My fast charge is enabled.. but the device randomly started charging slowly.. taking forever to charge.. 3h+ at 20% for a full charge?!? It was never this slow..I booted into safe mode and restarted the device.. no fix. Anyone have similar issues or can help?
I sometimes have this issue with my car charger. I have to fully unplug the charger and the cable from the charger then put it all back and it works again. used to happen with my v10 and the wall charger too
I did everything and still nothing.. everything is OEM

Maybe you have one of the bad battery packs.

Is this wireless charging or with a cable? My fast charge wireless took me 2 hours from 35% to 100%.

Funny thing is.. is that this was occurring on my GF Note 7 charging cable.. I just got home and the fast charge works on my own cable. Does she have a faulty cable???

Could be a possibility, if 1 of the data pins in a usb charger/cable are messed up or not contacting properly, it may put the device into a slow safe charge current.

Having the same problem. Even worse, when i plug the OEM cable in one way, the phone decides to flicker charging(charges for 1 sec, then stops, and repeats).
Another problem that I'm having is that my phone is supplying power via usb randomly? when it does that I have to charge it, then disconnect it.
My phone is defective, pretty sure...

Pretty sure the imei checker is just to see if the phone is part of the 2.5 million phone recall and not an actual defective device.

Does it charge on the wall okay? I would try a different kernel out, see if that remedies it. If not, I would be suspicious of a damaged/faulty USB cable(they do/can go bad), or a faulty battery. Have you tried clearing your battery stats yet? I would do that, as well.

I'm guessing battery too, sprint should have a machine to check it by the way...

It's happened to me a few times. Sometimes the cable wiggles or something I guess.
I just unplug and replug and its fine.

I've had this happen consistently over the past few weeks, only with my car dock though. It charges fine both in my dock at work and on the standard charger at home. I'm using a Seidio dock, and I've done multiple things to find the issue. Both my wife and I have EVO 4g's with Seidio car docks. I swapped my dock for hers, no change. I swapped out the charging cable, no change. I used a different charger, no change. I tried my normal setup on my wife's phone, no change.
I don't know what else to do to figure the issue out. I have ordered a new charger that supplies 2.1A, as I've read that a low charger output could be the issue.
I am confused, as this combination has worked fine for about 8 months now. Why all of a sudden is it no longer charging properly? The battery could be the issue, as I know that the chemistry changes over time, but I'd like to know for certain before swapping out the battery.
I'd love to hear from others who are having the same issue.
Seidio Dock issue?
I've seen a few other posts with the same problem. Particularly this one: Post #1175
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16499063&postcount=1175
The one thing that is similar is that he is using the same car dock as I am, the Seidio dock.
I've been playing with this a bit, and have managed to isolate it to the Kernel. I flashed back to MikFroyo and the problem disappeared. It charged perfectly fine.
In Gingerbread (MikG 2.42), with both the stock Kernel and the Freedom Kernel, the phone won't charge properly in the dock. I've been keeping an eye on it with Battery Monitor Widget. Here are the results:

While I am driving, the kernel is showing a 100% full battery, however, it is discharging instead of going into the float mode. As soon as the phone is removed from the dock, it goes from 100% down to 80%. When I put it onto a desk charger, it charges fine with a normal float charge. If I remove the cord from the Seidio dock and plug it into the phone (with a mini -> micro USB adapter), it will charge normally and go into float mode.
Something was changed in the GB Kernel update that affected this behavior. Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer to get that deep to find out where the problem is.
Is there any help possible from anyone???
This always happens to me on AOSP roms. If you happen to be on an AOSP rom, just plug the charger back in then take it out.

I've tried that previously with no luck. I'm using a Sense ROM, currently MikG 2.42, but I had the same issue with the stock GB ROM.
Thanks for the suggestion.
So I've been charging my phone lately with the same charger I've been using for the past year, its a non official HTC micro usb wire attached to the the htc charging socket. So I've been charging my phone during the day with the ps3 and everytime I stick it on I get a notification of it being connected and it goes in to usb charging only mode. I started using the ps3 since one day ago as a charger when their are no sockets on the ports where all the plugs are in. So the issue is when I charge it via ps3 it charges, when I charge it via the normal wire method like I have been doing for the past year only twice it has worked, it will charge to 5-10% then it will start dropping sometimes saying their is more current being used but even if a switch the device off it still has issues.
When I use other micro usb chargers whether it be sg4 or a Nokia it begins to charge but it doesn't charge from the charger I have been using for a year you may say the charger is messed up but it charges fine via ps3 using the same wire. Its just weird how I'll charge it for 5-6 hours the red light will show on the notification the battery will keep on dropping or will stay at a constant level.
If you look at the graph it will show you when the screen was switched off and how long it was charging for more while it's charging look at the graph of percentage of battery it barely increases.

I just got the LG G3 a few days ago and its charging at a rate of over 18+ amps! (Over 18000+ mA). My phone was on 35% about 10 min ago. Now it is at 63%. This is the first time i checked the charge current for this phone. My previous phone was a galaxy s3 and it averaged a charge current of 0.8-1.1 amps. I am not sure if this is a good or bad thing. My phones temp doesnt seem hot, also its charging incredibly fast. If anyone has had this happen please reply. I know this is not normal. I took a screenshot of the charge monitor. The app i used. To test the currents was "Battery Monitor Widget". In the picture you will see a red circle with a arrow pointed to it. That is the time when i took the charger off and replaced it with my other adapter but kept using the same cable.

That is wicked, though it had me scared! I tested wireless charging (I bought an insert for the back from AliExpress.com to make it Qi compatible) and also tested from the power adapter given to me with the phone. Below the yellow line is wireless charging and above is with the stock power cable. Notice that they are 0.5mAh different, but the mV is the same, so they charge about the same. Interesting! I'll have to test this further.
Cheers for posting this!
This could be why I burnt through a series of chargers a few weeks ago.....
Ok so I am now using the standard charger that i get up to 1800mA with. I gotta say though my charger that i modified charged my phone lightning fast with no heating issues as well or damaging of the battery. Unfortunately the modified charger can only be used with the newer phones. I had it tested with the galaxy s4, galaxy s5, and the htc one m8. But the only newer phone that didnt work with was the one plus one. The LG G3 definitely had the highest amp charge out of all of the phones. I will be doing more tests soon. But just to be safe i will be using my normal charger while i am away from the phone or when im sleeping. Here is the screenshot of the current charge with the stock charger.

Highly doubt that app is reporting accurately.
Omg can believe you guys are missing the mA flow ... +5197mA (+199.88%) per hour
These aren't output from your power adapter, it's a tally of how many mA have been recorded. Also from looking at your notification bar you have two blue tooth devices one of which isn't fully charged. There's a good chance this app doesn't account for that.
If you are using the standard charger, you can get 9 watts from it. No more. Given the voltage of the battery of 4v, there's little reason to think you could really be charging more than about 2200mA actual current into device, probably less due losses. For the the a 3000mAh battery, this means about 75 minutes to charge. I think the app is reporting something else or we are miss interpreting the data.

Hi guys, anybody has an idea why is my SM-T320 is changing that slow. It almost cannot reach 100% even if I keep it 13hrs or more on the charger. Reboot doesn't help, maybe if I switch it off is a little bit faster, but not so sure.
Thanks in advance.
Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk
Yeah sometime it happens with this device my best advise is don't try force charging it (leaving it plugged in), it will only make it worse and damage / overheat the batt..
Do this instead leave it at the current charge and use the tablet until the battery is down to about 10-15% then reboot the tablet, see if the percent changes as this forces the tablet to re-evaluate the battery, then fully shut down press the power button down for 5 - 10 seconds and choose power off.
plug the tablet into the samsung charger (don't use unofficial chargers/ cables if possible), it should reach 100% now.
some other things I have tried that can help
I have a cable that monitors the amperes and sometimes I notice the tablet doesn't request enough feed from the charger (it starts trickling at like 100mA) usually when its almost nearly charged,
so sometimes if you force keep the screen on with moderate or full brightness, and power saver turned off while charging this causes the charger to send more current and you will notice it will say 100% a lot faster, so that is another thing you can try.
As a last resort you can re-seat the battery but I would only suggest that in extreme cases.
[email protected] , thanks. Last night exactly at midnight i put it on the charger, it was on 50% like. After 7 hours it was 95% . I rebooted it and after 3 minutes it was 100%.

I was having the same problem, changing the usb cable did the trick...
I tried with my i9505 charger which is the same but again the same issue. Actually for example when reaches 30% it stops you have to reboot the device to continue chargin. Sometimes but not very often it charges normally.
Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk
Yeah it's very picky sometimes I wonder if it's temperature related, mine was never as bad as yours but I have seen it stop at around 95% a few times, I have an amper cable and it reads like 100mA - 50mA (in standby, 0mA - 10mA if wifi is off), sometimes unpluging the charger and re-pluging it in gets it going again.
You could try to fully shut the tablet down, and keep it off for 24hours - let everything kindof reset and discharge (like if it was exposed to ESD) , shame samsung didn't include a reset button since that would be like pulling the battery.
You might have the same battery problems many of us have, check the link in my signature on how to fix it.
I had that problem too.
Tried drain the battery end then it would sometimes charge to full but after 1 or 2 charging cycles the problem re-occured again.
Reseating the battery was the solution for me. After i have done that the problem never occured again. ( 8 months ago )
I believe it's somehow related with the smartcase. You guys have smartcases?

No, dont use any case.
I dont believe it is heat related. The onlu thing i did was disconnect the battery and reconnect. After i have done that it was like i had an new battery.
No problems with charging anymore and a little bit more stamina.
Dont know why, but many of us had this problem and this seems to fix that "bug".
I use an amp cable (shows the current flow), if the reading is less then 1880mA (at 50% or less) then I unplug the charger and cable use the tablet alittle more then re-plug it in - hasn't failed me yet
I think I found a solution :
Leave the device to complete discharge until it switch off by it self. Then put the charger but don't switch it on. Let it charges to 100%. I did that 3 times. Now I successfully charged it to 100% 2 times without switch it of.
The reason why I am looking for that kind of solution is because I have warranty, but Samsung will keep it for like 2-4 weeks.

Actually when you have disconnect and connect battery, the battery connector doesn't make good contact with pins of the black battery connector on main board.
The fix is very simple, push the clips of battery cable closer

How to do it with a thin knife

My 3 years old Note II - N7100 is acting weird since few months, when I connect to charger it takes more than 12 hours to full charge. I connect it to charger overnight, and when I see in the morning it's just around 60%, it charges 60% in 8-9 hours.
But this keeps changing, few nights ago it charged only 20% overnight.
I changed my 3 years old battery thinking that might be a problem, bought Intex 2500mah one , same problem. Changed chargers, I usually use my Note 5's original charger but no use. I was using custom Rom - Eclipse, then flashed original Rom but still problem persist. I thought my usb port must be faulty so ordered usb flex from eBay and changed it, but didn't work, actually after installing new usb flex, my mic stopped working but charging showed same - 12+ hours time, so returned it.
So what you think is the problem? Should I buy new original battery or try another usb flex? I am frustrated. Sorry for long Question.

Try to test using a different cable... and also check if your adapter is working properly...
most of the time the cable is at fault...
Install app galaxy charging current and see what current your charger and cable is giving should be around 1500. Most of time cable and charger is at fault. Hope it helps

I had the same problem. Mine solved by charging the device couple of times while it's off. Now the device gets charged in 2-3 hours.
Problem solved, after trying everything changing cable worked. My note 5 cable charges my note 5 fast but same cable takes 20 hrs to charge note 2, combination of note 5 adapter and gionee cable worked. Now it takes around 2 hours to full charge my note 2.
Thanks everyone.
