I know both the SD and Exynos Note 7 have the usb c connector and SD Note 7 supports usb 3.1.
Does the Exynos Note 7 also support usb 3.1?
Negative

I do not know the details but look into stickmount. I've never used it but it sounds like what you need.

I found this Micro USB OTG to SD Card Reader For Samsung GT-N7000 Galaxy Note i9100 S2 SII 2 and was wondering if this would work on my rooted nexus 7?

I have a cheap otg cable that works perfect for my nexus 7 and gs3. And by perfect I mean perfect. I wanted to push the limits with it on my s3 and n7, with out any apps or putting any settings in I ran a 4 port USB hub with a wireless mouse, wired keyboard and an 8gig pen drive from both the nexus and the galaxy. Both can read a 1tb hard drive too as long as it has its own power supply. So far the only I can't get to run nicely is the HP printer my partner has but yeah I got mine for $8 with a free case, and everything runs as soon as its plugged it.
Good luck!!
PS
If you can get a right angle one. I regret not getting one it would be easier to use and hide then.

yes
So on samsungs website also bestbuy a d quite a few others. They advertise the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 with USB 3.O. but obviously it has the standard micro USB port. Unlike Note 3 USB 3.0 style USB port.
Did they somehow make the normal style micro USB 3.0? Or is it false advertizing?
It's usb2.0

Is quick charge v1.0 supported on the Nexus 7 2013?, I saw that it's supposed to support Snapdragon 600 and v2.0 on 400/800 products but I can't get the following charger
www.amazon.co.uk/Auzest-Qualcomm-Qu...d=1435249946&sr=1-8&keywords=quick+charge+2.0
to draw more than the stock Asus AC charger of 1,000-1,050mA.

If I edited the kernel to draw 2,000mA over AC would it damage the battery?
No our tablet has snapdragon s4 pro which doesn't support it

But the Nexus 4 uses the s4pro also doesn't it?
Nexus 7 2013 supposively has a PM8921 charging chip what does the Nexus 4 / quick charge 1.0 compatible devices use?
The elemental X kernel has quick charge support so I imagine that the tablet does

I'm have no idea why Samsung packaged their type C 3.1 phone with a USB 2.0 cable and not even a C to C cable for higher transfer speeds. I understand why the Nexus 6P didn't as it didn't have 3.0 integrated, but this is just a strange move.
I'm pretty sure the Note 7 only supports usb 2 speeds.
At least the Exynos version.

USB v3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector
And when plugged into my computer it states that it can run at a faster speed when using the 2.0 cable.
Took me about 13 seconds to transfer a 600MB file to my Note 7 from my desktop... I'm pretty sure it's supporting USB 3.0, but I'm using snapdragon
When i plug mine into a usb 2.0 port it says "transfers would be faster if you plugged into a superspeed port". Snapdragon here too.
