Getting SD card is full with Adoptable storage - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
Have an HTC 10 with a 32GB SD card formated as Adoptable storage.
I am getting an error (SD card is full) while trying to take a photo and some strange freezing when trying to download photos sent through viber.
The SD card is in deed full but there is still internal memory available.
How can i fix the problem? What is the sense of Adoptable storage in that case?

[Q] Swap SD Card with internal Storage

I am running low on storage on my S4 mini, and with CM11 that doesn't allow moving apps to the SD card things are getting worse.
Samsung has formatted the device is such a way that the internal storage is recognised as "sdcard0", I don't know why they did it and I don't care.
Is there a way to swap my internal storage with my sd card? I have a 32gb class 10 sd card and i think it is more than enough for use as internal storage.
Thanks

[Q] SD Card Inaccesable

Hello everyone,
Since a few days my backups fail and when I took a look it said: SD Card inaccessible or insufficient space. (the app I use is EaseBackup)
I still have 48 Gb free on my external memory and 6 on my internal, so insufficient space does not seem to be a problem.
I am aslo able to acces all files and folders on the internal and external memory and move them around, so the SD Card is not defective.
Does anyone know what might be the problem and how I can fix it?

Transferring SD adoptable storage to a different SD card

Hello,
i have been using adoptable storage for a while and i like it.
My adopted card however is getting close to full so i would like to switch to a larger one.
Has anyone done this? Is there anyway to transfer the data from the old to the new adopted card?
I dont have enough space on the phone memory itself to move everything back to the internal storage.
i can move pics and music to an hdd but not sure about apps and associated data that is on the card.
Thanks in advance!
You can send all files in sd card with a secondary app like zapya to computer and resend them to sd card when you adopted new sd card in your phone
Have you looked at HTC SyncManager?
I wasnt aware of these options i will look into them and report.
Thank you
Shouldn't it work if you just copy everything on your SD card to a PC, place the new SD card, format it as internal storage, copy everything back and restart?
I'm not sure if this works, but your apps are still installed on internal storage, only app data is placed on SD card.
Check settings > storage
If you tap on your internal storage, there should be some GB at apps and just a few MB on your SD card.

Except that pulling the adopted storage eviscerates the file system...
The only strategy I could fathom would be to duplicate the image onto the new SD card plugged in USB-OTG. If that were even possible, a concern would be changes during copy, making it inconsistent.
converted to adoptable storage but no data import option in the SD Card in storage
I am using a Samsung galaxy S5 and i converted my SD card to adoptable storage using adb shell process. after that there are two options showing in storage settings, internal storage and SD card.
Is it converted to Adoptable storage? If yes then why is there no option of importing data in the menu of 'SD card' storage option.
and how can i transfer from internal to SD card. or can make use of adoptable storage properly?

Issue formatting sd card to internal storage

Hi there, i just got myself a moto z play and am trying to format my sd card as internal storage.
I keep getting the error not enough space, after formatting to internal and trying to move over data, even though the sd card is empty. The card works as i have tested it by moving my pictures and music onto the card and it seems to work fine, then i backed them up and tried to re-format it back to internal storage and it still says not enough free space when i try to click the "move now" option after formatting for internal.....
any ideas would be great. thanks.
BTW its a stock phone only running nova launcher. not rooted.
What about sd card spec, share the technical spec with make and model

format sd card to internal memory

Hello forum,
i´m about to purchase a xiaomi mi a2 lite 64gb 4gb ram and i am concerned that these 64gb of storage wont be enough for me.
i like the idea of Android one and the benefits of it (sleek, needs not much space and so on ... ) and i want to use the stock android.
i already found out that you can format an sd card as internal storage but can anyone of you tell me if you can use this normally with the same speed as the internal storage?
have you made any experiences with an sd card formated as internal storage ?
If yes, which sd card functions properly as an internal storage?
thanks!
High there,
The Samsung 128 Gb works perfectly. noissues with speed so far
Cheers
External SD cards are always worlds slower compared to the internal storage. I really wouldn't suggest to use the card as adoptable storage, better use it as portable storage. Use the internal storage for apps+their data und store pictures, movies, Spotify and such stuff on the external SD.
If your phone breaks, you can't read SD cards formatted as adoptable storage with any other device, because it's encrypted and bound to that unique device.
Pie update solves this issue I think. Just got it today.
