Hi all,
Long time reader and first time poster.
I've just rooted my phone and installed JellyBean - JELLYTIME for DHD/Inspire4g - R30. I must say I'm well impressed
The only issue is the google play app does not seem to work. I have tried to unistall and reinstall it, use wifi only, delete app cache, use the website to download a app - all have failed.
Another issue I have noticed is when the screen is locked, and you drag the padlock to the camera or the google search, they do not open.
Could someone please advise as to how these can be fixed?

Perhaps you can try the latest version of Gapps 12/12/12 from goo.im - failure could be due to DPI compatibility issues.
Hi...thanks for the reply. I have installed gapps as suggested. But I still can not access my account or Google play store. Google play loads up and says
Error while retrieving information from server. [RH-01]
Also another error comes up about the keyboard since installing gapps.
It reads:
Unfortunately android keyboard (AOSP) has stopped working

About the lockscreen thing. Just go to settings> lockscreen> slider shortcuts> then edit the camera. Just pick the camera app then change the camera icon to stock. I just found out this bug when i saw your post and try to do it, the camera shortcut is not really working so i edit it afterwards. Hope this helps

Thanks. They all are working. Just uninstall old apps before.
I was also trying to use the apps - besides the messenger app (note its not hangouts! - its the new sms application). the other apps don`t work for me. The installer complains that another application is already installed.

also some of these apps require you to be using ART instead of dalvik or the app will crash

Can some kind soul help me with this updated app? It would be greatly appreciated.
Hi guys,
As my title means, I really miss a blacklist feature in the phone system app. Coming from Samsung world, I've always been able to block these daily cold callings.
So, my question is straightforward: is this feature hidden somewhere or do I need a mod (Xposed, maybe?)? I'm quite reluctant to install any third app
Any help here, please?
Create a whatever contact and save all those numbers under that contact. Then click the "all calls to voicemail" option and that way you will never be bothered by those calls again. Samsung had it implemented better though, I know what you mean.

Download and install the Google Dialer apk. It's pretty much identical to the stock dialer only it lets you create a blacklist and block numbers. Once it's installed you can then set it as your default dialling app and disable the stock one (annoyingly, they both have the same name: Phone).
This is what I use, it doesn't require root or Xposed and works a treat on my OnePlus 3.
But you could also try out Truecaller, a dialling app with caller ID that also lets you do the same thing.

Agreed, that's how I got around this missing feature (also built a blacklist profile in tasker that reads from (and writes to if I tell it to) a txt file when I receive a call from a number not in my contacts) .
When I tried last week, only specific versions worked (newer and newest ones did not).
"com.google.android.dialer_2.5.11_rc8-20511_minAPI23(nodpi)" was the newest one that worked for me.
If anybody got a newer version to work, please enlighten me/us. [emoji6]

If you can flash a zip, you can install the latest version. I've just posted instructions here. Essentially you just have to install the requisite dialer framework to /system beforehand. Recent versions of the dialer app require it.

This is a simple tweak to get google assistant working on your device.
Note: This tweak only works with devices running android 7.0 and above. So, if you flash on a lower version and screw your device, I'm not responsible. Do it at your own risk!!!
So all you have to do is add a piece of code to your build.prop
Here's the code:
Code:
ro.product.model=Pixel XL
ro.opa.eligible_device=true
Reboot your device and we're done. Google Assistant is ready to serve you.
Note:You must have google app installed on your device and move it to /system/app
Screenshots:
Nougat is in early stage so I know most of Redmi 1s users still using marshmallow, so I share to you how to get Google Assistant in Lollipop and Marshmallow.
You need Xposed Framework and Assistant Enabler module. Just enable the module and you are good to go.

What I did was :
Install Pixel Launcher, move it to system.
Install Google App, move it to system
Update Build.prop
(I used Kernel Adiutor to update it, Open KA, goto Buil prop Editor, click on that small (+) symbol, select "Add", in "Key" add the name like "ro.xxx.xxx" and in value "Enable" and enter both the attributes. Done there.)
Restart
Update Google App from play store.

You can uninstall (delete) useless system apps from /System/App and /System/Priv-App since the memory allocated to the system is really small in your case mostly, changing which is really a tedious work to do.
You can do:
Install Google Keyboard and delete default Keyboard (folder named as LatinMe)
Remove FM Radio
Remove "AntHAL" if you don't use fitness devices
Remove CM File Manager, instead you can use ES File Explorer Pro
Install Chrome and remove default Browser.

OkYou can install an old patched version, or if you are like me, and loved having that auto spam notification and spam reporting options as well as location based search results like in the newest versions, then you can do this:
You need to have TWRP and flash this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3907762&d=1476815806 (Google Dialer Framework Support)
and then use APK mirror to download and install the newest official Google Phone APK.
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-phone/
Then freeze/disable the default Dialer app, and set the Google one as default.
This can be done by going to "app info" for default OnePlus phone app and disabling, then by going to Google Phone "app info" and clicking on Phone App, then on the "Configure apps screen, changing the default Phone App to the only option you should have (after disabling the default one) which is the Google "Phone". Then make sure your new Phone app has all it's permissions.
Known Issue:
Can not answer calls from notification panel. You have to press the panel and go to the phone app to swipe up or down to accept or reject call.
All the info that I posted and more can be found here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-google-dialer-t3557412

Edit:
I would recommend using this other method, as it truly works 100%.
Google Dialer and Contacts
Works! Nice to have the Google dialer back... Local search and swipe up to answer. Hooray

What? This has nothing to do with root.
You can't install any of this with just root. The framework has to be flashed with TWRP or the official Google Phone app will not allow you to install it. With or without root.
I am using Magisk and I'm rooted, and this works with all that and you still pass Safety net test.

That's nice to know, but I don't think my way is particularly harder or anything. Also, mine should auto update when Google pushes an update to the app through the play store, while the Magisk version will not.
I don't use call recording, so I don't really care about that.
I will add your way to the original post a little later, but I do prefer my way, because I prefer to get my updates directly from Google or APKMirror instead of hoping and waiting for an XDA member to update them for me.

Ah well, the Magisk version has both the app and the framework but you can actually install the updates through apkmirror too since the framework is there. It's just that it will stop working if you disable or remove the module from magisk.

Where are call recordings stored? I have it "enabled" but not sure where to verify it.
