERY dark. If your device is rooted you can install the advanced driver packge (3rd post) that I put together which has a higher iso ceiling for this mode and adds other enhancements/features.

FAQ:
Why won't XCam 6.x install on my device?
If you're running ART on Android 4.4.x, XCam 6.x won't work. In order to make XCam compatible with the official ART included with Android 5.0.x, changes were needed that make it incompatible with the unofficial/beta implementation included with KitKat. XCam 6.x will work perfectly with the official KitKat runtime (dalvik), however. If you want to run ART on KitKat, you can still use the latest 5.x branch apk.
Will this work on AOSP?
No. This camera requires framework/driver support that is only in the stock LG firmware.
Will you ever make it work on AOSP?
Though I won't say "never", I will say it's highly unlikely. Asking this question repeatedly makes it less likely.
Why doesn't my screen turn on with the Vol- longpress when this is the default camera app?
This is due to LG hard-coding the package reference in their framework. XCam LG itself has the capability but your firmware will need to be modified to point to the new package. I have given some of the details on what to look for HERE.
Why are the 60 and 120 fps video modes progressively darker?
This is due to the nature of light & photography. An increase in frame rate means a faster effective shutter speed...which also means less light getting to the sensor per frame.
Why doesn't the 60 fps video mode always shoot at 60 fps?
LG's camera driver decides when the ambient lighting is high enough to allow 60fps. All the camera app can do is request it, so it's out of my control.
Why isn't the 120fps mode in slow-motion and why does it look pixelated?
All "slow-motion" modes do is record video at a much higher framerate (in this case 120fps) so that when you play it back at a more standard 30fps everything appears to move slowly while still maintaining a smooth framerate. It is up to your video playback app whether or not it supports this. If you want to permanently alter the video to play back at a slower framerate, it will need to be re-encoded at that speed. As for the pixelization/lower-res quality of this mode, that is because LG's (and other OEM's) implementation of these higher-framerate videos entails upscaling from a lower-resolution to 720p.
Why don't I have a saturation slider in the settings app?
As mentioned in the settings app's play store description, this isn't available on all devices/drivers. LG removed this capability from the G Pro 2 (which the G2 Advanced KitKat driver is based on) and the G3.
Why are the icons overlapping/misaligned and why is the preview not filling the whole screen?
This is because you changed the default screen density/dpi for your device, which throws off the UI layout. To resolve this, you can either use the freely available App Settings xposed module to force XCam to stock (480) or modify the apk yourself using the files I have posted here as a guide. I will not be supporting these mods, however, so do not ask questions about how to make the changes or use apktool in the thread.

Control other camera features such as the audio noise Gate, automatic night mode, focus Lock/video recording sounds, etc.
Redesigned icon
Sports mode now set at min 1/30 shutter speed
Version 5.0.0:
Initial release of completely new app
NEW Lightframe/flash mode for front camera
NEW Sports mode revamped
Set at min 1/24 shutter speed
For now, if you don't open the camera in Sports mode, you will need to toggle between IA mode and back to Sports to enable this faster shutter (you can also toggle between video and back)
Normal mode now bypasses the automatic switch to night mode in low light (and the corresponding multi-frame smoothed/nr photo).

Devs: Due to the fact that this mod is available as a normal apk install, there is no need for and I do not authorize it to be included in ANY roms/firmware. It creates confusion for people installing it and fragments any reporting of problems. You can direct them to this thread to install the latest version. Please feel free to use the binaries/driver packages I have created, however. If you do so, you must put a credit in your OP. Though it should go without saying, I do not approve of any use/copying of the code/methods contained herein for your own app/mod.

!!! PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE PROCEEDING !!!
The XCam LG Settings app provides something extra for those who choose to donate and support development. It allows on-the-fly configuration for many aspects of the camera that were previously unavailable.
This is ONLY for stock or stock-based firmware (the version of Android that LG provides)...not AOSP/CM/etc.
Installation:
Download the latest version of XCam LG Settings from the Google Play Store HERE. This will start the install process.
If you want to test early releases, join the XCam LG Settings Google+ community and then follow the link found there to become a tester.

Usage:
Image Control:
Quality: Change the jpeg compression level from 0 (high compression/small file size) to 100 (lowest compression/largest file size)
Contrast: Change the pre-processing contrast level from 0 (lowest) to 10 (highest)
Saturation: Change the pre-processing saturation level from 0 (greyscale) to 10 (highly saturated). This option is not available on all devices/drivers.
Sharpness: Change the pre-processing sharpness level from 0 (lowest) to 36 (highest)
Shutter Control:
Burst/IA/Night/Normal/Sports: Change the minimum shutter speed for the corresponding shotmode. This is useful if you want to capture faster-moving subjects in lower light situations and don't want the camera to automatically shift to it's slowest possible shutter speed (~ 1/7 sec). Keep in mind that increasing this speed obviously means darker photos. Some interesting results can be achieved by leaving "Auto Night Mode" (described in next section) enabled while setting the minimum shutter speed of Normal mode to 1/30. The multiple exposures of night mode and the corresponding noise reduction still kick in, but the focus time is improved. Due to edge issues these photos are best if cropped.
Bitrate Control:
Change the bitrate for UHD (if supported by your device), FHD60fps, FHD30fps, HD120fps (slo-mo), HD60fps, and HD30fps modes. NOTE :: You can only go as high as your firmware/rom allows for. NO app can override this. To change this, you'll have to edit the maxBitRate for the h264 encoder in your media_profiles.xml.
Photo options:
Auto Night Mode: Toggle the automatic drop into Night for the Normal shotmode ON/OFF.
Noise Reduction: Toggle photo wavelet noise reduction ON/OFF. This will work on many (but not all shotmodes)...Normal, Panorama, HDR (for LP), Night, and IA (for LP). NOTE :: Turning this off bypasses all post-processing. This includes sharpness, contrast, zoom, etc.
Normal Mode Raw: Toggle raw bayer mode ON/OFF for Normal shotmode. They will NOT have a preview image as your gallery app can't read them. The resulting files will have a .dng extension and will be in the /sdcard/DCIM/Camera/dng/ directory. You can use your file manager of choice to browse to this directory and open them with the free version of PhotoShop Express from the Play Store or view/edit them on your computer. The library I wrote to convert our camera's mipi raw to dng is based on ille's raspiraw binary, which in turn is based on sample code by Dave Coffin (creator of dcraw).
Chroma Flash: Toggle chroma flash ON/OFF (G2 Advanced KK driver and GPro2 KK only)
Focus Lock Sound: Toggle the sound heard when touch focus locks ON/OFF
Night Mode: Toggle the night shotmode availability under the mode button ON/OFF
Sports Mode: Toggle the sports shotmode availability under the mode button ON/OFF
Video options:
Continuous Focus: This is the default focus mode for video that adjusts continually based on both your and your subjects' movement. Turn it off to access the following mode
Fixed Focus: When continuous focus is OFF and this is ON, video mode will be set at a fixed/infinity focal point. When both continuous AND this is turned OFF, the focal point can be set while in photo mode and when you switch to video it will hold that focal point.
Audio Source: Select any of the available audio sources listed HERE. If you're looking for the equivalent of the previous Noise Gate Toggle, select Mic. This allows control over the sometimes objectionable "underwater audio" effect.
Stereo Mics: Toggle between stereo (ON) and mono (OFF) if supported by your device.
Audio Rec Check: Toggle the check for another app using the microphone ON/OFF. This can alleviate the "Cannot start recording while another application is using audio" message encountered when the "OK Google" Detection from any screen option is enabled under Google Now. Keep in mind that this is enabled for a reason, and that videos recorded while this check is bypassed may stutter slightly.
Recording Sound: Toggle the sound heard when starting/stopping video recording ON/OFF

LG G2 Advanced Camera Driver/Binary Package
!!! PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE PROCEEDING !!!
!!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS THAT OCCUR WHILE INSTALLING/USING THESE DRIVER/BINARY PACKAGES!!!
These are modified driver/binary packages for the LG G2. They provide performance and quality improvements as well as support for additional shot modes/features that were originally found in the LG G Pro 2.
This is ONLY for LG's stock or stock-based firmware (the version of Android that LG provides)...not AOSP/CM/etc.
Installation:
Peform a full nandroid backup.
If you haven't done step 1, you're on your own! Please don't post here asking what to do if something has gone wrong. If you have a backup, then you're safe.
Download and flash the appropriate package below. If you don't know what your rom/firmware is based on or if they have already included this driver, please contact the maintainer/dev before flashing.

Problems:
Get a full logcat that shows the error/problem. Here is an excellent tutorial on how to make one.
Post the logcat along with your full model name and rom version in the Q&A thread.
Restore your backup to get back to stock.
If you didn't make a backup, then unfortunately there's not much I can do to help. There are countless hw/sw combinations out there, and given the constantly changing number of files included in this mod it's not feasible for me to keep a catalog of them all.

Previous Versions
PREVIOUS VERSIONS
Changelog:
Version 1.0.0:
Based on Stock LG 4.3.1 Camera apk and stock libraries
Will not interfere with other Camera apps performance
Improved low-light photo performance/flexibility
Night mode slowest shutter speed of 1/6
Normal mode slowest shutter speed of 1/10
IA mode slowest shutter speed of 1/15
Improved low-light photo focus speed
Increased low-light video framerates
lowest rate of 24fps (movie quality) when 30fps target rate is selected
lowest rate of 15fps when 60fps target rate is selected so user still has option of capturing video in very low-light
Disabled regional checks so shutter sound "off" option is available to everyone.
JPEG compression/quality at 97
Version 1.1.0:
NEW HDR Video Mode
Select it from the MODE menu while in video recorder
Doesn't do the over-saturated thing the HDR photo mode does, but does increase micro contrast in uneven lighting environments.
Will only work in 30fps target mode. If you are in 60fps mode it will kick you down when you select HDR Recording.
NEW 1600 ISO Mode
Now you can set an ISO of 1600 manually, giving the Normal mode even more flexibility
Combining these settings with the brightness slider you can achieve even more variety, and the shutter speed still won't drop below 1/10.
I may bump the shutter speed of Normal mode further in the next version due to the expanded range it now has to take photos in low-light.
NEW 60fps 720p Mode
Just select it from the size dropdown list in Video Recorder
You still have the option of 720p @ 24-30fps as well.
File names should now be the date stamp for everyone.
I'm still looking into IA mode saving on exit. The other method posted in this thread doesn't work.
There may have been some other things, but those are the big ones for now
There's also an alternate version available that silences the record start/stop and focus sounds
Version 1.1.1:
Normal mode photos taken at lowest shutter speed (1/10) slightly improved quality due to bypassed (and unnecessary) processing
EXIF info now present on Normal photos taken in all environments
Version 1.2.0:
If your stock ROM has a codebase of 10 (i.e. D80210B), use the CB10 version
CAF pumping/breathing significantly reduced for stable frames.
Minor image quality improvements across the board.
Version 1.3.0:
NEW Anti-shaking Video setting
Turn it on/off from the settings menu while in video recorder
This is just EIS that can be added to the existing OIS
I'm not sure how effective it is as I haven't played with it much yet, but it's there if you want to
Videos have been brightened up across the board, and the minimum fps went to 30 from 24...including 60fps target mode.
Noise reduction has been toned down for videos and in normal photo mode. Less blur, more noise. It's a tradeoff.
Other minor things I have forgotten about
Version 1.3.1:
Fix for graphics glitches in v1.3.0
New version of Gallery app included (nothing much new that I can see though)
Sprint users should now be able to use the volume key to take a photo. LG had yet another weird check.
Version 1.4.0:
Make sure you are starting from your rom's stock files before installing this one.
If you didn't make a backup, you'll have to find your rom's source files on your own.
Back to xxhdpi apk base
New version of Gallery app included
Should be no more instances of media scanning error
Should be more compatible across variants, but if you are having an issue with yours, please see the section below for steps to follow if you have a problem.
There is no "alt" version for this release.
Version 1.5.0:
NEW Camera will save last photo/video mode you were in (IA, HDR, Night, etc.)
See the section below for steps to follow if you have a problem before posting in the thread.
Version 1.6.0:
Slight bump in sharpness (most noticeable in low-light fine detail)
For those that have been asking for larger photo file sizes, I succumbed and put jpeg comp at its lowest level. Not sure how much of a difference it makes in image quality, however.
Further reduced post-proc in Normal photo mode
NR limited to chroma channel only now. This obviously means you will notice more luma noise at higher iso.
Photo pixel format changed to YUV422. In theory this means better quality photos, but I don't think it makes a huge difference. Can't hurt though!
Forced storage menu in settings
Version 1.6.1:
NEW Video Player Modified to extend slowest and fastest playback speeds (x0.125 - x1.875)
Reverted YUV422 Setting. A bug in HDR pixel mapping math caused occasional glitches in post-proc
Version 2.0.6:
NEW 4kUHD and 120fps video recording modes
NEW Video Player Modified to extend slowest and fastest playback speeds (x0.125 - x1.875)
Version 2.1.0/2.1.1:
NEW Magic Focus Mode (for G Pro 2 Ported ROMs only)
Based on 4.6.16 G Pro 2 Camera apk
Version 2.2.0:
NEW Increased Panorama resolution (up to ~20K x 3K & 20MB)
Reduced post-proc for Normal mode photos
Removed HDR Video until I have more time to get it working on KK
Version 2.2.1:
NEW ART Support
Version 3.0.0:
NEW Full port of ALL G Pro 2 Features & Improvements for stock G2 KK
If you are running CloudyStock or CloudyFlex, you must flash the separate patch below after flashing the mod.
Version 3.1.0:
Improved slow-motion playback on G2 Stock ROMs (flash separate videoplayer zip)
All stock Rom-bases supported by single mod (G2, Flex, GPro)
Version 3.2.0:
Updated driver/libs
NOTE: If you are running CloudyFlex do not flash this version as one (or more) of the updated driver/lib files apparently are not compatible. I have spoken with Cloudy and when he has time we will look into it. Stick with v3.1.0 in the meantime.
Version 4.0.0:
Initial G3 Camera version...for G3 Ported roms ONLY
HDR mode fix
Added back 1080p @ 60fps video mode
Slightly bumped video bitrates
Updated driver/libs

question.. can you put the regional check back? I assume that's what makes the app look like each versions different one.. for example, I absolutely hate this ui compared to the Verizon ui. it's the reason I never used jishnus new experimental apk because the Black ui version blows. lol

WOW dude your intelligent auto is amazing. holy hell. it focuses SO FAST! howcome the regular mode doesn't, because of the higher iso? my god. it focuses so fast in low light, then when the flash comes in its super fast, and it takes pictures so much quicker. IA mode rocks now. wow.
Sent from my Verizon LG G2 using Tapatalk Pro
I should be able to do that, but I think most people preferred the new UI, so I'll just do a one-off for you. I'll send you a pm when I have it ready.
THAT VIEWFINDER. in IA, there's no lag. it's amazing. is there a way you can do that with normal mode?

thanks! hey I'll get used to it though dude, it's ok. I just liked how the white version had customizable side buttons but I'll always be using ia mode on this now.. damn.

I could, but then you'd have slightly darker photos in normal mode. I tried to space things out so people had variety, but if you want that for your version let me know. If it turns out everyone prefers that I can make it the norm

all I've gotta say is you're kickin ass so far here lol. I love ia mode because of that super super fast zoom. good thinking on having that variety.
when it comes to suggestion, I think you're rocking the camera portion. I did have one, but then I forgot what it was. oops lol.
for the video camera, the only suggestions are what I'm sure you're already looking at... the crappy auto focus issue and perhaps creating a "set focus" method so we can tap to focus on a spot and it holds that focus area and doesn't continually auto focus.
the other for video is the audio from recording.. as I'm sure you're aware, the g2 suffers from the fate the old htc rezound did, in that the audio has that horrible underwater sound to it. the s3 and s4 and even dna overcame these crappy audio issues, but the g2 is still pretty bad.

here's one.. is there a way to default it to starting in IA mode? it always goes back to normal.
Sent from my Verizon LG G2 using Tapatalk Pro
can this default the IA mode?
Thanks for the feedback! I am working on the focus (breathing) issue for the video. My first task is to make it less sensitive to changes, then I'll see about enabling an auto focus lock. It should be possible. The camera api allows for it, at least.
I'll take a look at the audio as well. My guess is an overactive noise reduction.

It can be done. I may enable saving of many settings after exiting the app besides size if enough people are interested.
How can I set the IA mode is the default when starting Camera app?

Yes please! most of us are liking your IA changes here! haha.
I noticed the framerate of the IA mode changes... sometimes in the dark it's really fast, but in good lighting is slower. kinda odd lol.
and yeah I agree about the overactive noise reduction for the crappy audio. and awesome to hear you're working on the video focus!!

and please add the filename structure, not just increment number for filename, can you make the file name create by the date and time?
Sprint Version
Awesome work!
I'm enjoying your tweak of the camera.
Just a few minor things I noticed while using it on the Sprint variant.
1. The capture option using the volume down is broken.
One has to select the zoom out - / zoom in + on the volume.
I like using the volume down as a the shutter key.
Also, like someone else requested. Is there a way to automatically have IA be the default mode.
The same as editing out the video RECORDING Mode
Long Video / MMS video.
I think most of us who use the video feature will be to use the full frame capabilities.
so xdabbeb, I presume you set a super long exposure for low light on ia mode right? noticed the shutter stays open for a really long time with the flash on in ia. not a problem really, but ya just have to stand still in lower light and hope your subjects do too.
Sent from my Verizon LG G2 using Tapatalk Pro
I guess that depends on your definition of long. It's actually a faster shutter speed than stock. I set IA mode so that it couldn't go any slower than 1/15. If you take a photo with flash, it should lower the iso, but it won't go any slower with the shutter. Check the exif details on the image and you'll see what I mean. I can always make it even faster if that's what people want, but the images will be darker.
@robfactory can you tell me what model and Rom you're using. The volume button works as a shutter for mine, but there may be a problem on other variants.
@emprize I thought it always used the date. Mine are, at least. What are your file names?
It would be nice if you could work with Jishnu and make a mod that combines both the benefit. Then the G2's camera will really be kick-ass. Good job by the way!

About LineageOS:
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the Suicide Squirrel Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, do not hesitate to submit patches.

Not yet. SELinux works by blocking access to different components to your phone (e.g. access to the camera) unless we specify otherwise in sepolicies. We haven't built those yet so the experience will be completely broken as all functions (including basic ones like turning on the screen once it has been locked) will be blocked and therefore won't work
It's on our to-do list though

Thanks for checking it out - 1080p is also working for me - only UHD 4K is not working.
So I installed this on my phone. Installation itself went well - I wiped everything and formatted data, then flashed LOS, GApps, and Magisk.
Some issues I've run into so far:
1. Cannot connect to my 5GHz AC WiFi. (The 2GHz Wireless-N network connects fine - Edit: Seems to be AC-Only mode that is the problem. If I set it to AC/N Mix or N-Only it connects fine.)
Code:
06-21 01:57:45.295 5273 5273 I wpa_supplicant: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-ASSOC-REJECT bssid=b0:7f:b9:9c:90:48 status_code=18
06-21 01:57:45.296 5273 5273 I wpa_supplicant: wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-SSID-TEMP-DISABLED id=0 ssid="My WiFi SSID"
auth_failures=1 duration=10 reason=CONN_FAILED
06-21 01:57:45.425 990 7124 I WifiService: getWifiEnabledState uid=1000
06-21 01:57:45.434 990 5121 I WifiService: getConfiguredNetworks uid=1000
06-21 01:57:45.452 990 2081 D WifiStateMachine: Assocation Rejection event: bssid=b0:7f:b9:9c:90:48 reason code=18 ti
medOut=false
This worked fine in AOSCP Nougat. It's still possible this is just a problem on my end - I will keep messing with it.
2. GCams so far all seem to crash immediately once I've granted permissions. (Tried GCMod5, Pixel2Mod, and Snapdragon Camera)
3a. Video recording with the included camera does work, but framerate is pretty poor at 1080p. It's better at 720p, but not perfect.
3b. OpenCamera cannot record if I enable Camera2 API still, and seems to perform about as well as the included camera if I disable it.
3c. Cinema FV-5 does nothing when I tap the Record button, even with Compatibility mode enabled
It's an improvement that the included camera app can record video, but a step backwards that GCams all seem to crash immediately now. They were never all that stable in Nougat, but better than this.
4. HD video playback still has issues. I've tried this in YouTube and Twitch so far.
- 480p or below works fine
- 720p (30fps) seems to work ok
- 1080p (30fps) stutters a little bit but overall seems to be ok too now
- 1440p (30fps) stutters a lot, slow playback rate.
- 720p (60fps) video plays then freezes, then plays, then freezes, repeat
- 1080p (60fps) video freezes and largely does not play at all.
Audio is always fine, it's just video that has issues.
Video Playback's not perfect yet, but it's an improvement over my experience on AOSCP Nougat
I have yet to attempt any calling, bluetooth, or GPS. I'll update this post as I do more things. I have not installed Greenify or Amplify yet - I want to see how battery life is without anything like that initially.
Otherwise so far so good. Thank you to everyone for your efforts on this! I never imagined my G4 would ever go beyond rooted LP or unrooted MM, much less be on LOS Oreo. Please let me know if there is anything in particular I can provide to help troubleshoot.
Update 1:
- No ability to edit my APNs. The default ones from my SIM were detected and work, but I don't have the option to add new ones.

doing a crash log may help:
Code:
adb shell
su
logcat -b all -c (will clear the log)
[I]now: let cam crash[/I]
logcat -d -b all > /cache/camcrash.txt
adb pull /cache/camcrash.txt
paste that camcrash.txt to http://bpaste.net
consider to do the same for your WiFi issue..

Also, I sent you a PM with the logs you requested.
@vsTerminus; @bdasmith; @steadfasterX:
I was on the V20X from Fido/Rogers as well but ...
- Have had no issues at all connecting to 5.0 GHz. WIFI
- Video recording in 1080p with the stock camera app does not seem to present any issues for me on my phone and the recorded videos play well.
- Cinema FV5 video recording is still working extremely well for me with legacy camera driver and the recorded videos play very well.
- I too have experienced problems with all but one of many modded Google cam apps I have tested - camera either closes immediately after allowing permissions or if loads presents a black screen, crashes on video app switch etc. I have put this down at least partially that a lot of these mods are prepared on or for different phones and may be using the blobs from their originally stalled camera apps.
- 1080p and UHD 4K videos are playing very well in YouTube on my phone.
Note: Experiencing as of the June 19th H812 build, much better sim card recognition now - as good as I had on AOSCP N it seems - not getting anywhere so far the failure to load or the complete drop-offs I was experiencing on the previous H811 build I had installed.

Cinema FV-5 is working for me now, but it performs about as well as the included camera app does.
Put the camera on Video mode but don't start recording. Pan across the room, reasonably quickly. Pay attention to how smooth it looks.
Now hit record and do exactly the same thing. Is it just as smooth? Mine is not. It gets choppy while recording, but is nice and smooth once I stop.

What about a 1080p 60fps video? Mine seems to work fine up to 1080p as long as it's only a 30fps video.
If you need help finding something in 1080p60, try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KNwl8nvMvQ
In the YouTube app if you tap the screen while the video is playing you'll get the 3-dot menu button at the top right corner. From there you can go to Quality and choose "1080p60". Skip ahead in the video to force it to switch quality levels, and let me know how your video plays then.
I don't doubt you, I just want to make sure we're trying the same things here. Thanks!

Here's the thing ... I had problems with your recording in 1080p 60fps. I tried another one Battlefield 1 PS4 Gameplay (1080p 60fps) and guess what, played flawlessly - confirmed it was playing in 1080p 60fps. Most issues I believe may be related to buffering problems with longer playing videos. I don't have issues with shorter plays but they seem to arise with longer plays from the number I have tested now.

We already saw that LG changed something in newer product lines due to issues with the camera ( aoscp thread a while ago) so I guess that makes the difference..

Yes...i noticed lag on some videos when played in 1080p 60fps
And some others played just fine. It did seem to be shorter ones that played okay for me as well.
Edit: i take that back. All 1080p 60fps lag and audio out of sync. Sorry @vsTerminus

Hi all, I've had my Pixel 6 Pro since December and there's been one issue that preventing me from loving it. Nearly every 3rd party app (and some Google apps) has this stutter when scrolling. Just to be clear this is not the bug where it drops from 120hz to 60hz. It is very clearly running at 120 the entire time but there is some sort of dropped frames or screen tearing going on that makes it stutter. A lot of people can relate to this stuttering to how the Twitter and Reddit apps behave on Android. Except this is happening to so many apps I use which are not present when I compare it to someone's S21 Ultra. Apps such as play store, yelp, linkedin, google feed on the left of homescreen, google feed in chrome, netflix, uber eats, google news, and youtube all have this issue. There are apps that run like butter however such as settings, contacts, calendar, and keep so I know its possible. Does anyone else experience this? I have tried the December, January, February, and 12L beta 3 and there are not improvements. I just don't understand how so many people say this phone is butter when this stuttering is so jarring.

This is 100% not the norm. I've had two 6 Pro's (just got a replacement because of a weird haptic motor) and both have been fine. So, it sounds like either an app is causing this, or its a hardware issue. I recommend re-flashing 12L (after a wipe), and during setup, create a temporary gmail account (you can delete it later). install the worst 3 or 4 apps and see if it fixes it. It's the best way to troubleshoot your issue.
Or try ProtonAOSP with a temporary Google Account (just for a few hours). You need to get to the bottom of what's causing this. But you absolutely should NOT have to use a "ROM" to get a proper experience. We're just trying to troubleshoot here.
How many apps do you have listed in Settings -- Accessibility? can you disable all of them, restart and see if there is any change>?

I've reflashed 12L and tried ProtonAOSP but the stuttering is still there. This was with fresh install with no additional apps other than what came out of the box. Can you confirm that both your google feed and google news apps scroll perfectly smooth? This should be consistent across all Pixel 6s since it is a stock app.
I've had this issue since day 1.
Google feed stutters pretty badly, is probably the biggest offender on my end that stutters the most.

Yes, it is fine for me. No issues with stuttering on these apps. Can you take a video of what's happening? does it show up in a screen recording?

Here's a screen recording of me scrolling through Google feed, play store, news, and podcast. All stock apps that should perform perfectly but there is stuttering. If it's not too much trouble could you upload a similar video so I can compare?

Are you sure 120 is enabled under display? It sure looks like you are in 60hz mode
Also you state you have tried dec, Jan, Feb and 12L did ANY of those involve a CLEAN FLASH like a FULL WIPE or did you just update to them and call it broke.

It's hard to judge the footage, since it's a 296x640 24fps? 30fps? recording, but it seems that what you refer to as "stuttering" is merely the scrolling animation, bringing the scroll to a "halt". Pretty sure that it's intentional, but then again it's hard to judge, since the quality of the video you shared doesn't offer much room for interpretation. We would need solid footage with 60fps or more to understand what you refer to as stutter.

as others have stated, it's best not to share media with your google photos account. others might be able to upload a video to compare. If you do want to share video, use a free upload service like share.riseup.net, for images use postimages.org (there's probably other services some will suggest).
I think what your seeing is pretty normal. mine isn't much smoother, and I don't think there's anything wrong with your phone. The only way to know for sure is to compare to another 6 Pro in real life - but that might not be possible (unless you go to a store that has it on display).
also like other user has suggested, that video will look worse because it isn't a high frame rate or resolution.
Go to developer options and enable "Force Peak refresh rate" and turn the 3 animation scale options to 0.0 (the latter probably won't do anything for scrolling but try it anyway).
edit--
Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with your phone. I think that sometimes we're so fixated on scrolling animation. It's totally fine to, but the phone has so much to offer. I don't use the Google apps you've suggested. I also feel that if this is really important to you, maybe the S21/S21 is a better phone.

This video was made using the screen record quick toggle straight from the phone after a clean flash of 12L. Updated all stock apps in the play store so everything is up to date. Can't really get more clean than that. Also recorded the morning after so things have settled. I can assure you its running at 120hz and not 60hz. Now that I check on my computer I can see it doesn't playback with 120 fps. I guess google photos doesn't pick up the framerate.

Footage quality can be increased to 1440p but you're right that it doesn't pick up the fps on a desktop, if you watch from your phone (if you have a pixel 6 pro) then it should show 120fps. I'll try to record again using something else. I get what you're saying about the scrolling animation but I feel its more that than. When compared to a S21 Ultra its much smoother with no hiccups. The best comparison is scrolling through settings and scrolling through google feed or google news. You can't tell me those two feel the same.
