Google App - Contents Hidden on lockscreen - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note5

So recently my Google App notifications appear as "Contents Hidden" on my lock screen. I didn't change any settings so this started occcurring on it's own. All of my other applications show content on the lock screen.
This started happening recently after getting the latest August security patch for the Note5 on AT&T servers
I also took a few play store updates for the Google app itself recently.
What I've tried to do to fix this issue:
1. Reboot Phone
2. Changed the Hide/Show content settings in the Lock Screen section of Settings (toggle with each iteration)
3. Changed the Google App and Google Play Services toggle off/on (tested with each iteration)
4. Rolled back to an earlier version of the Google app
5. Cleared the cache for the google app.
6. Wiped the cache partition (twice) for the phone
After performing the above troubleshooting steps, I'm still stuck with the "Contents hidden" on the lock screen for the google app only.
Any ideas?

google now in notification bar just disappeared

anyone else's google now in the notification bar just disappeared ie the weather card. didnt swipe it away or change any setting but it just disappeared as did time home.
there all showing in the app as normal , ive tried turning google now on and off. tried clearing app data and cache and still wont re appear in the notification bar.
any ideas?
FIXED
Turns out there was an update id not been notified about in play store once updated all back to normal
Mine still doesn't show anything after the update. I like to keep my weather info on the notification panel. Already did the off/on trick or clear data. Both my gnex and n7 are totally blank
Edit: after update the card setting was suddenly turned off from low priority. All fixed now

Google Now alerts only silent

I'm using the google now launcher on rooted fire phone with stock lock screen. I get notifictions from google now and screen lights up to show me and vibration works but it is silent. I have set different alert sounds, including default, but it keeps resetting to silent when I go to gNow card notification settings. I even deleted card settings and started over.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Can anyone tell me if they are having this problem, too?
Yes, I am having this issue as well with the latest version.
This appears to have worked for me.
1. Force stop Google Search.
2. Clear cache
3. Uninstall Google search which should restore it to the phone's factory default app.
4. Launch Google Now and set notification sound to None (Silent).
5. Reinstall latest version of Google Now.
6. Launch Google Now and set notification sound to desired sound.

This didn't work. No Google app after uninstalling it.
But thanks,
I got alerts working with Tasker. Method was to:
Create an Event - UI - Notification
Owner Application = Google
New Task - Name "Alert" (optional but recommended)
Add Action +
Alert - Notify Sound - Title "whatever you want" - Sound file = "whatever you want" (Defaults are located in System/media/audio/notifications)
go back
Add another action +
Task - Wait - 2 sec
go back
Add another Action +
Alert - Notify Cancel
go back
Done.
(I actually added Alert Sound - wait 1 - Alert Sound - continue) so it would play the alert twice but thats up to you.
Notify Cancel, keeps the Tasker Alert icon out of your Notification Drawer.
Tasker does not need to be run in foreground for this to work so change it in Tasker Prefrences to keep the Tasker icon out of Notifications, as well.

Issues - Apps, recents crashing and more

Hi All,
I'm loving the quality and the performance of the oneplus 3 but there are a few issues that are irritating me!
1) Apps crash before starting - Intermittently, applications just show a black or white screen when executed. I have to press the power button to get the phone usable again. Example - Google drive, maps, pocket casts , tapet
2) Recents button crash - Pressing the recents button crashes the system ui. This has been happening more since 3.2.0
3) Wifi does not turn off - WIfi remains on after being turned off from quick settings or the main settings page.
4) Android system drain - Android system, almost always, has more battery usage than the screen!
5) I'm not sure if this is an issue - I recently installed AppOpsXposed module and looks like the Google Play Services and Android System have location access running even when location & wifi scanning are turned off. Shouldn't the location permission be used only when location access is turned on? I believe this is contributing to the android system drain!
I'm currently on FreedomOS 3.2.1 but have faced these issues from Stock 3.1.2 onwards. Not sure about 3.1.1 since I received the OTA on first boot. I have tried going back to stock(no root/no xposed) but that doesn't help either.
Thoughts?

Question (bug?) Device control icon on lockscreen shown despite disabled

Settings > Display > Lock screen > Show device controls ... I disabled this, but the device control icon is still showing on the lock screen.
Is this a bug? Could someone please try as well? thanks.

OK ... well ... seems to be 'fixed' after a reboot ...
Hmm ... weird ... not fixed ... icon suddenly started re-appearing on lock screen despite 'device controls' being OFF.

I usually keep mine on, but I've just now disabled mine and I'll see if it pops back up. In my case, so far, a reboot wasn't necessary to make it go away.
Same here. Figure it'll get fixed and it's a silly oversight.
I even checked:
Code:
# settings get secure lockscreen_show_controls
0
So it's clearly 'off' ... still the icon for device control is sometimes appearing on my lock screen.
Silly bug ... I will report it to Google.
I've had it disabled since Friday and it hasn't reappeared on the lockscreen for me yet. You've probably already tried this, but maybe try enabling it, lock the screen, then disable it again?

I have exactly the same issue. Did a full reset without restoring backups. Worked for one day and now that button is back. Driving me nuts.

Yeah, and Play System is also up to date. Even tried 12L beta, same issue.
Deleting Play Services data and Google Home app didn't work either.
As soon as I set up any app for device controls from the quick settings tile (Google Home, Xiaomi, Tasker), that button shows up on the lockscreen (sometimes with a delay), regardless of the "show device control" setting under lockscreen settings.

After resetting Play Services again, I just found the culprit: Smart Lock. If you enable Smart Lock for home and you're on that location, the button is shown. Not sure if that's intended behaviour.

Very interesting! Hopefully fix in February update.

Question Screen goes off when covering the front sensor (with April update)

Hi,
Since the April update I got an issue with my pixel: every time I cover the front sensor (camera and/or light sensor), the screen goes off for a little time. This is like a pocket mode, but I don't find the setting in the Pixel menu. Does anybody knows how to fix this?
Interesting.....not experiencing the same. GL!
I just rebootet my phone and the issue was gone! Strange...

I assume you are using the default Google Dialer and you've checked it's the default dialer when you go to Android Settings --> apps --> default apps: Phone App.
If this happens again, clear storage on the Phone App and then enable all permissions including advanced options. The way to get into app permissions: long-press on phone app shortcut, app info, then under storage; clear storage. in the same 'app info' window, enable any options under 'advanced' such as display over other apps.
I did experience this a few weeks ago when using a different dialer/phone app (Koler).
