I have Lollipop, Root & Xposed.
The last days i have seen that Samsung starts to release new versions of the Note 3 Neo Lollipop, as informed from SamMobile, and normally it'll be available and as OTA Updates.
But for us that we are rooted is there any way to install this OTA Update? (e.g. via Chainfire's FlashFire)
Hi

I am rooted and use caulkins rom, this morning I received a OTA update push, should I install it or will it brick my phone?
The update will not install on your device as you have it set up.

ROM, kernel, and modem. you have to be completely stock to install the OTA. Why not just flash a system update from here? Root is usually included.

Hello,
today I heard about an update to android 4.0.4 for the galaxy nexus and more.
I was wondering: I've got the stock rom for the galaxy nexus, but it is rooted. Will I get the official update tot 4.0.4
Thanks in advance

If you are running Stock ROM you should be getting the OTA. Be aware that you also have to have Stock Recovery in order to let the OTA install automatically. Rooting won't alone will not prevent the OTA but you will most probably loose the root and have to re-root.

I just rooted it, nothing more. Thanks for the information, can't wait for the update!
Today I received the new update message, last time it tried to install it itself after 3 times postponed. But for for reason it failed. Is it because the phone is rooted ?
What if AT&T release the Jelly bean update in the future and I want to install it. How do I fix the update error message? Do I need to un-root the phone first ?

+1. I also have stock LEM firmware and I am rooted(everything is stock though). When I try to update to LG1 via OTA, it downloads the update and reboots in CWM and fails to update. When I plugin via Kies to update, it times out.
Is there any way to update to LG1 when you are rooted?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it should work if you have the stock recovery - which in your case you don't but not necessarily in the OP's case. Unless the OP wasn't perfectly clear.
Maybe you need to go back to stock first?

Is there any way I can remove CWM and go back to stock recovery? I rooted my phone using this easy guide http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-r...gh-t999sgh-i747sph-l710-fail-proofnoob-proof/
I am not worry about the minor update from AT&T, we all expect to get Jell Bean soon. Just want to make sure we can download the update and install it properly without any errors. So should we go stock? What will be the steps? Download the stock firmware and use Odin flash it back?
I wouldn't worry about the official update. Usually in a day or two of official release, there will be an official firmware in package in the development section.
Did you mean we can just download the custom jelly bean firmware and install it as custom rom instead of the official one from AT&T? I think that make sense.

When its released, yes. That's one reason there are threads just for stock firmware.
So I got an update notice this morning for my tmo note 2. My phone is rooted but still on stock 4.3 rom. My question is how can I safely update my phone? I can't just update because im rooted right? I'm assuming that the update is the 4.4 update.

If you have root only it should just update. But if you have frozen any apps or modified system files the UPDATE WILL FAIL.. If you are on Custom Recovery The UPDATE WILL FAIL...
You will Loose root of course
Hope this helps..

Do a backup in titanium backup or whatever you use then unroot in supersu and then do a factory reset and it may update fine for you if not you will have to go to an older firmware and do the ota to what your on now and do the ota for kitkat

If you are able to update then please let us know what the update is. I would like to know if it is in fact the long awaited 4.4.2 update.

I haven't updated yet. I'm actually scared of bricking my phone. Im trying to find some step by step instruction for this. I don't have a titanium backup and I don't know how to use them
Im on Stock ANK2, rooted.
I see alot of "how to" do this and that with lollipop ....
So.. is Lollipop available to us now courtesy Sprint eith OTA or Odin'ed?
or are you guys doing custom roms?
thanks
BOB7 .tar hasn't been pulled yet, so you have to take the OTA via Full stock NK2, meaning non-rooted official, not modified firmware.
On touchwiz head to Settings > System Update > Update Now and you should see a dialogue for updating, it won't tell you what firmware it is but its the lollipop firmware, should be 1GB in size.

the method described there worked for me. You download a copy of the stock, unrooted rom, use Odin to flash it, then do an OTA update to get lollipop (it's about a 1gb download). Then you'll download a small file, use Odin to flash it which will give you root, and then you can use Flashify from the app store to put TWRP back on there. Just follow the directions on the above link.

Now all is good at Lollipop.
Now just to re-root.
