Really don't know exactly what it does, but generally you don't include this file when you bundle a rom with flashtool, so no harm.

how do i unlock it? That's the whole point of me posting about this.
After i unlock my bootloader, i face this issue. but flashing finished successfully. Sometime it may be a DRM key related item.
Dont flash that file. its simlock data and if you flash it on a phone with different imei then you will kill the phone without any way other than sony service center to fix it.
Don't worry about that, i always get that warning and there was no problem.

I've read this 'simlock.ta' thread with some interest because I have a similar issue myself.. Might you have any suggestions?
In short, my Xperia (Ray) refuses to read my SIM card. In fact, it doesn't even ask me for my PIN number, it just boots as normal but I have no connection to any network. I've tried using the SIM card in another phone and it works fine, therefore the problem is with the phone itself.
I'd recently had my phone network & bootloader unlocked by wotanserver using the test point method - because of this I thought the DRM keys would be fine (e.g. TrackId & Timescape still worked). However, when I was updating from GB .42 to .62 OTA (to flash a GB ROM) my phone bricked! So, I ended up using s1tool to restore the locked bootloader. Then I used flashtool to flash a stock ICS ftf file. It seemed to work (the phone rebooted) but it was then I noticed that the SIM card wasn't being recognised. Also, in the Flashtool log I noticed that a blue line was there saying 'this file is ignored simlock.ta'.
Hard resets & updating with Sony Update Service isn't working and I'm really confused at this stage.
Is my phone screwed for good?
Same Problem with Xperia J

Did you find a solution for your problem?
In reality, I have the same problem with an xperia j (ST26i) , with some differences:
Initial Problem:
- The mobile belongs to my cousin, she updated it with the sony update center to the latest version (JB 4.1.2) and there: problem with the wifi when the sim.
- I got the mobile, and downgrade to the 4.0.4 version, I've tried 4 different versions:
-> ST26i_11.0.A.3.18_Global
-> ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE
-> ST26i_11.0.A.3.28_WE
-> St26i_4.0.4_11.0.A.3.28_CE3
I had always the problem with the wifi when the sim plugged.
Finally I've tried also the UNOFFICIAL CM 10, with no success
- I found a solution with the apk wifix manager witch worked with the 28 WE version of the firmware.
But I've continued to search an other solution, and I've remarked that when I flash the rom I always get the Warn: "This file is ignored : simlock.ta "
After some research I get an advice by a member of XDA to rename the file as "preset.ta", AND THERE, it works no warning ... BUT the sim is blocked (not locked) and I have always the message (invalid card).
I've tried to reflash the firmware many times, to relock the bootloader (with appropriate ftf proposed in this forum ), Tried to use the sony update service .. But I have always the same problem (INVALID CARD)
I've also tried to format everything with CWM (system,card,cache) and made a sdcard partition, and NO way.
So, can any body help me with that please?!
Note : I'm in the middle east zone, some suggestions in the web talk about re-installing the official O2 rom, but I've searched this ROM with no success.

I have this error on XPERIA SP C5303 trying to flash 12.0.A.1.284 on top of 12.0.A.1.257. But my phone is SIM Locked and I know it. And I thought that rewriting simlock.ta from unlocked firmware unlock the phone as well. But flashtool skipping that file. It's really annoying !!! Don't know what to do to unlock it now

Tried that a few times and nothing,
hey everyone, im a P6 user in egypt, and i accidently did something wrong that bricked my phone, and after i managed to unbrick it and flashed the latest B-125 and everything went fine, except that the phone wont connect to my operator, its always with no signal and showing "no service" but when i search for networks manually i find all the networks in my country but cant connect to mine (Can't connect to this network at this time) i also tried to call 911 to check its not hardware, it connected and someone answered, so i don't think its hardware problem, so someone told me that it may be my operators files is missing from the folder /cust in the root of the phone
so any egyptian user can provide me with a copy from the folder /cust, may be that's it or not, but i must try every possible fix

Try the B118 international version (not china version). I think its meant for north african region.
Also maybe try updating b111 international and searching for OTA update.

Is your imei number present? Type *#06# to check.
Also check this. I am not sure but I think that you might use it to create the update.app you want (you may also contact the OP to tell you how to do it).

Try another KDZ method. your .kdz file is probably > 1GB so maybe this can work.

Dear olcimanic,
Thanks a lot Borther. I can flash my optimus G by F180s jellybean. But after that i have the problem of network fluctuations and sometimes no network. what can i do brother? please make a way for me.
regards
Clickanu,
Try to flash the latest 4.1.2 for your phone's original model(the model, when you bought it F180S i believe), through kdz. But remove the Sim card before flashing... Once successfully flashed, Please setup the phone for initial setup without the sim card. Once set up is complete, switch off your phone, insert sim card, reboot and search for your network operator manually, sometimes automatic searching doesn't work well.. this is just an idea, not sure, how far this will work, also, always keep in 2G, use it for sometime or somedays and then start using 3G...
Dear olcimanic,
Thanks for your suggestion. Actually i am from Bangladesh (in asia). I found this phone as a gift, when i found it, it was F180S. But The logo behind the phone is from Olleh. Can u please suggest me, how do i find the original stock firmware. I have lot my IMEI after flash...please Help.

Hello to all
I need SM-N976N/DS (Note10+ 5G Dual SIM) Android 11 firmware.
DS (Dual SIM) models are not listed in sammobile.
I found SM-N976B/DS firmware somewhere but lines (SIM Cards) does not work. So no call.
Any help will be highly appreciated...
Thanks,
Use Frija (or samfirm) to find and download the firmware. Following thread provides necessary info: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-25-feb-21-galaxy-note10-sm-n975f-ds.3957812/

Thank you.
But that's not the DS (Dual SIM) version
In Frija you can find N976N But when write /DS nothing
As far as i 'm aware the single sim and dual sim are the same firmware and has been for a long time.
I know the thread is for another phone type. Just use it to help yourself to download Frija. Frija allows you to download from Samsung servers. Type in the correct information in Frija to select and download the latest firmware for your specific device. Use Odin to flash it onto your N976N.

I have not had a phone with the imei status as NG. ( *#0011# - service mode ). Usually means that the EFS partition is corrupted.
The only methods i've seen to change this state is to root your phone and use something like chimera or z3x.
Or take it to a repair shop to see if they can fix it.

Main problem: I lost 2nd IMEI. It only shows one now.
My model was SM-N976N/DS but I installed SM-N976N rom.
Lost one IMEI. other was not working. I achieved to fix it. Now works.
And I installed a Dual SIM rom also SM-N976B/DS. (Mine is originally N796N. But couldn't find)
But no luck...
