I was using Hulu with the flash player hack, and it was working beautifully. I have been running the nightlies for a while, and I can't tell what changed. But now when I try to use hulu, the audio is so slow the voices sound possessed!
I found some users in the Incredible forum ran into the same issues when an audio fix for froyo was applied to their rom. But one user posted solving both problems.
Has anyone else run into this? If so have you found a fix?
Yeah I too have this problem

same with thedailyshow.com
Go to Google type hulu hack xda developers then look for June 17th fix. Works great on my evolution no audio problems.

That's actually where I got the hack in the first place. I un-installed it and installed it again today, and I am still getting the same result. I even flashed back to a previous nightly build, the only one I had a nand backup for, and same problem.
I did find this in the incredible forum,
just add this extension to the URL at the top showthread.php?p=7712210, and check out comment #73
His solution seemed a little over my head, but would something like this work for us?

any simple fix for evos?
Did anyone ever get a fix?? I'm having the same thing
Try turning off dsp.
Sent on the go from my HTC EVO
Disabled dsp still a no go..it's weird the ads sound fine once it gets to the actual video it messes up ..thanks for trying. Any other ideas?
I have tried everything. There is an updated "fixed-flash" in the forum where I found it the first time. I uninstalled my old one, re-booted, and then installed the new one. Couldn't get it to work.
I tried using the hulu.apk, which is really just the Hulu bookmark widget from hulu.com. I tried running it through Dolphin HD, I tried it through the stock browser, and I got the demon voices almost every time. There were few occasions where commercials would come in fine, and one time the actual clip played with normal audio, but 90% of the time, I am getting slow audio.
It seems like in the droid incredible forums, they are discussing this more. I found this from a dinc forum.
This is how I understand it. Google changed something to the audio streams for Froyo. Apparently catering to a newer technology called stagefright I believe. But, this made Pandora, Slacker, and other audio only streams sound like an old record player. So, Google released a fix. Adrynalyne posted that fix early. But it seems that this "fix" only fixes the streaming audio for those music apps and sites. But it caused a delay in the flash audio from sites like Hulu. In regards to this, there was a droid incredible forum talking about a ROM called SkyRaider. I wonder if Cyanogen used the same fix.
"SkyRaider incorporates adrynalyne's audio fix, which was released by google, which as previously mentioned fixed the AAC streams. The side effect was that Hulu and other sites were getting "devil voice" audio. So basically you could either have one or the other, not both.
Prior to the audio fix was an alternate fix where you changed a variable in the build.prop. This fixed both aac (ie. Pandora) and did not distort the sound in Hulu. The only thing affected was a slightly lower quadrant score. No decrease in performance, just a lower score. Personally, I'm still using the build.prop because I don't care about quadrant scores and my phone works properly in all aspects. Again this fix is rather old school now so maybe a better alternative has been cooked up but it's what I've been using for quite a while with no issues. "
Does anyone with more experience than me know what that means? Can this be applied to the Evo?
There don't seem to be too many people interested in this post. But for those that are. I did try editing the build.prop file using a root explorer. It didn't work. I will post if I find anything that does.
Yea I've been trying to fix this for 2 weeks now..I even applied skyraders fix to see if would work crashed my phone..I keep posting and also no buddy seems like there interested in it..i would love tofix this problem cause now it's become a obsession..I've tried and have gotten nowhere..ill give 10 bucks to anyone that can fix this for me!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7880766&postcount=6
After researching this for a while, I've found the only way to do this is to disable Stagefright. Hopefully this won't be a permanent thing. Follow the instructions in the above link. Pandora and Hulu seem to BOTH be functioning properly on the newest Cyanogen nightly after applying this fix.
The Cause of this issue?
I thought I post what results in Hulu sound running slow for me. Hulu works great when I first flash MIKSHIFT v1.0 for the HTC EVO Shift.
When I start having the slow sound on Hulu is right after I do a wipe of the user data (System Reset). It does not matter if you do the system reset from within "Settings/SD & phone storage/Factory data reset" or if you run this from within clockworkmod recovery.
After the reset and installing the huku fix apx the issue with the sound appears.
So it seems that doing the reset is causing something to be changed that causes this issue.
Please let me know if anyone has found a solution for this.

Hello guys, I just recently rooted my android phone and I installed a custom rom (Nebula 1.0.7) However whenever I use any video messaging app (Yahoo, Qik, and Fring) I notice that my camera is always sideways and I appear the same way towards the other guy. My front camera would always appear to be sideways even if I were to rotate my phone.
I never had this problem before, is there any way to 'mirror' my camera so that it would look upright?
Any help would be very appreciated
Same thing here. I don't think there is a fix for this until we get the official froyo.
Thats quite a shame, I wonder why they can't seem to fix it.
No matter ,its hardly a issue
Yeah I know. It does suck. First time I updated to froyo and saw that I was like wtf? Lol.
Sent from my Evo Killer!!!
I had the same issue running stock DK28. Sometimes it would rotate correctly, others not. I'm sure it will get fixed soon enough!

Its Screen Rotation Lag.....I believe? I have been trying to fix that for a month or so myself to no avail. Its just a matter of time and a fix will become available. (Froyo/NebulaROM7Sisters-Ext4CWM3)
I think I found the Fix, Download spare parts from the Market. Open it, in the section marked transitions....set that to fast. I just tried it and cleared up all lag for me.

You're. Thinking of something completely different. Its video chat he's. Taklking about
sent from my Epi[demi]c:-D
I use oovoo and it works very well. I know it's a hassle downloading yet another video chat program but it's quite a bit smaller than Yahoo! video and actually works better.
You can video chat from phone to computer, phone to phone, etc.
Didn't want to post this in Android development, since this isn't a development issue. I'm running CM 7.1, which is almost perfect. My issues are truly minor, but wanted to see if anyone else had these issues, and had a workaround for them. Most of my issues are with the Gallery3D app.
-Deleting photos under the Gallery3D app doesn't actually delete them. It just removes them from the Gallery app until the next reboot. You have to actually use a file manager or plug into a PC to delete the images/videos. That seems retarded to me. Is there a hidden setting, or do I need to use a different app?
-I'm limited to 480p playback on the Gallery app, yet most of my 720p videos played back fine on the stock Sense ROM. I don't want to re-encode videos just for this device if I can avoid it.
I have other minor issues, but they escape me, so I'll post later. Any solutions to the above?

Always a good idea if you have an issue or question regarding a certain ROM to post in that ROMs thread. More times than less someone has had the same or similar issue. In this case it would be the CM7 nightlies thread.
Sent from my CM7 HTC Incredible using Tapatalk
I would try the nighty thread, located here, but here's a head start on your answer: most of us don't use the included gallery app, due to being buggy and laggy. Try quickpic from the market. It deletes my pictures just fine. As for 720, you just might have to convert them, since CM7 doesn't support it yet, but again, try quickpic first. Any future questions, feel free to post in the provided link.
First of all, I apologize if this was answered already, but the dev thread has nearly 7000 pages and i didnt find it in the last 50 I looked through so i thought ill ask directly.
I installed the Revolution HD 7.0.4 onto my HTC Desire HD, and well it works great, thank you developers for making it ^^. However I have two small issues.
1) Is the whenever I try to change sounds for notifications I get com.htc.sdm crashing, it works ok on ringtones, but with the notification ones it dies right away, im not really bothered about fixing this if someone could suggest an App that does the equivalent job. I did trying to do the reset sounds to default HTC i saw in some places, but the problem persists.
2) This one is a bit more irritating one and id like to fix it. The default gallery app seems to be missing entirely, i dont entirely mind using a custom gallery app, however i do use my phone for photos a lot, and the button in the corner of the camera app, the one that should open the gallery, does not respond to custom ones, not the ones i tried at least, so I would like to shove the default gallery app back in so it responds properly, so if anyone could point me to a link for that, i would be extremely grateful.
Sorry once more if these have been asked already, i tried my best to seek out the answer before asking.
Thank you.
Hello all and first of all Happy Birthday Mike.
I have a small problem with the camera crash.
the camera works fine but no video.
When I stop the video, I have a stop message com.android.camera (sudden closure of the camera application).
I'm reinstalled (with a super wipe) but nothing works.
Thank you in advance for your reply.
cordially
nicus
Hello to all.
First of all I want to say that the new version 6.4 is 7.1 is very good, but I noticed several things:
First, the radio version is more efficient than the version 6.X of the 7.X.
Then the camera is still not fixed on version 7.1 for video (I read the 6985 pages of the topic and try everything but nothing works).
I therefore expect the surprise Mike: "There are not much bigger fixed Because something might come in the near future." (Post No. 69783 of the topic).
For I have not yet reaches my 10 posts, I bore you a little here
Give this a try .. worked for me
1. Enable developer options by going to Settings -> about phone , then tapping Build Number until it says developer options enabled.
2. In Settings go to Developer options, scroll down to Force GPU Rendering and enable it .
3. Reboot ( just to be safe )
Now try the app your having issues with and all being well it works
Hi, I'm considering getting the P2, and the sync issue has been the main reason stopping me so far, so thanks for this and I hope others will be able to chime in and say whether this fix worked for them, as it has for you.
One question: Does the sync issue only occur for streaming sites such as youtube, or does it also occur with videos from the SD card as well? Thanks
I tried the above. The YouTube app is still out of sync for me while the same movie is synced in chrome. I don't see this in the Netflix app though, to me, it seems to be in sync.
Weird is what it is...
I haven't made any changes to developer options. But the issue has gone altogether this morning. It's not a perception thing as the issue was so significant before.
It was only generally an issue for videos over 30fps. I would try disabling GPU rendering again and see if the issue stays 'fixed'. I suspect it is/will be sorted with YouTube app update.
BBC iplayer and UKtv seem to have improved , but RTE player now has sync issue and it didn't before .
YouTube is a strange one, i've tried videos of varying quality and there's no standard format it happens on . Lenovo are blaming the apps as usual , we wont get a straight answer from them that's for sure .
I remember a while back (years) html5 was replacing flash for YouTube videos, although I expect both still exist. Perhaps it is a video format issue rather than a quality issue. Chrome I expect loads as flash video by default not HTML 5. Can any techies confirm this hypothesis?

I may be wrong but i thought chrome did not support flash . you can install flash player but it wont work on chrome
Flash I believe is embedded in chrome, so you don't need to install any flash plugins
Flash isn't developed for Android and hasn't been for years. So there is no support for flash anywhere, unless you manage to install it. I suspect that isn't trivial since the last version was developed for probably gingerbread or a version around there somewhere.
Well that answers that then. The issue isn't related to html5 vs flash
The pc version of chrome has a cut down version of flash built in if memory serves me right .. I'm getting old , memory aint what it used to be
has the Lip sync issues been fixed on Lenovo P2 ?
(UK Three)
Not yet. In my experience it is variable. Some videos it's apparent, others it's less obvious.

I have the UK version of the Lenovo P2 from 3, running stock Android 6.0.1 .
I was halfway through watching a YouTube video(Clare Siobhan) on my P2 and stumbled onto this page on my PC trying to find a fix.
I paused the video, changed the setting then resumed the video(no reboot).
It fixed the audio sync issue!!!. :victory:
I then fully closed YouTube and watched a totally different YouTube video and all is good.
I see this has not worked for everyone but it has for me.
Thank you so much for posting this fix!!! :good:

I just got one from 3 UK. Never noticed the lip sync until now, but yes it's there for sure. I'm on MM still. Plan to try N when my sdcard arrives.
Force GPU for 2D works for me though!
If you want to disable Dev Options after (in case Force GPU didn't work for you), just clear data from 'Settings' app.

Worked fine for me too.
I've got a CN P780, CN Z2 Pro, ROW P1 Turbo and have just received the ROW P2. All seems well so far, came here to look for a root guide/ROM and saw the lip sync issue - all of the above Lenovo models do it on nearly all youtube videos for me. Other apps seem fine though.
Can't imagine the hardware and or software being wrong in all of these models but it seems equally strange that Google can't get it right either

I'm running S233 ROW on my P2 and it fixed the lip sync. Don't need this Dev Options tweak now.
Also mic issue in WhatsApp (3rd party apps in general) seems much improved.
