I can't flash it, it just comes up with that error that you talked about (E: unknown command [log]). Is there a fix for this?
Please don't quote the OP...

I could be wrong, but I think there's two kernels. One is AOSP and one works on the Sony AOSP. I couldn't get that kernel to boot. So far I can only get the unified 3.10 kernel to boot.
On a bit of a side note, I everyone here that has flashed the ROM has an unlocked bootloader I presume. Now, I have seen a couple posts about loss of camera quality, and a couple of other features not working, but it's always been a bit vague. Can anyone here shed some light on their experience with it, and if it's a huge difference, or if it's negligible.
Also, I've made a TA partition backup, has anyone ever restored one, and if so, does it work after the new bootloader+ recovery configuration, or only for the old standard.
I know this should probably be in general, but this is the only ROM I'd unlock it for, perhaps PA as well, and so I figured I'd post here.

In general unlocking the bootloader will decrease the camera quality especially in low light.
As for the TA partition backup, yes everything works fine after restoring it, just make sure when you restore it that you are on a stock rom because it will relock bootloader automatically, doing so on non stock rom will cause soft brick.

considering I bought this phone for a dev phone I didn't really care much about this. Plus I had already unlocked it when I found out about all this too, but if you care about your photo quality you want to back up your TA partition.

I've also unlocked the boot loader for those ROMs. Depsite I was really interested they are not usable as a daily driver, just to warn.
To be clear: PA Android ROM has major issues with screen flickering that make it almost unusable, app crashes and others. This 7.0 ROM still has some flickering but app where not crashing on my device.
The camera quality issue with unlocked bootloader depends by users usage standards, it means that if you use you Z3 as a camera, and really often, you should not unlock it, if you don't (like me) you are good to go.
Not really a problem the loss of on screen colors filters.
About the TA Partition restore I can confirm the whole thing actually works, I restored the partition once. I've also found a problem with that anyway, the original TA Backup doesn't support Z3 on restore (or at liste mine running MM). Fortunately somewhere out there, there is an updated TA-Backup.bat that supports Z3.
Now I'm not able to find the thread or the post with that file, but if you copy and paste the error from the original TA app it should pop up easily on google.
It works on Windows 10 64bit as July 2016, not checked the anniversary edition. Wrote that cause in 2015 someone wrote down that TA was not working in Windows 10.

@SuperHanss bro, I can't seem to boot into fastboot/flashmode/recovery with this kernel (When connecting the cable it starts normal boot procedure). I can access fastboot mode using advanced reboot menu in AndroidOS. Just reporting
Edit: Whoops my bad, didn't notice I connected it to wall output xD Btw, still can't access recovery tho.
Connected wifi with no internet connection.
Unable to access recovery.

Did you follow step 1? Use MultiROM or TWRP. If you choose to use TWRP then unpack the zip and extract the recovery.img, then follow the installation instructions here.

I had some issues following those steps to install TWRP 2.8.5+ using CM12.1, so I used the one that came with the ROM (by flashing its boot.img) and it worked just fine, I guess. It's 2.6.3.0 though, so I'll try to reinstall the ROM if I manage to get TWRP 2.8.5 working.
However, my battery stats are acting weird. I'm attaching some screenshots and a little log I captured right after the screenshots. Thermanager just keeps popping up every five seconds on the last part, but I'm attaching a long one so you can see other stuff going on (I don't quite catch some parts of the logs, maybe I should do a crash course to see if it's normal or not xD). I've been on WiFi all day, had strong cellular signal, sent and received a couple of calls and watched about half an hour of YouTube, totalling about 2hs SOT. However, BBS shows I've been out of cellular data since I unplugged it, and the phone's battery info screen shows it had about 4H SOT, and mobile network consumption of about 45%. Also, Youtube shows an abnormally high network usage of 1GB.
Could this all be cause by flashing the ROM with an old TWRP build?
Thanks again for mantaining for Odin, BTW! Things were getting kinda slow on this side of the Z ;D
gapps
Can anyone tell me which gapps to install I have an error while installing it

Coming from another ROM:
1. You must have either MultiROM installed, or TWRP 2.8.5+ recovery installed to the FOTA partition (flashing instructions in the Yuga TWRP thread). Using either of these options allows recovery to survive ROM updates!
2. Wipe your device if you are not coming from PA 5.+ already.
3. Flash the ROM zip.
4. Flash the GAPPS (5.1 remember!).
5. Flash SuperSU (optional).

im using c6502 ..my wifi not turning on after flash
---------- Post added at 10:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:58 AM ----------
my wifi not turning on after flashing....plz help
Cannot get into recovery.
As same as someone reported before, I can't go into recovery. How can I flash latest TWRP and newer installments? Help is appreciated
CocoSenpai READ the FIRST POST there is a link to a yuga thread telling you STEP BY STEP how to do it!!
nandhul30 WIFI not turning ON ? what does that even mean?? post some logs not meaningless text. do you really expect someone to help you without any real information to go on?? and why would you quote the OP - maybe so CocoSenpai can read it?? so thoughtful!
Hello,
i have Problems flashing Recovery too. Before i had installed the twrp 2.8.5 from the CM12.1 thread. Everything was ok.
Now i flashed the twrp from this Thread, and everything went ok but when i reboot to Recovery it starts the Cyanogen Recovery.
What went wrong?
Edith: I read something about the Ram Hack for the Yuga. Can i it also use with Odin?
Etith2: I answered myself! Yes, the Ram Hack works. after flashing it, i was able to flash TWRP.
After a little bit Testing, i see, that i don't have write access to the external SD!? Any other have this Problem?
Edith: I found a Solution.
open ......./ system /etc/ permissions/platform.xml and here you found "WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" and here you add this row: <group gid="media_rw" /> than reboot.

I did that before posting, but for any reason I installed adb tools from Google but couldn't make it work. I have latest TWRP nightly for Odin and USB drivers, link to Yuga's post isn't very helpful to me.
I even tried to open Terminal Emulator but after command input it says "device not connected".
Works like charm :good:
Thank you so much
are there any plans to integrate Xposed framework or any other mods?

LineageOS 14.1 is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1. (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Requirements
* You must read this post completely
* You must have flashed a stock MM update to update the firmware to a version that is compatible with these builds. Search XDA for the best way to do so for your device.
* You must use the search first and make sure your question has not been answered yet!
* Do NOT ask for the availability of features or if any specific app works - we implement / announce new features when we want to
* Use the latest TWRP available (3.0.2.0), else expect issues
* If you have a problem, do not ask if someone else has it. Post with logs or don't post at all!
Code:
[COLOR=RED][B]Important note:[/B][/COLOR]
Stock Firmware B360 and B370 are known to cause bootloops!
(Generally: if your stock ROM supports VoLTE it is likely that it is also affected!)
All others might work, please do not ask in here how to up- or downgrade!
Known Issues / NOT working / "Bugs"
* Search the thread!
* Anything running VoLTE firmware
* You tell me! (See "Other Issues")
Everything else WORKS, do NOT ask if anything (feature, function, ...) specific is working or not (Search the thread if you want to make sure and if you don't find it: test it yourself)
Other Issues?
Before posting on this thread, make sure of a few things:
You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates us more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking or ask the same question over and over again.
If you are the only one having a problem: boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
LOGS LOGS LOGS!!!!
Press BOTH volume keys + power key - it will vibrate very short. Wait until a notification appears that the bugreport is ready, send it to your mail and post it.
Alternatively go to dev options (press "build number" in "About phone" 7 times to activate it), activate the switch "Shortcut for bugreport", then go to Settings->Keys->Power key and activate it there as well. Long press power-key and then use the new menu item.
Only if rooted:
Use this: SysLog by Tortel
If you have a hard reboot (to the vendor boot logo, not the LineageOS boot logo), use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of "console-ramoops" after the reboot and provide that.
Code:
adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops
Note: We will not support any kind of modification on the ROM not done by our sources. If you are running XPosed, Kernel Booster or whatever occurs to you, we won't support you in any way. The problem will in every case be treated as the additional softwares' fault (because often it is!)

We are using Open GApps (Link) Arm64 version. (make sure to use 64bit when using other packages), others might also be working
Note: In case you want to use any gapps, YOU MUST install the right gapps the first time that you flash a marshmallow ROM. Do not boot with an older gapps or without one and then try to install it later.
Note: If you install a package which replaces the default dialer (mostly "Stock Gapps") you have to go to Settings->Apps->Gear-Icon and set the new dialer as a default telephony app to prevent force closing of apps
Root addon:
Official download site - our device is ARM64
Don't use SuperSU or other tools, otherwise expect bootloops!
Coming from unofficial 14.1 or CM13?
When you already had an unofficial (pre-official) build installed (or are about to upgrade from CM13 the first time), feel free to install the " experimental" build. As we have tightened security, this build is meant to preserve your data during migration. After you have booted it once, please install the next official nightly to complete the procedure (and get rid of the watermark). Please note that this might fail so always take a backup first!

Installation Notes:
We have tested the upgrade from CM-13.0 (official / unofficial) and a clean install.
It is possible to install LineageOS 14.1 over an existing installation of CM-13.0 by following those steps:
* Download the zip from the link
(* If you have Google Apps installed, you will need to update those as well, download a package for Android 7.1 ARM64 from OpenGApps for example)
* Push zip(s) to device
* Reboot to recovery
* Do a Backup of Boot, System, Data (optional but recommended)
* Choose Install and select the zip of LineageOS 14.1 and read next step before proceeding
* If you want Google Apps, it is required to install them BEFORE you boot into LineageOS the first time
* Install
* Clear cache / dalvik
* Reboot
Please make sure you are aware of the known and the possibility of unknown issues before considering installation!

You Are The Best!
Excellent!!! I am off to test. You the man!
So it begins... going to test this over the weekend
Thanks OP. Have been running it since this morning and it's smooth. I installed both "previous" versions (the 498MB one still with CM and the first 496MB one).
Awesome! Now i'll just wait for the fingerprint, camera and network to be fixed!
Awesome work, love it

What exactly do you mean with "network"? SIM 1 and 2 are working, with data. WiFi is also working like a charm.

You don't want to be running something that was randomly sitting on my download server earlier today. If your build date is before 3pm est then please download and install what is there now.
Earlier builds had problems.
Would be nice to have the expanded desktop version per app to in the next udate . Expanded desktop works fine but only if i turn it on for everything.
Cant choose it per app yet!

General LineageOS issue, not only on our device. (Have reported it)
Please note that requesting something for any update (especially the "next") is not required, we priorize our work items without that
Awesome. This is really a nice year ender announcement for our device. Don't have time to test though. But will definitely flash once the few bugs are fixed.

Flashed it a few hours ago, everything works great (except the things pointed out in the OP). Thank you so much to @crpalmer and @BadDaemon for bringing Nougat goodness to our device. The amazing devs for this phone have made the US$180 I paid sooo worth it
About the fingerprint sensor, is it a safe guess that unless Huawei releases Nougat for our device, the fingerprint sensor won't work? Or is it something else?

At this point all that is safe to assume is that it doesn't work and neither BadDaemon nor I have had a chance to investigate why.
Downloading right now to test. You are the best !!!!
Edit. Installed following the instructions from 1#post (ROM boot, setup. Then gapps and wipes) gapps working perfect. I dont go back to MM for now

Other Issues Not in Known Issues?
Before posting on this thread, make sure of a few things:
You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates me more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking or ask the same question over and over again.
If you are the only one having a problem. Boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
LOGS LOGS LOGS!!!! Use this: SysLog by Tortel
If you have a hard reboot (to the vendor boot logo, not the LineageOS boot logo), use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of
/sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops (command: adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops)
after the reboot and provide that.
Note: We will not support any kind of modification on the ROM not done by our sources. If you are running XPosed, Kernel Booster or whatever occurs to you, we won't support you in any way. The problem will in every case be treated as the additional softwares' fault (because often it is!)
Google apps addon:
We are using Open GApps (Link) Arm64 version. (make sure to use 64bit when using other packages), others might also be working and make sure you download the right version. I do not recommend stock or full or anything that replaces default apps as this has been known to cause problems (e.g. replacing the dialer with a stock dialer can make it crash).
Note: In case you want to use any gapps, YOU MUST install the right gapps the first time that you flash a marshmallow or later ROM. Do not boot with an older gapps or without one and then try to install it later.
Note: If you install a package which replaces the default dialer (mostly "Stock Gapps") you have to go to Settings->Apps->Gear-Icon and set the new dialer as a default telephony app to prevent force closing of apps
Known Issues
None that I am aware of.
If you encounter any other issues, please let me know by filing a bug in JIRA with:
logs
steps to reproduce
carrier
firmware: stock M or N as your last RUU/official update
problems reported without all of this information will usually be ignored and even occasionally flamed...
Coming from my unofficial builds?
When you already had an unofficial (pre-official) build installed, feel free to install the " experimental" build. As we have tightened security, this build is meant to preserve your data during migration. After you have booted it once, please install the next official nightly to complete the procedure (and get rid of the watermark). Please note that this might fail so always take a backup first!

I'm on T-Mobile and US Unlocked Devices and seems like a fantastic release so far. About the camera, not sure which camera you are using that has HDR for testing. I installed the HTC camera from the store but it doesn't work and I don't know how to install Snap camera. The build in camera does take very good pictures though but no advanced features like slow mo and such.
Edit: I think I experienced the Wifi drop. First the LTE was on and the Wifi symbol had an X, then the WIFI symbol disappeared and the wifi search showed no connections to get on. I'll try to get a log if it happens again.
please merge commit in kernel to disable wakelocks

@crpalmer: Home button is still working only with N firmware, right?
I haven't updated to N yet because of multi-ROM not having clean N support. I am running CM (or lineage now) inside multi-ROM as the secondary.
Home button is working with N firmware...

This patch will fix the fingerprint reader/home button. It's an aroma installer, so chose the firmware you're on (6.x/7.x) and flash.
I flashed over CM, just cache/dalvik wipe, working great so far, thank you for your great work!

Hi,
I was running the latest version of Viper. Made a TWRP Backup and now installed LineageOS for testing after a factory reset. At the first boot my phone has been encrypted automatically.
After testing, I restored my TWRP Backup, but now I am asked for my decryption password after reboot I also cannot use TWRP because of a missing password......
Any helping ideas?????
Greetings,
Thomas

Backup your important files and format data under wipe in TWRP. Then flash supersu to decrypt your rom.
Could someone please explain why the phone's current firmware is important? If I install this ROM, perform a full wipe wouldn't just delete everything before installing this new one?
Not sure if this is necessary to change but the build number shows "cm-pme".
Is there a way to disable encryltion before installing?
Or is it better to encrypt manually before?

Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)

How to flash treble roms having /factory instead of /vendor?
* First time custom rom flasher/ coming from ZUI / Never flashed treble rom / Never flashed factory2vendor patch
1. Flash Treble TWRP ( which supports /factory )
2. Flash ROM + GApps etc
* Coming from roms for which you had done factory2vendor conversion
1. Flash Vendor2factory zip

2. Flash new TWRP with /factory support
It will work for both non treble like zui , and treble roms having /factory instead of vendor support
( https://twrp.me/zuk/zukz2.html )
3. IMPORTANT STEP : Reboot to new TWRP
4 Flash rom
5. No need to wipe if coming from same rom
Or

That's fantastic to hear. I'm glad that there are a few Android Pie ROMs available now with support for encryption because I think it's an essential security feature for those of us with unlocked bootloaders.
I am using bootleggers 3.0 rom currently which is a non-treble rom and earlier before that I was using AEX which was a treble rom, so I needed to do factory2vendor and used that specific twrp recovery. What changes should I make before flashing this rom?

Awesomesauce!
Update 1:
I confirm that Encryption is working!!!
Gcam mod(GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V6) working fine, so long as a basic gapps is installed obviously.
Update2:
- Love the new Trebuchet launcher, it allows you to lock/hide apps, for example, you can lock 'Settings' and the 'Google play store app' and let them be opened via fingerprint, works really well
- Clean stock LineageOS UI
- 1% per hour battery drain on standby (noticed over night)
- Power button panel 'Lockdown' option is neat, locks your phone and needs the pin/pattern to open/unlock
- Simple. Clean. Secure!
Coming from another ROM(Don't want to name it because this will become a pissing contest) I miss:
- Launcher allowing double tap to sleep. If you use something like Lawnchair Launcher double tap to sleep requires the app to have admin privileges and when you double tap it does a lockdown, i.e. you need to use the pin to unlock, I googled, this is expected behavior
- Live Display Night mode is not as good as Night Mode lighting elsewhere
Still toying around and trying to tweak to get the best battery life!
Will update this post if I find any issues. Working fine so far
Are there any option to customize u touch or to disable H/W keys?

Here you can find a freshly compiled unofficial LineageOS 16.0 build. This may probably the last build before we go "official" with LineageOS 16 for the Z3!
@NeoArian
Mayby you had hear from the kernel sec flaw which is already activly use in the wild.
It's fixed with the CVE 2015-2215 which comes with 6.october patch level.
I already checked the gerrit page of Lineage OS where i only found a commit for the 5.october level.
So my question is the following:
Do you know whether our z3/z3c gets the fix still or will the sec patch remain at 5.october in the next build from you?
PS: Thanks @ronidianpatisa to create the threads for NeoArian

I think this rom is not working well. Because I'm installing lineage-16.0-20190821-UNOFFICIAL-z3. It works.

Well on my z3 the rom in the 6.10.19 version works. No problems with installation and atm i use it as daily driver.
Only problem which i count is the wifi (my phone doesn't want to connect but the reason could my Router, too; i still don't checked it until now).

While installing the rom, it gives me that "patching system image unconditionally". Can you help about it?

I'm flashing twrp 3.3.1 After that I reboot my phone but it's not working, just black screen. I'm trying that with twrp 3.2.3. The Rom(20191006) is loading but still my phone has a black screen after reboot. Now I loaded again the rom(20190821) with twrp 3.2.3. How can i upgrade it to stable version(20191006)?

Which 3.3.1 twrp did you use? NeoArian has three twrps for the z3 ( 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) on his SourceForge folder.
I'm on 3.3.1-0.4-z3.
Regarding Update:
Probably you could do a dirty flash (unless you activate encryption) but i prefer always a clean flash.

What bugs are there besides those in the topic header? Is the firmware stable to work on an ongoing basis?

the bug matches the one on the topic, and this build can be used as a daily driver
