Looking at my battery usage, I have a process labeled 10268 that's used my cpu for 17 minutes and has claimed 7% of my battery. Just wondering what it is.

Hi all,
I know this issue has been kicked to death but I'd like to get some opinions. I've searched and read through numerous threads about the tp2's battery and some are extremely happy with their battery life while others are not.
Just today I was talking on my tp2 for 5 mins and the battery went from 98-99% to 91%. This was around hr after I had unplugged it from a 7hr recharge (went from 50% to 100%). This would mean I have a talk time of 50-60 minutes, which doesnt seem right.
Typically, I get down to 40-50% in a day after heavy data usage (google maps, internet browsing) with no phone usage.
I've installed maybe 10 tweak cabs/programs and I've made sure s2u2's display mode is set to rawbuffer.
Thoughts?
Is your battery/device new? The battery needs a couple recharge cycles to reach optimal capacity...
have had it for 4 weeks now. Are we talking about 0 to 100% when you talk about recharge cycles?
I wouldn't worry too much. I find that when the battery capacity is above 90%, the readings are not very accurate. I've sometimes experienced a drop of 6 or 7 percent over a span of a few minutes and sometimes, it's stuck on 99 or 98 percent for an hour of usage.
I use my device heavily during the day and it gets down to about 40% at the end. So, that's pretty much in line with what you experience.

Battery Automatically Recharges without Plug in

Has anyone experienced this. I used my phone heavily for about 1.5 hours at which point it said that I had about 50% battery left. i then left it untouched and unplugged for about 8 hours overnight and when i picked it up int he morning it was at around 50% still and the battery details showed this. seems like after i stopped using it, the battery started charging rather than discharging until I picked it up again.
I'm on stock with an extended battery.
I'm not complaining, just trying to see whats going on.
I've seen this happen as well when going from heavy use to no use over night or when put in airplane mode.

The reason for this is due to how the phone displays battery usage statistics. You phone will periodically check the phone usage and determine battery life based on your current usage amount. So if you talk on your phone for an hour straight, during the time your phone will figure how much battery you have left based on that usage. If you then don't use it for 8 hours, your battery level indicated by the phone can actually go up, or stay the same for a very long period of time. Thats why your battery will drop very fast when you start to use it when it has not been used for a while.
It looks like the SOC (state of charge) algorithm is using the derivative of current (consumption over time) in conjunction with the open circuit voltage, yet taking little regard to cell temperature.
As current consumption is decreased, the cell temperature will eventually decrease and the open circuit voltage will slightly increase. This is where the SOC difference comes from.
This is a common problem with any SOC algorithm that doesn't precisely factor in the cell temperature. With these lithium cells being as small as they are (compared to what's used in Automotive applications) trying to characterize the cell temperature characteristics would be like nailing jello to the wall.

My thoughts are right along these lines. The phone is projecting your remaining battery life based on previous usage. It is forcasting what your usage will be and with no usage over a certain time period it is reporting negative numbers which send your patterns in a different direction.
Definitely feels temp related. I used mine heavily in a real bad signal area (Restaurant with a tin ceiling...) and it got really hot. I noticed battery life down to 48%. Put it near a fan to cool off and 5 minutes later it was at 65%.
Not positive on specifics, but it has to do with voltage fluctuating.

post your voltages and Temps for me please

Can you guys list your battery voltages and temperatures of your exynos and battery during use and idle for me so I can see what the hell is wrong with my phone. You can use AIDA64 if you don't already have an app you like.
I left my phone in a very moist very hot bag by the pool. Afterwards for about a day and a half it wouldn't turn on. Then it now uses about 1 percent of the battery every 1 to 2 minutes. Maybe 5 minutes per percent while idle.
I'm trying to pinpoint whether the soc is damaged or whether I can just replace the battery. Thank you guys in advance.
So how about:
Temperature of exynos and battery during use while charging.
Temperature of battery and exynos idle
Voltage of battery at 100 percent
Voltage of battery at less than 3 percent

"Phone idle" battery use at >10%?

Hello. I haven't owned the phone for very long, I think a little over a month. But I believe I noticed the battery running out more quickly after the latest Global update 9.2.2.0.
I don't have earlier numbers, but currently the phone idle tends to reach over 10% battery usage, I think it was even 15% yesterday. I assume it might be higher when you barely use your phone so most of the time it actually sits idle, but I tend to use the phone often so the screen is on plenty.
I think I could reach around 10hr SOT with my average usage at the beginning. I need to check this more accurately now but when I looked at the data a couple of days ago, with the battery % I had left I figured it would reach maybe 7-8 hours.
By the way, what exactly does the "phone idle" stand for? When I took the phone off the charger 10 minutes ago, it read about 5%. Now, while using the phone to write this post, it climbed to 10.2%.

how to increase lifespan of worn out battery?

Ok guys,
SOT was just around 5h 30 min so I suppose battery is pretty badly worn out.
Probably the phone has been used around 1.5 y and I see date of manfufacture 09/2019.
So I switched to dark mode,enabled power saving,disabled all gestures,switched to fullHD+ res and for sake of battery I'm nor charging with super fast option.
I think I won't even charge at max capacity because accubattery tells me the wear out has smallest value when I charge it at 85 %,so I suppose I will charge it to 85 %.
I will discharge battery at 15 %,never less.
I'm charging with airplane mode ON,because I'm not busy person to need phone while charging.
I can also charge the battery when the phone is OFF and I suppose that is good for battery too.
So dear friends what else I can disable in Android 11 and try to increase it's lifespan?
These are all things which came to my mind from experience.
Phoneinfo is reporting under USAGE HISTORY when I tap on it few times health of only 41 %,but don't think it's accurate.
With other software DevCheck and AccuBattery can't get battery wear level,discharge cycles info.
Now I charged it for first time after buying phone to 80 % (suggested by Accubattery) and this is what I got,dunno if it's accurate or not,but I don't believe that health is 96 %,I wish it is.
Don't discharge past 20% but 30 or 40% is a better cutoff. Charging to 70 or 80% max most times will also help. Li's prefer frequent midrange charging.
These batteries aren't that hard to change out. Just had one fail in my Note 10+. As they age that becomes more likely to happen.
Keep an eye open for rear cover bulging, replace the battery asap if this happens.
The battery sits directly on top of the display and can damage it if it swells.
Erratic fast charging and diminished capacity are also signs of a Li battery failure and with the hump there's no doubt.

How and when will I know that battery is for replacement?
I still can't find software which would report me wear cycles.
Accubattery... this is it's least useful feature.
Compare your SOT now to when it was new.
It's way more than a 4% drop in capacity.
In reality it's more like 60% or so! It depends of course on how much it's current draw is now and if it's about what it's usage was when new*.
It may also be the phone as it maybe incapable of actual ma measurement and only estimates it bases on battery voltage drop.
*my 10+ is getting around 10 hours SOT but with some battery hogs it could easily fall to 6 hrs SOT with a new battery.

I haven't bought new phone,just used...I wrote that SOT is around 5h and 30 min.

The SOT runtime is very subjective depending how well optimized it is. If it's running warm* while surfing the web with screen brightness at 40%, it's not optimized and probably using more battery than it has too.
*ambient temp around 72°F but the phone is noticeably warm.

Great app for getting most of of your battery with some great performance tweaks as well. Difference is very noticeable on my device and premium is very reasonable.
Also recommend tasker. I have it set so my NFC and mobile data are automatically of when at home and automatically turned on (with WiFi off) when WiFi disconnects. Also GPS off at all times unless Google maps is open. These made all made a huge difference for me. Reckon combined they at least doubled my battery life per charge.
