Help Tab S-T705 Won't Turn On!!! - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI all my tab s will not turn on, but if i plug it in to a wall outlet it turns on fine, but it does not boot into android it boots into recovery menu. Long story short i sent it in for repair to Samsung last month the day i got it back i went on holiday. that's where the same issues came back screen flickering erratic battery not charging up properly freezing up etc etc. When i sent it to Sammy it was on kitkat and all Sammy service center did is update it to lollipop ran some diagnostics and sent it back to me.
Due to it not booting up i had a old 4.4.2 firmware file on my computer so i flashed it since then it don't boot to android it boots to android recovery menu and it will not turn on with out a wall outlet as a power source, also soon as i remove the wire it shuts off immediately..
i'm downloading lollipop as i'm typing this out, but the problem is it's been plugged into the laptop for about 15 mins or so and it's not turning on so how do i flash lollipop ?

Try holding the power button home button and both volume buttons all at once holding the home button first then the volume keys then finally the power button. If this dont work or your still getting screen flicker open tab up remove battery for 5 mins and plug it back in. YouTube has tutorials

Epic 4G Touch will not Sleep ??

So I installed Blazer Rom 4.0 on my wife's phone, however her phone will no longer sleep. If she presses the power button, the screen will shut off then it will come back on about 15 seconds later. Has anyone encountered any similar issues or have a fix?

Its possible its a program that is waking the screen up. Some apps can make the volume rocker turn the screen on. So if you hit both the power button and the volume rocker, it could be turning the screen back on. Otherwise, if you cant narrow down what it is, I would suggest reflashing the rom.
adb logcat
Do it, then paste results here.
opposite thing here
my phone goes black and wont turn back on, it is working but you cannot see the screen

Rogers LG-E971 LG logo Flashes briefly w/ black screen - Can't Recovery/Download mode

I have a Rogers 971 that I unlocked (with an unlock code) and use on Bell. The Phone was rooted, and I used FreeGee to install a bootloader recovery (either TWRP or Clockwork, don't remember which, most likely clockwork as I use that on my Galaxy TAB3).
Everything was fine for about a week, I restarted my phone several times (for one reason or another, mostly app lock ups), no issues.
When I got home from work though, I had a 44% charge left on my phone, I took it out of my pocket and put it on my desk, when I got up about an hour later, the screen was blank (but turned on). I pressed and held the power button to reboot it, I saw the LG logo flash once briefly.
When i try and enter recovery mode (holding standby and vol down), the LED blinks red quickly over and over again, and phone shuts off if I take my fingers off the buttons.
When I try to enter download mode (vol up), I the LED is solid red, same result, phone shuts off.
Hopefully the battery is just drained and keeping it plugged with my wall charger turns it back on. (I'll check back in the morning)
If its not the battery, what, if anything, can I do?

If keeping pressed the power button completely shuts the phone off, and putting the charger gives you the charging indication that white charging animation battery than it's fine.

[Q] Bootloop help (cannot access fastboot/adb)

I just rooted and S-off my HTC via rumrunner.
No flash roms install or custom recovery installed.
I wanted to see if I still had CWM from my last root (I returned to stock via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475216&highlight=s-on.
So I went into the bootloader or fastboot (I don't remember) and hit recovery. This did not send me to a CWM, but it appeared to be the stock version of recovery. The process took too long (I know impatient) so I turned it off via power button + volume down.
Now I come to you in need, my phone is constantly turning off/on only displaying the green htc text, no red text, then pausing for 8 seconds, then off again to black screen. The whole process lasts 12 seconds, and this had been going on for about 10-15 min atm.
Plugging it in, my computer does not have the time to recognize it with adb, or fastboot.
I cannot use the power button + volume down to go into bootloader, and pressing the power button does nothing.
Please help me.
So the problem still persists and I assume it's going to keep turning on and off for a while.
I'm just going to wait until the battery dies and see if it can charge and turn it back into bootloader. I'll report back on that.
On a side note in the case that this is bricked, anyone recommend any future phones out there better than the one with verizon? If not I'm probably just going to stick to this phone.

Hold down the volume down and power button at the same time, until the white hboot menu appears.
This may take a good 15 seconds or more, keep holding them down until the hboot menu appears.
Sounds like you aren't holding down long enough. If that doesn't work, try both volume up and down and power all at once.
Then when the screen goes black, let up on the up volume key, so that you enter fastboot via volume down and power.
Then you should be able to fastboot flash whatever you need to get back up and running again.
I wouldnt just let it keep looping until it dies though.
Probably won't damage anything but I doubt that it's real great for the device.

So here's the update.
Screen is now black, meaning the boot up/down process has stopped.
I have tried these:
A. Hold down the volume down + power button for 20+ seconds.
B. Hold down the volume up + volume down + power button for 20+ seconds and let up on the volume up button when screen goes black.
These two methods results in a single boot up to green HTC text then black screen.
I suspect the device has lost most of its power. Tried it for a third time, the device is now unresponsive and remains at black screen.
Now I plugged the usb cable connected to the power adapter.
The device enters the aforementioned continuous boot loop.
I tried method A and B, and there are no results, the boot loop continues. Now the device returns to the low or no powered state.
Now the device is connected to the computer. The same happens as if it were connected to the power adapter.
Method A and B still do not work.
Results: holding down buttons longer do nothing for me. The device seems to have lost power, but when charged, immediately the device enters the boot loop state.
Note: when doing method A and B the trials were done when screen is on and when screen is off, still no results.
Now the screen is off and not connected to anything. The problem still persists.

leave the phone charging for at least 10-15 min on the AC adapter. press and hold both vol buttons then press and hold power for 2+ minutes. after 2 minutes, let go of all buttons except volume down. success?

actually doing that will destroy the battery. well maybe destroy is too strong of a word but it will damage it for sure. this is a very useful site for anything battery...

I actually tried the 2+ minutes because I saw someone had success with another phone and they said they did it for 3 1/2 min. However it did not work.
Update: Welp, I gave up. I'm going to get my replacement soon and I'll be turning it into Verizon. Really it's not that bad of a loss since I just wiped the phone, only thing is I lost my screen protector and carbon skin

have you tried to just let the phone bootloop while holding vol down?

[Q] One M8 will not unlock, power on, or even charge

Hi,
M8 has been working perfectly up until this morning. Last night, I was listening to some music using Shuttle+ and then unplugged my headphones, closed all my apps, and then went to sleep. Then I woke up this morning and tried to unlock my phone using the power button but it won't turn on. Not even motion gestures vibrates or unlocks it.
I thought to myself maybe I accidentally ran an app that drained all my battery before I locked it. I plugged it in the original wall charger that came with the box and the red LED won't even glow or the battery boot animation is not shown.
I tried the following;
-hold the power button for 20 seconds
-hold the power + volume up for 30 seconds
-hold the power+ volume down for 30 seconds
-hold the power+ volume up + down for 30 seconds
I have the VZW Model and I'm NOT rooted.
Thanks
Have you tried another charger and cord?

and remember when you'd plug in to charger, you should wait around 10 minute then charger icon appeared (so sorry for bad english.I hope you've got what I talking about)

Did I softbrick?

Hi! I have an LG x Power (posting here because the power doesn't seem to have a forum yet) and when it was booting I held the power button and the two volume buttons down by accident... It turned off and it wont turn back on again even after charging. now here's the wierd part: when I plugged it into my computer to check if I could see what happened, it instead of giving me nothing, downloaded some drivers.
sounds like you might be in some sort of download mode. Have you tried just holding the power button in, like a forced reset
hey buddy in case you still didnt figure this out you have put it in bulk mode but you can hold volume down and power for awhile and it will reboot

hold power and volume down for a bit and it will reboot had same thing happen, it is odd but what you discovered is something I mentioned a couple weeks ago that for some reason it goes into qualcomm bulk mode when doing that combo of key presses same thing happens on mine, but sadly I cant see the partitions when it is in that mode like normally wish I could cause then we could maybe send a custom rooted system partition to it but sadly that doesnt work, but you can still run scripts from the download mode on it at least, but so far I havent found one that will actually work for rooting it seems the same restrictions apply in marshmallow as when it is actually booted on the com ports hopefully someone can piece together something from the quad root exploit that we are still vulnerable to on this device to eventually get a root shell.
