I'm getting this notification even though nothing is plugged into the phone. It will lose about 50% battery overnight just because of this. I can tap for more options on the notification but nothing changes. Reboot, factory reset, nothing so far has fixed it. Anyone else seen this?
i have a similar problem too. I tried to charge both of my phones 5x and 6p running nougat via usb c powerbank but my phone transfer the power to the powerbank instead. Tried to change option in the notification it wont work.
I can charge the phone no problem. For some reason, it thinks something is plugged into the USB port. The notification won't go away, and I'm not able to choose any of the options. There are a couple other posts online but no answers yet.

Same here. I can charge the phone, but when I unplug the charger I get a notification that says "USB supplying power to attached device."
I'm running NRD90M on a clean install from factory image. Problem popped up after a few days on new firmware. I have wiped data, cache and dalvik to no avail.
Sounds like a usb port hardware failure...
Just got off the phone with Google and they didn't have an answer either. Nothing helped. So they are replacing the phone.
I was getting the same notification. I'm on O dp4. I was able to fix the problem by downloading ForceDoze from the play store and turning my screen off with the power button. After 30 seconds of my phone sleeping I can wake it up and disable the force doze app and the notification won't return until I plug it back it. The app needs root and you have to enable the notification.
Plugging any cable in whether it was connected on the other end or not would also stop the issue , so you could probably also by a magnetic charger and leave the type c end in.
Same problem here. There's always a notification on screen saying that the phone is supplying power. When I plug in wall charger (original LG), I have to manually select "charge this device" for it to charge.
Hi, has there been any updates on this? I recently purchased a motherboard from here and it is working fine apart from these issues, here are some SS

It obviously discharges battery so fast. Hardly stay on for 10 hours (with no use) It also charges other phones when connected via usb-c usb-c cables.

Hello guys.
Today I woke up to some strange events happening to my phone.
I left my phone turned on while I slept, as usual. When I woke up, I noticed that the phone auto brightness wasn't working at all. It was stuck at the minimum brightness and it wouldn't change even if I pointed the phone at the sun. Rebooting the device did not fix the issue.
After a while I decided to pass some music from the computer to the phone with the cable. The cable kept disconnecting the phone, like it had a bad contact. I had a really hard time to put my music on the phone (lot's of phone and PC reboots).
Then, when I finally put the music in it, I plugged the headphones and tried to listen to music, only to be presented with lots of white noise mixed with the music. The white noise "changed" if I moved the cable thingy. Again, reboot didn't fix the problem. I plugged the headphones in my computer and they worked just fine.
I left the phone alone and went on my business. Some time passed and I noticed that the LED light had a permanent green light that would just not go away. I managed to fix this by rebooting in safe mode and booting back to normal mode. This seemed to fix it permanently since it did not happen again.
Now, I tried to use my GPS to play some Pokemon Go. While I was playing I noticed that I was not able to use the button that made the map point in my direction. I installed a Compass app and to my surprise, it said that I didn't have a sensor for it. My compass seems to be gone.
I went ahead and did a factory reset. It did not work. Every single of those issues keeps happening.
Then I tried to use the "refurbish" option on LG UP. I'm always getting "Error: Error Code = 0x2000, Can't decide current device mode
Any suggestions? My device is the European with stock firmware. My S/N begins with 604. I really didn't want to send my phone to repair, I know it will take ages. RIght now in my city it has been really hot (43ºC in the shadow), but there's really nothing I can do about the heat. This never happened with my Galaxy S4 Mini. Help?
That sounds crazy!
Any possible water damage?
Try going to the service menu and testing everything from there. This is done by dialing a code in the dialer app.
So for the international version it is *#546368#*815#
For the Dual sim version it is *#546368#*818#
I assume for the NA version it is *#546368#*811#

Hey, thanks for the reply. And I told you it's too damn hot here so the only water contact the phone might have was with my sweat.
As for the tests, the phone failed Barometer, something called TL wrong and the proximity test. The GPS itself was fine tho

In that menu, try going to Device Test and choose SAAT. Then tap on Service Menu Manual Test and then tap on Key and next tap on Test then Cal Start. This will help you recalibrate the proximity sensors. Use your phone after the recalibration to check if it works properly.

I guess it's time to send it for repair. At least my humidity thingy hasn't been triggered.
So this is what happened, a couple of days ago I was using my Nexus 5x normally when it turned off. I tried to turn it on but nothing happened so i tried to turn it on whith the power and volume buttons it turned on but the screen froze when the loading the colored dots. I tried to turn it on again with safe mode and it worked but the screen froze again after a couple of minutes. Now this freezing thing happened every time i tried to turn on the phone.
A friend told me to wipe the cache partition but nothing happened. the told me to factory restore it, the I was able to turn on the phone but started to reboot some times or just froze when starting, so another friend who knows about android phones told me to do the wipe data/factory reset and thats when the phone turned off while wiping the data, now the phone doesn't turn on at all. I saw the red light like when the phone is out of battery so I started charging it but the red light started blinking a couple of times then stoped.
One more thing, one of the times I turned it one it looked like it was everything ok except that the finger reader wasn't working and there was no google imprint menu so I restarted the phone and de finger reader was working but the phone was rebooting spontaneously. This happened before trying with the wiping the cache and doing the factory reset.
Thats basically what happened, is there something I can do?
My phone is the LG Nexus 5x 16GB whit android nougat 7.0

Hi, complete n00b here. I found this post when searching for answers about my own Nexus 5x. I ended up contacting Google. I got the quickest "we're sending you a new one" that I've ever seen. This is what they told me: "You are not the only one it does look like there was an update and Nexus 5x phones were affected. We will get you taken care of with a new one with the update already done to avoid any complications in the future like this."
FYI, mine was under warranty and I have Google Fi. YMMV
My Lenovo P2 had 20% battery charged. I plugged the charger and after making sure that fast charging has been started, I left. After 2-3 hours I came back with certainty that the battery would have charged 100%. But unfortunately what I faced was a dead mobile. I unplugged the charger and re plugged it and found a white display with the note Boot mode is ‘charger’ . Now every time I connect charger I face the same note (sometime repeating sometime once) and cell phone does not go beyond this state.
How to fix it?
I am waiting for your response please.
try holding power and volume up and connecting cable just before you press the buttons to go into bootloader mode with the charging status shown...this is the only way i charge my P2..sometimes it doesnt work the first time...so make sure you connect cable just a split second before pressing vol up and power button...try it
In 1st attempt nothing happened. In 2nd attempt the white display with the said note "boot mode is charger" didn't appear. Red led is blinking and screen is black.
pressing and holding the power key + volume down key gives the following page attached as image. click this link

the soft button "start" faced the power key so when i pressed the power key the same loop resumed
click this link
1) press power button for 10mins
2) try to boot into fastboot and from there boot into system
3) fastboot flash twrp and flash any ROM of your choice. Or fastboot flash stock

Thanks for your kind advice. I have done it already . Stock rom was tried. But it stucks while flashing systemchunk4.img . So finally admitted in hospital i mean submitted to the company Lenovo for solution....
should charge
the image that you sent earlier of the bootloader is actually charging the phone...just leave it like that and see if it charges...i hope we talking about the same issue here.
No bro. Its not charging rather its a restart loop. Any how thanks for your time and reply. I have submitted the phone to service center. Let C what they do.. !!

Hey, so i broke my phone, because it fell from a high place, and it broke the display completely. The mainboard is okay.
I really need a way to acces my data. luckily i have twrp installed, and i am able to reboot it there, and the touchscreen appears to be working.
I have to blindly touch the screen to enable MTP in the twrp. i have the older twrp, where you have to manually enable it, but dont know where is it. Can someone guide me?
Assuming that touch still works try entering recovery mode , then connect it to a pc and then try to do the swipe to unlock in twrp
It should be about .5 to 1 inch from bottom to top , maybe even closer to the bottom of it worked and twrp is unlocked you should see the phone being dectected , then try get to touch mount , it should be a little more up and to the left than the swipe to unlock , then on the bottom right corner you should have the option to monut . Attached a picture I found that may help locating the buttons

You could also try a usb hub and connecr your phone to a hdmi display + mouse and keyboard , but those can cost 25 USD and upward , good luck!
Edit:typo
Sadly, it does not show up in my computer. But i know i did enable mtp, because twrp freezes for a sec or two when i enable it. The usb datalines might be damaged, as i see it, because with the official charger, my usb diagnostic thing reads 5.13 volts, with 0,21 amps. RIP i guess, or i dont know what to do other than pay someone to fix it.
I tried ADB sideload too, but it didnt work either.
Guess i have to buy a new phone, or pay half of the original price to get it fixed, wich is not something that worth it.
I think im gonna buy a new phone, and let this puppy rest for a while, then i'll buy a cheap LCD screen for it, then repair the screen myself.
Edit: the phone is a little warm, if charged. hope nothing is wrong with the battery. It seems to be bootlooping, but when the system startup finishes, i could hear facebook's notif sound, so data is probably fine, i'm just unable to get it out from there.
Assuming if there's any problem with the USB port, i wont try the hdmi, mouse, keyboard method.

Can you boot system if so put the latest smart switch on you PC an backup your data .
if you have twrp .. then you don't have to worry .. just press and hold volume down and power button for 6-7 seconds .. when the phone vibrates release the volume down button only and press and hold volume up .. (don't release the power button yet) wait 2 seconds and then release the power button.. so now you're only pressing the volume up ... press hold it for 7-8 seconds... your phone will get into twrp ..
connect your phone to your pc.. and voila your internal storage is on your pc..
p.s- don't forget to install Samsung drivers before you do this...
p.s - it's too late for this solution thou but if you're still searching for solution... this will help and only works if twrp is already there.
Friends,
First I apologise for the WOT.
Background:
My OP 3 died on me last week. It was working at 3.00 pm, I went for a nap and at 4.00 pm woke up to see my phone with a black screen. My volume down key isn't working from even before. I use Havoc OS, TWRP, rooted with Magisk and no modules. Since I am bootloader unlocked, I use the startup screen using the volume up key to navigate between recovery, fastboot etc because of the volume down key not working. My device had roughly 70% charge when it died. Fortunately I had completely backed up my data from the phone to the laptop the previous week along with a TWRP backup.
What I tried:
Connecting it to the charger starts the screen but after the OnePlus logo it starts bootlooping. So not charging even if left on the charger for extended periods of time. Starting with the power button results in identical behaviour. While connected to the charger, from the startup screen, I am able to choose the bootloader and sort of boot into bootloader. But if the charger is unplugged, the phone dies. So not able to use fastboot.
Using the charger, from the startup screen, I am able to choose Recovery (TWRP) but after the OnePlus logo, the TWRP screen flashes and then the phone starts to bootloop. If charger is disconnected, phone dies. So not able to use recovery too.
When trying to hold volume up button for 10 seconds and connecting to laptop, the 9008 driver flashes for a second in Device Manager and vanishes. Phone is not otherwise recognised on laptop even as a charging device. When trying to charge on laptop, the phone behaves as it did on the regular charger ie. bootlooping.
If the MSM tool (version 3.0 and 4.0 as Administrator) is running (with the start button clicked) when I connect the phone holding the volume up button for 10 seconds, it starts the download and then (in one second) in the Tool, I get the message "Try Firehose communication handshake". Then the laptop freezes and I can switch off the laptop only by holding the power button down for 8+ seconds. I have tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports with the same result.
The fact that the laptop freezes makes me suspect a short somewhere. I have ordered a new OP 9 Pro and it was delivered today. Now is there anyway of resurrecting my OP 3 without changing the motherboard?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I remember such behaviour from my OnePlus One back in the day. I solved it by trying numerous different drivers, A LOT of trial and error. But considering it's a 6 year old device and you were still using it as a daily driver, I'm afraid it's not software – as you've also hinted at. I hope it'll be a fun hardware project though! Not my cup of tea ^_^
Update:
Visited OnePlus service center. They initially said that it was only a question of flashing the software and asked me to wait while they flashed it. One hour later, I was informed that an IC in the motherboard seemed to have shorted and that they no longer stock the motherboard of OP 3. Even if they had stock, I was not going to buy it since it simply is not worth that much money to revive a 6 year old phone. Using it as a paper weight now.
End of story.
Sorry to hear that, mate...
Spoiler: RIP
