I was suffering from boot loop issue since 1 week.
I have read many threads and decided to wipe all data and reinstall MM to G4.
I have download KDZ H81120o and LGUP and do following steps.
1. Connect phone to download mode by pressing volume up key then connect phone to USB cable with PC.
2. Open LGUP
3. Select KDZ(H81120o) file path and select option REFURBISH
4. Press Install
Whole process completed and phone got bricked.
Now when I try to open phone into download mode then "green 3d android icon" shows and phone restarted and stuck with lg logo. So my download mode also not working now.
My PC not recognizing device now.
When I try to hard reset(power + volume down) then screen got hang after pressing 'Yes' option.
Please help me.

Hello,
following problem:
Via ifont i changed the font, then after rebooting it had a bootloop, then i did a factory reset via Hardware keys, now it's stuck at the LG Logo when booting.
After waiting for about 20 minutes it Shows a battery Symbol with a questionmark next to it.
Then i took battery out and in again and now the same problem.
Does anyone have an solution for this?
follow these steps:
1) go to lg site and install lg pc suite
2)connect to pc in download mode(press and hold volume + when inserting usb cable)
3) in the lg pc suite program press repair and follow steps
3*) in case your pc does not recognize your phone download and install this
4) if that does not work try this
5) that was it actually. if that didn't work bring it in for a swap/repair
P.S: you will be resetting your phone, your unsaved data will be lost. sorry mate.
hello geeks,
I really need serious help. First the setup I have is as follows
1. I have LG G3 D855 but its european or Hong Kong or Taiwan version I don't know. I bought it in India. I updated it to android 5.0 Lollipop. Everything is fine till now.
2. Then I rooted my phone. This step was also fine. No problem.
3. Then I tried to download camera mod v2.0 to get some extra camera features like 60fps. In this step I got problems. I downloaded the media_profile.xml and copied it to /system/etc. But I made a mistake that I did not change its permission and rebooted the phone.
I am troubleshooting from a windows 8.1 PC. I downloaded the LG USB driver.
Due to this my phone stop at initial LG,Life is Good Screen. I tried different methods in internet.
1. I tired to access the device file file through adb. But the adb does not list the device.
2. I tried to use fastboot mode, but still fastboot does not list device when in the boot screen.
3. I pressed down pwr + volume down button and release after screen come up and then press again. I was asked to erase user data. I said yes and it erased the data. But still the same symptom when I reboot. Stuck at initial screen.
4. I tried to use LG PC Suite. But it does not even detect phone through the USB and there is no repair button.
5. I tried to enter downloading mode. This one is strange. I pressed down the vol up and then connected USB. But sometimes only it enters downloading mode and sometimes not. May be once in 10 times it enters downloading mode and 9 times it goes to initial boot LG screen.
I am not sure whats going on. Can anybody help me to figure it out ? Please help.
Thats because your not doing it properly
Research a guide on how to enter download mode and after that you can use flashtool to wipe your system and reinstall the original lg firmware

FIRST install the DRIVER from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
See in the part 2015 with TOT files...
(if any other drivers are present, uninstall them and do a clean install)
You need to get in Download mode to be able to fix it without having to open the phone.
1. Unplug phone from pc and power off
2. Remove back cover and remove the battery
3. Plug the micro-usb cable into the phone
4. Press and HOLD the VOLUME DOWN (make sure you press it from the edge, far from the powerbutton)
5. Put the battery - Dont let go of Volume Down yet.
6. Connect the micro-usb cable to the pc - Dont let go of volume down yet
7. Wait for the pc to recognize it, and the download mode appears on the phone, now you can let go of volume down
Repeat again, first time might not work.
Post results here...
PS, quote me because i might not see and answer then. good luck

You're still soft bricked, just force your device into download mode and use LG Flash Tool to return back to stock and start again.

If I remember correctly (please check threads here, it's been a long time since I've used this device, so memories are fading), download mode is activated when you press Volume Up (or both of volume buttons) and insert USB cable. I know that E98x has some strange button sequences, like rebooting to recovery is a two step operation (Volume Up + Power until navbar blinks, then power button twice, that's the only way mine wanted to boot into recovery), so please check around.
As far as USB connection issues, don't use USB3+ ports and if you're on Windows 8.1+ and later, run with Administrator privileges. I never experienced that one (used LGFlashTools from inside VirtualBox running Win XP for all my needs, I'm not a Windows user), so can't really help much but forums are full with explanations how.

3. Install LG flash tool and LG USB Drivers
4. Plug usb cable to phone
5. Hold volume buttons and then plug the usb cable to PC (i use win 10)

Hopefully this thread can also be used as reference for anyone who has the same issue as i had
Hi guys
my LG VS986 doesn't have Download mode Or recovery.. (there is no laf partition) but it has System Recovery list and fastboot mode.
The system is stuck at the second LG logo.
I have tried with fastboot mode but it has failed to write any thing like (laf.img) Or (System.img) maybe the bootloader is locked (I am not sure).
USB debugging is not enabled although I have chosen it from SESTEM RECOVERY list so ADB does not work too.
We all know that the boot loader is locked for this model until now.
Is there one has a solution to how can i download a new firmware or fix it !!?
Are you following these procedures:
LG G4 Download Mode
1. Download and Install LG’s USB Drivers
2. Plug the USB Cable into your PC(not connected to the LG G4)
3. Have your PC Powered On and Logged in
4. Power Down the LG G4
5. Press and Hold the Volume Up Button on the LG G4
6. While Holding Volume Up, Plug the USB Cable into the LG G4
7. Continue Holding the Volume Up Button After You See ‘Download Mode’
8. Let Go of the Volume Up Button When You See the ‘Firmware Update’ Screen on the LG G4

Thanks for reply bro
But my problem is different.
It's (There's no download mode. because the laf.img file isn't existed) .. so my phone has fastboot only.
Hmm if you have the Drivers and App (LGUP) installed then you just connect to PC via MTP Mode then by using the App and selecting the KDZ Image the App Automatically puts the Phone in Download Mode
Go HERE to Download App/Drivers

when LGUP tried to put the phone in download mode the Fastboot appeared rather than it..
After that lgup failed to find the COM port.
Guys
There's no download mode.. Laf.img file is missed.!!
You may have to contact LG for a fix then.
