I Installed the MM rom, and now it's just stuck there. I wiped the cache, reinstalled it, everything. Is it supposed to stay here for initial boot?

I guess the title says it all. I've wiped the cache from fastboot as well. Done the whole thing twice, in the order of factory reset, wiping the cache, flashing the boot image, flashing the ROM. Still stuck on the CyanogenMod logo going round and round and round. :/
Side note: this might be stupid to ask, but is it possible to flash a new ROM in recovery without factory reset?
Hi,
I got a problem updating my Galaxy S5 (klte):
I'm running 14.1 2017-05-17_nightly (Android 7.1.1), which I want to update with TWRP 3.1.0-1
After update I get stuck during boot. I hangs showing the LOS logo for hours. The only solution is to du a fresh reinstall. Recovering previously backed-up app data from Titanium works well, but recovering system settings results in a bootloop again, it happens no matter if I wipe Cache/Dalvik or not.
I tried flashing another nightly (which worked, as a clean install, not as an update) and updating from there on. But same results. Any update from any version gets me stuck. Only thing that works is a complete wipe and reinstall.
I also flashed a stock ROM with Odin, reinstalled TWRP, flashed LOS, but still updating results in a bootloop.
Having to go through a clean reinstall for every update is really time consuming.
Any idea what is going on here?
Hi everyone, recently I flashed Pixeldust rom with the twrp recovery (I did all the wipe: sistem, all both cache and data before flash). Everything seems worked fine but when I tried to reboot the system, my cell stuck on bootloop. It loads the half first animation of the rom, with the flying dots by google and after it goes in bootloop. I tried everything, I don't know if depends from rom. I tried to flash other roms and it happens the same things. Please help me.
EDIT: after pixeldust I also flashed Pixelrom but the result was the same.
Every few months I usually wipe my phone to give it that fresh running feeling. I wiped my AT&T note 4 from recovery and wiped cache today and the phone boots and gets stuck at the AT&T logo. I thought it was strange and so I booted into recovery again and again tried to factory reset and wipe cache.
If it matters my phone is currently on version U2EPK1 and I've never encountered anything like this before on this phone.
Any tips for progression?
