I rooted my Kindle Fire using the Kindle Fire Utility V 0.9.9 and it was awesome but I decided to take it a step further and try to install the Cyanogenmod as well. When my Kindle was rebooting it was stuck at boot so I did a factory reset wipe in TWRP and when it rebooted it still has cyanogenmod installed, except it starts up fully now.. Only problem is with the wipe I don't have any apps. No ROM manager, No Google Play, no Kindle stuff, etc.
I guess the main thing is how do I get Google Play or some other app service to work on it? I've tried downloading the store .apk but then when I try and run it, it just flashes up and closes immediately.
Oh, fixed everything. Only problem was I didn't install from Gapps from root and so I couldn't get anything on my device. Works great now, can't believe how limited the Kindle Fire interface was.. now it's essentially just a Android Tablet.

Just bought a Kindle 2nd Gen 8.9 - Firmware 8.5.1_user_5159720. I'm looking to either get a Custom Rom or Sideloading Google Play. My goal is to be able to install Xfinity Stream.
Thanks for all your help!
I would like to install the Tablet Fire OS 5.6.1.0 on a fire phone so I can get all the extras that come along with it. Has anyone tried this, is it even possible? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
Recently I tried install the Leanback on Fire Launcher on my Fire TV stick 4K. It was working just fine for a few days but now whenever I boot it up it instantly crashes. Does anyone know how how I could fix this or what might be wrong with the app?

Update: I'm an idiot, I had a faulty version of GMS (from a failed manual gapps install) installed that was causing it to crash. I removed it and now it's no longer crashing.
