Lumia 640 xl FHD recording stuttering / lag - Windows 10 Mobile

I have L640 xl and rs 393.67 with last camera app (with panorama). I wanted to record some videos at [email protected] with digital stabilization and there is problem, lose frames video recorded at 25-26fps. When I off the stabilization it's a bit better and fps is 30 but still loses frames.
Can You tell me how it works at yours phones L640 / xl.

So not even 1 person with L640 / XL and win 10 RS on forum ?

What camera version? Mine is 2016.816.21.0.

Same as yours.

How to check if is skipping frames?

in settings set [email protected] and "digital stablization" and just start record and move phone, You will see on screen and next when u playback recorded video.

Same thing on lumia 830 (1Go Ram) but works on lumia 1020 (2 Go Ram).
On 830 lumia caméra works in [email protected] but no "digital stablization"

Indeed.... :crying:

on TH2 I think it was ok, in 8.1 was no stabilization option so was good too

Try without it.

Hey.
At the One X when I choose stabilizations an image while filming program is falling apart. When taking pictures, the image jumps and crazy about the program.

Hmm? It has always supported the One X.. I've had it installed for a month already -_- Bypasses compression, but not dropped frames. Still as bad as stock cam.

only a few days ago then it started to officially support the one x.
Nice, just installed the Pro version, photo's uncompressed, you'll get a file size of 4,5mb, instead of the 1,5 of htc, better quality
you can record movies in 3gp and mp4.. I've set it to mp4, because that runs better on the One X
also the bitrate to 30mbps, instead of the 7 you get from stock htc camera
stereo quaility record on 320kbps and 48hz
218mb for 1min mp4 movie, hmm haha
maybe I should try 20mbps bitrate
Do you have drop frames in video?

Same happens to me when I try to activate the stabilisation in the camcorder.
Great camera app, I'm playing with it at the moment trying all options and buttons.
Recording in mpeg4 with video bitrate of 100Mbit and video framerate 30 plus resolution 1920x1088. (5 seconds video is 16,9mb)
Switching between picture and camcorder works fine for me and also stabilisation I've enabled, no freeze.
I still use the free version.
I can switch between picture and camcorder without problems.
Also stabilisation I have enabled.
Edit; the camcorder is very very nice, without it the camcorder is great as well but if the zoom would work fluent it would be a kick ass camcorder!
Edit 2; the zoom does work fluent! You can zoom in and out with the volume button WOW !!!!
Last edit; the zoom isn't fluent but I can live with that (hopefully it can be fixed in futher development), bought the pro version.

On my stock HOX the free version of lgCamera hangs whenever I go to video-recording mode forcing me to click the menu button to exit the app. It also, somehow, manages to shut down the camera service making even the stock HTC camera to malfunction!
So far the latest Camera ICS (free version) has managed to work flawlessly with my device, making incredible videos that are almost 500mb in size for a 2min clip, but remains on the 24 frames all the time. Videos do look smooth though.
What I want to know is if someone using lgCamera has managed to bypass the stock framerate limit of 24fps? And what are the results?
I'm on a no rooted stock HOX as well, latest 1.29.401.11
Weird but all does function fine for me, no freeze nothing.
I've set the frame rate at 30 but how can I check if it's real 30?
Edit; your right, last video does 21 frames per second.
Edit; my apologies I just realise by reading your post a second time that you do not have any problems on latest version as well.

Hi again,
I've just had a very fast reply by email from the developer of lgCamera.
He told me that previous version 6.25 did hang sometimes but latest version 6.3 is checked on all mode and shouldn't.
Are you running the latest version?

exactly the same issue with paid app, latest version.
it's the only app so far that managed to **** up the stock camera, needed a reboot to get it working again
i also have wrong aspect ratio in the viewfinder after pressing record, when shooting video, but the recorded material is fine....
So far Camera ICS+ is superior, even with 24fps.
The developer of lgCamera has opened a new thread for beta testing
in the general apps and games all device Android section >> HERE
Yes I downloaded the latest free version from the market. I downloaded by other means the old pro 1.25 version and it works flawlessly, it manages 30fps while recording from a moving vehicle! Strange, right?
You can check the framerate and other properties of your videos by opening those files with MX Player.
So, does the newest version lgCamera in your case, create videos with a higher bitrate than the stock camera?

No problem with FPS, some videos are 23/24/25/29 FPS and even 60 fps 4K (YES Z5P can play 60 FPS 4K I was suprised too, only 10 bits (10bits=HDR) 4K video is unplayable ) was playable before this bug, it's the same videos which I saved on my phone since 3 or 4 months, sometimes I watch some of this videos to make my eyes crying with this 4K beauty, but today impossible to play some 4K videos even after re-download them...
and more strange it's the video sound still playing even with the error message (but only the sound), and if I tried to play another video under this error, the video seems to play under the other which is playing without pictures, and it full up my RAM (only 100mb avaible ... force close the app don't change anything, only reboot free my RAM)
They said Premium........
I've try to record a 4K video to see what happen...impossible to record 4K video, the phone freeze !!
Found what was the problem i've got a video in wallpaper with video wallpaper app and it was this app confused the phone and was unable to play 4K video in the same time of the video which is in background x)

No prob bro thanks for your help ^^
Here are the minimum system requirements for PC and Mac for 4K edit/playback based on processor and graphics chip manufacturer's websites.
Integrated Graphics solutions that support 4K external displays (8GB RAM recommended with integrated graphics solutions):
4th generation Intel® Core™ processor family (Intel Haswell based CPUs) - (Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 5200 / Intel® Iris™ Graphics 5100, Intel® HD Graphics 5000 / 4600 / 4400 / 4200)
AMD A10-7800 APU
Discrete Graphics cards that support 4K external displays:
Nvidia GeForce
GeForce® GTX™ 970
GeForce® GTX™ 980
GeForce® GTX™ TITAN Z
GeForce® GTX™ TITAN Black
GeForce® GTX™ TITAN
GeForce® GTX™ 780 & 780 Ti
GeForce® GTX™ 770
GeForce® GTX™ 760 & 760 Ti
GeForce® GTX™ 750 & 750 Ti
GeForce® GTX™ 690, 680, 670, 660, 660 Ti, 650, 650 Ti BOOST, 650 Ti
AMD Radeon™ HD 7000 Series or better
Other things to consider:
You need to have a monitor which is capable of playing back 4K video if you want to properly play 4K.
Even if your computer meets the requirements, you may find that 4K video plays back choppy. This is due to the immense processing power required to play 4K.

Nothing new particularly in rs1,almost every unsupported phone shows this error in panorama.Whats interesting is that even i had a 925 but i never managed to get it work in th2(10586.545),the icon showed up in camera but while you trying to capture provided similar error.
You can use lumia panorama/proshot for the time being

nope it never did and never will, panorama works using the same video capture mode that things like live images use, that never made it to S4 lumias, it probably needs a newer encoder or something, whatever hardware this function needs to run isn't there on any S4 phone

This tweak requires hardware support, e.g. Snapdragon 200/400 can't work with 4K video.
That's why doesn't work on 520....

Hi, strange user @Akki_X. JFYI, 4K video requires, first of all, camera with > 8Mp matrix (3840 pixels × 2160 pixels = 8.3 megapixels, aspect ratio 16:9). So, don't waste your (and others) time for posting this kind of useless and stupid hacks!
@sensboston
I agree. But it is not a stupid post, just one lacking needed research. Plus why open a seperate thread to discuss something that has already been posted...
On a side note. I thought you were upset at how W10M is turning out, interestingly you are still around adding to posts...

I was just asking about this trick because I wasn't sure about this and I thought some of users may could help about this so that I posted. My intention isn't wasting Your time to read this post. Let people try to ho forward, don't push Them behind. E.g- Project Astoria was dead... Now many users are keep focusing on that.
Thanks! ??
@nate0, did you get my point? To shoot 4K video, registry change is not enough (absolutely). First, you must have a 4K capable camera, second - your handset hardware must have enough performance and power to handle 4K video stream. There is no point to "research"; Nokia/MS engineers aren't stupid and nonprofessional. If your phone's camera not marked as "4K capable", you can't (physically) shoot 4K videos. Period.
Changing the registry value to 4 doesn't make your device shoot at 4k, the registry value 4 means the highest your camera support.
i.e. If your device shows maximum capture as 720p but, your camera can shoot 1080p because it supports it, for example 5MP camera, then the value 4 will enable 1080, not 2160(4k).

Best Video Recording Set Up???

Can someone tell me what is the best settings for fluid video recording on a Pixel 2 XL?
I seen an Apple XR recording the other day and it was amazing. Very fluid and very real like motion. I believe it was achieved by a few setting changes.
I feel my recording's could be far better but I'm unsure of what settings I need to achieve them for day and night.
I do some videos on my phone in a club setting so is there some settings i need to set?
All guidance would be gladly appreciated.
have you changed your video recording from recording a 30fps to 60fps? That there will probably be the bare minimum for better more "fluid" recordings...

That's good....yea, see how that does for you...
but, if anything, you might have some luck either running the Pixel 3 camera app on our "taimen"...that, or running pro or paid video recording apps -- I know there are apps to add "professional" features to our still camera, maybe there are some for video -- instead of our stock camera app...
