Hello,
I'm French so the translation may not be very precise
So here I am looking to be filmed on the Galaxy SII (I9100) in 30 Mbit bitrate video and 192 kbit 48 000 Khz on cyanogenmod 10.1 (android 4.2.2) ??
I searched XDA but compatibility is jelly bean 4.1.2 and ICS.
Is there a mod compatible with CyanogenMod 10.1 ?
Thanks !! :good:

Dear Team,
I am on latest CM10.1 nightly. Its been a while since i moved on to CM10.1 . I am experiencing camera pics quality issue with CM10.1. Before CM10.1, images were fine and with less blur. But with CM10.1, images taken with camera app are very hazy and blurry. I've tried playing with all settings and auto but the results are same. Though, images come less hazy and blurry when ISO set to 100.
I think this is because of the software, because images quality were great when i was on stock ICS. Kindly, guide me accordingly, whether i need to change any settings / install any new camera app. Also, i do have HDR Camera+ app installed. There is a noticeable quality difference though not that much. I've heard about Camera FV-5 app and its rep o. Is it worth it? Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Video/Audio Recording Mod
OS Version: TW 4.2.2 (will be making a 4.3 version soon)
Notice: Higher bitrates increase file sizes. Please keep this in mind when recording. We should all know this by now so I won't say anything else about it.
Also I suggest recording to internal memory if you're external sdcard has low write speeds. eg. you're using one from 5 years ago.
1080p New (Stock)
Video:22 Mbps (17 Mbps)
Audio: 320 kbps (128 kbps)
1440x1080 (4:3)
Video:17 Mbps (13 Mbps)
Audio: 320 kbps (128 kbps)
720p
Video:15 Mbps (12 Mbps)
Audio: 320 kbps (128 kbps)
Audio Info:
Sampling Rate: 48 kHz on all which is stock.
Channels: 2
I'm probably going to drop the 1440x1080 profile and just take 720p to 17 Mbps since I don't think anyone uses that resolution much. Also, the FPS is still 30 but I'll try to increase it. There is the option for 6 channels using LPCM but I'm leaving it at 2. My first attempt using 6 channels came up with nothing useful and I'm not sure what the quality will be like anyway.
Questions:
Will this work with 4.3?
Yes it should. I'm not using a 4.3 Rom so let me know. I'll make one for 4.3 soon.
Will this work with an AOSP Rom?
No. You need TW framework to use it.
Can this be done for AOSP Roms?
Not really. The bitrates and such are more kernel/HW controlled in AOSP. Yes, a kernel could be made to adjust the properties of the gallery (camera) app but I don't mess with kernels - at all. Not my thing. That being said - it was done on the Nexus 4 and I'll post the link here when I find it if someone wants to try.
Any bugs or issues so far?
None that I've ran in to and I've been using/testing this for about a month now.
If you have any issues, requests, or other questions let me know. If you'd like to know how to do this, see my sig and click on the links. Just make sure to hit the "Thanks" button if you use my work.
Link to flashable zip. This also includes a modified media_profiles.xml (Too large to upload here so I uploaded to my Google Drive)
Will test tomorrow, but I very rarely record video. I appreciate your work nonetheless.
And, congrats on knocking up the wife. :good:
Will this be your first child?
Yeah its my first. I'm trying not to dwell on all the details to much.

I really would like this.
As far as I can see from the video, the anti-shake option needs some work though, i'm getting seasick.
Would love to see a slowmo video preview!

How is development going? Seems very promising.
Seriously, Mods, can you lock this thread. It's been nearly a month and there is not even a viable link to an application. It's really quite stupid for someone to post about something they plan to do with nothing to actually show. I could easily post a thread with screenshots claiming I have ported Windows Phone 8 OS to Android and then say "Coming Soon", that means nothing. If there is no link to an actual item then the thread should not exist.
I think this is a fake.. As my knowledge it's impossible to record 120fps without hardware support..

I really doubt a mod could make my gnex camera shoot 1080p photos lol.

Yes, if you want more than 30fps. For 30 fps just use gcam/stock
best of the best [emoji1360]
Hi!
what about 4k? both stock and gcam support 4k vido recording too, not just 1080p!
Works just perfect
Thank you

Glad to see that someone has managed to fix Xiaomi ****ty camera libs!
How did you managed to get this result? I mean, was this a camera hw problem and you made a workaround like lowering the exposure, or the camera libs from xiaomi are faulty?
May I ask you if the front camera picture quality may be improved? Because the same module on other phones makes high quality and clear pictures, while on MI A1 they are brownish and like there are artifacts over (seems like a sort of beautification that reduces details)
Thank you very much for your work!

Xiaomi Mi A1 has this front cam module
Samsung S5K5E8 BSI, also used in Redmi Note 4 16GB, Redmi Pro, Vernee Apollo Lite and*Meizu M3 Note.*
This is a selfie from M3 Note

It's clear and has very natural colors
Hi, do you know how we can get the same result in Instagram camera?
It could be interesting
Thank you
Can you please share this for 8.1?
If only someone could fix the viewfinder low fps (In lowlight) in photo mode
Just like how iPhone has a silky smooth viewfinder when taking a picture
EDIT: whell, i managed to install it with Magisk Manager... But the only diference i've noticed is a lot slower camera starting... Video recording still gets down to 20fps on dark scenes with stock, snapdragon and Gcam... Only the front camera gets better fps with Gcam...
What am i doing wrong?

The fix for the camera starting slow is to flash "slow camera fix" or something like that (Just type Mi A1 on magisk and you'll find it)
As for the fps, It works perfectly fine as I have just flashed the mod and video fps in both snapchat and Gcam is smooth and not laggy like before

Thank you. Already installed that fix and it's fine now. But i still can't get the mod to work for the back camera.. On snapdragon cam if i select high speed 120fps, it will record very fast besides of lots of noise. But in normal mode it gets fps drop... With Gcam(mod for non rooted phones) it gets fps drop... Or do i have to install the one for rooted phones?
Wanted to kick off the conversation about enabling high frame rate video recording on the Pixel 3. I just found out the Pixel 3 supports 1080p 120 FPS rear camera video recording. It's even advertised in their camera specs.
The Google Camera APK currently only supports 30fps or "Auto", which is god awful as it fluctuates FPS and doesn't even reach ~55 FPS in bright settings. Aside from enabling a constant 60 FPS option (like the Pixel 2), is there a way to enable the 120 FPS setting as well? Would this require a custom ROM that changes the Pixel 3 source code, or is the only thing necessary a patched APK of Google Camera? I'm wondering if it's also possible to do this through a Magisk module.
Happy to hear any ideas on how we all could enable 60/120 FPS as the hardware clearly supports it. Furthermore, the Snapdragon 845 supports 4K 60 FPS recording. This makes me believe that it may be even possible to enable 4k 60 FPS which would be amazing. It's really unfortunate we have to revert to an awful 30 FPS for 1080p recording after the Pixel 2 had a 60 FPS option. Thanks in advance.
this doesn't belong here
you should ask this to be moved to general

I also think its possible. The Hardware is definitely ready for this.
On my old Nexus 5X there were some guys that enabled 1080p/60fps through some edits of the camera lib's. Maybe this will happen too on the P3XL.
Also the Snapdragon 845 is listed with up to 2.8GHz but Google decided to ship the P3 with
2.5GHz but that is another point.
Maybe im wrong

That is correct the 845 goes up to 2.8 ghz and Google under clocked it to 2.5 but a custom kernel can easily fix that. I upped mine back to 2.8 and still have great battery life.
hope Google will fix it
Guys google isn't going to do this.

Yea I was hoping Google would include the 60 FPS video recording option on the Pixel 3 with their monthly updates but so far nothing. After this sparse January 2019 Pixel 3 update (only audio fixes) I've lost some hope that Google will ever add these high frame rate options. It's a real shame that the Pixel 2 can record at a constant 60 FPS, while the Pixel 3 cannot.
where is camera mod enabling this for stock?
Make the P3xl Camera Great Again
I'm also in support of this mod. Anyone aware of a dev working on this that I can track/follow?
Maybe we could motivate the dev of the Mod for the Pocophone to give it a try? ?
There is even a new magisk module for Samsung exynos devices to activate [email protected] So I would be surprised if it were impossible for our Pixel.
I tried to edit some xml lol but it doesn't let me save the changes
