Roms where android auto works with no problems? - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Can anyone recommend a rom where android auto works?
For OxygenOS the connection always cuts out after 5-10 minutes of working. I just tried the FreedomOS rom and the same thing happens. Maybe because its just a tweaked oxygenos?

Oxygen os works fine for me. Might want to try a different cable. Android auto seems a little finicky at times.

For me only the original dash charge cable works without disconnects.... OOS and CM working fine with Android Auto with this cable...

I had originally tried it with the dash cable and still got the same issue. I can try again.

Lollipop Roms and android wear

I tried to post in QandA section but for some reason it would not let me post.
Since the lollipop Roms don't support Bluetooth LE do they still pair with android wear devices? Also, is there any decreased functionality?
Thanks

I tried out for a brief moment, the AICP 12/18 build, and my G Watch connected just fine too it. Can't say for the other Roms though..
I've been running CM 12 since I got my Moto 360 2 weeks ago with no issues. It connects and pairs fine. Everything works as it should.

also on CM12 and pairs with LG G watch no issues
It works with my moto360 and CM12
I just got an Asus Zenwatch. I didn't have any issues with lollipop initially but after flashing a different ROM I had issues pairing. I had to factory reset the watch to get it to pair again.
I also read that BLE wasn't working on lollipop ROMs, which makes me question if it really is connecting on low energy. Does anyone know if this has been fixed with newer lollipop builds?

I can tell you I had paired the moto 360 and HTC one running lollipop with no issues for about 2 weeks.
I've had my G Watch R randomly disconnect all the time on every lollipop rom I've tried. Haven't had a single issue on stock LG or CM11. It connects and pairs fine and randomly shows the disconnected icon on the watch face even though the Android Wear app says its connected. Can't even reconnect without rebooting the phone or turning bluetooth off and on again. Only happens on lolipop roms though... dont know why.

I've have a Moto360 connected to my LG G3 d851 that has the same issue.
I have only used LP ROMs (Euphoria as my DD), but have yet to find one that doesn't have this issue. Disconnects up to 15-30 times a day with "Bluetooth Sharing" fometimes showing a FC. I even managed to reset my BT right after a FC and got a 'Green Screen'.. (Like a BSOD).. my guess is the unofficial BT drivers pulled from KK don't play well with LP/ART.
(FC: force close, KK: Kit Kat, LP: lollipop, BT: Bluetooth)
Wish there was a way to port the bluetooth driver from the leaked LG lolipop build for the d855
This is still an issue.
I switched back to KK thinking the issue would be solved in a few months. To my surprise, it has not been addressed. I specifically tired the Illusion Lollipop build, but no bueno.
Are there any Lollipop ROMs free of the connectivity issue?
No. Until we get official 5.0 (or more specific, the source) we won't have the specific BT stack for our device. Everything right now is working hard to get it working, but it's kinda like working blind with a deaf partner.

I've got the Sony Smartband (SWR10) and I've had trouble trying to pair it with my phone. It just won't.
I've tried multiple roms and still got the problem. The roms i tried pairing the band with: RR, DU, LiquidSmooth and Bliss Pop

Strange Issue

I Had rooted my phone and installed RR on my oneplus 3 it worked smoothly for around 2 months but recently i started facing some random reboots so i decided to return to stock but unfourtunately the same problem exsisted and so i decided to flash the community build 3.5.2 after installing it as my daily driver for 2 days i had no issue but now the problem has started again.....i dont know how to fix this problem kindly someone help me
When My phone reboots its shows the oneplus logo and then switches itself off...but somtimes the phone reboots and works normally for half an hour or so and again reboots these reboots usually occur when i comnect to a wifi or surf the net
Any kind of help would be appreciated
It could be because these builds aren't the most stable? Either it may be an app that's causing it? Or a hardware fault?
Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONEPLUS A3003 met Tapatalk
Most of the CB builds are in beta but are good for daily driver and no one with CB 3.5.2 has had reboot issue so that case is unlikely i feel its the wifi or an app the chances of it being a hardware defect is vey unlikely sir because everything works fine a guy faced a similar issue like me but he had this problem only on RR
Go back to Stock see if it still occurs, if so it might well be hardware.

USB-C OTG (by Anker) problem when connecting using any CM based Rom.

Hi All,
I have a USB-C OTG unit for use with my phone, on Sense Rom's it works exceptionally well, keyboard and mouse at the same time and a great response rate on a monitor / TV.
However i'm now using Resurrection remix and CM13 (I know, both are in Beta at the moment)
What happens is I connect the Anker up, no problems, connect some peripherals like a mouse and KB, all working, no issues whatsoever.
Then i connect up the HDMI cable, and boom, phone freezes and can't input or change anything, disconnecting does nothing, forcing me to hold power and down to reboot.
I've tried another kernel but same issue.
Does anyone have any ideas what this may be? I appreciate that not everyone uses OTG cables but I do in work at times and at the moment it's the only thing keeping me from sticking with CM / RR.
Mouse works perfectly, keyboard does too. Just when connecting a HDMI cable it freezes the phone, just can't figure what it is that's halting it. It's a powered unit so it should have the juice for it.
Any help / input would be appreciated.
Thanks
Anybody got any ideas about this? Can't be the only one who uses otg for hdmi?
Lol. Anybody??
Mods feel free to close this thread I have no desire to every flash a cm based ROM on my HTC 10.

It's a known bug. I'm sure it'll be worked out eventually.

Haha check the age of this thread, i was just doing some housekeeping. I've no intentions of going back to cm rom's, not on this phone, not in this lifetime.

Appreciate the input, ship has sailed and landed, docked and departed again unfortunately.

Android auto acting flaky

Does anyone know how Android auto is detected through USB C port? For some reason my phone will charge with absolutely no issues, but when I try to use Android auto, the slightest movement can disconnect the phone and not detect Android auto. At the same time the phone continues to be charging fine. Anyone else experienced anything similar?

AA has been rock solid for me. What cable are you using?
I'm having issues with Android auto as well. Sometimes it'll just charge my phone and not open Android auto. When it does open, navigation freezes the majority of the time. I'm using cable from Google

Try updating Android to NMF26O. That will probably solve your problems.

I'm using a Google cable. You might try one.
I know this might sound funny, but I cleaned out the type C port on the phone because it was really dusty. After I cleaned it I drove for 45 min and the phone did not disconnect once. Usually in my drive home from work I have to keep reconnecting it every time I move it. So this might have been my problem. Thanks guys

Flaky for me too and it has been for the last 4-5 weeks:
ROMs tried: 7.1.1 and 7.12 ROMs like Resurrection Remix, PureNexus, PixelDust (my current one with 7.1.2 May update).
Cables I've tried: Google official cable for the Google Pixel (I have the Pixel not the XL), iOrange braided USBC to USBA cable
Vehicle: Audi A4 2017
Symptoms: sometimes when I connect my phone to the car via USB, the Audi will say please check your device's screen for instructions...a few seconds later, car will just disconnect. I'll notice on the phone that Substratum will say that Google Play Services keeps stopping.
What helps:
- A fresh reboot. It's not definite yet, but because this ROM has the ability to change auto-start / keep awake / run in background for apps, for both Google Play Services and Android Auto, I just told it the following:
- Don't keep in background
- Don't keep awake
- Allow auto-start
- On fresh reboot, don't connect USB cable until car starts playing music over bluetooth.
I don't think it's an issue with my USB-C connector but i'll try cleaning it per the suggestions here. Haven't tried that yet.

Random reboots OOS 4.0.x

Hi,
I'm experiencing random reboots since I've upgraded to OOS 4.0.x (I've had them since 4.0.0, but I've got them too on 4.0.1). My friend has the same issue. I think its weird that I find very little about this issue. I think it happens the most when switching from LTE/4G/Mobile to WiFi and vice-versa. I can not say that the reboots only occur when switching.
OnePlus support suggested me to do a clean flash of the rom. (Isn't that the same as a factory reset? I did not have tampered with my phone.. Everything is stock. (ROM / Kernel..) Even the device is not rooted and the bootloader is still locked..
Are there other people who have this issue?

I have been experiencing the same situation with you. Sometimes during charging, sometimes just randomly.
Your suspect with network/wifi switch could be right as my network quality is quite bad and it jumps around quite frantically. I did clean flash but still issue persists

Working fine on my end but I'm using the Chinese A3000. Might be only affecting A3003 and US A3000.
Nope, I got a Chinese one too and i have really got issues with that random reboots, because my alarms dont work anymore after a reboot.
I'm on Open Beta 10 and have the same issue, on a clean flash. See screenshot attached. Not sure what's going on. Phone was plugged in each time but one.
Collegue of mine has the same issue, (also OnePlus3), other friend of mine has also the same rebooting issue. (OnePlus3).
It's weird that I don't find as much information on the internet regarding it..
